Slowmotion

hello there,
I applied a slowmotion to a clip ,but find it still not clear and a bit
stuttering. Should i apply somekind of filter to this clip ie de/interlace or
flicker filter or is there a different filter i should apply?
thanks erc

Yes, the Frame Blending option makes it as good as it can.
It's best to increments by halves. eg 50%, 25 % etc.
If you provide more info about the clips and Sequence settings we may be able assist further.

  • Playing Slowmotion video over airplay does not work with ios update!!!!!

after upgrading last ios , airplay to shoot slowmotion video does not work.
I was expecting it to be fixed with recent update, but still not working!!!
I use it for education at my clinic - which is essential, and how come apple does not fix it at all?
or apple should give downgrade option at least.
FIx it, fix it, fix it!
Main purpose of puchasing ipad air2 was to airplay slowmotion video to big screen and i  am quite disappointed with my purchsing ipad air 2.

As the original poster, I too had issues with my iPhone 4 (4.2.1) and Apple TV 2 playing nice. The Airplay icon was visible for music, and worked perfectly. However, when watching a video, purchased through iTunes, only the "audio" option would be selectable for Airplay. After updating the Apple TV software, everything works perfectly well. When watching a video on my iPhone and selecting the Airplay icon, one of the options is to play "video" through the Apple TV, not simply audio.
It would have been nice to know that my Apple TV needed an update when I updated my iPhone 4 to 4.2.1.

  • PE 7 with Canon 5D Mark II - bad slowmotion quality

    Hi,
I've used the trial version for some days now to set up a video with shots from my Canon 5D Mark II.
I want the video clips to play in slowmotion so I've set the speed to 50%.
When I render the video I get bad quite quality (jagged playing) and I want it to be smooth.
Does anyone know if this is a know problem and could be solved in any way in PE 7?
If not, will it be the same problem in Premiere Pro version or does this version have a lot better render quality?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
There are a couple of articles on this forum on "Canon 5D MK II" footage, and many more on the PrPro forum. Pay special attention to links to other articles and also comments from Jeff Bellune, a noted author and Community Expert. While I do not recall "slow motion" being discussed, there is much discussion on the .MOV files from that camera.
The Adobe fora allow one to search by both Subject and by People.
If I find some of the links, I will post them here.
Good luck, and have you done a Render (hit the Enter key) to Preview in the best form possible?

  • How to make a cadences slowmotions from a 1920x1080p24 Nikon video?

I usually shoot with Nikon D7000 in 1920x1080p24 and I haven't could make soft solwmotion nether before in FCP Studio's or now in the modern FCP X versions. Most of them have a stuttering effect or deffect, specially in horizontal pannings or tilt ups/downs movements. I have tryed edit the sequences in timelines in its native 24p or 29.97 but the results are the same. Let me tell you I am an ex-Avid user, and this is possibly the only thing a mis from that system.
Is there a way to get better slowmotions? or am I making something wrong?
    Thanks to all.

How much are you slowing the footage down?
When you slow footage down, FCP X has to create frames to fill in between the originals - if you slow down a lot, it can appear choppy.
I shoot a lot of my footage at 50 fps, so i can actually run it at 25 fps (half speed) with no loss of quality.
Have you tried using Optical Flow?

  • How to create subtle slowmotion from 30p to 24p?

    Hi,
What's the best way to create a very subtle slowmotion from 30p to 24p in Motion? Is it to create a 24p project, import the 30p footage and then change the timing speed to 80%? Do I have to use any kind of 'frame blending'?
Thank u very much for your answers!

Select your imported video. In Properties > Timing... slow down the video Speed to 80%. You can apply a frame blending from the dropdown (if you want to... try them out!) but I don't see where you'd have to if the playback is 24p, unless you want to add the effect to the video (optical flow might be interesting).

  • Using final cut pro with slowmotion and greenscreening

I want to create a video that has a person moving in regular speed, but i want the background which is filled with people moving in slowmotion or fastmotion. The only thing i can think of if shoot the film with all the people then use a green screen to overlay the person into the scene and then adjust the speed that way....any other suggestions?

  • Nokia 7390, video playback in slowmotion!

When I watch video's on my Nokia 7390 phone, it is played in a bit of slowmotion. I did not have that problem with my Nokia 6233. That one worked perfectly.
This 7390 has the latest software version, what can be wrong with it???

The Nokis 6233 has some of the best video abilities ever seen on a mobile phone. The 7390 is not that good at videos. This is a hardware issue as the 6233 uses superior chips and has more computing power. Unfortunately no firmware upgrade will fix this on the 7390.

  • Rendered footage is in slowmotion

    Hi there,
I have a question and am kind of new to Premiere.  For about 3 months now i have been editing footage, rendering it, and then exporting it without issues.  I typically use 1920x1080 @48fps from a gopro with protunes on and camraw.  In the past I could color correct, cut it up, and then render and export it and everything was fine.  The past two weeks (it seems like after Premier 2014 downloaded) that I have tried doing this with similar footage, everything slows down to 1/2-1/3 speed in playback.  It does the same thing when rendered.  I have tried checking older projects and it seems the sequence frame rate is the only thing that is different when I tried poking around settings was in the sequence settings the frame rate was 10 instead of 29.xx.  Even when I change that on the new project it does the same slowing (although not as bad) in the render and final export to xx.mp4.  My next step is uninstalling and running the adobe cc cleanup to get rid of all of the settings...  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get the footage to play correctly, but only if I work with the footage directly off the SD card. The issue seems to arise when I import the footage that's been transferred to my hard drive.

It helps to try different percentages.  The best ones depend on your Shutter Speed when shooting.
Also try switching Frame Blending on or off.

  • SlowMotion in Premiere Pro CS5.5 mit 720/60p Aufnahmen

    Hallo!
    Toni

Ok, it's weird to answer my own post, yet I learned how to do it and in case someone else is just starting up, it might be helpful:
import the 60p footage into premiere, rightclick onto it in your footage-list and got to modify > interpret footage. there you can enter your desired framerate (in my case 25fps) and click "ok". then right click on the footage again and choose "new sequence from clip" and now you have a 25fps-sequence with true slow motion footage.
thanks to Adobe ambassador Jon Barrie!

  • Slowmotion timeline for MPEG when changing to 64 bits system

I recently changed to a 64 bits system to speed up processes.
From that moment onwards my MPEG file comming from the Sanyo Xacti change into a slow motion in the timeline with normal sound (reaching upto the middle of the film fragment.)
The files comming from the panasonic camera are normal.
I did not have the problem when I was using the 32 bit system.
Can anyone tell me what is happening and what I need to do to get it back to normal again?

Hi I'm back. Project is done. Great success.
So now I started to work on solving the problem.
Started from scratch  with a blanc C drive, Installed only windows 7 and premiere CS4, no more.
Guess what. I still had my old slow motion movie.
Disabled all the codecs that were on the computer and nothing changed.
Went on the internet and looked for the latest Premiere CS4 update.
    Installed that update
    and the problem was solved.
The update that I installed was: PremierePro-4.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.
Funny thing is that I had installed that update on the system before I started from scratch as well, but then it did not work.
Now I need to take care that I do not mess it up again.
    Thanks for the help.

  • How to convert 32 fps footage to 24 fps for slowmotion effect in premiere pro cs3?

    Hi there,
Can somebody give me any advice on this?
Is there something specific i need to adjust in the preset? or can i just richt-click on the footage in the timeline and convert it to 24fps?
Is it best to always shoot at a higher frame rate then 24fps..lets say for this particular clip and subject 32fps?
i'm doing this for a videoclip and we thought that such an effect would be nice during the choris of the song.
I hope somebody can give me some advice on this. Thanks in advance for the effort. much appreciated.
    grts. Tristan

    @Dan Isaacs
tnx for your reply: reason why shooting at 32fps is because the audio on the set has been speeded up with 133%. I thought it's best to stay in the same ratio in order to have the lips sync on the audio (this is in realtime)cuz when slowing down the footage to realtime speed the lips must be sync with the audio which is also in realtime speed
If I make sure that when slowingdown the footage in the project,it matches the realtime speed of the audio...,
does it matter at which frame rate I shoot?
    @Craig Howard
Well..I just got word of the rental company and there is a big chance that they have the panasonic HVX200 ready for me when i need it, SO i think that will be the one
So it will be as follow: shooting on a hvx200 at 32fps or if it doesnt really matter at 60fps for a better slowmo effect
of course i will shoot on High Def ;) and will need the p2 cards, after shooting I will capture/import the footage from the cards as you guys adviced me to do...
my main issue was thinkin I needed extra software for downconverting the framerate in order to get the slowmo effect, e.g.: cineform aspecthd
I think that i'm full circle now..or am i missing something?
    hehe..tnx again guys!

  • Slowmotion is really jerky!

when i slow a clip down alot it becomes really jerky, any way to solve this
to make it slow mo i right click on the clip, go to speed and then change the speed
    thanks

I encountered this problem as well, and back then it turned out to be the setting of the clip. It has to do with the upper field first or lower field first. Most pro broadcast systems use upper first, most DV formats use lower first. If they get mixed up, the jerky images come up. They will become more appearant when doing slomo's. Check the settings of the sequence, and the clips. Should be the same. If it's not, you might have to recapture with the correct settings, or start a new sequence with the right settings.
    Hope it helps.
