Hi i am maintaining a table through SM30. and i have used one display field in transaction for that table. when i am entering data through transaction that disply is getting displayed when i press ENTER. but when maintaining through SM30 thet display field is not gettin displayed even i pressed enter. pls help me.

in SM30 u have to give the field name and table name for entering multiple entries.
scroll down in table field and give name of screen field and valueas
name of screen field value
matnr mara.

How to capture the data that the user modified in SM30(Maintenance view)

Hello experts,
I have a new requirement wherein when the user modifies a particular record in SM30(maintenance view)
it would also update that certain records in another table. For example, I modified the address
of record 1 in table1 so I need to automatically update that same record in table2. Help would be greatly appreciated.

We will have to use the event,
'BEFORE SAVING'.
2. In that,
u must fire a select query,
   from the same table,
   for the same record.
3. In this, u will get the OLD DATA (which was already saved),
4. Using this,u can compare,
   (either thru LOOP, or field by field)
to know, which field value has been changed.

Hi...Pls tell me what Table maintainence indicates in the table when we select the delivery and maintainence <b>Tab of</b> the table and select the following from the dropdown list Display and maintainence allowed/Display and maintainence allowed with restrictions/Display and maintainence not allowed.What does each indicate.

- Display/maintenance not allowed
The usage of standard table maintenance tools is not allowed.
Maintenance and display of this table/view is not possible in transaction SE16.
Transaction SE54 does not allow the generation of a maintenance dialog, which means automatically that calling transactions SM30/SM34 for this table/view is no longer possible.
- Display/maintenance allowed to limited extent
Usage of standard table maintenance tools is allowed to a limited extent:
Transaction SE16 allows the display function for this table/view, but no maintenance.
Generation of a maintenance dialog for this table/view is possible through transaction SE54.
Transaction SM30 does not allow maintenance and display functions for this table/view.
Note: The generated dialog can be included in view clusters (data maintenance through transaction SM34) or called within a program through the function module View_Maintenance_Call.
- Display/maintenance allowed
The usage of standard table maintenance tools is allowed:
Transaction SE16 allows the maintenance and display functions for this table/view.
Note: If an SM30 maintenance dialog exists, this is called.

Interface Package CHECK

I expose my problem.
I create a specifical hierarchical structure package on CRM7 for test Interface Package Check.
This is a representation of my hierarchical structure package :
                                                            P1 (Structural Package)
                                       P1_1 (main package)                  P1_2 (main package)
          P1_1_1 (Normal package)                       P1_1_2 (Normal package)
        (I1 interface package with                         (use I1)
        Data element E1)                                       Use E1 and E2 in a Structure S1
     Define Data element E1 et E2                       Use E1 and E2 in a program Prg1
When I activate my structure S1 I have the error of use E2. It's OK.
When I use extended check code with program Prg1 I haven't error on use E2.
When I use a standard element in my program and I use extended check code I have an error on use the standard element when I don't add the package interface where standard element is declared.
Have you any idea which explain the difference on check with my specific data element and with standard data element ?

Hi,
first of all, you have to check if th ystem-wide package check is switched on. Check in transaction SM30, maintenance view PAKPARAM_V. GLOBAL_SWITCH must be equal to 'R3ENTERPRISE'.
I don't understand the behaviour you describe. The package error must be reported either for both development objects in the consumer package or not at all.

SPRO Change

Hi All,
The user's path is : SPRO - IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for Opportunities - Define Opportunity group, priority and origin - Define source for opportunities.
When she click on the clock right at this stage, she gets the msg " you dont have authorization for SM30".
I am a little apprehensive about the change access to SM30. Any alternatives on how we do this ?

Hi Reel,
Most of the IMG activities are indirectly require SM30 maintenance access. Assign the authorization objects CRM_OPP (opportunities) and CRM_OPP_LK (opportunity relationships) to the user account using SU01. These authorization objects indircly provide the SM30 access to appropriate tables in CRM whenever the user confguring opportunity object.

SE16 - is "OR" possible?

I'm running SE16 / SE16N, and I was wondering if "OR" is possible. For example, to pull data where one field = "48020900" OR another field <> "".
Is it possible is SQVI or SQ01? If so, how? PLEASE be detailed.

Suha, sometimes I really ask myself of what you are dreaming at night.
It is true that in SE16N main screen using the right-arrow-icon-button without text (SE16N is lousy BTW) you get to the 'Multiple selection by *field' popup.
After entering any value, a click on the 'Multiple selection' Button without Icon (not lousy but feature?) the search help configured for the field comes up allowing multiple selections on the hit list.
Still no OR between different fields. At least you may describe a small example where you find all company codes that have SAP in their name OR the location Argentina
It is true that you can do it with SM30 maintenance view: On Start screen click radio button 'Enter Conditions', then MAINTAIN, then enter the fields you want to use. The you get to the "Determine work area' Popup where you can enter from-to-ranges for the fields. Here you can use button 'Further select cond.' . This opens a rather cryptic condition popup where you can enter range lines for the selected fields and combine them using AND or OR.
I forgot that (Thanks Rob for Reminder) and mostly can't use it because not many tables have maintenance views.

HOART in FAGLFLEXT

Hello,
We have just gone live with NEW GL on a completely new instance. Please note that it was a fresh implementation and not a migration project.
I created an OSS message for adding HOART field in FAGLFLEXT table and I was told by SAP that it's a category 2 SAP standard fields as described in Note # 923687 from table FAGL_OPT_FIELDS. Table FAGL_OPT_FIELDS did not have the field HOART and one of our consultants added it using SM30 maintenance view for the table FAGL_OPT_FIELDS. It became available as field ZZHOART in FAGL_GINS. He then added it to the ledger 0L as a custom field using node "Assign Scenarios and Customer Fields to Ledgers" in IMG.
When I tested the new field update, it still doesn't update the values in this newly added field in the table FAGLFLEXT even though a new column ZZHOART is not available in the table FAGLFLEXT.
Can somebody help me understand why it still doesnt get a value in ZZHOART field?
Secondly, I want to know if FAGLFLEXT can be populated with a value in this new field HOART for already posted records.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Unable to edit maintenance view in SM30

hi everyone.
need your help, I have one custom table, let's call it YTAB. This table has several maintenance views created for it, depending on company code. For YTAB, i have created a maintenance view YTABX.
When we moved YTABX to PRD, we cannot edit it in SM30. The user ID has the right authorization. The error message is "client 100 not modifiable". When I try to edit the mother table YTAB in PRD, I am able to go in and do the changes.
I have already compared the settings for YTABX with the other existing views, they are the same. My settings for the view are:
Access: Read, change, delete & insert
Delivery Class: C
In the table maintenance generator, i have a 2-step maintenance type, recording routine is Standard recording routine and compare flag is automatically adjustable.
Attributes for table YTAB also has delivery class C, table category is transparent table, table maintenance is allowed.

the direction in which mark points is right but i think you should get some more information on the principles of table types and sap system landscape.
Usually you should not be able to directly maintain any table. This is not only bad style but also a huge risk for the system consistency. That's why application data is always maintained via some kind of application which ensures that the data is vilidated before it is stored.
Customizing data should only be maintained within a development system and then transported through the landscape. To maintain these table you can use generated views, customer developed maintenance views, view clusters which all include automatical link to the transport system. If you would maintain these tables directly in the productiion system it would have another configuration than the development and the quality/test system which makes them more or less useless as you can no longer make any serious test if the server configurations differ.
To prohibit changes of customizing tables on production and test servers the admins lock the systems which results in the message you got. This setting is made in TCODE SCC4. Even if you have for any reason the authorization to use this transaction you should in no case change these settings without approval of basis / system owner.

Can I manipulate data in a table maintenance view (SM30)?

I have a "z" transparent table with 3 fields:

Field 2: Name
Field 3: Address
In its maintenance view (SM30) I want next:
When I capture the "User", I want to populate the "Name" and "Address" automatically. (Obviously with a previous calculate of "Name" and "Address")
Is it possible? How?

Data Maintenance view exist - but unable to modify data in SM30.

Dear all,
Had created a customized table, with "Display/Maintenance Allowed". Table maintenance is also generated. So data in the customized table can now be maintained via SM30 in the Development server.
However, when the customized table is transported into Testing server -- when attempting to modify the table in SM30,
an info message pop up stating "Client 003 has status not modifiable". With that, could not maintain the table directly.
Kindly shed so light on the matter above.

Your table maintenace generated is flaggedas 'Standard recording routine' - check in - table maintenance -> 'Dialog data transport details'.
If you want to allow to maintain in QA or in Prod box please set the flag to 'no, or user, recording routine' .

Maintenance view sm30 thru SE93

Hi All,
I have created a tcode thru SE93, using transaction SM30. I had given a viewname.
My problem is I don't want user to browse table and select a record from there to edit/mtn because the table is too big and results a short dump.
I want user to key membershipno in or select (by match code)
how to do that ? to put something in the screen field to get that ?

Hi,
When you create the maintenance view, there is a column with heading 'P'. Give the value 'S' for fields which you want to fiter. Then a filter option is shown when you generate the maintenance view.
Also you can create a report and have selection screens(Mandatory) for the fields of your choice. Then filter on the PBO event accordingly ( you may also use apposite events) based on the filter to display only relevant records if the size is more.

I have created a ztable and view,
For the view table maintenance generator created using sm30,
First time when i add reords, a blank record is added automatically ,how to prevent it,
Also when i try to add invalid data, system throws error , field becomes display only.
How to solve.

Hi Tarun,
Go to the layout and increase the size of the Screen. or at the screen attributes change the length and width values.
You know that initially the screen occupies default size only.
Hope this would serve your purpose.

How to change width of table maintenance screen in sm30

Hi,
I want to change the width of table maintenance screen in sm30 of a view. I am trying to change it through screen painter.
But its giving me error - screen or window limit reached. I want to increase the widht to show all the fields at once.
Is there any way for this?
Also, earlier in table maintenance generator of view, there was one step selected. I changed it to two steps and re-generated the TMG. But again Its showing only one screen in sm30.
Kindly tell me which step I have missed out.

Dynamic search help for one field of the SM30 generated maintenance view

Hi experts,
I have one Z* table with three fields. For that table I have generated maintenance dialog in SE55 so I can now run the maintenance in SM30. My requirement is: as soon as a user enters a value for the first field, the search help for the second field should be depended on the value in the first field. Let's say when user entered value 01 into the first field then the search help for the second field should be S_HLP01. For other values entered into the first screen the search help for the second field should be S_HLP02. Both search helps are standard (the names differ).
Is there any change how to achieve this without making completely new dynpro transaction?

You can try it this way.
pass your match-code( search help to function ) HELP_VALUES_GET_WITH_MATCHCODE and get the value and update it in your screen field.
But you have to modify the flow logic in POV event. it would be better if you create your own transaction because once the maintenance is regenerated your modified flow logic will vanish

SM30 uses the maintenance view you create, it does not create it. You have to create maintenance view by following the path in SE11>Change>Utilities-->Table Maintenance Generator.
Alternatively, you can also use SE54. Enter your table name and then select 'Generated Objects' radiobutton, press 'create'.
