Slow printing problem

Hi,
I have bought the Officejet 6500A plus recently and i use the wireless /network connection.
When i try to print a file from a program like word it prints the file very fast, but when i try to print a page from a web page (the all page as it is in the web)  it is extremely slowly.
I have checked in the setup  of the printer and my network connection summary looks just fine.
Help is needed, what or where i i m doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Oren

When I print out a spread sheet it sometimes takes 30, 40, 60 minutes to finish. a page.  What good is wireless printing if it takes forever?

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Slow Printing Problem on Dell 3000cn

I have just downloaded Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, I want to buy it but not if this problem continues - maybe there is a fix??
I have Acrobat 9 Pro installed on my local machine and I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. I have a networked (through a server) printer it is a Dell 3000cn that I print several emailed PDF files on everyday. Since downloading this new program (it required me to remove all other versions of Adobe prior to install - which I did) it seriously takes 2 minutes from when I hit the print button to actually open the printer selection screen. Once I have selected the printer (in this case it is the 3000cn - it is the only color printer) it takes another 2 minutes to actually print the document. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by a process taking so long but I have to do this with an average of 20-30 documents per day (which means that I end up spending around 1 1/2 hours trying to print).
I have combed through the forums here and can't find anything that helps my specific problem. I have checked with Dell and they say that the printer does not have a PostScript driver (which I have read may help my problem)...
    Any ideas??

Make a local printer your DEFAULT and see if that helps
I only use a local printer (with version 8x) so didn't keep the link, but there is previous discussion about problems if you don't have a local printer as default... and, if I remember correctly, a link to download a "dummy" printer driver which you may install and set as default

  • Laserjet pro 400 m401dw slow printing problem

When my printer gets a job, of say 125 pages, it prints very sporadically. It will print a page and then pause for 10 - 20 seconds before printing another page. It continues this way for the entire document, often taking an hour or more to print the 125 page document. I recently uninstalled and reinstalled the driver (using the driver recommended to me by the HP Tech Support tech when I called). Any thoughts???

    Hi Nick_D,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/

  • Very slow printing on 10.6 server

    Hi,
I've got a Mac Mini Server running up to date SL server. I have two printers hooked up to it, one HP laserjet and one Canon Pixma. Both up to date drivers. The printer server is set up and both printers work perfectly when printing locally from the server. The printers are shared using IPP and are visible through Bonjour as 'printer @ server'
The problem arises when I print from my MB. Printing does work but it's painfully slow, taking up to five minutes to start printing. The job doesn't appear in the print server log until well after i've sent it. I have tried both n wifi and gigabit ethernet connections (small text docs take as long to start).
Has anyone else experienced this? Have you resolved it? If so, how?!
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. I find that clients, Windows, Mac, Linux and OS/2 all exhibit the same problem as you describe when they attempt to print over the network to USB connected printers located on the server while printing from the server itself presents no problems.
The Mac clients provide most information suggesting that the system seems to be searching for something critical to the print process and taking quite some time to find it. When the client finally connects, the print job executes with normal speed. The connection process can take 2-3 minutes on my network.
Attaching the printers to a print server or another client restores printing efficiency. As this essentially provides an ethernet based printing capability, it suggests that the problem relates to operation under USB.
I also learned that OSX Snow Leopard Server does not natively support sharing of USB printers and must be shared through the CUPS process at localhost"631.
Unfortunately, while this allows the printers to be shared across the network, it doesn't provided a solution to the slow printing problem.
I've checked to see that print sharing is active from the Server Admin window and also that queues had been established for the printers. Clients were set up to print directly to the IPP queues and while the print job would eventually print, printing delays still existed.
I also looked at DNS configuration and local host naming but found everything to be in order.
For practical reasons, I have been forced for the moment to service printing requirements by hosting printers on ethernet based print servers or PC/MAC print servers which operates effective but requires in my view an unnecessary additional investment in hardware.
As both of my printers are still quite serviceable, I have no intention of re-investing in ethernet capable printers to work around this problem.
What I think is required is additional coding within Snow Leopard Server to support native USB printing. From what I've seen here in this discussion group, it's current and prolific problem which Apple should be addressing.

  • Printing problems with CS3

Whenever I go to print an ID or AI file for the first time it is beyond slow. It does not matter if it is a large file (although ID files of any size are very slow, 30 seconds or more just to scroll to a new page) or a small file, I get a minute or more of beach ball before the print dialog box comes up. After the first print, it prints instantly for the rest of the time the app is open. Has anyone else seen this in CS3? Any fix?

I haven't tried opening anything as a new user. Is this a known solution to slow printing problems? I don't see the connection. I'm not sure how to create a new user (although I'm sure it's pretty simple.) I'm the only person who uses this computer, so it's never come up. Thanks for the advice, however, I'll give it a try.

  • How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

Try scanning from your Mac.  Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom.  Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • Hp laserjet M1530dnf MPF slow printing

The  technical specification for this printer is a print speed of 26 ppm.  Last night I attempted to print a 31 page PDF file. It printed nine pages in 22 minutes before I cancelled the print job.  I have an HP Deskjet 6600 for color printing.  I sent the same file, set for B&W, to that printer. It completed printing all 31 pages in less than six minutes.  Both printers use a wireless connection.  Printer drivers for both were updated on 12 Apr 15.  All Microsoft updaters have been applied.  The 6600 is about three years old.  I've had the M1530dnf Laserjet for about 45 days.  This is just the most egregious example of the Lasterjet's abominably slow printing. Even a five page Word document can take between 3-to-5 minutes. The device manager reports the printer is working properly, but that is obviously not the case.
Any thoughts on where to go next are appreciated.  The printer is still under warrenty, so I can take the problem back to HP. If thast's my option, does anyone have as good phone number to use? I used the number on the support web site and went through three people and over half-hour on hold only to get disconnected.  I'd like to streamline that process by contacting the right person on the first call.

As it turned out, the problem was traced to a needed firm ware update.  HP did a remote control section, had the problem isolated very quickly, performed the correction, and all within a half-hour the printer was back where it should be,
Everybody gets kudus for helping; everything you suggested got me closer and closer.  Completeing the steps you outlined  helped me sound a lot more intelligent.  When I spoke to HP, I had accounted for most of the possible variables.  That way, the time with them was much more productive.

  • HP Color LaserJet 3500n - Slow Printing in Snow Leopard

I've installed all of the HP Printer Updates for Snow Leopard (even manually downloaded the latest entire HP Printer Update), Reset the Printing System and reinstalled all of my printers, but I still continue to have an issues where it takes over 4 minutes for the first page of a print job to print... This is a network printer with an external HP JetDirect (Model #J7942A) box and the slow printing occurs with all Snow Leopard machines. Firmware for both the Printer and the JetDirect box are at the latest versions...
I did notice that Apple's kb article indicates that the latest print driver for this printer is 1.0.2, but my driver indicates 1.0.1... Is the kb article incorrect? Any ideas why I'm not getting the 1.0.2 driver? Suggestions?

I've got the same problem with a Color Laserjet 3550 + JetDirect en3700.
For security reasons, I disabled SNMP v1/v2 on JetDirect. Everythings works fine on Leopard.
I got this problem after upgrading to Snow Leopard (ver. 10.6.2 with HP printer driver 1.0.1).
Looking at network traffic with Wireshark, I've noticed some timeout on SNMP v2 packet directed to the printer.
I've enabled SNMP v1+v2 on JetDirect and now everithings works fine, but security problems related to unsecure SNMP version are now open.
I've upgraded HP printer driver, but I can't find driver version 1.0.2, as mentioned in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP.
    Any suggestion?

    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet pro 8610 is printing PDF files very slow, and I am happy to help you with this slow printing issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following information:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If the printer prints slow from Notepad.

  • Printing multiple copies results in slow printing

    Hello!
We currently print a lot of color prints on our new printer (xerox WC 7345) but found out that it takes a lot longer than it use to take.
Example: We print a catalog with 56 pages 10x. (pdf 68mb) from Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.
The old printer would just send each page once, and the first set will print slow (the printer needs to calculate the images) but the other 9 set's will go fast.
The new printer send's each page separately and the printer needs to calculate each page, resulting in a very slow print job.
When we print from InDesign, we dont experience slow printing (just like the old printer)
Is there  somebody else with the same problem or can anyone tell me were to look for?
    Regards,
    Reinier Steenis

Turn off the collate option will make you collate, but will result in a faster print job. If it works fine in ID, then I'd suggest you look at the two set of printer options.

HP PSC 1350xi all-in-one printer (driver version 2.0.4) started printing very very slowly and now is taking up to 20 minutes to print (before i lose interest).
Also tried, unsuccessfuly to print in test mode. Nothing came out.
When printing from computer, paper is moveing very slowly, and often jamming with multiple pages. Already unplugged to reboot, reinstalled the software. Relatively new ink....  spooling is very slow with flashing green light
using macBook Air with current operating system wired to printer by USB. Similar problems when using the wireless connecting through my wireless router. Similar problems with my wife's macbook air.

  • PRINTING PROBLEM IN REPORTS

I am facing following printing problems in Developer 2000 (Report Builder).
    1. By default Developer 2000 report building is printing in BMP Mode which is very slow on Dotmatrix Printers (LQ/FX).
    2. I want to fast my printing speed on Dotmatrix printers. I have done a tremendous efforts in this regard but all in vain.
    3. The printer carriage must print two line of printing data in one circle. Example: For going to right must print one line and coming to back towards must printing second line. (Printing like DOS Mode).
An early reply to my question will be much appreciated.

It may be useful to give a try in Character Mode.
Change the MODE in System Parameter to CHARACTER.(Caoution:You may not see any postscript things)
