  • Error when opening Data Form

    Hi All,
Also I have tried by removing access for that user and opened the Dta Form but still it throwing me the same error:
You are trying to open the data form, but cannot because all of the required dimensions are not present. Possible causes may be that you do not have access to at least one member of a required dimension, or the member selection resulted in no members present. Contact your administrator
    Kindly guide me.

  • Slow to Load Prepopulated PDF Form in Workspace

We experience that sometimes it takes a long time (abt 10-15 sec) to load a prepopulated PDF form in Workspace. This is not acceptable by our users. They expect that the prepopulated PDF form to be displayed below 5 sec.
FYI, we use customised Default Render service to prepopulate the data retrieved from multiple remote DB server (Oracle 8i and SQL Server 2005) into the PDF Form. In particular, we retrieved about 1500 rows of employee information (ID and name) from Oracle DB View to be populated into a dropdownlist in PDF Form.
Please find below the server and client machine spec:
    SERVER:
    IBM XSERIES_3650
Intel Xeon CPU 5160 @3.00 GHz
2.99 GHz, 4.00 GB of RAM
Windows Server 2003 SP1 Standard Ed
    CLIENT:
    512 MB of RAM
    Windows XP Pro SP2
    Adobe Reader 8
    Adobe Flash Player 9
    Internet Explorer 6
Does anyone can give us advice what to check/investigate to determine the root cause of the problem and how to improve the performance? Thanks.

At first, we also guessed that the 1500 rows query is the one which cause the slowing down. However, this is what we observe:
    - Whenever the client machine is restarted, the time it takes to load and display LiveCycle ES Sample MortgageLoan-Prebuilt PDF form in Workspace will be slow (more than 10s). Subsequent try of loading the PDF form will be faster (2-3s)
    - Whenever the client machine is restarted, the time it takes to load and display our prepopulated PDF form in Workspace will be slow (15-25s). Subsequent try of loading the PDF form will be faster (5-7s)
    - In our custom Default Render process, we write trace message to server.log file at the start and end of the process. We noticed, the time it takes between the start and the end of the process is consistently about 2-5s which include retrieval of 1500 db records.
    Please advice.

Any ideas what might be wrong?
All I tried to do is just to edit period in POV-selections -tab.

I figured a way around this in case anyone has the same problem in the future. I just opened Acrobat Pro X, clicked combine files into PDF, selected the file I wanted, saved the "binder" as PDF then saved another version as Reader Extended PDF. I think this helped because it essentially creaded a whole new PDF with the old PDF in it and getting rid of whater hashes or document properties in the last one that wouldn't allow it to work in Reader. Opens perfectly on other computers.

Recently RH 9 runs very slow when I open my project, I even cannot open a folder in the Project Manager pod. I think maybe there are some corrupt files cause it.
Anyone has experience please help me. Thank you.

How did you bring the files in to the project, via Windows Explorer? If so that will not have helped.
Have you tried deleting the CPD file and then reopening the project?
Is the project on a local drive?

  • Opening composite form from workspace in SmartView (global dimensions prob)

There is a composite form consists of 2 sections, 1 form in the upper and 3 in the lower part, 3 global dimensions, 1 section dimension for lower section. If i change some global dimensions a form itself is changed properly, all simple forms change their point of view (pages dimension), but when i open this form using "Open in SmartView" feature from Hyperion interface changes of global dimensions are not applied to simple form EXCEPT upper form and active form in lower section. I'd like to note that changes of section dimension are applied properly for all simple form of whole section.
Also when i'm trying to change some page dimension in opened form in smartview my excel simply crashes
Could anybody share an advice how to fix it or if it is fixable at least?

Dimensions in composite forms are global, in simple form they all are the same, so global dimensions are set properly. The problem is exactly in opening composite form FROM Web-interface HP into SmartView, for example if global dimension is set to October, and i open this in SmartView i would see October only on form, which were active at the moment of opening.
For example, 1 form upper setion, 3 froms lower section, ilvl0Descendnats(YearTotal) is global, i open form in web-interface, switch to 2nd form in lower section and change point of view to October, open in SmartView, 4 sheets are opened in excel, october would be set properly on a sheet with form from upper section and 2nd form from lower section, two other form from lower section would be have January set. Hope it's clear now.
The trouble is not in form settings but in "Open in SmartView" feature

  • Slow performance while integrating data with ODI while open report

In ODI i have a schedulled package that runs every 4 hours, this package loads data from an DB table to BAM.
Normally each execution loads about 4000 records and takes about 7 seconds to be completed.
However, in some executions the same 4000 records take about 30 minutes to be loaded into BAM; normally this happens when a user has a BAM report open in the browser.

    Hi Manisha,
When previewing a report, Report Designer need connect to the report data sources, run dataset queries, cache the data on the local computer, process the report to combine data and layout, and render the report. The report processor also runs all the queries
for datasets in the report using the current parameter defaults, and saves the results as a local data cache (.rdl.data) file.
The first time that previewing a report that relies on a server reference. In your scenario, you can try to improve preview performance through the link below:

  • Error while opening data form

When I am trying to open forms I am getting the following error.
"Planning is Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator"
My case is a bit different from the other threads on the similar topic in the forum.
I am able to login using ESSCMD.
Can anyone suggest what should I do next?

    Thank you for your reply.
I installed Essbase and Planning recently. I am using version System9.
    I created only one application.
I checked Datasource connections, the Essbase username and password are correct.

  • Hyperion planning data form in smartview: problem with summary time period

We are using Planning ver. 11.1.2.2.300.20 and smartview 11.1.2.2.300 (build 070)
    We use common Data Form:
In columns: Periods (Descendants including YearTotal - with no checkbox on start expanded)
    In Rows :accounts
In some of our users computers,
When they open Data Form in Excel (with Smart View) - its appears very strange:
Summary Accounts are displayed as level 0 account in the summary Period columns (i.e. not in grey) and permit entering data.
In addition when Entering data in summary time period (i.e. Year or Quarter),
strangely,  the data doesn't  spread to the descendants months (level 0) .
This phenomenon occurs just in few of the computers.
Please help, how can we overcome this problem?
    Thanks and Regards
    Tami Kedem

    Hi Celvin,
    Thanks for your rapid response!
All computers have the same version of planning and smartview.
The computers where the Periods spreading and aggregation properties in Data form are not working,
do work wonderfully when opening the Data forms in the web.
I've tried everything, (remove suppressing, validations etc.):
In all kind of data forms the spreading and aggregation properties on summary time periods are not working in smartview -
and summary accounts on rows are not displayed in grey and permit entering data.
We remove and reinstall MS-Office (2007) from the problematic computers, but it didn't help.
Do you know if there is any kind of settings or softwares that might cause this phenomenon
i.e. interrupts the smartview translation of the web Data Forms.
    Thank and best regards,
    Tami Kedem

  • Error entering data in a data form using Smart View

One of my user is facing an issue while entering data in a data form through Excel, if she uses the same data form in workspace she is able to enter data. She is facing the issue while entering in a specific column, for all other columns she is able to enter data in the data form. It is only one column for which she is facing issue while using smart view/excel and not workspace, as in workspace she is able to enter data.

  • Data forms new requirement, Members need to hide for diff combination

    Hi All,
    I have a new requirement
I have created asymmetric forms and created a extra member in period dimension as per required.(Extra member name is ABC)
In layout page view i have given scenario dimension with members called budget,Actual,Forecast.
now when open data form combination to budget scenario Extra member has to appear,
if you select Forecast Extra members should not appear in the form.
am in mess how to achieve this requirement can any one help me out in acheiving this requirement.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sm

    Hi,
Assuming you have accounts on the rows and periods on the columns, try this solution:
Create two account members called RowSuppresser (store) and RowSuppresserDyn (dynamic). Retrieve RowSuppresser in Excel combined with ABC (period) and Budget (scenario) along with one default member from all other dimension (i.e. no entity, no year etc). input a flag amount (0 or 1) and lock and send to Essbase. Member formula in RowSuppresserDyn should point to this particular input (i.e. RowSuppresser->"No Year"->"No Entity" etc.
Add a row on top of all other rows in your form and select (RowSuppresserDyn) account member. You can even hide this row if you wish. In the column where you added ABC period, enable suppress missing data. So when Budget is selected, this column appears, otherwise is gone.

  • Printer redirection Slow performance

We have a Remote Desktop Server 2008R2.
When a user logs in (trough TS Gateway) with Printer redirection enabled (Using Easy Print method) the performance is very bad.
It's not printing that is slow, it's the performance of the RDP Session/server
For our test we disabled AntiVirus on the server.
Fox example: A user logs in with Local Printers, opening a small Doc file takes about 10 seconds. If the user logs of and logs in without local printers the doc file opens within a second.
Also generally everything is much faster without printer redirection.
The server is fully updated and we are using the most recent RDP Client.
The server is connected to an internet connection with 50/5 Mb Down/Up speed.

    Hi,
I did a couple of tests:
    - Step1: Removed all local printers, logged on with printer redirection enabled on the RDP client. Result: No performance problems with opening DOC files.
    - Step2: Added printer 1, logged on. Result: Slow performance with opening DOC files.
    - Step3: Removed printer 1, added printer2, logged on. Result: Slow performance with opening DOC files.
    - Step4: Repeated Step3 with all printers. Result: Slow performance with opening DOC files.
So it doesn't matter which printer we add, it always results in slow performance. The printers are all from different brands. I happens with all user accounts, also with users that are Domain Admins.
    OS:
RDS Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
    Client: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
We monitored the CPU and Memory usage while starting Word, the cpu's doesn't use more then 4% utilization and the memory usage is low.
The Remote Desktop Services server has Office 2003 installed with SP3. We cannot upgrade Office to 2007/2010 because it's incompatible with our database.
Can it be that Word 2003 is loading the redirected printers while opening a document what is causing the slow performance?
    Kind regards,
    Bas

  • IPad air slow performance

Hello there I bought a new iPad air 32 4g model and I have been noticing slow performance when opening a pictures of an app in the AppStore
knowing that I didn't face this problem an iPad 2  also I have restore the iPad air and still the problem is there

I had a 3rd Generation iPad on iOS 7.0.4. It's what I sold to buy the Air. It was terrible. I mean if the criteria you are using is efficiency and speed in moving around and using the OS, then it was terrible.
Safari was sluggish in scrolling with basic pages, closing apps, opening new ones, the Music app would take 4 to 5 seconds to open with a small library of around 12 to 15 artists. Tapping on items would result in a delay leading you to thinking you missed it and hitting it again.
I think the criteria you are using is "Did it work", then yes. Did it work well? Certainly not. It was a bit like Windows on an Intel Celeron CPU. it worked but drove most of us mad with how poor it performed.

  • Slow Performance Over time, Drawing Access Forms

we've been using a small access database for almost a year now, written from scratch using only Access 2013
over time drawing of one of the forms slows right down, once the form is draw its fine, but if you switch to a different form at the top then switch back it draws slow, maybe 7-8 seconds compared to the usual 1 second, sometimes it can work all day no problem,
sometimes after an hour it starts drawing the form slow, the only way to cure it is to restart the machine.
Logging off and logging back on doesn't cure it, only restarting it, it does get restarted every night automatically as an attempt to help the problem
this happens on 2 machines, both have intel HD graphics, (previously one was using a NVidia GT 250 which had appalling performance in design mode (even with hardware acceleration disabled) so we switched to the on-board, although this issue happens
    with both machines)
Back end gets compacted/and repaired every night on a schedule as I did notice a big slow down if you let that go a couple of weeks, I've decompiled/recompiled the front end, short of re-writing the form I'm not sure what to do, it does have a lot of controls,
around 30 textboxes 1 combo box + 20 or so labels and 4 buttons, one embedded report, it only happens on this one form, I have embedded reports in other forms which don't have the same issue and have the same number of controls.
I'm a bit of a loss, its not a huge issue, but just an annoyance, when I get time I'm tempted to try recreating the form from scratch, but there is a lot of VBA code behind it, before trying that just wondering if there are any suggestions to improve performance?
*edit* the form is loaded from a list of customers, so it gets opened closed a lot, I thought simply hiding the form instead of loading/unloading all the time would speed it up, it does slightly improve the speed after viewing the second lot of details,
however it suffers the safe fate of slowing down over time, it seems to be only drawing the form and not accessing the db

I think you would benefit from a code review by a strong Access developer. What you are describing is not normal and may be caused by systematic programming choices.
    -Tom. Microsoft Access MVP
Just wondering, once this does happen going into design mode on any form is slow to draw, but only the one form at runtime once it starts happening.
the only visible difference apart from waiting is seeing the 'property sheet' on the right hand side gets visibly drawn left to right on any form once this happens, switch back to form view you see it get wiped out slowly, fade from left to right as it blanks
    the form out
I had this 'slow' behaviour constantly with the NVidia card in one of our machines, even on new blank databases.
I'm not even sure if this is linked to the form I've made or not, its just the only reason I notice it is that it's frustrating to use.
Is this code review idea something that people volunteer to check or is it a paid service?
