Slow Music Playback When Typing SB Live

Howdo
I'm hoping someone could help me out with a problem I am having with my SB li've 5.
When playing mp3's through any software and typing at the same time (like now) the music playback becomes juddery. I have tried increasing the processor priorty on the music playing software but no joy.
There is loads of memory left and processor time, i have a athlon 2.6 and 256mb of ram.
ANY help is very welcome as im a uni student so this is killing me when im working!!
Cheers very much
Ryan

sirweste,
256MB of RAM seems a little low for Windows XP and that processor, but I'm still not sure how simple typing would be causing that much of a difference. Have you tried clean installing your soundcard into an alternati've PCI slot just in case some type of resource conflict is occurring?

  • 2 Page doc = very slow, almost unworkable when typing Slow slow slow...

Did some research, latest was posted in FEB.
What is the deal with this? The doc has some images, but they are small jpegs. It should NOT have a 1200 millisecond, or 1.2 second delay when typing.
Its becoming very difficult to work with.
    Any ideas?

You're not the only one with this problem. There is a long discussion, with some proposed solutions, in this thread (and searching for "slow" in the Pages forum will bring up other threads as well).

I don't remember seeing anyone else report the problem.
Try setting up a new user account and see if you still have the problem when logged into that.

  • Music Playback Super SLOW with no audio ouput HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am seriously frustrated with this Ipod Nano 2nd Gen... I received it for Christmas and had no problems with it at first. But yesterday the battery indicated it was time to charge. At the same time, music playback became very very slow, and no audio output thru the headphones. I cahrged it completely, reinstalled the newest verson on itunes and software version for the ipod... I even restored the thing (wiping out ALL of my music, much to my dismay) and stil there is no change. Playback is about 1/10th of what it should be- very slow and still no audio output. The interesting thing is that playback is fine when I play the ipod files through itunes- but when disconnected the ipod just *****!!!! I am getting very frustrated and want to throw this thing out of the window! Please help!!!

Try troubleshooting using the steps found here. If the troubleshooting doesn't help call Apple. You have one free phone support that's good for 90 days from the date of purchase. The warranty for the iPod is good for one year.

  • Mavericks slow when typing non-English

Days ago I wrote that Mavericks is very slow when typing fast. And it still is slow. Untill you use other than English language keyboard (I haven't check German or French or other). I use keyboard with "ded key". And in this case everything goes wrong - suddenly in Pages cursor dissapear or it isn't possible to type at all for some seconds. Safari typically have delay after 2 characters modified by ded key, like "āšč" etc.Mess.
I check this in upgrade version and later in to clear install. No chance.
Now I'm back on Mountain Lion.

Why not tell us which one, so we don't have to guess.  If it's Latvian, this is a known bug

which you should report to Apple via

If it's not Latvian, you have discovered something new and we want to test it to make sure it not something which only affects your system.

After an update or installation, your MBP may take some time to index its files. Give it some time - but if you don't see any improvement, post here - you'll get an answer!

  • Slow response when typing and/or pulling up new message

I do not have any Add-ons or extensions, so that is not the issue. I have a new computer running Windows 7, so I don't believe that is the issue either. But I have a lot of "hour-glass" time when typing and when clicking on emails to open the message. Is just seems to be responding slow. Is it Thunderbird ... or my computer?

As for Thunderbird, the only relation I could see is in line spell checking. Could you please check your Thunderbird preferences, Composition, Spelling. Does it help to uncheck 'Enable spell check as you type'?
If not, I could imagine this to be related to a virus scanner, or a display driver that is not up to date. You might be able to get an update from it from the manufacturer of your video adapter.

  • I want to slow the playback for my live recording...

    Hey all!
I have some live instrumental recordings of my band and want to be able to slow the playback speed so that I can experiment with my vocal melody writing. The single traack recordings are already inside Logic but it seems no matter what I do with tempo settings, it plays back at normal speed. Can anyone assist?
Also, I already tried using sample editor and played with the tempo and pitch machine. I dropped it t half spped, but all it does is take my file and stretch it over more bars without actually slowing the playback. Unless I'm not following the proper steps in Sample Editor?

What insurance?  If in the USA you can buy AppleCare+, which includes an accidental damage claim feature, but otherwise is just an extended warranty.  AppleCare+ does not cover loss or theft.  Also, AppleCare+ must be purchased at the same time as the device, or you can add it within 30days but only after taking your device to Apple for an inspection first.
Regular AppleCare (in countries where AppleCare+ is not available) is an extended warranty - it is NOT insurance.
If you want full coverage insurance - accidental damage AND loss and theft protection, you will need to find a private company offering it.  Apple offers nothing like that themselves.

  • 2.0 update is slow and delayed when doing things and typing

    Anyone else found this?

    Clark,
The v2.0 definitely seems much more sluggish when typing. Also, when you tap "Contacts" now, it takes several seconds for the names to appear and let you type or scroll. Locks up the iPhone for 3-8 seconds. And the delay after hitting the first character in MAP or other applications that search for content as you type, has increased quite a bit.

  • IE 9, 10, 11 - Slow/Lag when typing

    *UPDATE*
So just installing the latest display driver (AMD HD-3xxx) from Dell's website did NOT fix the issue. For whatever reason (still researching) The ATI Catalyst software needs to be installed also. So for testing, I imaged an Optiplex 780 (on board
video) and I had no Issues with IE. I then installed the same image on an Optiplex 9020 with a Video Card. I made sure I had the latest driver in MDT as well. Once it was imaged and I tested IE I had the same issues. Installed the Catalyst software and teh
issues ran away. I then uninstalled the video card from the computer, reimaged the Optiplex 9020 using the on board drivers and had no issues with IE.
Link to AMD and BINGO: http://developer.amd.com/community/blog/2010/03/16/ie9-takes-advantage-of-the-gpu/
A few users have brought this to my attention, I had not tested to much since IE is not my default browser, shame on me. I am imaging Dell Optiplex 760's and 9020's with a custom image and having it patch after installing applications. IE
11 is being loaded on when this happens. For whatever reason IE will lag when typing in certain page fields. It does it when searching in Google or if I go to my companies OWA page. For testing I went ahead and built a machine from scratch (using Windows 7
USB) ran all of the latest patches, installed all of the same software and what do you know IE works without any issues. So on the computer that was having issues, I tried safe mode and no issues when using IE. Here is the kicker, If I roll back IE all the
way to IE 8 it works perfectly, once I started going to 10 and then 11 is when I noticed the issues.
I have been racking my brain for the past week on this issue. I have rebuilt the task sequences for both machines even when using the install files from a disk to image a machine, as soon as I run Windows Updates IE breaks. Any thoughts? Oh and I have tried
EVERYTHING in regards to IE, no add ons, reset settings, inPrivate, everything
    Alex

    Hey Keith,
You may have hit it right on the nose. Turns out the CAB file I had was outdated and I had to grab the latest video driver from Dells website. The Optiplex 760's we run have a video card and what I believe is happening is when imaging the machines out the
Catalyst software is not being installed which is causing the errors (I think). As soon as I updated the display driver and installed the supporting software with it the issues went away. I updated MDT with the latest video driver and am going to image a machine
to see if that is all it needed. If it does need the Catalyst software installed I'll be adding that to my base image so I don't run into this again.
