Slow network, lost connection

So I have a Macbook Pro i5 and Apple Extreme Base Station. The base station was located in my far office and the signal would often get lost at the other end of the house. So, I recently added an Express to "extend" the signal. Ever since doing so, I lose connection quite often and many times have trouble even finding a signal. In fact, the signal is so weak that my Wii lost its connection with the wireless network and can pick up all my neighbors wireless networks, but not mine. Also, the connection seemed to have slowed significantly. Help anyone.

What values of signal and noise do you see? I believe that electronic interference will be reflected in the noise value. In an ideal situation, noise should be somewhere in the mid-minus 90s. Electronic interference can sometimes be fixed by changing the band or channel of the network.
"Non-electronic" interference, such as that caused by walls, distance, etc., should be reflected in the signal value. Each one can cause a poor connection, but the solutions are different.
You might consider using Power-Line equipment, which would allow you to put the Express at the far end of the house.

Slow network share connection

Hey everyone,
I have a user with a 10.7.5 iMac bound to a windows domain. He's been working fine for well over a year (or two), and all of a sudden he started having issues. The other day he changed his password (domain account), and then started having trouble saving from Illustrator to a network drive that he is connected to using SMB. So, he restarted his iMac. When it came back up, he couldn't log in. I reset his password, and he was then able to log in, but had to reset his keychain password because he couldn't remember which password it needed in order to update it.
So now, ever since resetting his domain account password and then resetting his keychain password, he is having trouble with his network drive connection. He can browse the files/folders on the shared drive, but when he tries to save to it his iMac locks up and he has to relaunch finder to get it back to normal. This wasn't an issue before his password fiasco.
Also, I had him log in on an idenical iMac setup, and he was able to access the shared drive just fine.
I've gone through a TON of stuff on the web about OS X Lion and SMB issues, etc, and it seems everyone has different issues/fixes, and some work for others and for others they don't. I'm no Mac expert, so I'm lost and turning to you guys.

I have tried unbinding and then re-binding his iMac to the domain using a different machine name, and that didn't help.

Call Verizon's Voice Repair number on a cell phone or another phone line and report noise/static on your phone line. An MLT should be ran on the line by the agent who answers and they should dispatch a tech. Once the phone noise is solved, the DSL service will improve. Before calling Verizon, what you should do is locate your NID and plug a phone into the test jack found inside of it to see if there is still static. If there is, proceed with what I mentioned above.

NSS3000 Very slow network, Drops connection

I am working with an NSS3000 that has some major network issues. The device is on a 100mb network. Copying a 4mb zip file takes over a minute. If you try to extract the zip file from the share to anywhere on the device it runs for about 5 minutes and errors out saying that they drive may be full. I have checked all of the network settings (of which there aren't very many) and am stuck. I have upgraded the firmware to 1.20.1. Replaced network cables, tried different ports, and adjusted the MTU.
The only network service we use on the box is CIFS.
I connect to the device with an XP Pro machine.
Any thoughts?

Just a few questions, how long has the NSS been in production? Was this working fine the all of a sudden becoming slow? Of course a 4Mb file should be instant. I have tested this is a lab and with no problems just now. What does your topology look like, what device models is in your network, like switch , router , etc. You said you tried to plug into different ports, question which ports and on what device? Did you plug into a different device like the router if NSS was plugged into a switch. Tried to give a little more details so we could have a better picture and idea? Also look into the NSS to make sure the hard drives are not having any errors (read/write errors). Also since you might be doing alot of configuration changes i would recommend backing up all data on NSS device if you haven't already done so.

Network lost connection - CS5

Just installed CS5 and within 5 minutes it crashed with the lost network connection box. The other designer in my team had his Indesign crash 3 times already today. Luckily enough it opens more or less back at the point it crashed.
This used to happen when we installed CS4 but gradually faded out to the point where it only happened once every few weeks.
We use PCs on windows 7 connected to a large scale network and I can assure you the network does not go down or lose connection. Also our area is restricted so no one else can edit or move our files. Our profiles are network based but the programs are ran from the hard drive.
This does not happen in any other program, even when we link files into Illustrator.
I have searched the internet and adobe forum but have found no answer for this. It seems to be quite common but no solution.. apart from saving to a harddrive which is not posssible for the work we do
Can anyone help?

Sorry for my vague network description. In terms of technical details I dont know is the honest answer. There is a server room which were not allowed into for security reasons. I could probably get details from the IT team if needed.
I know you say harddrive is better than network, which is how we used to work, and then the hard drive crashed on one computer and was not recoverable. As a result all our files are now saved to a local server as it is backed up everynight without fail. Providing we do not access the servers in other office it generally runs as quick as hard drive as well. To give you an idea, our work area is around 1TB at present and thats just between 2 designers, there are around 90 actual designers globally. We often package files and share them which is another reason we save to the network.
The crashing in CS5 is mainly happening when we go to save.
Maybe we need to look into the server version before this gets rolled out onto the rest of the computers which is due to happen next week.

It;s been working perfectly up until now. I have no problem on my home WIFI, or through personal hotspot working through my iPhone 5.
I have worked with AT&T, replaced the SIM card with a new one, and done a backup/restore to factory settings, all with the same result that when I turn Cellular
Data on, with or without Enable LTE, it goes into "searching" mode, or reports "no service". My iPhone 5 works perfectly on iOS 8.1.2, on Cellular. I've browsed the blogs and have tried Apple's suggested fix, all to no result.
Oddly enough, every once in a while I do get connected to the network for a short ime (minutes), but it always returns to "searching".
I've filed a report with Apple, along with a request that they contact me, but no results yet.

Hello razmee209. Thank you for your response. I spent the better part of yesterday working with Apple Support. They tried their best, to include backing up photos to my HP laptop, backing up the iPad to iCloud, then resetting the iPad in total. Same problem. I restored from the cloud to recover my apps, same problem.
AT&T installed a new sim card - same problem. I spent time with AT&T Support yesterday, too. In both cases, (Apple and AT&T) the support techs who worked with me were extremely polite, courteous and helpful to the best of their abilities, but I think the problem lies deeper, and nobody at Apple is admitting they have a problem with iOS 8, that I'm aware of.
I didn't have this issue before I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2.
Everything else with the iPad works fine: WIFI, Personal Hotspot, email, all my apps, etc.
In browsing the web for this issue I see that many other folks have the same problem. I filed a report with Apple this morning, requesting that they contact me, but no word yet. I was going to go to iPhone 6, and had been considering the iPad Air 2, but I see reports of this problem with those units as well.
At this point I don't think I'll be spending any more money with Apple, at least not till this issue is resolved.

IPad slow in re-connecting to a known WiFi network

I have noticed that my iPad is sometimes slow in re-connecting to a known wi-fi network (my home network).
I have been doing some online research and it seems like it's an issue apple acknowledged.
Normally it connects right away, other times it takes about 4-5 seconds.
In rare occasions it takes up to a minute...
Is this normal?

The only times mine does not instant connect is when it has been away from the network for a period of time...and then it seems like only a second or two. Safari opens immediately but mail can take several seconds to figure out the connection. If I stay within the router signal, and sleep the iPad, when it wakes it is on the network with no delay.

Lost Connection to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online using the WRT54G v5 Wireless Network

I have this problem playing Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour online. I'm using the WRT54G v5 Wireless Network & when I'm in the game lobby, it kicks me off saying, "Lost connection to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online". This happens quite often variing on me entering & exiting rooms or other players entering & exiting rooms that I'm in. But it doesn't occur when I'm accually play a game with someone. It also does not happen at all when I'm connected directly to the internet connection so I know the network is causing it.
I've never had any problem with this game on any other wireless network types before. I've tried port forwarding with a static IP address, disabling firewalls, upgrading firmware, etc... No good. I've done some google research & found that varios other people on other forum sites have the same problem, it also occurs on another computer of mine.
Is there some kind of feature on this network that isn't on any others? One wireless network specificly that I've found that the game works on is the WRT54GS.
Any replies will be greatly appriecitated.

Maybe I would if I hadn't stopped playing the game 3.5 years ago. You may want to check the date on those previous message. But here's what I remember:
Turns out nothing worked the fix the problem. Not turning of a firewall, not port forwarding, not updating fireware, nothing. There must be a jitter on the routher that triggers the game into thinking it gets disconnected.
Many other users on the forums posted the same problem with this one router too & no one ever figured out a solution. Eventually that router broke & my family bought the WRT54GS2, which worked perfectly.

Outlook is a mail client for PCs and Macs. Who is your mail provider? If you're talking about a business mail system, it may not be accessible from outside the company network. You will need to check with your IT department.

Thanks, helped me figure out a bigger problem there was with my router's access control and all kinds of crazy numbers that needed to be changed, but I got it.
Problem is fixed as far as I can tell!

Z10 lost connection to mobile network

My Z10 worked fine for the past 2 years. Yesterday it received messages until 8:08 am, then lost connection to the network. It is a Verizon phone with Verizon SIM and Verizon support told me to go to a store to get a new SIM. That did not resolve the problem. The icon in the upper right now says "SIM activation in progress"...as it has for the past 12 hours. Clearly nothing is happening. When I check Settings, About, SIM, the Z10 reads the SIM but the SIM is not registering with the network.
One guy at the Verizon store had never used a Blackberry and was on Google looking for answers. He suggested it was becuse I went through airport security. Another said the phone had failed and he wanted to sell me an iPhone. I don't want an iPhone and I don't want to lose my unlimited data plan at Verizon (which terminates if I upgrade through Verizon).
I am not convinced it is a hardware problem but I don't have any way to test it and the Verizon guys are just guessing...and trying to sell me an iPhone.
I have not upgraded any SW or changed any settings recently. The phone has not been dropped or anywhere near water...it looks brand new. It just stopped working mid-morning.
How do I get my Z10 working again?

Given what you describe, you must also have rebooted the device...since the inserted battery blocks the ability to remove/insert the SIM card. So, that basic guidance has already been carried out.
Have you checked the Mobile Network Settings, just in case something was changed accidentally somehow?
Otherwise, what you need to do is escalate beyond those at VZW you are presently talking to...clearly they are not the experts you require. You likely will need to call them (from a landline, so you can do things they recommend) and escalate beyond their Level 1 support folks and get to someone who actually knows the platform and can also check deeper into the VZW network itself.

Can a Hyper-V machine be made slower and/or emulate a slow network connection?

need to reproduce an issue with a client-server asynchronous communication (a bunch of JavaScript AJAX vs. an OData api), seemingly caused by some race condition in the calculations when the server and/or the network connection
slow down.
Now, the test environment I have is a local Hyper-V machine, so it's all shiny and fast ... I need it to slow
down to verify it.
Is there any known method to (basically) make a LAN Hyper-V machine to behave like a remote server reached though a crawling internet connection ?

The best method I have found for simulating a crapy internet connection is to put a pfsense router between the server and my test PC and setup the Limiter features.https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Traffic_Shaping_Guide#Limiter
This can be used to emulate a slow network, latency or even introduce packet loss to see how your applications react to adverse network conditions.
pfsense can run inside a hyperv virtual machine. So you can set it up then change the webserver network settings to be behind pfsense.
