SM37 how to quite an active job?

Hi, How do I stop an active job in SM37?
Thanks,
Helen

Double click on the active job and click job details button. From here note the application server and process id(PID) for the job.
Now go to transaction SM51 and double click on the application server name . you will get a list of jobs executing on that server. Select the job checkbox and goto menu Process->Cancel without core. Now come back to Sm37 and check , the job will be cancelled.
Sometimes it does not get cancelled or still shows the active status because it does not fully get diconnected from the process id. So you can check the job from SM37 by going to SM37 and goto menu Job-> check active job.it will make corrections to the job.

  • In SM37, how do you cancel a job?

    Hi,
I have a job is running.  How do I cancel it?  I click the <STOP> button and it does not work.
    Thanks,
    Helen

You need to know the process ID before you kill the job, else you would end up killing soemthign else. The best person to do this correctly is the Basis. Get is killed through them as they will check the system throughly to ensure that the job is stopped and is not running anywhere in background.

  • How to Cancel a ACTIVE background Job scheduled in SM37.

    Hi Friends,
I have scheduled a Background job. The job is ACTIVE now. How can I cancel this job?
    Regards,
    Viji

There is a last ditch method for jobs that don't get canceled for some reason or the other
Go to SM50 - first try canceling the job from there
If that doesn't work, note down the Process ID (PID) of the job
Take direct OS access to your system (You would need your Basis person for this) and terminate the job
If the server is Windows based, you can end it using the task manager and end that process id

  • How to cancel an active/running job in BW?

    Hi All,
I have a job running in the system for 2 hrs now. I want to cancel it, please suggest, how to do the same.
    Thanks,

    Hi ,
Please follow the steps as metioned below: go to T-code SM37, enter the below details
Job name = * or BI*
    User name = *
Job status = Active ( uncheck rest all )
Execute ( here you will find all the active running jobs ).Click on the job--> Go to Job -->Cancel active job. It should cancel the job.
Or you can also get the PID of the job and cancel the job by following the steps below
Goto sm50 ---> locate the process with the PID ---> select the Process -
    > menu bar ---> cancel without core.

  • How to stop and remove an active job.

How to stop and remove an active job.

What sort of "job" are you referring to? A print job? If so, open the queue for the printer - it should be in your Dock, or you can access it through the Printers & Scanners system preference - and click the green Pause button to stop the entire queue, or the Pause button next to a specific print job to pause just that job. To clear a job, click the "X" button to the right of the job.
If that's not the "job" you mean, please post back and clarify.

  • In sm37, how to run job in sequence ?

    Hello,
In sm37, how  run job1 and job2 in sequence ?  Our requirement is ,once the job1 is excuted then only job2 should be fired.
    Regards,
    Rachel

You have to modify the Job2 & in the "after job" box you have to enter "Job1" ...
Please refer to this for details: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/20/2d513897110872e10000009b38f889/content.htm]
But note that you cannot schedule job2 as "periodic" in this case.
If you want to do so you have to use "SAP Events".

  • How to suspend a single Active Job

    Hello,
I have started a transport and its background job is in released status. All the background jobs are in running status. I just want to suspend an active job and to transport the request and later i want to release that active job.
    With Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi
When you are doing a transport u have to stop the active jobs in SM37.After completing the transport you have to reschedule the jobs in SM37.
Before doing transport we have to schedule the down time and run the report BTCTRANS1 in SA38.
This report will hide the status of background jobs.
After completing the transporrt we have to run the BTCTRANS2 report it will start process of background jobs i.e released jobs come to ready state

  • HT4775 I made a DVD in compressor and even though the disk is finished, I still see the active job.  How do I clear the job off the active jobs list?

A few weeks ago, I launched compressor via FCPX to make a DVD.  Everything went fine.  The disc burned and ejected from my DVD burner, but the job is still listed under Active Jobs.  Nothing I've tried will make it go away.  Is there any way to clear that list?

Go into your Home library and open Application Support and then Compressor. Open the History sub folder and within that, open V4. Scroll down to find the job and drag it to the trash.

  • How to find out which jobs are connected to the user

Hello, i have a question, but i was unable to find the answer. The problem is that our internal consultant left the company, and there are certain jobs that run under his account. We want now to switch this jobs to other accounts. The problem we are facing is how to find out what jobs, or job steps are connected with his account, so we can safely demote his account, so that no other jobs will be run under his account. Thank you very much
    Sincerely,
    Luka Prijic

the only reliable way to do this is by scanning table TBTCP using the person's userID in field AUTHCKNAM and filtering by job statuses: scheduled, released, ready and active (sorry I can't remember the code#'s off top of my head, something like P=scheduled, S=scheduled...you have to look it up).   When you search SM37 it only permits you to scan by the userID who created the job, but it won't tell you if a different userID is defined in a job step.  That's why you need to scan TBTCP.  Don't forget that you should also check for a user's open Workflow items before deletion.
I noticed some posts in this forum that suggest a userID should never be deleted, only locked, added to a special user group, and all role assignments removed.  However I've never worked somewhere that does this.
