Slow parts delivery

Should it usually take six weeks for a my computer store to get a CPU fan for my iMac G5? The guy says that the parts are on back order - seems a long time.

It does seem to be a long time, have you tried to call another repair place and ask how long it will take them? However, remember that the G5 iMacs have been out of production for a few years, so I imagine there are not a lot of spare parts kicking around in their warehouses.

  • Qosmio x500 - "Delay in part delivery" 2 month long repair

I booked my Qosmio x500 laptop in for warranty repair for a failed hard drive replacement almost 2 months ago, and have just received a text message from the repair center saying the eta on the part is now for *next* month.
When I booked it in, it had another two months or so left on the extended warranty I bought with the machine. All these bad reviews of Toshiba warranty repairs are making me nervous.
I was initially told it was going to take two weeks to repair by the guy at Joyce Mayne since the depot is in another state.
A week and a half later I received my first text message from the repair center saying that there was a delay in part delivery and it would take another two weeks for the part to arrive.
I thought to myself 'that's fair, sometimes these things happen' and I didn't think too much of it until I called the Joyce Mayne store on the day it was supposed to be delivered to the store and was told that the "delay in parts" status was still in effect and it was going to take another two weeks...
So I call up last week and I'm promised it will definitely be in store in a weeks time on Friday and that they'll call me when it arrives.
Then I call up the store and they say it'll definitely be in store the next Friday...
So this brings us to today when I'm expecting to pick up my laptop in two days, I get another text message telling me there's a delay in part delivery and "current eta for parts" is next month.
Where can I make an official complaint? Is it worth making an official complaint? Is this the normal amount of time it takes to make a repair on a laptop?
The delinquent at the Joyce Mayne store says he's "just the messenger", so I asked him to email me the contact number of the repair depot and I never received it.

    Hi,
There is not much Toshiba can do if a part is delayed due to shipment from overseas, but maybe they can provide another solution. I would call their call center and tell them the situation. Looking on their website the phone number is 13 30 70.

  • Slow message delivery in HA Cluster

    Hello,
I had setup a testing MQ cluster v4.1 with two brokers (A and B). Cluster is working fine, however when I connect with message cosumer to broker A and with producer to broker B, the produced messages are delivered one by one in about 5 seconds interval. Even whe I send 10 messages at once, consumer is receiving one message each 5 seconds, which is horribly slow. Is this normal? What could be the cause of this problem?
When I connect both consumer and producer to the same broker (either A or B) the message delivery is ok, with messages arriving in about 40ms.
    Thank you,
    Jan.

What is your cluster configuration ? How big are your messages ? Are both brokers running on the same machine ?
What is you connection configuration both for consumer and producer ?

My iMac now got stuck for over 2 days in Shanghai, China (it's there now 20:51) - why is that, and is there anything Apple could do to speed up the delivery?

Well, I live in Italy, but want a UK-International keyboard... So hence why Apple had this not available in the shop. I actually went there, and ended up watching the Apple sales person ordering it online for me :-)
But when I had my iPhone 6 delivered, there was no such long time where the parcel got stuck...

  • How to make the status of a sales order complete of which PART DELIVERY

How to make the status of a sales order complete of which PARTIAL DELIVERY has already done. <b>(Assigning rejection status not accepted)</b>

    Hi Gyana
There is no document with me. But I can confidently say that because I am using this functionality.
In my case I have created a Order Reason as "Short Closed". once you short close this order only the balance quantity gets rejected (provided you have already made previous delivery and PGI).
Try it in one of your test clients if you have. Once it is short Closed it wont also show in the orders due for processing in Production.
Also you can generate reports based on this if your customer wants to know how many order he has short closed, qty of item short closed etc.
    Try it.

  • Slow email delivery

    Hi Jay,
Another entity having their own SJS messaging server, complained that the emails they sent to my domain are slow to be delivered.
I checked the logs and queues and found nothing related to the problem. A traceroute from them to my mail server took several milliseconds on certain hops...so it might be due to network problems...
    Anyway, their messaging log showed:

Their server should be waiting up to 10 minutes, so, likely there are true network problems somewhere. This is not likely a Messaging Server problem, especially if you don't have any problems sending mail from your users.....

  • Part delivery of component

    DearAll,
My client manufacture Tower. In the sales order the FG is tower with qty 1. But while delivering client deliver the component of the tower (such as angle, channels etc) as soon as they are available. It continue as multiple delivery. Finally they assemble it as tower on site and invoice the customer for Tower.
1.How to deliver the component of FG ?
    2. How to make multiple deliveries for a single FG with quantity 1?
    Please suggest,
    BKR

    hi,
this is to inform you that,
1.How to deliver the component of FG - create FG or SD BOM and include all the components in it.
    2. How to make multiple deliveries for a single FG with quantity 1 - SAP allows 9 partial deliveries against single sales order if you check In customer master SAP allows 9 maximum deliveries for a single sales order.
In VF01 enter all the list of deliveries there and press enter.
Thus you created a single invoice for multiple deliveries of a single sales order.
finally you can use single billing for all the components called tower to the customer.

  • Issue with part delivery of orders containing payment card lines

We have a problem with part deliveries of orders containing payment card authorizations.
Our customers can buy items in our webshop paying with credit cards. The webshop is connected to our payment service provider who authorizes the complete amount of each order. The order data including authorization data is transferred from the webshop to our SAP ERP (ECC 5.0), where order documents are created, delivered and billed.
For example, an order was created with 3 items:
    A for 5 u20AC
    B for 10 u20AC
    C for 20 u20AC
For now, we create 3 payment card authorization lines according to those items.
    Line 1 5 u20AC
    Line 2 10 u20AC
    Line 3 20 u20AC
Item C is temporarily not available, item A and B can be delivered and billed. The system now takes authorization line 3 (as 5 u20AC + 10 u20AC = 15 u20AC < 20 u20AC) for the first billing. The authorized amount of this line is completely consumed.
When item C becomes available and is delivered and billed, the creation of the FI-document fails because there isn't enough authorization amount left.
The creation of 3 payment card authorization lines is not mandatory for our business, creating one line for the complete amount would be as fine. But how can we avoid the complete comsumption of the authorization line then? Or do you have any other suggestions / best practices how to deal with part deliveries of orders containing payment card authorizations?
    Regards.

    Hello fridaynights,
It would be worrisome to receive an email notification that we were unable to authorize your payment method, especially if the payment method appears to be fine on your end.
Generally speaking, when items ship separately from one order, we will authorize the full amount of the order when the order is placed. Authorizations may expire after a few business days, but as items ship individually, your card would be authorized and charged for the individual shipments.
Using the email address you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your order with the canceled amiibos. It would appear that we were unsuccessful in authorizing funds on the card on multiple occasions, and so the remaining amiibos were canceled. I apologize for any trouble or displeasure that this cancelation may cause you. I would encourage you to keep an eye on these amiibos on BestBuy.com for changes in their availability.
As it seems there was an issue with your My Best Buy MasterCard, I would encourage you to contact Citibank, the issuer of your My Best Buy MasterCard account, at 1-888-574-1301 for further inquiries into this authorization issue.
If you should need further assistance, please let me know.

  • Slow Mail Delivery

I just set up Mail on my new Mac Mini Sever (OS X Server 10.6.6). I sent multiple test emails (plain text - no attachments) from my client machine to check functionality ...a few arrived instantly but the majority arrive exactly 30 minutes later. What is causing them to arrive so late?

This is likely triggered by an anti-spam feature known as greylisting, and the behavior will improve as the server learns of servers. Real SMTP servers retransmit messages, where spam engines generally don't. Google or search for forums for details.

  • ChatandVision VERY slow order delivery - awful cus...

I placed an order on 28th October 2013 and due to previous good service just waited and expected it to arrive promptly. At the end of November I wondered where the order was and followed up by ringing the Australian number on their website - spoke to someone who said their was a delay and they would send details.
I have received an automated case email from their Help Desk and nothing else.
    A further 3 follow-ups by email - no effect
So after waiting for 10 weeks for my ordfer I made another phone call today and all I could get out of them was acknowledgment of the order and a promise to send an email they said they sent me on 6 January 2014 - which I have not received.
When pressed for more information all they would say is they were sending the email again and could not give me any other detaisl.
This is really really average customer service. One more chance and then I will request a charge back from my credit card provider and start buying what I need to use Skype from someone repuatable.

When on earth are Skype going to drop Chat And Vision as their "Global Sales Partner"?  They are absolutely atrocious and appear to be doing all they can to halt the sales of Skype products.
I ordered a RTX-4088 Dualphone on the 5th of December as a Christmas present, getting an alomsot immediate order confirmation  When it had not arrived by the 20th, I chased it up by email.  After half a dozen mails, they advised calling the phone number to re-order it.
For 1 month, I tried to call them - Option 1 "Sales" perpetually gave a "I am sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties - Please call back later" recorded message.
Today, I tried option 2 - "Customer Don't Care" - They themselves said you need to speak to sales, and even they themselves couldn't get through.
I am fed up trying to order this damned phone.  Skype themselves seem to have as little care about it as Chat and Vision and trot out some excuse that its a matter for Chat and Vision to sort out.
    In a Live Chat session at the moment with Skype, they have advised;
I really do apologize about it, dear customer. I know that it is frustating to keep on hearing me apologizing, however, as much as I wanted to help you it is already out of my hands. The best I can is to document your case and if possible enough consult this with my Supervisor. Our higher deaprtment are reviewing each case, they will be able to see about this problem and in the future might have get a different, much better supplier that will satisfy our customer, for Skype's products and goods.
I note the reference to them getting a "different, much better supplier" so I guess that Chat and Visions incomptencies have not gone un-noticed by them either.
In the meantime, does any one know where else Skype phones can be bought, aside from this useless bunch?

  • Very Slow Text Delivery

Thought I'd share this in case anyone else is experiencing delayed text message (SMS) deliveries. It appears that the MO SMS over IMS setting was enabled in a recent update (my current phone is a Droid M). I was seeing deliveries of 45 minutes or more to others on the same network. By disabling the MO SMS over IMS setting text messages started working properly.
To change (at your own risk I should add):
Open the dialer and type in ##7764726 and press send.
Enter the password 000000 and hit verify.
    Scroll down to SMS/MMS settings.
Next scroll to the bottom, select "MO SMS over IMS", and disable it.
    Done.

So what OS and what version of Acrobat? There may be an issue in the combination.

  • Slow split table export (R3load and WHERE clause)

For our split table exports, we used custom coded WHERE clauses. (Basically adding additional columns to the R3ta default column to take advantage of existing indexes).
The results have been good so far. Full tablescans have been eliminated and export times have gone down, in some cases, tables export times have improved by 50%.
However, our biggest table, CE1OC01 (120 GB), continues to be a bottleneck. Initially, after using the new WHERE clause, it looked like performance gains were dramatic, with export times for the first 5 packages dropping from 25-30 hours down to 1 1/2 hours.
However, after 2 hours, the remaining CE1OC01 split packages have shown no improvement. This is very odd because we are trying to determine why part of the table exports very fast, but other parts are running very slow.
Before the custom WHERE clauses, the export server had run into issues with SORTHEAP being exhausted, so we thought that might be the culprit. But that does not seem to be an issue now, since the improved WHERE clauses have reduced or eliminated excessive sorting.
I checked the access path of all the CE1OC01 packages, through EXPLAIN, and they all access the same index to return results. The execution time in EXPLAIN returns similar times for each of the packages:
    CE1OC01-11: select * from CE1OC01  WHERE MANDT='212'
    AND ("BELNR" > '0124727994') AND ("BELNR" <= '0131810250')
    CE1OC01-19: select * from CE1OC01 WHERE MANDT='212'
    AND ("BELNR" > '0181387534') AND ("BELNR" <= '0188469413')
          0 SELECT STATEMENT ( Estimated Costs =  8.448E+06 [timerons] )
      |
      ---      1 RETURN
          |
          ---      2 FETCH CE1OC01
              |
              ------   3 IXSCAN CE1OC01~4 #key columns:  2
query execution time [millisec]            |       333
uow elapsed time [microsec]                |   429,907
total user CPU time [microsec]             |         0
total system cpu time [microsec]           |         0
Both queries utilize an index that has fields MANDT and BELNR. However, during R3load, CE1OC01-19 finishes in an hour and a half, whereas CE1OC01-11 can take 25-30 hours.
I am wondering if there is anything else to check on the DB2 access path side of things or if I need to start digging deeper into other aggregate load/infrastructure issues. Other tables don't seem to exhibit this behavior. There is some discrepancy between other tables' run times (for example, 2-4 hours), but those are not as dramatic as this particular table.
Another idea to test is to try and export only 5 parts of the table at a time, perhaps there is a throughput or logical limitation when all 20 of the exports are running at the same time. Or create a single column index on BELNR (default R3ta column) and see if that shows any improvement.
Anyone have any ideas on why some of the table moves fast but the rest of it moves slow?
We also notice that the "fast" parts of the table are at the very end of the table. We are wondering if perhaps the index is less fragmented in that range, a REORG or recreation of the index may do this table some good. We were hoping to squeeze as many improvements out of our export process as possible before running a full REORG on the database. This particular index (there are 5 indexes on this table) has a Cluster Ratio of 54%, so, perhaps for purposes of the export, it may make sense to REORG the table and cluster it around this particular index. By contrast, the primary key index has a Cluster Ratio of 86%.
Here is the output from our current run. The "slow" parts of the table have not completed, but they average a throughput of 0.18 MB/min, versus the "fast" parts, which average 5 MB/min, a pretty dramatic difference.

Hi all, thanks for the quick and extremely helpful answers.
    Beck,
Thanks for the health check. We are exporting the entire table in parallel, so all the exports begin at the same time. Regarding the SORTHEAP, we initially thought that might be our problem, because we were running out of SORTHEAP on the source database server. Looks like for this run, and the previous run, SORTHEAP has remained available and has not overrun. That's what was so confusing, because this looked like a buffer overrun.
    Ralph,
The WHERE technique you provided worked perfectly. Our export times have improved dramatically by switching to the forced full tablescan. Being always trained to eliminate full tablescans, it seems counterintuitive at first, but, given the nature of the export query, combined with the unsorted export, it now makes total sense why the tablescan works so much better.
Looks like you were right, in this case, the index adds too much additional overhead, and especially since our Cluster Ratio was terrible (in the 50% range), so the index was definitely working against us, by bouncing all over the place to pull the data out.
We're going to look at some of our other long running tables and see if this technique improves runtimes on them as well.
Thanks so much, that helped us out tremendously. We will verify the data from source to target matches up 1 for 1 by running a consistency check.
Look at the throughput difference between the previous run and the current run:
package     time       start date        end date          size MB  MB/min

  • A very slow select with sub selects sql statement on Oracle

    Hi,
I'm moving an application from MySql to Oracle. The following select were very efficiently executed in MySql. In oracle its slow like a snail.
Do anyone have a hint on how to speed it up?
The slow part is the four sub selects in the select part. Removing them makes the select about 50 times faster on Oracle.
    Best Regards,
    Stephane
    select
    (select count(*) from relation rr where rr.document_id = d.id and rr.product_id = ? and (rr.relation_type_id = 'link' OR rr.relation_type_id = 'product')) as relationList,
    (select count(*) from relation rr where rr.document_id = d.id and rr.product_id = ? and rr.relation_type_id = 'number') as relationNumber,
    (select count(*) from relation rr where rr.document_id = d.id and rr.product_id = ? and rr.relation_type_id = 'title') as relationTitle,
    (select count(*) from relation rr where rr.document_id = d.id and rr.product_id = ? and rr.relation_type_id = 'content') as relationText,
    d.*
    from document d,(
    select distinct r.document_id id
    from relation r
    where
    r.product_id = ?
    ) dd
    where d.id=dd.id

You are accessing the relation-table too many times, so a rewrite to a query like this
    SQL> select dept.deptno
      2       , dept.dname
      3       , count(decode(job,'CLERK',1)) clerk
      4       , count(decode(job,'MANAGER',1)) manager
      5       , count(decode(job,'SALESMAN',1)) salesman
      6    from dept, emp
      7   where dept.deptno = emp.deptno (+)
      8   group by dept.deptno
      9       , dept.dname
    10  /
        DEPTNO DNAME               CLERK    MANAGER   SALESMAN
            10 ACCOUNTING              1          1          0
            20 RESEARCH                2          1          0
            30 SALES                   1          1          4
            40 OPERATIONS              0          0          0
4 rijen zijn geselecteerd.will be worth the effort.
If still not satisfied, you have to do some investigation, as described [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=501834&tstart=0]here

  • PROBLEM WITH PARTIAL DELIVERY

    HI
    Friends,
With referance to an order i want to do apartial delivery.
for example order quantity is 10 units. i am want to do a delivery of 5 units. now whem i am entering picked quantity 5 under picking view of delivery & doing PGI an error message is coming DELIVERY HAS NOT YET BEEN PUT AWAY / PICKED (COMPLETELY).
To get this desired transcation what customization required. i have only one ship to party that who is my sold to party also. for this ship to party part delivery of one delivery is expected.
    regards
    ambarish

    Hi,
For the customer to whom u want to make partial delivery, in the master data of that customer u have to tick the field partial deliveries, also any time in any delivery , delivering quantity and picking quantity shod be same. If u check both of this ur problem is going to be resolved.

  • IFFT is slow, if input is NaN

    Dear users,
I am posting an answer to a question, which bothered me for some time. I was working out, why a certain part of my program runs slowly. Well, the answer was that the slow part performed an inverse FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) on an input, which was an array of NaN. If iFFT receives an array of NaN, it takes orders of magnitude longer to process the data. On my array of 7601 cells, the ratio of execution time was 0.1ms (using meaningful) to 120ms (using NaN data) in average. I corrected the code with a case structure as follows:
I am posting this fact and the issue, because I was suprised very much about this behaviour. I know, many functions can easily and quickly process NaN data. But iFFT.
    Cheers,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Craig, similar to the matlab discussion mentioned earlier, LabVIEW shows the same difference between 32 and 64bit versions. One of the responses seems to hint at some sse issues).
    LabVIEW 2013(SP1) 32bit: 220x slower for NaN
LabVIEW 2013(SP1) 64bit: Same speed for NaN!!!!
(And yes, the 64bit version is quite a bit faster overall for good data... 10.5µs vs 13.5µs on my machine)
Does the FFT use the Intel MKL? (maybe we can blame Intel )
LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .
