Slow, try to reload, when move dnld to app, says 2 items 0KB space avail
suddenly web access really slowed, safari remains fast. Tried to reload latest release. When I go to move download to APP it says 2 items to load and 0 KB available.
I've figured this out for myself so thought I'd let you guys know in case you have the same problem.
There was another Apple ID that I'd forgotten about that these apps were downloaded with.
Eventualy I managed to log into that account on the iPhone and I could download the updates.
I still want to merge the Apple ID together but for now, when an update arrives, if that app is currently free, I'm deleting it and downloading it again using the correct Apple ID. I can't face the idea of paying twice for the same app!!

This showed up when I clicked "Upgrade Now" from the Apple website.
Because Apple hasn't completed the release yet and/or their servers are flooded.

I just bought an Iphone4. When I tried to hook it up to Itunes it said i needed to update to 10.5 or higher. My Mac says 10.6.3 is available for download but it won't complete the task. It says my software is up to date. I DON'T want to start on Icloud. I have friends who have it and hate it. I like working from ITunes. Please help me figure this one out.

I get the rainbow wheel when I try to open an internet page. It loads halfway, then freezes, with the rainbow wheel whirring around. Smae thing happens when I try to stream a movie on Netflix. The movie loads, then the wheel shows up and the screen freezes. Same thing when I try a DVD, it takes the disc, but won't play when I hit on PLAY.
I am repair permissions, and all that I can do, but I am a novice. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I spend big bucks and drive 40 miles to get Apple help.

If your profile info is up to date, you probably have a 2006 or 2007 MacBook with a CoreDuo or Core2Duo.
It probably came with 512MB or 1GB RAM memory and a 60, 80, or 120GB hard drive.
You're still running OS X Tiger, 10.4.
Your DVD drive may be dirty or wearing out.
For specifics about your computer, click on the Apple Logo in the menu bar, then About This Mac, and More Info... to find details.)
You may be running short of hard disk space. You should have at least 10% free, or 10 to 15GB free for best performance. Less than that, and your hard disk is spending lots of time searching for places to store data.
Complex web pages and sites like Facebook and Twitter, and pages using Adobe Flash, and high-bandwidth applications like video streaming from NetFlix can all cause your computer to run slowly, and the fan to run at high speed, because the processor is working hard. Conversely, email is not terribly resource-intensive, and probably still works pretty well.
Several things can each provide a small performance increase (listed in no particular order):
Adding more RAM memory. Upgrade to 2Gb to give your programs a bit of 'breathing room', especially if you are running more than one program at a time.
Erasing the hard drive and reinstalling the current operating system and programs from scratch. This erases all your existing programs and data. Unless you have backups and program discs, you lose everything currently stored on it.
Installing a higher capacity, faster hard disk, say 250GB or 320GB will give your programs and data more space, and perhaps faster access if you replace the factory 5400rpm drive with a 7200 rpm drive. If your current hard disk is nearly full (less than 10% free space), the drive has to 'thrash' to free space to store information.
Upgrading the operating system to OS X 10.5 Leopard or OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Both are discontinued OS X versions, still available to order directly from Apple, but not likely found on a store shelf any longer. An upgrade to OS X 10.7 Lion might not be possible for your MacBook (details here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/how-to-buy/), and Lion would likely cause a further slowdown, because honestly, Lion is optimized for newer, faster dual-core or quad-core computers with fast video chipsets and 4GB or more of RAM.
A faster internet connection, for example: I switched internet providers to get a 3.0Mb DSL connection (up from a 512Mb connection) for an extra $10 per month, and saw downloads and internet browsing speeds increase dramatically. With the slower connection, it was not possible to watch video.
Will all of these upgrades together get you close to the performance of the latest MacBook Air or MacBook Pros? NO!
Ultimately, you have a 4- or 5-year-old computer, and spending up to several hundred dollars for upgrades might not be a worthwhile investment for you, versus applying that much money toward the cost of a new(er) Mac, and perhaps passing your MacBook on to a friend, child, or grandchild who needs mainly email capability.
If a brand new Apple is not in the budget, consider a refurbished Mac from the Apple Store online. These are reliable computers from 'last year's models' and have the same 1-year Applecare warranty as a brand new model, and often sell at a discount of 10 to 30 percent of the price when the model was introduced.
I'm using a mid-2007 MacBook, purchased as a refurb from Apple in late 2007. It came with 1GB RAM, a 120GB 5400 rpm hard drive, and OS X 10.4 Tiger. Over the years, I've upgraded it twice. Firs to 2GB, then to 4GB RAM, to a 320GB drive, then to a 500GB 7200 rpm hard drive, and to OS X 10.5 Leopard, and then to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Rather than one more round of upgrades to OS X 10.7 Lion, I'm saving for a newer MacBook Pro or MacBook Air at some time in the future. -
Ridiculously Slow Performance when Movie Scoring - brand new macbook
Hello there guys ! Sorry for my bad english, i will try to do my best.
The title almost says it all. I have a brand new Intel Core Duo Macbook (White, 2ghz, 512 ram, I haven't added any extra ram or anything).
The machine is blazing fast, I am really loving the experience. But when it comes to using a feature I would love to use everyday, it disappointed me. The movie score feature in Garage Band 3. So, I create a very simple movie in iMovie HD 6, capturing video from my fireware camera.
It is a very simple video, no soundtracks, just the original sound that came with the camcorder footage. No stills, reverse, slow-motion, effects or anything. Plain video with sound, just the way it came from the camcorder.
The problem is when creating a movie scoring project with that footage in garageband 3 , the performance is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. I mean, I press space and the movie strats playing after 1,5 seconds, and the video is halting every other second. It is so laggy that when i press space again to stop the video, the motion continues for another 1,5 seconds until it pauses.
There's absolutely no way to do any work in conditions like that. And the strange thing is that when using garage band to do other stuff, or when working in iMovie with that same movie there's no lag at all. I have even edited 30 minute long videos with effects and soundtracks in iMovie and it was blazing fast, no lag, no halting.
But in Garagaband even the simplest of all videos gets this ultra-slow performance, and it makes me wonder why.
- I have tried desabling recording on the audio track in garageband. I have tried to lock the track. I have done all the steps in the optimizing garage band performance in the help. I don't have firevault activated.
Any help ? Does anyone have a macbook just like mine that is able of doing moving scoring ? Because EVERYTHING ELSE is ultra fast, including video and audio editing, but when movie scoring it *****.

It's funny really - you say it all yourself; no extra ram, it doesn't come with enough to run Pro Apps and when you start to use the Scoring feature you are accessing two different functions - playing movies and music tracks - movies are always a stress unless they are very small and the Right Codec - so first up - what format is your movie? Do you have Quicktime Pro? if the answer is No - get it, it's not expensive and it gives your machine many extra abilities - you can then convert your footage to something easy to play.
How many tracks are you working with?
Get more RAM - MacIntel or MacPro needs 4-6 gigs to multi-task happily - with only the base load of RAM it can't.
I have a DP 2 Ghz G5, no where near as fast as yours but I have 4.5 GBs of RAM and a fast graphics card with 512Mbs VRAM - this means Motion and FCP can fly.
We are about to get a MacPro 2.66 Dual with 6 GBs RAM, essential.

Since a few days when I try to copy or move files on my macbook, I often get an error message saying "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -8062)". And then it just quits the copy or move.
I searched a lot on the internet, but only found solutions for cases you cannot empty the trash due to this issue.
I tried those solutions for my trash and that helped after some trying.
However, I still have the problem with copying and moving files.
I even cannot install new software now, as it has to copy itself to the programs-directory, and gives the same error-message.
Who can help me??

- make sure you have at least 10% of your harddisk in free space (I had only 5%).
- do a PRAM-reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379)
- perform a hardware test (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509)
- make a complete backup (with for example Carbone Clone Copier, see http://www.bombich.com/)
- after complete backup: use diskwarrior (boot from Diskwarrior DVD, first perform diagnostics, then perform "Rebuild" which rebuilds your file directory).
So far I only cleared up some space on my HD, and already the problem occurs less.
Still, I will go through the other tips too.

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie. Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with. The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad. You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.
