Slowly import of mp3 files

By the. Latest Update of iTunes , it is very slowly to import mp 3 files.

That isn't a built-in feature of iTunes. Do you by chance have iTunes Folder Watch installed?

  • Can't import my mp3 file on my computer at work

can't import my mp3 file on my computer at work but the same format will successfully import on my computer at home.  Only difference is that work runs win 7 32 bit and home win7 64 bit.
    can anyone help on this
    regards,
    Aron

iTunes seems to be quite fussy and may refuse to play/add MP3 files other palyers accept.
If you have the CDs you could try resaving them. Also some tag editors claim to have repair abilites. For example this one:
    http://www.magnusbrading.com/mp3ts/
Or there is a repair tool here:
    http://www.drtag.de/en/description_mp3rt.htm
I haven't tried these myself and it is always a good idea to work on copies of files if you are experimenting.

  • ITunes no longer imports 320kbs MP3 files

I have been using iTunes for several years.  I am a professional audio engineer and make my living doing it.
For years, I have been able to load 320kbs MP3 files into iTunes and load them into my iPhone to check my mixes.
All of this has come to a complete stop since this last update with iTunes.
For those of you who might have an answer for me, here is some things you might need to know:
    1. Yes, these are valid 320kbs MP3 files
    2. Yes, they play in Quicktime
    3. Yes, they have proper Meta, ID Tags (all versions)
    4. Yes, they load and play just fine in ALL other players (Windows, other iPhone, iPad, iPod players ect) EXCEPT they do NOT load in this version of iTunes.
    5. Yes, I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes - no help
    6. Yes, I have deleted my play list and rebuilt it from scratch - no help
    7. Yes, I have turned off iCloud - makes no difference
    8. Yes, OTHER PEOPLE (including my clients) are having the SAME PROBLEM with the new iTunes
    9. No, they do NOT load into iTunes -  iTunes does not allow me to drag and drop them, nor does it allow me to use the 'add to playlist' function.
iTunes simply will not load my 320kbs MP3 files.
I have been doing this same routine using the same method for years and it has ALWAYS worked until this last version.
Something has seriously gone wrong with iTunes
Anybody have a work around?  I really really need to be able to listen to my mixes on my portable devices (and so do my clients) and this bug is a show stopper.
    Thanks.
    Larry

    Go to iTunes preferences
    General Tab
    Import Settings
Change Import using to  Wav Encoder
    Change Setting to Custom
Now you will, have options to set everything
How files are sent to iTunes is dependant on how you setup the bounce in Logic Pro itself
In Bounce Dialog, select MP3 and then on right of Bounce Dialog box are settings for MP3 output file...
    or,,,,
of course, you select any of the other formats like PCM Wave and give it's settings...
You can actually bounce to many different output files at the same time by checking the appropriate boxes on left hand side..

  • "filename.aif" is empty! error message when importing long mp3 file

    hello everyone,
I am having issues importing large mp3, and even .aiff files into garageband. when I try to import a file that is around 4 hours long - garageband goes through the process of "importing" "converting" and then right at the end - it gives me this: http://idisk.mac.com/digory.mcginn-Public/GB%20error.png
I have managed to get around the problem by importing the file into iTunes, then using a virtual CD drive - burn the file to "a virtual CD." iTunes will create 78 minute long files to fit each CD, and those can be imported to GB, and put back together.
this is long and convoluted, and I would rather not have to do this.
if you've taken a look at the picture I've posted, you'll notice that the time on the timeline is over five hours. I pulled the tempo of the project all the way do to 40 - to create a longer space - but it does not help.
what is really bothering me is that garageband will, yes will allow me to export the project after I've created a bunch of mp3's that is over 6 hours long - but won't let me import one.
I was hoping there is a way to fix this
thanks so much if someone could help!

  • Trouble Importing Large mp3 File

I have a very large mp3 file (extension is .mp3, lower-cased) and I'm trying to import it into GarageBand so I can split it up into multiple files to make multiple podcasts out of it. The file is roughly 500MB and 8.5 hours long. I did not record it (hotel sound recording staff at our conference did) so I don't know what sort of settings were used in saving it as an mp3. It imports into iTunes and plays fine there.
When I try to drag it into a podcast track, GarageBand gives me an "Importing" message for a minute or two and then nothing happens (blank track, file not there). The same thing happens if I try to drag the version that plays fine in iTunes into GarageBand.
What can I do to get my file to a point where I can edit it?
If I need to convert it to something other than an mp3, can you tell me what (free?) software I need to download in order to do so?
    Thank you!

  • Unable to decode and import wav/mp3 file

I've recorded an audio file using Mbox 2 and Pro Tools LE 7.
I have exported the file to the wav format, but when I try to
import it into my Captivate 2 file, I get the following error
    message.
"Unable to decode and import the selected wav/mp3 file."
Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks for the help.
    Mark

    Hi "Chemistry guy",
A WAV is not a WAV is not a WAV. There are many "types" of
WAV audio file. Check to be sure that your WAV file is in "
PCM" format. That should be easy with a good audio editor.
Matter of fact, it should be easy even with Windows included "Sound
    Recorder" application.
To use your own audio editor, I imagine you know how to find
    and change file properties.
On the other hand, if you want to use "Sound Recorder" ... on
WinXP go to "Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Entertainment > Sound Recorder", then open the file, then go to
"File > Save As" ... and
at the bottom of the save-as dialog, you will see "Format"
(describing current file formatting) and a button to "CHANGE" that
format. Click the button and you will see a drop-list containing
    various formats.
    Select "PCM" and
    save the file.
Hopefully with this change made, you will be good to go.

  • Is there a better way? importing a .mp3 file to entire presentation?

Not sure if this is even possible but I have a .mp3 file that I am going to try to import into Captivate. The issue is the file is one large file and the person speaking in it is not able to record individual audio clips so I can import to each slide. My thought is to import the whole audio file for each slide, and then edit it down to just the relevant section within each slide. Is there a better way to do this?

    Hi there
Normally when you import an audio clip that is longer than the slide you are importing it to, Captivate provides an option to distribute the clip over several slides.
    Cheers... Rick

  • When i import a MP3-file, it's placed under 'Podcasts' not 'Music'

When I import a certain file on my hard drive, it's placed under the 'Podcasts'-directory instead of the 'Music'-directory, which is really irritating, as I now have to go to the podcast-directory every time I want to play it.
Anyhow, the file is just like other MP3-files I got on my computer - that I am able to import without problems. It's 96kbps and .mp3-format, just like a dozen other song I just imported, and that puts themselves into the music-directory.
Why does this certain file keep putting itself in the podcast-directory, and what can I do to avoid that?

If you use iTunes' default settings then when you add a file to iTunes it places a copy of the file in the iTunes media folder and it leaves the original in place.  The exception is when you drag it to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.
It does not convert the file.  You can delete the original if you wish.

  • Import of mp3 file suddenly causing sync issue with existing files. CC 2014

    Hi all,
I imported an mp3 audio file and dropped it into my comp which contained other Video (422 ProRes) files that contained audio.  When I RAM Previewed the audio for the entire comp slowed down and fell out of sync.  I can't seem to find any way to correct this.  I have tried both Comp Settings and Interpret Footage but I can't seem to find a fix.  Anyone know of (or have experienced) this issue and know of a fix? P.S. I know mp3 files are not optimal for use, but I used it anyway, and have in the past without issue.
    Thanks,
    JB

After rendering out two sequences that had the audio sync/slowing issue, it appears that this is an issue with RAM preview. The renders' audio are in sync and play at the correct speed.  The issue of the RAM preview remains.  It seems like a bug at this point.  I updated to latest (13.2) version of AE CC 2014, reopened project, RAM previewed the comp and the audio was playing correctly.  I RAM previewed again immediately again, and after a spinning beach ball, it plays back out of sync and slow again.

  • How to import a MP3 file song from iTunes into Logic 9?

How do i import an MP3 music file from iTUNES into a recording project in LOGIC PRO 9?
What type of recording trac needs to be used or enabled? Audio Trac or Software Instrument trac?
I cannot find this task listed in the Apple Pro Training book for Logic 9.
    Thank you.

Have you tried simply dragging and dropping the actual audio file using Finder... into the arrange window? Make sure you drop it into either a blank space in the arrange area or onto an Audio track. When you drop the Audio file into a blank area, Logic will automtically create an Audio track for it...
This is how I normally do it without issue...

  • 2mins 27 seconds audio import of mp3 file

I have a 9 minute video file and am trying to overlay a similar length audio clip of same length, the clip is in mp3 format yet when i import the audio it will only allow 2 mins 27 seconds of audio in to the video, does not matter what track i import its always the same 2.27 mins, I can not find away to drag it to make it the correct length, it just seems there is a 2.27 min limit, HELP PLEASE!

    Hi
    Don't know Why ?
But I know How I would do.
    • Get Your .mp3 file into a sound editor or iTunes and convert it as .aiff
(in iTunes Save out as an Audio-CD .aiff)
    • Use this in Your movie project
Converting all audio to .aiff before using it in iMovie/FinalCut E/P is my
strategy to get as few problems as possibly

  • Import multiple MP3 files into one video demo? (Cap 6)

    Hi,
I have recorded a video demo in Captivate 6. I have individual MP3 files that I would like to import into the file and then synchronize with the video. Can this be done? I imported one longer audio file, but it would be helpful to be able to bring in individual ones so I can sync more easily without splitting sometimes.
    Thank you
    Michele

    Hi Michele,
Are you using an Event Video or a Multi-Slide Synchonize one?
If your video spread across various slides, you can insert your audio to 'slides' and can edit and adjust the audio timing as per your requirement and time it to a certain duration equivalent to the corresponding video duration on the same slide.
In case of an Event Video, You can try inserting audio to individual slides and time the audio to be in sync with video based on their durations or else you can go to the Vidoe properties and can add audio and bind it up to play alongside with video.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

  • HT1473 Stop automatic import of mp3 files

Any time I add a new .mp3 file to my music folder, iTunes automatically adds it to my library and creates a new playlist for new songs downloaded that day.  This happens as soon as the file is added to the folder, before I even play it.  Is there a way I can stop this and only import songs into the library when I actually drag them in?
The music folder is not my "iTunes Media folder" location, and I've unchecked the copy files to iTunes option anyway.

That isn't a built-in feature of iTunes. Do you by chance have iTunes Folder Watch installed?
