  • System log shows operating system call recv failed(error no.73)

    hi all,
here i have some doubt in system log please clarify me,
here in my (sm21)system log files i find more no  of logs for dispatcher and it indicates operating system call recv failed(error no.73)
    system log  Short Text shows:
Operating system call &5&5&4 failed (error no. &>E5)
The specified operating system call was returned with an error.
For communication calls (receive, send, etc) often the cause of errors are network problems.
It could also be a configuration problem at operating system level. (file cannot be opened, no space in the file system etc.).
    what is means

    Hello,
Yes, you are right, these kind of problems (OS Error 73) are usually caused by network issues. Error 73 means 'connection reset by peer'. In most cases, this is because the connection was interupted by the communication partner or an active network component between.
    I provide you some recommendations:
    - Check your Network environment. You can use NIPING tool to diagnose it (note 500235), check your MTU stability.
    - Check note 27320 - keep alive and gui_auto_logout profile param
    - Also you can implement note 1002075 for a possible solution
    I hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Blanca

  • How to write messages into system log(sm21) using c_write_syslog_entry

    Hi,
May i know how to write my application messages into system log(sm21)
using "c_write_syslog_entry". Any explanation regarding the Type. ID, Data
will be useful with examples. Incase of any other FM's or C functions does
the same Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Prasath

    Hello Prasanth
I agree with Kareem that you should prefer the application log. If interface IF_RECA_MESSAGE_LIST is available on your SAP system this is the first choice for collecting messages AND storing them as application log.
For an example you may have a look at my Wiki posting [Message Handling - Finding the Needle in the Haystack|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/2007/07/09/MessageHandling-FindingtheNeedleintheHaystack]
Not shown in this example is the storage of the application log. However, if you look at method CF_RECA_MESSAGE_LIST=>CREATE you see that you can add the application log references here.

  • Canot display the remote system logs in the A51 system in the sm21

    Hi firend,
could you plase help to me, i could not able to see the remote system logs in sm21 transaction. How can overcome this problem
    Thanks,
    Lakshmankumar.

    Lakshmankumar,
Have you done system copy? or is it a new installation?
We had this problem after we have done system copy on to new system (New Hardware).
You can check the URL provided by Juan Reyes.
I also suggest checking few more things like below.
Are you able to see instances from SM21 u2192 system log u2192 choose u2192 remote system log u2192 instance name u2013 check to see if you are able to see other application servers are not.
If you are not able to see other apps servers try these steps.
Execute the function module TH_SERVER_LIST on all application servers (start SE37, insert TH_SERVER_LIST, press F8, press F8 again). As a result you will get a table "LIST", with a mouse clickthe contents of the table will be displayed. In the column "SERV" normally the sapdp* services should be displayed, these are used to connect to the dispatcher of the instance. Most probably you will not see a sapdp<nn> entry but some strange names,e.g. cpq-tasksmart, intraintra, tick-port.
In this case please check the/etc/services file (if using Unix) of all application servers. All duplicate entries of the interval 3200 to 3299 should be commented out if they are already used for the sapdp<nn> services.
After the restart of the instances the function module should return allsapdp* ports correctly and all remote syslogs should be displayed now.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

  • Writing to system log(sm21)

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to write custom generated log to system log(sm21), Is there any FM for the same or how to do the same.
    thanks
    bobby

You cannot use the system log for your own purpose.
Actually, you can, using the kernel functions available, shown in the SLOG package programs.  The system log is nothing more than a local file that gets written to and then synchronized across app servers.  But you are correct that the poster needs to use the application logs, as I also stated.

Before you reinitialize your log shipping configuration, check to see if you can take a differential backup and restore that on top of your standby database. This is relatively easier than to take a full database backup just to reinitialize

I can take a diff backup.. But in my secondary, when i right click standby >tasks-->restore-->i can see only option to restore transaction log file. Other options are greyed out. How can i restore a diff backup now. If i bring the DB online with
restore with recovery, i have to restore a full backup before i can apply a diff backup.
Somebody provide me insight on below error
This secondary database is not functional because
the required copy or restore job cannot be found. You must remove this secondary database by clicking Remove. To resume log shipping to this secondary database, add it as a secondary again using the same settings. If
you resume log shipping and you specify the same restore path that you used before, any backup files that are uncopied or unrestored to this database will be copied and restored when it is added as a secondary again.  Reinitializing the secondary database
    is unnecessary."
I can see the LS_restore job and the job is running as per the schedule, we dont run copy job because
the backup directly falls in secondary server. wats the reason for the above error.

  • Solution manager system log - strange entries

    Hi Everyone,
the problem we are facing in Solution Manager system log every five minutes appears a new error message:
2 Database error -30082 at CON
    0 > SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "24"
    0 > ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001
First of all the landscape: ECC, BI, CRM, PI and Solman. Each system is DEV, QUA, PRD - except Solution Manager.
Result of going to see the logs within work directory:
    Connect to %_DCR_XXXXX as db2dcr with DB6_DB_NAME=DCR;DB6_DB_HOST=xxxxxx;DB6_DB_SCHEMA=SAPSR3;DB6_DB_SVCENAME=5912

    [dbdb6.c      1732]
Some of the systems are being connected successfully and the error messages in SM21 are not related to those systems. But some of the systems like DCR cannot be reached. And this fact causing the error messages.
I haven't configured Solution Manager because I have joined the project later. I would like to know what job is trying to access the satellite system and for what purpose.
On solution manager side I have checked all the scheduled background jobs - all of them have been executed successfully.
There some of them are scheduled but it is hard understand what is purpose of the job.
I have checked and corrected system landscape through SMSY and have maintained all the RFCs. They all OK now.
What else could force to make a connection to satellite system? And where is the place where it is hardcoded local(satellite) db2 connection entry?
Like I said before, some of the systems are being connected but some not. The one which has not been connected - there was recently changed SAP master password. I believe this is the key to resolve the problem. But the system itself operating 100% correctly.
Perhaps it could be CCMS that makes some extra connections to collect the data from the monitored systems. But I have checked all the RFC's in SM59 and they were OK.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    Artjom.

    Kaustubh Krishna,
    thank you for respond.
It was dbacockpit. The connection was maintained with old db2sid password. And it was causing problematic log entries.
    Problem was solved.
    Points awarded.
    Thanks,
    kind regards,

I would say that someone executes a transaction, it takes too long and he cancells the transaction through GUI.
I would trry to find out, who's user "TESTUSER" and ask what is going on.

  • MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more...

    Ingo,
I am getting below error message in BO Test environment when I refresh WebI document.
MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details
It was working when we migrated the objects initially. Subsequently when we try to refresh WebI document we are getting the above error message. It still works in BO Dev environment and the no of records are the same in Dev and Test.
I am able run the underlying BEx query in SAP BW Test environment and it does return data.
I checked ST22 and SM21 log, but no details there.
Is it related to Authorization on the Universe or Bex Query?
We are in the middle of UAT and not able to move forward. I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Thanks
