Ladies and Gentlemen:
Ever since I upgraded my 16 GB PlayBook to OS2, it has been very slow - sometimes up to 17 seconds - to come out of stand by. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas as to how to speed things up a bit? It was pretty well instantaneous with the previous OS...

ITunes playback becomes choppy after machine comes out of stand by mode

Hi All-
I've recently started having an issue with iTunes where the playback of files on my hard drive (as well as a cd in the cd drive)becomes choppy and garbled after my machine has come out of stand by or hibernation mode. The only way to resolve the issue is to reboot the machine at which point things are fine until the machine goes back into standby mode and the problem reoccurs. Other audio program play back without an issue. I have reinstalled the latest iTunes software (ver 6.0.4.2), as well as updated the iPod software on my device, and the results are the same. The cd driver is ver 2.0.4.3 and the cd driver dll is version 2.0.3.2. Client OS is XP pro ver. 2002 with SP1. The machine has a gig of memory on it.
Given that it takes about 5-7 minutes to reboot my machine and the frequency that I put the machine into standby mode this has become quite a bummer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i'm not sure why this is only hits some folks under some circumstances like this. i've seen reports of itunes sound being bad only after minimising the itunes window, sometimes only when an application has closed, sometimes only with certain songs ...
at any rate, i'm glad you're up and running again.

Lenovo t61 comes out of standby automatically after the lid is closed

I have a t61 + wind 7 + 32 bit + ultimate edition. It was working fine till now and suddenly I have noticed its coming out of the standy mode suddenly. I close the lid, its going to standby mode i see the little semi circle on the top and everything is fine. Suddenly when it finds any known wifi signal or any thing, which I think I have noticed, its comes out of stand by ....I can tell that from the beep it makes and the light suddenly goes off. After sometime I notice that the battery dies, as its in normal mode even when the lid is closed and it consumes all of the battery. Please let me know what settings have to be changed to get rid of this F error. I am facing a lot of trouble as it consumes all of the battery when I open the lid even if its fully charged. I think it has to do with some settings. I have verified everything power manager, wireless adapater etc. Any gurus pls suggest.

a couple things you can check...
open up Device Manager and see if Allow this device to wake the computer is enabled for your mouse and/or your wired ethernet device on the Power Management tab of their Properties sheets.

I had this same problem with what's app. There is a new update for the app on the app store which is compatible with ios8. Update the app, or delete it and re-add it. I found a lot of apps weren't compliant with ios8, but after updating everything worked fine.

Try this:
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Jail-broken iPhone 4S won't come out of recovery mode after attempted ios 7 update

So I've had my jail-broken iPhone for a while and decided to go for the ios 7. After deleting 200 songs, 400 pictures & videos, and countless apps and other useless data to get the necessary free space to upgrade, I was finally able to download it. It went into recovery mode (showed the iTunes logo and the USB cord) shortly afterward. I plugged in my iPhone to my laptop, iTunes came up, but as I tried to restore the phone to upgrade to the ios 7, an error appeared saying the "iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporary unavailable". I've tried a LOT of stuff, from simply restarting my laptop to trying DFU mode like 200 times, and it keeps saying the same thing. Now I'm basically phoneless because it won't come out of recovery mode.
Does this have anything to do with it being jailbroken and not backed up prior to attempting to upgrade? Please help!

Yes, it is directly related to j'breaking it. And as such, you will get no further support from Apple and we cannot help you either. Use an internet search to try to find a solution elsewhere.

How to come out of standard transaction after giving error message

I have one requirement like i need to validate a field in standard transaction ME21N. If user enters wrong value then i have to give error message and leave the transaction ME21N immediately. If i do the code with error message then i struck in the same screen of ME21N(but i need to come out of ME21N).Can anybody help me for this particular scenario.

Ahhh, I see, this is a different story, now.
How about issuing an Information message, and saying LEAVE TO TRANSACTION 'ME21N'.
Message I001(00) with 'THere is some problem, transaction ending'.
leave to transaction 'ME21N'. " Or you may be able to use SY-TCODE here.

Can't switch out of foreground application after Leopard upgrade

I installed Leopard on a client's MacBook I'm having the strangest problem. About 10 minutes after boot, I won't be able to leave the currently active application. Clicking on the desktop or the window of any other app doesn't do anything. Further, I can't launch apps when the computer gets into this "mode".
The first time this started happening, I decided to wipe the hard disk, reinstall leopard and re-build the home directory. Even this didn't fix the problem.
The computer is useless as long as this keeps happening.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I tried resetting my username and passwords to one that is unix-friendly as suggested above from the closed thread on this same issue from 2007, but when I tried to right click, I couldn't get the "customize" icon added to my toolbar. Anyway, the above solution didn't work for me, either.
I am totally new to the Mac environment, so have been researching this problem for several hours now. Before I try to reset all the printer drivers, I have a totally newbie question that makes me feel really dumb, but: given that I have OS 10.4.11, what OS worked well for you, and what is the version that associates with a working printer driver? ? I think I'm on Tiger. . . but maybe I'm on a wildcat? Is there a way to When I go to system preferences and check accounts, or I look at software updates, it tells me what version I've downloaded, & etc., but I can't seem to find out what my OS is named. Is there a way to do this?

The standard terms for the app store are that the "old" version will be pulled if/when a new upgrade version (e.g. from iLife 11 to 13) will be offered and that you will need to buy it again.
If you purchase the retail disk, then you can use that as long as it will be compatible with the OS you are using; however, if you decide you want iLife 13 from the app store, the same rules as above will apply. So, either use your retail disk as long as you want/can or go with the app store's terms and keep buying new versions.

BB Bridge won't find my BB 9700 after OS2 upgrade

After bridge didn't initially work, I started from scratch. I checked for updates on the phone's bridge, but it says the phone is up to date. Tried to pair via picture and manually but neither worked (pic didn't work before OS2 either).
I also can't tether, although I could tether and bridge fine before.
NEVER MIND. I REBOOTED THE PLAYBOOK, CHANGED THE DEFAULT NAME, AND IT WORKED.

Like what penguin said......If apple doesnt say it, I wouldnt believe it. I just read an article this morning SPECULATING Siri for the Ipad 2 around holiday time. Its those websites jobs to speculate which attracts readers(like me for example). I highly doubt it though.

HP LaserJet P3005x will not come out of sleep mode

Printer will not come out of sleep mode (after being in sleep mode for an extended period of time (over 24 hrs)). When this happens, I can not ping the printer and pressing any of the buttons on the printer will not bring it out of sleep mode. I'm testing now to see if I can recreate this with the printer attached to my PC via USB.

I understand your monitor is not coming out of sleep mode. Take a look at the following support document, Resolving Problems with Sleep and Hibernate Modes (Windows 7). Step 3 might be of particular interest to you, as you mentioned your keyboard and mouse are not really working for you either. Perhaps it is another connected device that is causing the issue? Try the following.
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Right click 'Speakers and Headphones' ( or Speakers/HP ) and select Properties. Select the Advanced tab and then remove the tick from the box next to 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'. Click Apply and Ok to save this change.
Restart the notebook.

I would like to install Mountain Lion when it comes out...

I have a late 2010 MBA 13 with 2GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD running OSX Snow Leopard. I'd like to install Mountain Lion when it comes out. I've heard that I must have OSX Lion first. I've always backed up my Mac using Time Machine to an external HDD, and the backups are current. My question is, I'd like a successful install of Lion, so that when ML comes out, I can buy and install that. My computer has two seperate user accounts, one for my wife and one for myself. We both use this computer and I don't want to mess any of her files, settings, etc up with either upgrade.
Would I be safe performing a backup, then buying Lion from the Mac App Store and installing it? What problems would I run into? When ML comes out, will that be an easy upgrade also?

You actually DON'T need to have Lion installed in order to installed Mountain Lion. You can do it right from Snow Leopard.
But if you want to install Lion beforehand(which at this point I would just say to wait for ML), then yes, backup your Macintosh HD to an external hard drive or just use Time Machine, and that will back up both user accounts.
