SLT system cleanup

Hi,
We are replicating data from CRM to SAP HANA using SLT.
We done a lot of development on SLT (created a lot of configurations, deleted them, then recreated them again, e.t.c).
But as SLT is not deleting all objects compleatly we have a real mess now in system. For instance we have only 5 configurations working now in system, but we have already used number 155 of mass transfer. Because of that we are expiriencing some other issues.
Is there some wise way to do system clean-up?
Thanks in advance,
Markus

Hi Markus,
There are few IUUC* tables which hold the information of the MTDs..
So you need to remove the table entries from these below 3 tables only to get rid of the old SLT Configuration. This has to be done before you create a new fresh LTRC Configuration..
  IUUC_REPL_CONFIG
  IUUC_REPL_CONpar
  IUUC_REPL_map
Note: This is a bit risky thing to perform as you have to use the debugger screen in SE16 & delete the entries for these tables..

Joydeep.

  • Deleting obsolete logging tables in SLT system

    Hi Experts,
Need help to sort out below issue,
There are many obsolete logging tables in SLT system ,might have been left out after dropping SLT schemas, previous replications.
These logging tables exist in ABAP dictionary but not in database. Due to this, it shows inconsistencies in DB02 > Diagnostics > Missing Tables and Indexes. There are in total 252 missing tables in DB. Currently DB migration is stuck due to this issue.
Is there any way to remove the tables from dictionary without deleteing them manually through SE14 ?
How to avoid having such tables ? Am I missing any steps while deleting the previous schemas?
    Regards
    Kartik

    Hi Kartik,
these obsolete objects/logging could be also there becasue someone refreshed/copied the systems.
There is also one transaction IUUC_REMOTE in the source system to delete the logging tables. But I am not sure if it distinguish between db or ddic level. Have a try and post the result.
    Best,
    Tobias

  • Is there any form of system cleanup  for mac air

is there any form of system cleanup for mac air

    How to maintain a Mac
    1. Make redundant backups, keeping at least one off site at all times. One backup is not enough. Don’t back up your backups; make them independent of each other. Don’t rely completely on any single backup method, such as Time Machine. If you get an indication that a backup has failed, don't ignore it.
    2. Keep your software up to date. In the Software Update preference pane, you can configure automatic notifications of updates to OS X and other Mac App Store products. Some third-party applications from other sources have a similar feature, if you don’t mind letting them phone home. Otherwise you have to check yourself on a regular basis. This is especially important for complex software that modifies the operating system, such as device drivers. Before installing any Apple update, you must check that all such modifications that you use are compatible.
    3. Don't install crapware, such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” "boosters," “extenders,” “cleaners,” "doctors," "tune-ups," “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” "disk tools," or "utilities." With very few exceptions, this stuff is useless, or worse than useless. Above all, avoid any software that purports to change the look and feel of the user interface.
The more actively promoted the product, the more likely it is to be garbage. The most extreme example is the “MacKeeper” scam.
As a rule, the only software you should install is that which directly enables you to do the things you use a computer for — such as creating, communicating, and playing — and does not modify the way other software works. Use your computer; don't fuss with it.
Safari extensions, and perhaps the equivalent for other web browsers, are a partial exception to the above rule. Most are safe, and they're easy to get rid of if they don't work. Some may cause the browser to crash or otherwise malfunction.  Some are malicious. Use with caution, and install only well-known extensions from relatively trustworthy sources, such as the Safari Extensions Gallery.
Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it. Otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
    4. Beware of trojans. A trojan is malicious software (“malware”) that the user is duped into installing voluntarily. Such attacks were rare on the Mac platform until sometime in 2011, but are now increasingly common, and increasingly dangerous.
There is some built-in protection against downloading malware, but you can’t rely on it — the attackers are always at least one day ahead of the defense. You can’t rely on third-party protection either. What you can rely on is common-sense awareness — not paranoia, which only makes you more vulnerable.
Never install software from an untrustworthy or unknown source. If in doubt, do some research. Any website that prompts you to install a “codec” or “plugin” that comes from the same site, or an unknown site, is untrustworthy. Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be acquired directly from the developer. No intermediary is acceptable, and don’t trust links unless you know how to parse them. Any file that is automatically downloaded from a web page without your having requested it should go straight into the Trash. A website that claims you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, is rogue.
In OS X 10.7.5 or later, downloaded applications and Installer packages that have not been digitally signed by a developer registered with Apple are blocked from loading by default. The block can be overridden, but think carefully before you do so.
Because of recurring security issues in Java, it’s best to disable it in your web browsers, if it’s installed. Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This action is mandatory if you’re running any version of OS X older than 10.6.8 with the latest Java update. Note: Java has nothing to do with JavaScript, despite the similar names. Don't install Java unless you're sure you need it. Most people don't.
    5. Don't fill up your boot volume. A common mistake is adding more and more large files to your home folder until you start to get warnings that you're out of space, which may be followed in short order by a boot failure. This is more prone to happen on the newer Macs that come with an internal SSD instead of the traditional hard drive. The drive can be very nearly full before you become aware of the problem. While it's not true that you should or must keep any particular percentage of space free, you should monitor your storage consumption and make sure you're not in immediate danger of using it up. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the startup volume for normal operation.
If storage space is running low, use a tool such as the free application OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the most space. Move rarely-used large files to secondary storage.
    6. Relax, don’t do it. Besides the above, no routine maintenance is necessary or beneficial for the vast majority of users; specifically not “cleaning caches,” “zapping the PRAM,” "resetting the SMC," “rebuilding the directory,” "defragmenting the drive," “running periodic scripts,” “dumping logs,” "deleting temp files," “scanning for viruses,” "purging memory," "checking for bad blocks," "testing the hardware," or “repairing permissions.” Such measures are either completely pointless or are useful only for solving problems, not for prevention.
The very height of futility is running an expensive third-party application called “Disk Warrior” when nothing is wrong, or even when something is wrong and you have backups, which you must have. Disk Warrior is a data-salvage tool, not a maintenance tool, and you will never need it if your backups are adequate. Don’t waste money on it or anything like it.

  • Technical Monitoring -SLT System - No Metrices delivered

    Dear Experts,
I have configured Technical Montoring for SLT system in our landscape .
But still i could not find few metrics  collecting data . It shows as no metrics delivered .
Attachment has details about the metrics .
Please help me to fix the issue and let me know for further details .
    Regards
    Bala

    Hi Balamurugan,
The solution for this kind of issues are different and not fixed solutions. But please check below points to make sure you have covered all steps.
1)LMDB landscap verfication should green for managed system.
2)Managed system setup should be green .
3)In technical monitoring setup make sure you assign all templates which is valide for your managed system software components.
4)After TechMon activation check managed system extractors in "Extractors Framework" administration and make sure all extrator in active and last runs are green.
    Thanks,
    Prakash

  • No more periodic system cleanup?

I'm not quite sure what to call it besides periodic system cleanup that happened in Tiger, but if my computer was on later (although never left it on all night really - put it to sleep when I went to bed) and restarted it the next day, some files would be in my trash to empty all the time. This seems to never be the case with my Leopard. I was just wondering if there was possibly something I'm missing out on or if there was a way to manually do it.

Since 10.4.2 they are automatically postponed and taken care of later by launchd, if your Mac is sleeping at 3:15 (daily), 3:15 (weekly) and 5:30 (monthly).
That's right you might miss some though, if you shutdown your Mac every night or in some other rare occasions,
but the main point here is that these tasks are nothing at all that so very important.
Running them once a month to stay clean is far enough (that's what I do myself. I'm not saying they are totally useless).
They were more important in the early years of Unix, when HD capacities were small and various error messages were filling log files on systems that were running without any interuption for years, 24/7/365...
Then they became a kind of fashion with Jaguar and MacJanitor, when Mac OS X was running them during the night *only if the Mac was not sleeping*.
These times are far behind, except for some utilities developers and for some advisers who are stuck in their ancien knowledge.
Now in Leopard, if we let it run we might learn that there is yet another improvement in automation, that we don't ever need to run them anymore at all, no even once a month.
Of course if we compulsively jump on the first available utility, we do what we already did in Tiger (10.4.2): we never have a chance to learn we don't need them anymore.
    As for Macaroni:
Me too I tried it and advised it then when it was still a little bit useful (Jaguar and Panther). Since Tiger it's just overkill and in Leopard, hopefully 100% obsolete if Leo is now able to automate also the post-shutdown situation.
    More importanly in this thread:
Needing to install third-party utilities as soon as possible, before we even begin to know well what's new and what works even better than before, is not a good approach IMO.
    I would've not reacted, but I know
(for example the French forums where OnyX author is always happy to show his knowledge and feel he's so needed...)
that this utilitie's hype is going to spread so fast, implying the wrong idea that Mac OS X cannot survive without tinkering,
implying that there are no improvements in how system files are handled and cleaned.
These habits are not fed only by some "helpers" here who have a whole set of ready-to-copy-paste replies, it comes also from these, often Windows switchers, who always feel better if they have something to tinker with.

  • System cleanup

is there a way to clean up system where all the unnecessary files are deleted. i had aperture demo preinstalled that came with my MBP and after i uninstalled it the software still does pro apps update. is part of aperture still on the system somewhere? are there a 3rd party utititys that does system cleanups?

This may help you get it took care of it. It's manual but it will work. The XLab: Uninstalling Applications

  • Software and System Cleanup--how??

I have an Ibook with an 8GB drive. I recently switched to a mac mini on my desk, but need to take the notebook on a trip and need some extra space. I am trying to install tiger to match the mac mini setup, but it wants 2.5 GB just to install. Is there a source to tell me what I need to retain on the machine for system, etc., and what can be removed? Some of these files have probably moved with me from computer to computer for 5-6 years.
For example, I find I have three library files. The oldest was in a folder by itself marked "system," and dated 2002. Since that was all that was visible, I trashed it and had immediate kernal panic which took more than 6 hours to repair and reload 10.3. I have removed all of the aps that I don't have to have, but still need some help with cleanup and removal to make additional space. What's the technique/secret? Or do I have to avoid tiger or other system upgrades from now on?

Transfer all of your old "important files" to the mini (ie word docs, photos, music etc.) then reinstall OSX Tiger. I believe a clean install will clear you HD so you can get a fresh start. Transfer your files back and your set.

  • How can I re-load a table into HANA using SLT

    Hi,
I am using HANA Version: 1.0.24 and SLT SAPK-91705INDMIS.
I have replicated several tables without any problems in this environment. However, when I tried to replicate T009, T009B and T009C; two tables T009B and T009C show status of replication as "Error" in both LTR and Hana Studio. Table T009 is replicated correctly.
I noticed that the table structure for T009B and T009C is created in HANA but there is no Data. Not sure what happened during replication. It seems to have stopped in between due to some error and now I have Table structures but with no data. I have tried suspend / stop and replicate but it keeps shown status as 'Error'.
Tcode LTR on SLT system shows following warnings
"Trigger exists in Source System although it is internally set as initial" for both tables.
I just want to start again and redo the load/replication of these two tables. What is the process of doing so?
    Thanks
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
I cannot comment on the officially supported way of deleting these triggers. Maybe the following will work,
Run the below command from SQLEditor:
    insert into <schema>."RS_ORDER" values(<your_table>, null, 'C');
    delete from <schema>."RS_STATUS" where TABLENAME=<your_table>
Although I think it should delete source triggers(but not sure). You do the cleanup from SLT (transaction IUUC_SYNC_MON)-->Expert Functions --> 'Delete DB triggers' , 'Delete Logging tables entries' and 'Delete Logging tables' for your table.
Also after doing this, you can check in source system (transaction IUUC_REMOTE) if triggers for your table are deleted.
Caution Again :-): I don't know if the above method is a documented and officially supported one.

  • "Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed" when adding a new table

    Hello,
I set up a replication flow from a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 with SAP ASE 16.0 source to SAP HANA 1.0 rev 82 target
I am using a standalone SLT system NetWeaver 7.0 with DMIS 2011_1_731 (with SP 1 to 7).
I have 100 tables to replicate.
I succeeded to set up replication for 57 tables. These tables are replicating properly.
Whenever I try to add a new one (with LTRC transaction, Data Provisioning -> Start Replication), the new table is marked as 'Failed' after a little while.
When I press 'Show Error Log' button I got an obscure error message:
"Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed "
I do not understand this message. I checked both on SAP ASE source and SAP HANA target. I am still able to connect against both source and target.
Can you please tell how to troubleshoot this error.
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

First thank you for answering my questions. I really appreciate your answers.
    I rechecked the documentation.
"Application Operations Guide SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server Document Version: 2.3 – 2014-07-08"
    Page 29 - 30
    3.5.2.2 Data Transfer Jobs
This section explains the relationship between the number of data transfer jobs and the number of available background work process.
Data transfer and data transformation processing on SLT server system is accomplished by the background work processes of the underlying SAP NetWeaver ABAP application server. Each job occupies 1 background work process in the SAP LT Replication Server system. For each configuration, the parameter Data Transfer Jobs restricts the maximum number of data load job for each mass transfer ID (MT_ID). In total, a mass transfer ID (MT_ID) requires at least 4 background jobs to be available:
 One monitoring job (master job)
     One master controller job
 At least one data load job
 One additional job either for the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to change configuration settings in the Configuration & Monitoring Dashboard
    Example
If you set the parameter Data Transfer Jobs to 04 in a configuration “SCHEMA1”, a mass transfer ID 001 is assigned. As a result, the following jobs should be in the system:
    1 Master controller job: /1LT/IUC_REP_CNTR_001
     At most 4 parallel jobs for MT_ID 001: /1LT/IUC_LOAD_MT_001_001/~002/~003/~004
When configuring your data load or replication scenario, consider the following:
 Do not define more data transfer jobs than the number of available application server background work processes. If all available background work processes are already occupied by jobs, any other job will have to wait until a free work process becomes available. This can lead to long wait times until a new activity (for example creating triggers) can start, and can also result in significantly increased latency times for data replication.
 The number of dialog work processes in the source system corresponds 1:1 with the number of data transfer jobs in the SAP LT Replication Server system.
 Besides the work processes allocated by the data transfer jobs you need to provide additional available work processes for controller and monitoring jobs, the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to perform configuration changes, and so on.
Sizing for SAP LT Replication Server involves determining how many work processes are required to perform the initial load of data into the target system within an acceptable timeframe, and accomplish the change capturing and the transfer of data changes to the target system within expected latency times.
Ensure that you add enough additional work processes to allow other required SAP LT Replication Server jobs to run.
Finally, you map the number of required application server work processes to their system resource consumption (CPU, memory, disc space) using the formulas provided by the SLT Sizing Guide.
With the simple formula below, you can calculate the number of required application server work processes (WPs) on the SLT Server for each active SLT configuration.
The number of required work processes can be determined by adding
 The Number of required data transfer jobs ,
 plus one background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
 plus one background work process for Master Controller Job,
 plus 3-5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
 plus approx. 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
Note: A lack of available free application server work processes can negatively affect the data load or data replication processes.
To summarize everything, the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs' must be set depending of the number of source tables, it is not the actual number of tables.
Assume that for my 100 tables I use 10 'Data Transfer Jobs' :
    - The number of work processes on the SLT server would be 20. I took the simple formula of the documentation:
    10 data transfer jobs ,
+ 1 background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
+ 1 background work process for Master Controller Job,
+ 5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
+ 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
    - The number of dialog processes on the source server would be 10 ( equal to the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs')
    Am I correct ?

    Christian

  • AS 70SR2 (WP's) stops when connecting to upgraded system.

    Hi,
I have installed an application server (NW7.0SR2) for our new ECC60 sandbox, which is upgraded from 4.6C. The AS and the DB server are on 2 different hosts.
When I try to start the AS it seems to work but the processes dies. The AS server is 64bit W2K3 ENT SP2 R2 with 12GB RAM.
I would really appreciate some input:)

  • GRC AC 10 (RAR/CUP/ERM) configuration for EP system

    Hello Gurus,
We are aware of configuring RAR/CUP/ERM in GRC AC 10 for ERP system(back-end)
Are there any documents /links to provide information on configuring the above components for EP system ??
Or rather specific which of the following configuration is possible for EP system ?? CUP /RAR/ ERM ??
Also going further , is there any way in which we can configure the same for BO system ??
I am not quite sure if there is any PLUG-In as such which is available for BO system or not .
But in my opinion there is no need to perform configuration for BOBJ system as the roles in them are imported from Backend system (ERP/BI etc) , hence if these roles are already taken care during ERP system cleanup and SOD analysis , there should be no need to configure seperately RAR/ERM/CUP.
    Please provide your comments.
    Regards,
    Victor

    Hello Prasad,
Thank You for your quick response .. the info was quite helpful.
Will you please put some light on aspects of integrating AC 10 with BO ??
Is there any connecter available for it?? Which scenarios are possible ??
    Humbly Requesting your help.
    Thanks in advance.
