I have been running a system reset for over 4 hours now and it's still on 7%. What do I do? It's a hp envy core i7....kindly help

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

What is the deal with System Reset/Refresh in Windows 8.1?
Either this is a serious defect with the Windows Store-provided update for Windows 8.1 or Microsoft has done this intentionally but doing an update to Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store-provided service nukes your ability to use System Reset/Refresh.
It claims files are missing which means that the update erased the necessary reset files from the HDD but didn't replace them during the update with Windows 8.1 compatible equivalents.
I had to do a System Reset on one of my computers and I ended up having to get a Windows 8.1 ISO from a less than reputable source just to get my hands around the necessary missing file and now I can't even activate it with my Windows 8 Pro upgrade
key. None of this would have been a problem if I could just perform the System Reset in place on Windows 8.1 and reset it back to a neutral, clean Windows 8.1 installation.
I've since managed to find a way to do the install the way I needed to but can someone please give me some clarity on this subject so I don't have to go through all this again (as I've got two other computers that run a Windows Store-updated Windows 8.1
installation and at least one of them is probably due for its own System Refresh)? What can I do to refresh a valid Windows 8.1 installation if I need to?
EDIT: Oh, and one more thing: one of those computers is an OEM-installed Windows 8 copy that was subsequently upgraded to 8.1 yet it too suffers from the "missing files" error when a System Refresh/Reset is requested. What

First, you perform a System Refresh for what ever reason. After the Refresh, within a few minutes get the Windows version watermark in the lower left corner of your desktop that shows the windows version and build. Then after that
you get another watermark above the first watermark that says you need to activate by going to **Change PC Settings***. From there you are on the activation screen and its state with out doing anything...**Activation Error Description Not Found.**
When you click "Activate Now" nothing happens. You briefly see "checking this key" and then nothing.
This is where the above mentioned Software Protection service is failing. <--- Needs to be fixed.
Now at this point I cannot attempt to do an online activation because the sppsvc.exe is producing the 0xC0000022 error

The Software Protection service runs when I activate my PCs that are getting a "Clean" installs, Just to test the theory I did a refresh install on the "clean" installed pc and **VOILA** SAME ERROR....
Let me clarify that one of the PCs has a dual partition and a complete re-install of the OS will mean some extensive work fixing the bootloader as well. I have 150 PCs to refresh and this is what happened on the first one, then the 2nd. I am
running these on a TechNet VL and have never had these issues in the last 3 years.
Listen to these people. ALL are having the same issue. There has to be a process to fix it. As difficult as it may seem, some of us don't mind spending a few extra minutes running administrative tasks to fix this instead of re-installing.
That's the novice way to fix the issues and the most painstaking for those of us who work 12-to 14 hrs a day and don't have the time. We need this fixed. PLEASE PLEASE

Hi,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Bios option ( usually f10 ) and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
Note: If the option to run these tests is not available in the Bios Menu, use the f2 diagnostic menu instead.
Can you also post back with the following details.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of your notebook - see Here for a guide on locating this information.
2. The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 64bit ).

Disk too slow / System overload HELP?
I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this!:
I purchased a G4 PowerBook around six months ago, with Logic Pro pre-installed. Since then, I have mixed and mastered lots of music that was recorded on a previous system and imported. I was running multiple tracks simultaneously with tons of plug-ins and everything ran smoothly on my new Mac. HOWEVER, within the last month, my playback capabilities have been severely reduced. When I try to play back even two tracks simultaneously (with just one compressor or reverb), I get the error message, "Disk too slow / System overload."
My first reaction to this problem was to check my disk space and see how much room I had left: it turns out I have over one third of my harddrive space still available. I checked my memory capabilities and they seem to be more than adequate. I bought new virus protection, too, and ran scans to see if that might make a difference, but it hasn't. I don't understand why this is happening on a system so new. ANY ADVICE YOU CAN OFFER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)It is generally not a good idea to run logic on the same drive that contains your audio files and samples. Most of the data involved with logic whether it be programs or individual audio files will be saved physically all over the place on your hard drive. At a certain point the actual part of the drive that reads the data will not be able to move around to all the little different audio files it needs to access for the session on top of running the program and whatever other software that is up. It is best to save all your audio files and samples to a fast external drive (7200rpm at least) otherworldcomputing.com has great drives that have high quality cases and the option to put any drive they have in stock into the case. (i would recommend seagate) If you are going to continue running your entire sessions off the internal drive then you need to keep up with your basic mac housekeeping. You should repair your permissions 2 times a month (use disk utility) You should buy a good directory repair program such as disk warrior. The directory is exactly what it sounds like. It keeps track of where everything is on the computer. If your directory is corrupt the computer will have to do an extra manual search to find what its looking for. If your directory is healthy your computer will make a straight shot to the file you are looking for.

There is no way for the end-user to perform anything other than a "revert to factory default settings" on a S40 phone like the 3120.

You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode.
iPad: Unable to update or restore
Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad. -
Why does VersaMail cause system reset after HotSync?
On a clean factory default setup Treo 650, I can set up one account -- my SprintPCS account -- on VersaMail and successfully use VersaMail to download and send emails. After a HotSync with my Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Memos and Tasks, I see the following errors in my sync log. Then, when I attempt to launch VersaMail, the 650 always immediately performs a system reset.

Thanks in advance for help on this, PalmOne. SprintPCS technical support has absolutely no experience as yet on this sort of problem. I was on the line for over an hour covering the same ground I had before calling them. Because this is related to two PalmOne software products -- HotSync and VersaMail, I figure you guys would have a better idea where to start troubleshooting and ultimately resolving this.

strange, too - and you might watch out for this if you have agendus installed on your treo - now when i click on the calendar button next to the phone button, the palm does a soft reset - VERY annoying. I haven't gone through the trouble of finding a fix for that one yet, but will search one of these days... -

Did all these things mentioned in this article, even did a system reset including erase data and other settings. iOS is up to date, still the iPad 2 display is not rotating.
This happened first a couple of weeks before, then I did a reset and it worked. Then after 2-3 days it happened again, I updated the iOS and it worked after that. Next time it happened, I tried all possible methods, including switching to software - rotation lock on/off. The hardware when turns to off/on, shows the correct icon on the screen of the lock and unlocked state. But the rotation is not happening.Just check again.
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If the iPad screen still will not rotate - turn it over and gently tap it on the back a couple of times - but gently tap it. Make sure that the screen is protected. -
I had one of our 3 node^s in a ring topo undergo automatic system resets.
According the troubleshooting guide an Automatic system reset occurs when you do an IP change or perform any other action that causes an automatic card-level reboot. The issue is that the node was not worked on at that time nor did any one else. What is strange is that the first error entry is an SNTP host failure and 3 seconds later the two TCS cards in slot 1-1 and slot 1-8 undergo an AUTORESET. I have read trough the troubleshooting guide version 9.4 but can not correlate the errors with this behaviour. I am unable to read the diagnistics file because this can only be read by Cisco. Underneath you will find all logging for last Sunday.

I see, you have ONS 15454 Multishelf Node and autoreset problem for TSC, AR_MXP and PSM.
Please attach your CTC Diagnostics file from ONS. I will try to analyze it.
If you have service contract, open a Cisco TAC case to correct your issue .

System Resets itself after about 1 to 2 hours use
Hi guys,
I had setup my system for about 2 months now. Bios is version 1.90.
I encountered my system resetting itself without warning, sometimes after 1 to 2 hours use, sometimes, even 30 minutes use. I am using Intel CPU stock fan and getting startup CPU temperature of 44 deg C and about 50 deg C after a few hours use. Sometimes, the system is stopped and shows the blue screen warning. A warm reset brings my system back up again.
Suspect:
1. Since I have many peripherals, I am worried about my PSU whether it is able to take it. The power calculator at http://www.adecy.com/psu/ recommended 570W. No way to get that man! I am willing to consider a new PSU of maximum 480W (within my budget) but if it means that I can continue to use the current PSU but with risk of shortened lifespan, I'm ok to stick to this.
2. Maybe the Y-Connectors cables might becomes loose sometimes. Thinking of changing the cables to better tight fitting ones (difficult to find though).
3. Overclocking - Don't think so because if I didnot remember wrongly, even at 2.8GHz without o/c, the sudden resets did happen before.

The 350W PSU does look on the light side. I don't have a good feel for the Canopus Storm 2 PCI card. Looked it up and it looks like it probably draws as much power as a top end video card. Also, the CPU power requirement goes up with overclocking. -
Installed OS X Maverick on Macs...having problems slower system and apps freezing
I installed and downloaded OS X Maverick last week and installed it in relatively new Macbook Pro and IMac...both purchased last year...have experienced applications freezing, slower start up time several times, once was unable to start my Macbook Pro...had to reboot..and slower system response...anyone else experiencing the same?
Checked to see how much space is available ??
Click your Apple menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage. Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
As for slow startup, delete all apps in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
Same for HD > Library > StartupItems
Anti virus software can slow your Macs down if installed. -

Alter system reset aq_tm_processes
Hi!
Trying to reset aq_tm_processes. First some background:
The aq_tm_processes parameter was first set in the pfile. We had to startup the DB using this file (tried removing it from the pfile also, not sure that worked as show parameter showed aq_tm_processes = 0).
But as we are using streams, aq_tm_processes, should not be set.
Well, I have done this:
1. Took down the DB.
2. Set the aq_tm_processes in the pfile to 2. (So I can issue the alter system command)
3. Startup nomount from pfile.
4. Created a new spfile form pfile.
5. Startup DB.
6. alter system reset aq_tm_processes scope=spfile sid='*';
7. Restarted the DB.
Is the aq_tm_processes now reset?
Show parameter shows the value 0.
alter system reset aq_tm_processes scope=spfile sid='*'
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-32010: cannot find entry to delete in SPFILE
It seems that the value is reset (as the parameter can not be found in the spfile). But Im still worried. Should the value show 0 if the parameter is reset?

PeterPeter, your question is not clear. Do you want the parameter to be set to 0? Run "show parameter aq", look at the value, if it is what you want, no problem. If it is not, set it to whatever value you want. Setting aq_tm_processes to 0 or not having it in your parameter file have the same effect.

I am doing the following to change the undo_suppress_errors parameter value, but the problem is that when I am resetting the parameter value back to its default, it is not doing that.
