Slow text rollover transition

I have rollover text boxes that are set for a fade in and
fade out transition of .5 seconds each way. The problem is, it
takes almost a full three seconds for the text to fade in once you
roll over the area. Have seen this on two different PCs with
Captivate 3 loaded. Viewing the movie as a SWF.

By chance have you changed your Frame Rate? Normally it's 30
Frames per second. But you see odd behavior sometimes if you change
it to something different.
To change the rate, click Edit > Preferences... >
Project node > Settings node.

Text Caption Transition--"Apply to All" is missing

Hello,
I just upgraded to Cp 5 (from 3) and love it, love it, love it.
I will be doing a demo at a conference next week (i.e., "Here is how you build a simple music listening exercise in Captivate...") and I want to demonstrate the "Apply to All" feature, but it seems to be missing for text captions. (The icon that appears in the upper-right corner for most other properties is not there in the text-caption transitions panel.)
I know I can probably set this globally in "Preferences" but the point is that I want to demonstrate the features of the program. So I "build" the project for the audience, then say "okay, if you don't like the transitions on the text captions, here's how you go back and change them all..." Except it seems that you can't. Screen shot is attached; any wisdom from fellow forumites is much appreciated!

Hello,
Transitions, Caption style, Character and Format do not have a separate Apply button, they can be changed together if you use the Apply to .. button (or Change Default style) in the upper part of the Property inspector. I can understand that you want also the Transition to be changed separately, please fill in a Feature request in that case.

Safari auto text is severely slowing text entry (the suggested text at the bottom of the screen is cool, but seems to cause a drag)
Aside from turning this nifty feature off, iOS8 safari seems it needs to be tuned to work properly.

Problem creating flash text rollover

I want to create a Flash text rollover using a font that is
properly installed and appears in all application font lists,
including Dreamweaver's. But when I select Insert > Media >
Flash Text, the dialogue box's font menu does not include this
font, which happens to be a symbol font that I really need to use
if at all possible. Does anyone know what's going on?

Image and Text rollover together not working

Hi,
I am trying to make a simple image thumbnail rollover with a text rollover at the same time. I would like to have the text able to be linked to different areas of my site to the image which is underneath. However I need to have the text cover the whole image area so that it recognises the rollover.
I have done my best to make it work in various ways with different effects but not the way I want it.
Here is the page that has the attempts at what I want.

The first one on the left works but I cannot keep the text in the same place on rollover.
The second I have pinned the text box to hold it there but it will not allow the image to have rollover as well. Also pinning does not work as it means when you scroll down the buttons stay there.
The third one works but there is an invisible button above text buttons that is aligned with them and taking you to the wrong place.
What is the correct way to do this?

can you check if ur facetime and imessage has complete the activation?
your current SIM card provides you with international sms function?
if not maybe u can try with a diff SIM?

Your rollroll links do not have enough specificity 'oomph' to
overrule the

Hey guys i love the new iMac and iMovie, but i want More text options and more transition options. i have a a friend that has an older version and has a LOT!! of extras for these two options i cant seem to find any, Can anybody help me, Please!!

Text caption transition

I have a slide with a stand-alone video (not a slide video). I also have a text caption below the video that I want to be static text. But no matter what I do with the text caption's properties, it fades in and out. I've set it to no transition, I've tried fading in only and setting the timing to 0...no effect. I have the text caption set to play for the side duration. Still no effect.
Am I missing something really elementary here?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Is this the first or the last slide of the file? I'm asking this because the default Start & End setting of a file is also to fade in/out. You can change that in the Preferences, Project, Start & End. I suppose you already checked the slide transition?

"resolving alias to" message using aliases on 10.6.8 plus slow text-selection behavior

Recently after no particular change to my Mac Pro3,2 running 10.6.8 other than some routine software updates, whenever I open an alias on my desktop to standard folders or files, a message shows up "Resolving alias to" whatever the alias name and there's a 2-3 second delay before the folder/file opens. I've found discussion of this issue in some archived discussions but never found a comfirmed solution described, so I'm raising this again. As in others' encounter with this behavior, the slow opening of aliases happens (1) only in my own user account, not in a guest account I set up for test purposes [I have no other user accounts than these], and (2) only happens the FIRST time I open an alias. Subsequent uses of the alias work normally.
Another strange but possibly related behavior that began at the same time as this alias delay is harder to describe but involves a problem when selecting text using mouse clicks or even highlighting with the mouse for editing. For example, to edit the name of a file or folder on my desktop, I would normally click on the file/folder name, pause a moment and click again: this puts me in edit mode with the current file/folder name highlighted/selected. Now when I attempt this procedure, the second time I click immediately opens the file/folder, as though I had double-clicked rather than clicked+paused+clicked. The only way I can select the name of the file/folder to edit it is to click+long pause (like 3 seconds)+click. Then the text is selected as desired. It's as though the clicks are being recognized (by whatever in the OS recognizes clicks) as much faster than actually made. There is a similar problem in any program I use that permits text editing, whether Word (Office 2011 for Mac), TextEdit, etc. I have to consciously slow down my cursor/click behavior when selecting text. If not, my actions are misinterpreted as double clicks. This text selection behavior also disappears when using a "Guest" user account, only appearing in my own user account. I Using a different mouse has no effect.
Steps taken so far. I've Repaired Disk Permissions and Verified Disk using Disk Utility, have Safe Booted, and have turned off all login items in my user account,and recently installed the 10.6.8 supplemental update, all to no avail. Any suggestions or has anyone had and solved this/these problems?

I think my problem has been that in Sytem Preferences>Mouse, my "Double-Click Speed" was set to the SLOWEST setting. After some experimentation, I now have the that setting two notches from the "Fast" end of the scale. In case it's important, the "Primary mouse button" in my Preferences is set to "Left".
This not only solves the text selection issues described, but also seems to eliminate the strange "resolving alias to" problem.
[For the curious, I have a Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse which can be configured with "Logitech Control Center". But the LCC software doesn't control double-click speed; this setting can only be made in the Mouse System Preference pane.]

can anyone help me and suggest what i can do regarding slow performance on my 5s, deleted and did a restore as a new phone and the texting worked fine but put my data back on and its back to the way it was running really slow

LdL, is the performance specific to one site? If you quit and relaunch Muse and create a new empty site and work with that briefly, is the performance normal or slow?
How large is your .muse file (in megabytes)?
Are you on Mac or Windows?
Where is the file stored (file server, local hard drive, in Dropbox folder, in Creative Cloud Files folder, etc.)?

Rolling text/image transition?

okay so i'm completely stumped on this one...i'm trying to
create an effect where when you click on a button like 'about us'
or 'services' the text/images/information on teh page rolls up from
the bottom (which i know how to do) but then i need it to roll up
and out of site when I click on a different button while the new
information rolls up from the bottom to replace the old
information..there is an example of it at this template if you
click on the menu buttons one at a time:

its obviously actionscript but I dont know how to signify that once
another button has been pushed then the current frame information
needs to transition out...you know what i mean?

Menu Text Rollover Possible?

I am a classical musician, and I'm creating a DVD of my work to send out to managers and potential sponsors. Towards that end, I've put together an iDVD project using the "Reflection Black" Theme provided within iDVD. For the most part, I'm quite happy with the results, however I am concerned that the way I've got my three musical selections laid out is not foolproof from a user navigation point of view. For a button shape, I'm using the leftwards-pointing arrow (from the Bullets sub-menu in the Buttons section). Here's how my menu of video-recorded musical selections is laid out, using the "greater-than" symbol as a stand-in here:
1. Brahms
2. Berlioz
3. Beethoven
My concern is that when the main screen comes up, the viewer will see these three composer's names, but not necessarily immediately understand how to access the three musical selections. If the user drags the pointer in the precise area of the buttons, they do appear in order, which I think indicates fairly clearly how to make the selection "hot" and thus "selectable". But I'd like users to be able to select the menu items without having to point to such precise spots, or at least find a way to indicate exactly where they should point. In this latter regard, I tried putting a "box" of text underneath the list of composer's names, saying "Click next to composer's names to play selections", however this didn't work well with the way the opening screen of the theme rolls out. The theme roll-out is rather nice; it starts with the video I've put in the drop boxes cascading by, then my name fades into view, and then the composer's names fade into view. But when I include the box of text, it appears on screen right away with the scanning drop boxes, before my name and the composer's names transition in.
The format I'd like to see, if possible, is for the composer names to change color and/or enlarge when the pointer is rolled over the composer names, like a standard hyper-link in a web page. But any and all ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

First off, the hyperlinks on web pages are much more advanced than what is allowed in the DVD specs.
With DVDs you have an overlay that contains the changing part of the buttons, in this case the "greater-than" buttons. The overlay is very limited. There is only two levels of anti-alasing. This means that any sort of curve (type has a lot of curves) is going to come out very "jagged". This is why on DVDs that you might own/rent, they never highlight the text in the button. Typically, you will see either an underline or some sort of simple graphic next to the text. Go rent a movie tonight, any movie, and you will most likely find thats true.
Now with DVD SP, you can highlight the text, but as mentioned above you really do not want to do that.

Slow texting

Since I updated to ios 7 on my iphone 4, texting and typing is very slow. I have reset the phone using the home and power button, but it didn't fix the problem. Any other ideas?

I've heard this works... Settings > iCloud > Documents and Data > Off.
