Slow response from Webmail Proxy on the first SSL connection

Hi,
I encounter a queer problem with Messenger Express 5.2 patch1, acting as a http proxy (Mesenger Express Multiplexor) for another Messaging 5.2P1.
The first time a user tries to connect through HTTPS since a certain amount of time, it takes about one minute to get the webmail login page. And then it takes one more minute to have the user authenticated after it enters the credentials.
The next connections are almost immediate.
Has anyone already seen this problem ?
The same server doesn't show this problem when connecting on port 80 without SSL.
It looks like the encryption keys exchange negociation takes a very long time.
Can this come from a compatibility problem between the client (Communicator 4.75, IE5 or IE6) and the server ?
Are there recommandations regarding Internal Encryption modules and/or server certificates ?
(Algorithms , key length...)
Any answer would be appreciated.

1. Basically, there's a problem on one of the servers which the ASC is hosted on.
2. It's not at your end. Nothing needs to be or can be done on your devices to resolve it.
3. No.

  • I'm experiencing extremely slow response when attempting to open the control center from the lock screen, any suggestions?

When trying to access the control center from the lock screen, it takes anywhere from 2 to MANY swipes to get a response.  Never opens on the first try.

I'm not having the same problem, but there is a feature in the OS that attempts to discern from swipes to unlock and swipes to open control center. This is what you may be experiencing.

  • New OIF installation - Very slow response from OHS

    Hi,
I've installed two instances of OIF 10.1.4.0.1 in order to create a test configuration to test XASP Attribute Sharing (i.e., we are not doing any other profiles).
Both OIF instances are using a separate instance of Sun Directory Server as its User Data Store, and both are using in-memory for Transient Data Store and have no Federation Data Store. Both OIF instances were installed similarly, using the "BASIC" installation choices, and are running on separate Redhat Linux servers.
The problem that we're seeing is very slow (10+ seconds to 30+ seconds) responses, even when we try to access a static HTML test page that we've placed in the OHS htdocs directory.
We've eliminated any networking problems as possibilities by a couple of tests that we've done, including shutting down the OHS and running a small, different test web server listening on port 7777. When we do that, response time for requests from that web server is almost instantaneous.
We are also seeing the same slow response when we try to access the test HTML page from the same server itself.
We have an SR open with Oracle, but so far, we've not been able to identify what the problem might be, so I'm hoping that perhaps someone else may have encountered this problem and have a resolution.
It is really puzzling because, as I said, this is a pretty vanilla default OIF installation, and it is doubly puzzling because even getting a tiny static HTML page is taking 10+ seconds. Also, I had installed OIF 10.1.4.0.1 on a Windows machine previously, and I don't see this problem on that earlier installation.
If anyone here has any insight into this problem, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,
I think I was able to temporarily eliminate this slow response problem. I think that the slow response problem is related to another problem that I posted about in the "Application Server - General" forum (see below, and Port 7200 conflict?
    Jim
======= POSTED to Application Server - General forum ============
I think that I was able to temporarily work around this problem, plus another problem that I think is related (see: New OIF installation - Very slow response from OHS
What I did was to just comment out the "include" line for "dms.conf" in the Apache httpd.conf.
Doing that got rid of the "Address already in use" errors I was seeing in Apache error_log and also eliminated the slow response I was seeing from Apache/OHS (see that other post in "Identity Management" forum), BUT I am getting new errors about Apache not being able to find "htdocs/dms/Spy0".
I have the impression that dms is some kind of process monitoring system that Oracle has in 10gAS infrastructure? So, I have some questions:
    1) What's the effect of dms not working?
    2) Is it possible to just disable dms?
I hope that Oracle support can come up with a "real" fix for both problems, but in the meantime, as long as what I did doesn't break anything else besides dms, we can at least test the OIF stuff.

Well, you could simply have a gigazillion fonts on your system that mess with the text engine. in that case some serious weeding out of fonts that you never use would help immensely. Otherwise you can always turn off hardware acceleration in the preferences, assuming the issue is related to that...

I got a new iPhone 4 for Christmas. It is constantly overheating and getting insanely hot when charging. My battery life is suffering, it takes hours to charge and loses battery life very quickly. How can I prevent my device from getting hot in the first place? I use it in a room temperature environment and only have about 2 apps running at one time.

Idealy you should move your itunes content from your old computer to your new one
    Here are your options
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Then just sync your iPhone with the new computer. It will ask to erase but as everything in in your new itunes this is OK. Then choose what to sync back onto your iphone
If you no longer have the old computer here is how to restore your library from the iPhone
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Then you can sync your machine with the new computer.
If you do not care about this and just want to extract the items mentioned
I found this and it will extract your Contacts and messages.

  • Can we change the UCCX server from single node to the first node without affecting it's configurations

How I could configure this from single node to the first node without affecting it's configurations..??????

    Hi Aaron,
How could we do the change on Imhost file. How we add the both servers in that file?
Below is the Imhost file txt.
    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    # This is a sample LMHOSTS file used by the Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to computernames
    # (NetBIOS) names.  Each entry should be kept on an individual line.
    # The IP address should be placed in the first column followed by the
    # corresponding computername. The address and the computername
    # should be separated by at least one space or tab. The "#" character
    # is generally used to denote the start of a comment (see the exceptions
    # below).
    # This file is compatible with Microsoft LAN Manager 2.x TCP/IP lmhosts
    # files and offers the following extensions:
    #      #PRE
    #      #DOM:
    #      #INCLUDE
    #      #BEGIN_ALTERNATE
    #      #END_ALTERNATE
    #      \0xnn (non-printing character support)
    # Following any entry in the file with the characters "#PRE" will cause
    # the entry to be preloaded into the name cache. By default, entries are
    # not preloaded, but are parsed only after dynamic name resolution fails.
    # Following an entry with the "#DOM:" tag will associate the
    # entry with the domain specified by . This affects how the
    # browser and logon services behave in TCP/IP environments. To preload
    # the host name associated with #DOM entry, it is necessary to also add a
    # #PRE to the line. The is always preloaded although it will not
    # be shown when the name cache is viewed.
    # Specifying "#INCLUDE " will force the RFC NetBIOS (NBT)
    # software to seek the specified and parse it as if it were
    # local. is generally a UNC-based name, allowing a
    # centralized lmhosts file to be maintained on a server.
    # It is ALWAYS necessary to provide a mapping for the IP address of the
    # server prior to the #INCLUDE. This mapping must use the #PRE directive.
    # In addtion the share "public" in the example below must be in the
    # LanManServer list of "NullSessionShares" in order for client machines to
    # be able to read the lmhosts file successfully. This key is under
    # \machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters\nullsessionshares
    # in the registry. Simply add "public" to the list found there.
    # The #BEGIN_ and #END_ALTERNATE keywords allow multiple #INCLUDE
    # statements to be grouped together. Any single successful include
    # will cause the group to succeed.
    # Finally, non-printing characters can be embedded in mappings by
    # first surrounding the NetBIOS name in quotations, then using the
    # \0xnn notation to specify a hex value for a non-printing character.
    # The following example illustrates all of these extensions:
    # 102.54.94.97     rhino         #PRE #DOM:networking  #net group's DC
    # 102.54.94.102    "appname  \0x14"                    #special app server
    # 102.54.94.123    popular            #PRE             #source server
    # 102.54.94.117    localsrv           #PRE             #needed for the include
    # #BEGIN_ALTERNATE
    # #INCLUDE \\localsrv\public\lmhosts
    # #INCLUDE \\rhino\public\lmhosts
    # #END_ALTERNATE
    # In the above example, the "appname" server contains a special
    # character in its name, the "popular" and "localsrv" server names are
    # preloaded, and the "rhino" server name is specified so it can be used
    # to later #INCLUDE a centrally maintained lmhosts file if the "localsrv"
    # system is unavailable.
    # Note that the whole file is parsed including comments on each lookup,
    # so keeping the number of comments to a minimum will improve performance.
    # Therefore it is not advisable to simply add lmhosts file entries onto the
    # end of this file.

  • Itunes deleted album art from all tracks except the first from each album.

I spent so many hours adding the album art to every track of the 1100 albums on my ipod. And recently after connecting my ipod to itunes the artwork has been deleted from every track except the first of each album.
So i can still see all the albums in coverflow but when listening to individual tracks past track one the art disappears. Is there any way that i can get the art back on all my tracks without spending 100 hours on amazon?

How do I remotely unlock an iPad using the Find My Phone app from my iPhone once the iPad is connect to WiFi?

I'm not sure about the apps, but to prevent theft, you'll also need to disable the power button and the ability to restore the ipad. You might also want to superglue in your Sim card because if they remove that, it wont be tracked unless they connect to WiFi.
Also, I'm not so sure it is an app on the iPad. I think it is built into the mail, calendar and contacts options if you have a Mobile me account.  http://www.apple.com/ipad/find-my-ipad-setup/

It needs the user password for the wireless router, that would have been set by whomever installed the router, if that was you then try to find the password. If you can not find the password reset the router to factory default and set it up again.

the heap usage reach 100% and the drop off suddenly. If this is the
case, consider increasing your heap, if that isnt an option.. Try
checking your code to make sure everything that is called is
    destroyed.
That may help... If not it could be JDBC,other connectivity, or code.
But try that 1st and let me know.

  • Slow response from DPS

I am seeing a very slow response time from our Directory Proxy Server.

I am assuming the problem lies in a misconfiguration in the "default connection handler" .
I can provide additional info upon request.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1 second for a query seems very slow...
Did you really measure 1s on the client side or did you get that number from the proxy logs ? Note that times shown in DPS logs may be inaccurate to some extends. For more info about that , have a look at

  • Not getting response from Client Proxy

    Hi,
We are developing a scenario - File->PI->Proxy using ABAP Proxies. We are posting a file thru PI 7.0 to R/3 .In R/3 the server proxy(Inbound Asynchronous) will receive the message and BAPI will be called. The response from the BAPI will be reaching the server proxy and passed to the client proxy(Outbound Asynchronous).
       Server Proxy(request) --> BAPI --> Server Proxy(response) --> Client Proxy(response)
The response from the client proxy has to be send to PI and a file will be generated as the output.
Can anyone provide me suggestions to call client proxy from a server proxy by passing the response message to client proxy???
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Dibyajyoti

    Hi,
I hope, you are done till the Implementation of Server Proxy, where you are calling a Bapi and passing the Input variables the Interface received and BAPI is giving a response back.
Now your question, how to send the response back Asynchronously.
I think, you have to do the same, what you do for a client proxy  and at last  call the method EXECUTE_ASYNCHRONOUS before the Final Commit Staement. I think this should work.
But using Synchronous Interface in such cases is always a handy and easier option.

My Question is this, why isn't our system finding the response structure (or more to the point why isn't it successfully able to interpret the response?).  The 'processWorkOrderReturn' element appears to be in the response and in fact appears to be correct.  Am I missing something?<br><br>
    Thanks,<br>

    Hi Axel,
Yes, I was able to eventually solve the problem.  The problem was caused by the raw data of the response coming back from the server.  The raw response included an XML tag with no namespace xmlns="".  The SAP system failed to interpret this tag and consequently was not able to process the rest of the message.  I wish the error messages had been a little more clear, but I was able to actually (eventually) debug into the soap runtime engine and spotted that it was failing when attempting to intepret the specific tag ' processWorkOrderReturn xmlns="" '.  From there it was just trial and error to figure out that it needed to have a namespace supplied that matched the definition in the WSDL file.
Hope your problem is as easy to solve as ours was.
