What is the root cause, is it because of internet speed issue or what??Let's start with the basics:
=> What version of Convergence?
=> What version of Messaging Server?
=> What browser are you using?
=> When did this problem first start?
=> Does it impact all users?
=> Do you see an issue if you are access Convergence via a LAN connection?
=> How big is the email you are trying to open?
=> Is the delay in opening an email, scrolling through a list of emails, initial loading of the email folders etc?
=> Does the end-user experience slow email access when using an IMAP client?
Regards,
Shane.

OK, let's come back to the original issue; how are deleted messages retrievable?
First, is the account set up as an Exchange account or a POP account? I'll assume it's Exchange. If it were POP the answer is obvious.
If it's an Exchange account are you deleting the messages from the phone or from some other computer? If you are deleting them from another computer they will not be removed from the Trash folder on the phone until the phone next syncs AND the Trash folder is opened. But this will take time. You can force the Trash folder to sync in near real time by going into Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars, tap on the Exchange account, tap on Mail Folders to Push and check "Deleted Items". Note that doing this will result in increased data usage and reduced battery life.
If I haven't described the situation tell me what assumptions I made that are incorrect.

  • How do I stop imac from retrieving email from my server?

I no longer want my mac to retrieve email from my server (sbcglobal).  How do I stop it from doing that?

Open the Mail app>go to the word MAIL in the upper left corner of your desktop and click on it>Preferences>Accounts tab>Delete the "Incoming Mail Server" entry on the right.
    Hope this helps

  • How to retrieve emails from a dead Mac?

My mid 2010 Mac Pro running OS 10.7 has died ( logic board)
    I have replaced it with a 2011  i5 3.1ghz  iMac running OS 10.8
I have put the SSD drive from the Mac Pro into an external USB case.
Is it possible to retrieve my emails from the old drive used in the Mac Pro to the Mail App on the iMac even though the two Macs use different OS?
I found I cannot access Mail on the old drive as the operating system is different and therefore won't open.
    Any help gladly accepted.

    Hi Loner T,
Thanks for your quick response. Yes the SSD was my boot drive on the Mac Pro.
I have now plugged it via USB external case into the iMac.  Next I went to system preferences and change the boot drive to the SSD one.
Wonderful.. I now have access to everything on this drive.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Help with retrieving emails from Gmail into Mail

Help! I'm helping my mom with her computer and her hard drive died (not backed up of course). She has a new hard drive now and I am importing her emails from her Gmail account into Mail. It worked great importing all the emails that she has since July 15th (the last time she retrieved mail from her Gmail account). If I go into Gmail through Safari I can she has hundreds more emails prior to this date still on their servers but they didn't download into Mail. I presume this is because Gmail knows they have been downloaded once before (to her old dead hard drive), but how do I get around this so all of her emails can be imported into Mail? The only copies are on the Gmail servers.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Scott

    Okay, then let's try this:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. Go to Home/Library/Mail and remove (don't copy and don't empty the Trash) the POP mailbox.
    3. Go to Home/Library/Preferences and remove the com.apple.mail.plist file.
    4. Restart Mail, setup your POP account again and it should connect to Gmail and download all the messages. If it does, then you can delete the file and folder you previously removed.

  • I cannot retrieve email from company exchange?

I am trying to retreieve my email from my company, I have no problem connecting using IOS7 on both my iPad and iPhone but cannot connect from my iMac or Macbook Pro? I have spoken with our IT deprt but still no joy, however, I downloaded TouchDown (Beta) from NitroDesk yesterday and believe it or not I downloaded all my mail on my desktop! Happy days you might think...yes to a degree but as it is still in beta it is very limited, but my question is, how come this email client can connect but Apple Mail or Outlook cannot? Same settings...

Well TouchDown is ceratinly downloading all my mail okay, but like I said previously it is still in beta and is quite limited. I was hoping someone was aware of maybe another email client that would also work like TouchDown but with better features...
I will have another chat with our IT department next week but to be honest its very political at our company so I am not going to hold my breath. Thanks for the replies thus far.

  • One user can not retrieve email from phone

I have one user can not hear the email from the IP phone, Text-To-Speech configured for this subscriber, listen voice message on the IP phone no problem, from outlook side, no problem, checked everything looks fine. any idea what happened for this?
Unity 405 UM with Exchange 2003, Callmanager 413.
    Thanks

Actually this is system wide problem, other users not reported.
Solution: The unity primary server was out of synch with the exchange message store, restarted the Message Store svc, problem solved.
Thanks Jeff and other posts, do give me lots of clues.

  • How to retrieve emails from trash on iPhone

I accidentally deleted 2 emails from my iphone 4S today, how do I get them out of the trash? Where is the trash?!

If the trash has been emptied, then unless you pay for data recovery software/services, it is gone (especially if you've used the machine since, meaning the disk has been written on).
Was this the application that was deleted or one document created with Pages? If it was the app, if you bought it from the App store, you should be able to download it again. If it was a retail copy, simply reinstall it from the disk.

  • How to retrieve email from iCloud using GMail?

I currently have a Dot Mac email account that I have retrieved from MobileMe by my GMail account. If I move my Dot Mac address to iCloud, what settings will need to be changed in my GMail account?

Does iCloud still use the mail.me.com server or is it now mail.icloud.com?
I've gone to www.icloud.com using Safari on my iPad  and my iPhone, but then I hit a wall because I'm not ready to transfer my mac.com & me.com email addresses over to iCloud yet. I paid $99 for MobileMe and I can't see throwing that away this early.
Hopefully there will be a "Take Control of iCloud" released in the next few months. Also, since Apple is now investigating ways to allow merging of Apple IDs, I'd like to wait until they announce what they determine will be required.
As for using a desktop computer to access iCloud webmail, I'll have to find the cheapest used Mac that can run Lion and then just use it for those rare times I absolutely have to access it that way. Most of the time that Mac will be completely off and disconnected. I absolutely abhor Lion; it is the worst version since Cheetah.

  • After years of working fine and no recent changes, my thunderbird now refuses to retrieve emails from one of my 3 email addresses. What do I do?

Last week it had slowed considerably in retrieving messages for this email address, but now it does not work at all. The three other email addresses are working fine.
The email address that is not working is working fine on my phone and on webmail, but not on thunderbird.

This is a POP email account. I can see everything, all files and buttons. The problem is that when I click on "get mail" either nothing happens or it takes forever to download the mail. Further, when I click on each email it takes a long time to open, it takes a long time to delete, it takes a long time to go to the next email. I have no other problems.
This has always been a POP account, and it has always worked fine, but it's the only account that I have trouble with now. My other two email accounts download quickly through thunderbird. It is not a gmail acct. Sending an email is not a problem. Seeing emails in folders is not a problem. I can go on webmail to retrieve the emails just fine, but that isn't very convenient.

  • How can I retrieve emails from a deleted account?

Hi, I've done a stupid thing. I was setting up a new account and only wanted to disable my old account but deleted the account details instead of disabling, not realising that this would actually delete the emails as well and I had most of my emails sitting in the inbox and sent folders. Does anyone know how I get these back? I don't have any backups.
    Thanks,
    Mark

If the account was an IMAP account, and e-mails that were on the server should still be there. However, I get the impression that isn't the case. For a POP account that has deleted the messages from the server, unfortunately, no, there isn't an easy way to get them back. You could try a file recovery utility, but I'd put my money against getting much useful data back that way. If you want to try, I believe that TechTool includes a file recovery tool.
Since you don't have any backups, take this as your cue that you need to start keeping them regularly. Start today!
