Slow xall in FPLVMgr, "ialv_configuration_info", possible to do it reentrant?

Hi,
I need to analyse a iak file (configuration file of fieldpoint) with LabVIEW. But It takes many seconds to get all informations out of this file.
I query first for each communication resource, lopp than over all modules and loop there over all channels (to get their name). This makes about 70 calls to the dll, each will take around 400 ms.
Can I change the call to perform the queries re-entrant? What other possibilites are there to speed up that task?
Petr

Hi Stefan,
I use the Fieldpoint palette (FP 6.0.11) and currently LV 2011SP1. Can I send you via PM the project? I also have a problem to create out of the project a dll (dll shuld be loaded by CVI, but doesn't work...

  • Firefox 4 slowes down after some time - possibly memory leak related

After couple minutes of intensive Firefox 4 usage (multiple tabs opened and closed, however no more than 15 tabs open simultanously) browser becomes '''unresponsive''' and periodically '''generates high cpu load''' (100% of one of two cores for about 4 seconds), '''memory consumption''' becomes around 450MB.

It would be helpful if Mozilla could provide a memory profiling tool that would help us civilians track down memory problems either in the core products or in extensions. The suggestions to create new profiles, re-add extensions, and do A/B (C/D/E) testing along the way, while accurate, aren't practical when we discover that FF 4 on Win 7 is using north of 1GB of memory.

  • Extremely Slow download of Apple Media, Possible Server Issue?

I am Having issues with Downloading iTunes Media that I didn't seem to have a Few Day's Ago. As You can See from the Desktop Image I took it's Showing a few Apps & 2 movies along with a TV Show all in HD taking something like OVER 193mins to Download. It's NEVER taken THAT long to down load a Movie Let alone a TV Show...I've checked my Net speed & it's the same as Usual, 10 down and .50 Up. I've tried EVERYTHING....from rebooting my Router to unplugging my Cable Modem & switched my DNS from 8.8.8.8-8.8.8.4 to 4.2.2.1-4.2.2.6 and I'm STILL getting the same Speeds, I'm using a Hardline connection and Not Wi-Fi although even with Wi-Fi it's never taken THIIS long to download ANYTHING. So is this an Apple Issue? Something with THEIR servers OR is there something ELSE i can Do that I'm not thing of.

I have some information to add to this.  I've been seeing these problems for quite some time since I started downloading in HD.  My library is rather large so I too decided to use another drive.  My case is different though I have and extra 2 TB internal drive and my media folder is on it.  This rules out all Wifi, network, or USB bottlenecks as a cause of the problem.  I have noted a few oddities about this behavior and I will mention them here although I am not sure what they mean.
    1.  If I set up a long list of downloads it seems to crawl on all downloads.  If I kill the "apple push" process the top two seem to speed up.  I have to maintain the list and only enable two downloads at a time to get anywhere near reasonble speeds but this method is great for one or two downloads at a time.
    2.  I was curious about this problem after watching it download for hours on a 24MBPS connection for just a few shows.  When I did yet another search I finally found this thread so I thought checking something out might be interesting.  I set up some HD movies to download on my secondary system that only has one hard drive.  Although not at full speed they began downloading much faster.  Three movies are all downloading on the single drive system faster than the one alone on the system with the Itunes media folder on a different drive.
Both systems are hard wired to the internet.
Finding this thread made me very curious I was wondering if there would be a performance boost if I uninstalled Itunes, and re-installed it on the media drive.  I really wanted that drive to be storage only but it makes me wonder if it would give different results or the same problem from not being on the OS drive.
Both systems are running Windows 7, and both are able to download streaming content, large files, or movies from other sites relatively instantly.

  • Drive access impossibly slow... Even though target disk!

Drive access on our MacBook Pro is suddenly impossibly slow - taking five, ten minutes to startup, and being unable to complete an install (Java update).  I found no errors in disk repair and just 'ignorable' errors in permissions.  Programs crashing or haltling - even Finder and Force Quit aren't coming up.
Plugged it into my white MacBook to run Drive Genius to see if the drive could be salvaged, and disk access is slow even this way.  Crazy slow, like taking several minutes just to get the drive information.

    Journal: Enabled
    Used: 259.67 GB (241.83 GiB, 259,666,432,000 bytes), 52.01%
So it seems normal, just really, exceedingly, impossibly slow.
What are the possible solutions?  I'm not entirely certain it's just the drive; one of the USB ports on the computer is randomly non functioning, no software indications.
    -Crissa

Using the online hardware test tool (Boot using Option+D) I was able to discern that the operaitng system had decided the drive was bad without actually telling me it was bad.  Eventually the drive completely failed.
While it was slow, I had backed everything up.  I found a guide to replacing the HD, although I did not actually need the fancy screwdriver to put the drive back in.  It was very simple!
The USB issue still comes and goes, though.

  • Why is the ipad 2 so slow with the ios 8.o.2 update?

After the update to ios 8 my ipad 2 wifi is a lot slower than before it is possible to return to ios 7?

The first thing to do is update your iPad to iOS 8.1. This latest update solves some of the problems of the earlier versions. afte you update, if you still have problems, I suggest you start a new question that gives a good title to a specific problem. Then in the body of the thread describe the problem in detail, tell us what steps you have tried so far to correct the problem, what happened, and what error messages you received.

    Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:
    - Most common: broken/buggy _audio_ driver
    - Try -ao sdl or use the OSS emulation of ALSA.
    - Experiment with different values for -autosync, 30 is a good start.
    - Slow video output
    - Try a different -vo driver (-vo help for a list) or try -framedrop!
    - Slow CPU
    - Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try some of the lavdopts,
    e.g. -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all.
    - Broken file
    - Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
    - Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
    - Try -cache 8192.

  • Extremely slow client view

    Hello all!
I'm being able to observe the client I've set up. But the speed at which my view as server is refreshed is so slow that I can't possibly monitor what is being done on the client computer. Just to load the desktop took about 5 minutes.
Both computers are under the same ISP with 10Mbit lines but still, monitoring my bandwidth usage, I never download faster than 5k/sec. Is it a bandwidth issue? Is there any setting I can put in order to make this run faster? There's no point in using ARD if I can't see what goes on on the client computer...
    Thank you for any suggestion!
    Z

I just installed the 3.2.2 update and it runs much faster. I noticed that now my bandwidth throughput reaches 20k/sec, which means it was originally ARD limiting it. Unfortunately it's still not enough to effectively monitor and operate the client computer.
Anyone know of a way to solve this issue?
    Cheers!
    Z

  • Is my AEBS attached HD to slow?

    Hello,
i have an external USB harddrive attached to my AEBS. The connection is to slow to watch a divx Movie without copying it to my computer first.
Copying a 700MB file takes around 28 minutes.
Is that to slow? What can be possible solutions? The AEBS is about 2 meters away from my iMac.
    Thank you!

I also have a 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 and have been trying to solve the choppy flash video problem all week. If you check the links I've posted you will see that the minimum hardware requirements for standard playback are PowerPC G5 1.8GHz or faster processor.
Also from the Adobe Flash Player website-------
If I have display problems with Flash Player, what should I do?
If you have display problems with Flash Player, such as poor picture quality or slow display times, deselect Enable Hardware Acceleration in the Display panel. This should eliminate hardware or driver compatibility problems with Flash Player. Flash Player then uses software to scale and display the content.
You can try this by control clicking on the flash video you are trying to play and choose settings. It didn't seem to help me much though.
So my conclusion is that my G4 processor is just too old and slow for the video on the web today.

  • Slow motion and recording options on x1

Is it possible to view a recording in slow motion?
Is it possible to capture an entire program if recording is started after the program begins?
The previous dvr offered through Comcast was able to do both. Also, it didn't lose recording capacity due to those early a.m. reboots, which is often rare and rather obscure movies are shown.

  • Time Capsule + Belkin Wireless router, same network to separate slower devi

Alright ladies and gents here's what I got.
I have a Time Capsule and a Belkin wireless n+ router. I want to use my Time Capsule to connect all my wireless n devices using the 5,0GHz band and use the Belkin router using the 2.4GHz band to connect the g devices thus simulating a simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi, of course all in the same network. I want to be able to see the TC disk from the "slower" devices.
    Is this possible?

We're going to need know how you have things configured now. Is the Belkin router the "main" router at this time?

Using the same wireless network name for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, as is done on the Apple "dual band" routers, there will be no guarantee that faster computers will connect to the 5 GHz network if they happen to see a stronger signal from the 2.4 GHz network...which is likely as 5 GHz signals are absorbed much more quickly than 2.4 GHz signals.
Your computer will always connect to the stronger signal...not necessarily the faster signal first, unless you tell it otherwise.

  • Best Slow Motion

I shot some test footage on My Sony HVR-V1U camera in HDV180i 24p settings.
Imported with: HDV 1080i60. easy set up.
Now I am trying to get the best bang for my buck slow mo. Is it possible to get it smooth in FCP or will I have to export to Motion?

As Jim implies, using Motion etc. is only a second best solution.
Also, if your shot is a panning one the optical flow process creates a weird waving effect to the background.
Take a look at this brief example to see what I mean:- http://vimeo.com/3223295
The second and third tests are using optical flow and the "wave" can be seen in the bushes (not the trees).

is there a possibility to controll that with a button?

Hmmm - no easy way - the frame rate in flash is global - can
not be changed - but some have been
able to work-around this using setInterval - but if you are
not familiar with actionScript then it
may be difficult - i would search this forum for this topic
and see if there's a way...?
