Slow page printing

For each page that's printed there's a lot of sound that comes from the printer. It sounds like the paper feed mechanism is turning on and off and the ink jet carrier is moving back and forth. This goes on for a long time then the page will print. Then the same thing happens for the next page. I've verified that the printer is directly connected to wall power, I've hard reset the printer by removing the power cord and reinserting it, I've reinstalled the printer driver, and I've verified that the printer firmware is the current version. If I try to copy a document I get a "paper size mismatch" error with a blank copy ejected and the page to be copied is not pulled in by the document feeder. I have no idea how the printer gets that idea. The paper I'm using is standard 8.5 x 11 paper and I've done nothing to set some non-standard size.

Thanks. The pages are pretty simple except for a lot of text. I had tried printing it as a bitmap but that didn't seem to help. Do you mean using the addPage printJobOptions parameter? Or do you mean drawing them to a bitmapdata kind of thing?
The slowness doesn't seem to be in the Flash processing part. The print dialog comes up quickly and then while I watch my print monitor I'll see all the pages showing up -- it'll say "printing 1/6." It just seems to take forever to spool to the printer. Much longer than if I print from something like Word or my browser, and those pages are usually far more complex that what I'm sending from Flash.
I don't expect that it will be super quick, but it just seems like there is something going on. And I'm not even sure where to look.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7700 Slow to print

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro L7700 Series printer that is extremely slow at printing, and causing the print spooler service to pause or freeze for several minutes.
    - All the clients are running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
    - I have tested printing via an ethernet cable as well as wirelessly
    - I Have installed the latest driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=2512...
Here's exactly what I am experiencing:
When I click print test page the properties window of the printer freezes for 30 seconds to one minute. If I move the window around it says its not responding. Approximately 1 to 15 minutes later I receive a message that the print job has been successfully sent to the printer, and then the printer prints the page.
I have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the software and driver as well.
    Any thoughts/suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.

    Hi @VexedHPUser
    Perhaps the Microsoft Fix it utility will help;
    What it fixes
You are unable to install a printer, connect to a printer, or print more than one job at a time
You receive an error indicating your Print Spooler service is experiencing problems
You receive an error indicating your is not the default printer
You receive an error indicating: cannot be contacted over the network
Identify if your printer is turned off
Identify if your printer toner is low or empty causing your print job to appear faint or it does not print at all
Identify if your printer paper is low or empty
Identify if the printer has a paper jam which is preventing it from operating normally
Identify if a print job that is in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing
Identify if you need to update your print driver
You receive an error stating that your Plug and Play printer %PRINTERNAME% has encountered a driver problem
If the issue persists, I think it might be a good idea to reach out to the Microsoft Community.

  • Extremely slow wireless printing with HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m

I'm seeing extremely slow print speeds when printing wirelessly from a Mac or a Windows XP system to a new HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer. The printer begins printing immediately when I request a print, but it only prints one line. It will then take about 15 minutes to print the rest of the page, printing each line after a very long pause. Demo page printing doesn't exhibit this problem, only documents from programs like Word 2008, Safari and Firefox (tried firefox on PC and Mac) are affected.
If I connect to the printer through a USB connection it prints fine, so this problem appears to be with wireless printing only.
    Printer: HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m
Computer: Mac mini (Late 2009 model) (also tried a Windows XP laptop as a comparison, using latest drivers from HP's website)
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all available updates installed
Computer connection method: Wired Ethernet connection to wireless router
Printer drivers: version 2.2.1 (Apple supplied, HP drivers never installed as system shipped with 10.6)
Wireless router: Apple TimeCapsule (Early 2009) 1TB, running in a/n and b/g modes on 2.4 and 5GHz. TimeCapsule is in bridging mode as the DSL modem handles DHCP service
Encryption: WPA2 Personal, no MAC filtering or hiding of the SSID.
IP addressing scheme: All addresses are handed out by DHCP server with no reservations of any kind
The TimeCapsule is sitting three inches from the printer and the printer indicates full signal. Connection of the printer to the wireless network and setup of the printer on the Mac went without a hitch. Only when printing a test document did we discover the problem. The wireless network is behaving as expected when accessing the Internet from both Mac and Windows devices (tested with a Dell laptop running XP and a MacBook running OS X 10.6.2), so I don't see any overall problems with the wireless network.
    Attempted remedies:
    1. Rebooting and powering off, waiting, powering on computer
    2. Resetting the print subsystem, turning the printer off and on again and reinstalling the printer
    3. Unplugging power from the printer and letting it sit for several minutes before trying to print wirelessly.
    None of these worked.
    This question was solved.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the DSL modem HW.  There might be an issue with how print data is being routed though.
Please try the second experiment where you blank-out the default gateway and DNS entries from the printer's internal web configuration page.  Open the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address.  Select Networking and then Wireless (802.11).  Under the IPv4 Configuration tab, select Manual IP:
For Manual IP Address, use the existing printer IP address.
For Manual Subnet Mask, use 255.255.255.0
For Manual Default Gateway, leave blank.  This is important.
    Select Manual DNS Server:
Leave both the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields empty.  This is important.
    Press Apply.
Turn off the DSL modem, the printer and all computers connected to your network.  Wait 60 seconds then turn on the DSL modem and then turn on the printer.  Then turn on the computers.  See if this corrects the printing speed.

  • Hp2605dn slow to print

I have been using a laserjet 2600 for several years and found it to be a terrific printer. I was recently given a "barely used" (less thab 9000 pages printed) 2605dn.
I connected it to my network and all was well untill itried to use it in real life. It took 3-5 minutes before it would print. I ran driver updates but still same problem. I then noticed it had an option for 128MB of memory my 2600 didn't have, so I purchased and installed that. Still the same. I checked firmware and it was from 2006, so I upgraded that but the problem still exists.
I would have thought a later model would show improvement, but alas no. The print quality is excellent, but it is too slow to use.
    Any suiggestions?

I have an HP xw4600 workstation connected toan Arris  TG852wireless/cable/router/modem by network cable. A network cable from this connects to my LaserJet 2605dn.
I had a Laserjet 2600 connected  via the same system and it was fine...printing would start within 30 seconds...it it only since I replaced the 2600 with the 2605dn that the trouble started.
I have purchased and installed memory, (which shows as being recognised on the config report) I have updated all firmware and drivers, and switched from PCL printing to PS when I removed and re-installed the printer.
That's about the extent of my knowledge which is why I called for help.
Thanks for the reply.  Any further help appreciated.

  • Very slow wireles printing MG7500

Hello, Two days ago purchased the MG7520 printer.  Set it up today and it connected to my wireless (Dish network, satellite).  Printing a regular Pages document is pretty slow, but printing a photo is nearly impossible - so very slow it would take 30 minutes to print a 5 X 7. I printed a Network Configuration Page, the signal strength is 100%.  I'm running OSX Yosemite on my MacBook Air that is connected to the printer. Not sure what to do next - any suggestions?  Thanks to everyone here in advance :-).

Hey, thanks for your help!  I tried re-connecting the printer to wireless and moved it somewhat closer too with an unobstructed view.  It still printed slow but faster than before, so I think it is definitely the wireless connection.  But, just to make sure will pick up an ethernet cable this week and try that. Will also try the USB when I have time later in the week.  I have to say that the photo I printed today is exactly the color of the subject so I am VERY pleased with the color printing capability of this printer.  And, also very pleased that everything is working fine on the printer regarding both document and photo printing. Thanks again!

  • Extemely slow 7610 printing with pauses

We recently purchased a HP 7610 printer to take advantage of the wireless and wide-format capabilities.   Both of our PC's are running Windows 8.1.  We purchased and installed the two-sided add-on for duplex printing.  We do not need/want the ePrint capabilities/web services.  Web Direct is off.   Our local network traffic is very light - no games or movies.
The 7610 is connected via our wireless router, and is extremely slow when printing.  It takes at least one minute to begin actually printing although the display inidicates it is printing so it is doing something. Once it begins to print, it prints all pages but pauses for 15-30 seconds after printing about 2/3 of the last page.  It finally flushes the buffer or whatever it is doing before it finishes printing and ejects the last page.  This happens when printing from any local application or from the web.  Our old reliable 7310 (hardwired to the router) prints smoothly and quickly.
We installed the driver from the CD shipped with the printer, and have also de-installed and then re-installed using the driver downloaded from the HP website so we believe the driver is current.
How can we eliminate the delay when it begins to print and eliminate the pause when it's almost finished?  Do we need to forget about the wireless connection and run a cable to the 7610?

  • Photosmart D5160 very slow to print

My printer takes forever to print, either from internet or Word doc. Sometimes the computer 'drops' the print request several times before printing as well. I've reinstalled the drivers but nothing has changed. Any suggestions about what I should do next much appreciated.

  • Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ?

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

  • Web page print do not take language other than english. earlier it was working.

I use Firefox 16.0.2 in mylaptop having windows 7 starter. the web pages in languages ther than english is readable. But when i take web page print junk language is coming up. I use cutepdf as my printer. earlier I was comfortably having the print .

    Hi,
If cutepdf has an option to embed fonts, you can try enabling it. Usually you may find the options in Firefox '''File''' ('''Alt''' + '''F''') > '''Print''' > '''Properties''' (for cutepdf) but in some cases you may also have to check the documentation/help for the relevant printer. If it was working earlier, you can also try to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox reset the print options].

I want to show output to my user in HTML STYLE SHEET format as

  • I have a HP PSC 2210 all-in-one. Can I print a status page that shows count of pages printed?

  • How do I adjust the printing preferences? all my pages print in miniature when I use Firefox and try to print from a webpage.

I cannot print from any webpage, including my hotmail account, without the page printing at about 20% of the normal size. If I use Explorer, I have no problems with printing.

Well, I tried your suggestion, and it did increase the font size, but it will only print within the top half and about the middle 1/3 of the page. So, to print something that should fit on one page, it would take 3 to 5 pages....I tried looking at the margins and they were all set to 0. changing them to 1 inch didn't help...any other suggestions?

  • My 8620 HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer IS INCREDIBLY SLOW TO PRINT - TRIED EVERYTHING

I have an 8620 HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer It is connected via wireless set-up, with excellent signal strength. It is incredibly slow to print anything, especially PDF files that have graphics in them. I have the latest software installed, latest firmware updates. I have even uninstalled and re-installed, the issue is still there. This is an incredibly crap product, so I'd like to get this issue solved ASAP. Thanks,Brian

For example: printing http://www.nytimes.com/images/2015/07/04/nytfrontpage/scan.pdf Quickly goes 7.03mb/of 7.03mb... then just swirls the "printing" status on the printer's LCD screen, and takes 5 minutes to print...

  • How to get the total number of pages printed in a report?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to print a frame of fields only in the last page. Unfortunately I cannot use the 'Print Object On' property as it doesnt work in my case. So, I am planning to write a format trigger on the frame to return TRUE if the page is the last physical page. Now, I need to know how to get the total number of physical pages that will get printed in the report so that I can use this to manipulate the frame. I was planning to use the 'Total Physical Pages' built-in, but it seems like I can just use it to print in a field and I can't use this field's value anywhere in the plsql code (formula column function/format trigger) in the report. Is there anyway to get the total number of pages printed in the report which can be used in the report plsql code?
    Thanks,
    Srini.

    i found the solution, thanks

  • Why aren't my pages printing to fit the page? HP Officejet 4622

When printing from cell phone with hp eprint app, or ipad2 with hp eprint app and/or airprint, the pages printed are much smaller then 8" x 11".  I have checked all the settings (actual printer and phone/ipad app settings) and everything says it is set to print on 8" x 11" which is the same size paper i have in the printer. However the pages are only being printed out at about 6" x 8". The text is very small and the whole page is about 3/4 as small as it should be. I have already changed the settings to print on legal size paper and still no difference
EDIT: i would also like to add that these are attachments im opening up through email into adobe pdf format. i have been playing around with the settings within adobe on my desktop and its still printing much smaller. i select the "Fit to printable area", and played around with the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" and still no difference

I will need a little more information. What type of document are you printing? ePrint prints actual size. Is it an image of a document that you are printing?  Have you tried resizing the document?
