Hi
The procedure you wrote i.e. SM50>Process>Trace>Dispatcher>Trace file displays the dev_disp file that would give the trace for the displatcher file.
dev_w0 should be the trace for work process 00(first work process) that would be showing you a RED status for an error in it or because the threshold parameter for max run time for a work process would have exceeded.
however the trace file holds the history for all the jobs/processes that ran in that work process. Some RED lines in the trace may indicate errors that may have occured previously in the WP.
Every job executed in a WP has its logs maintained in the trace file. You can see the timestamps for each of them in the file. Check for the time you were logged in and see if the errors actually occured for your process.
I hope this helps.Feel free to revert back for any queries.
Regards
Chen

Dear Friends,
When i execute transaction SM50 it shows me processes status but i didnt understant Err coloum from it.if i restart (procee->restart after error->yes) will it effect the production users or server.
Please explaint it and suggest hoe to remove it.
thanks in advance.
vinnuSee F1 online help:
The column "Err" indicates "how many times a work process has terminated. A work process can be terminated by the administrator or due to an error."
[remark: only hard errors will terminate a work process; those errors typically result in core dumps and indicate severe kernel errors; if such errors occur try to retrieve the callstack information out of the core dump (or evaluate the ABAP runtime error information using transaction ST22) and report this information to SAP (including the exact kernel version)].
The column "Time" contains the "elapsed clock time used by a work process for the dialog step that is currently processing. A large figure may indicate that a user has locked a work process for debugging or that the work process has become hung through a programming error or system problem."
[Notice: the time a work process can be occupied by a single task is restricted; if the threshold (-> profile parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time) is exceeded, the task (but <u>not</u> the work process) is terminated; only if the termination of the task fails, the work process will also be terminated].

Seems to be a problem with your GUI as the dump MESSAGE_TYPE_X is generally related to GUI. Use some higher version of GUI than the existing one.
Also Updates are not active in your system. Use transaction SM13 to check whether updates are active or not. If not then use transaction SM14 to turn on the updates.

There are lots of error in my prd system. The line of DUMP all display red. Can somebody help me ?
Hi ,
If you just wash out these dumps from SM50 then give a safe restart to the system. This will clear dumps from SM50.
If you are facing any issues please elaborate more and share ST22 dump details.
For reference please follow SCN threadsDumps with tx sm50

Error while loading a Cube in BW - "Waiting for Semaphore"
Hello Experts:
I seem to be having a frequent problem while doing a Delta load from BW (3.5) cube to exactly similar cube in BI 7.0.
The load is done daily via a Process Chain. Before doing the Delta load, I also have a step to DELET Index from the
cube in BI. The Delta loads have been successful but frequently they take about 7 or 8 hours to load. The number of
records are not many 80,000 to 140,000 records range. There have been successful loads for similar range withing
7 or 8 minutes. However, when it gets hung up it takes 7 or 8 hours.
Looks like it is a Lock happening in 3.5 BW system. Tcode SM12 shows that it is locked and then in T. Code SM66, it
shows that it is hun for resources..... The message inicated is "Waiting for Semaphore". After about 7 hours, the load
automatically happens.
This is causing issues becuase the upward data loads don't happen and Users can not access the data until late afternoon
for their planning in BPC.
Is there a way this error or Waiting for Semaphore be avoided or time is reduced....? How can I achieve this? Any
fne tuning tricks anyone can suggest please......!!
Thanks a lot in advance. Thanks to both of you.... ppreciate the feedback. I guess, I will have to wait for the situation to arise again as today's delta went normally. I will see if this happens again. I am not sure whether the Semaphore number is same as the "Work Process Number" in SM66 (which was 3 in my case) or is it the Process ID (which is 22872082 in my case).
If I go to SM50, I shoudl find either the Process ID then.
Would I be searching for the OSS notes corresponding to Process ID (in this case 22872082...? or would it for sempahore number (if it is different .... as I mentioned 3 in my case..?
Could you please clarify which is Semaphore number and if it is same as the process ID I am talking about so that I can search for the right OSS notes.
Also, finding all this will only tell me why it hung.... but is there a way we can make it kick off and not get stuck or I have to wait it out until the resources get released.....? Which in my case then would stil be a wait for 6/7 hours!!
Apreciate your feedback.
Best..... Lee -

Edited by: ebrahime on Jan 31, 2010 11:37 AMthanks for your reply. i wanted to add 2 thing after the installation the password i entered in installation was not working for all the super users that is why i had to delete SAP* from database and change the j2ee_Admin password.
you mentioned that the java stack is unable to communicate with abap stack but i can login to portal by j2ee_admin user. but when i go to identity management then it give the error i gave you earlier.

This involves using the followingtransaction codes:SE16-Data Browser SM30-Call View Maintenance SM31-Call View Maintenance Like SM30These transactions enable users to maintain BASIS systemtables and conflict with the following transactions in thesystem administration area:SM50-Work Process Overview SM51-List of SAP Systems SM58-Asynchronous RFC Error Log SM59-RFC Destination
I checked the file numerous times and removed extra tabs and extra spaces in between, but it's still not working. I even shortened the Description thinking that it might have been too long... so I just put it the first three words "System Administration Functions", but still it's throwing an error.
I also compared the downloaded file from 4.0 against the actual record from the system, and found out that the Description is actually TRUNCATED!
Has anyone got a clue?
Please help! Thank you.Hi Liezl,
You're not supposed to import CC 4.0 rules into CC 5.3 as the 5.3 ruleset is very different than 4.0 and has lot more data and transactions added since 4.0. If you have many customized rules, you'll have to recreate them in the 5.3 ruleset. But best will be to upload the latest GRC 5.3 Support Pack version on CC and the latest SP version's rules set from SAP. Then create similar files combination customized rule set for your customized rules. This way you have that separate instead of having to reload all the changes again. So, you will have 2 different ruleset to run reports on. The 'global' one from SAP and then your own company customized one with only the custom rules , etc.
Once you've initially loaded the rules and it's working correctly, any other changes you will do to the rules later on to disable certain rules or ignore them, do it directly in the GRC DEV system and apply to one backend system rules. And then use the utilities under Rules tab to import /export to other back end ECC systems to apply the same changes and generate, which will be easier.
Thanks,

How to find the details of the BPC process running in SM37 and SM50
We had BPC performance issues and noticed that there are some process or batch jobs that are kicked from BPC that runs longer and kind of hanging. SM37 and SM50 provides some information like job name, how long it is running. Job name is kind of cryptic and the user name is always BPC_SYSADMIN and not able to get any additional information. Is there a way to find more details about the job/process that is running (whether it is a input template and which input template, whether it is a DM package and which package, whether it a report/EVDRE and which one etc. Plus the BPC user name)?
Couple of times, the user received the error message u201CSystem error: -2146697205u201D after it ran for a while. You can distinguish between reports and DM Packages easily: reports/IS run in DIA process while DM packages in BGD.
To find out which BGD process corresponds to which DM Package take note of the time that package started (Local time). Than go to SM37 with user ID BPC* and find a job that started at same time (Server time).
Looking into job details you can find on what Application server it's running and PID - this uniqely identifies BGD process in SM50.
Hope this helps.

I tried to follow the instructions in note 1269960, but the enhancement spot
CLASSIFICATION_TOOL was already active. I activated it again and reran the phase
but got the same error. Also, I couldn't implement the note using SNOTE because it is
the middle of the upgrade process.
I also found the following long text in ST22
"Internal error during syntax check: ("//bas/710_REL/src/krn/gen/scsymb.c#11"
Processing had to be terminated because an internal error
occurred when generating the ABAP/4 program

The internal system error cannot be fixed by ABAP means only."
I am on a 64 bit System with CentOS Linux. 8 GB RAM, 250 GB HD with 20 GB free space.
So far, I could not find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
VictorHi Victor,
Go to SM37 and put in the username as DDIC and see the job log.
Also check Sm50 and see whether you have BTC processes available.
Last but not the least check your filesystem space usage too.

Background Job Run - Error Msg
Hi all,
When i run my report as background job it is failing.
In report i have checked one condition n if that do not satisfy it will give error. but in any situation the background job fails though condition satifies but the spool is getin created.
when i debug the report it gives no error in that report but after it gives System message '' Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE''.
any guidelines will be appreciated...
regards,
vikas.thankx for your reply..
it is not giving me any dump or something neither my report contains any popup window.
thing is that i am checking one error value at the event END-OF-SELECTION and giving some error mesg depending upon that.
when i check this in debug mode in background mode itself (thr' JDBG or SM50) the value of error mesg is empty...so idealy the report is executed fine but when after words i go for F8 it gives me that error message.

unfortunately it is not possible to do it, because I have only remote access to the SAP system.
Is it possible to analyse the problem with the log files?
If yes --> which logs should I post here?

Error in transmission with BBPSC01
I have typical problem where in
When ordered, SC created via BBPSC02 goes through without errors. But the cart that is created via BBPSC01 will have ' Error in Transmission, With an error 'SE142 please enter qunatity in line 3000111'. This error is coming from the backend in the RFC mode while debugging BBP_REQREQ_TRANSFER.
This happens only when number items in the cart are more than four, if the items were less than or equal to 4, follow on document is created even in case of BBPSC01.
We are implementing BADI for Follow-on-Document for service-category.
May I know 1.what could be the difference between these two templates.2.And where they exactly these dump the values 3. How could I go from here 4.what fields I need to look while debugging.
Input will be:
BBPSC02: User selects description item and the service button, enters the price, quantiy as 1 service unit and selects the a specific-service-Category
BBPSC01: Selects the Same category as in BBPSC02 enters the same data .
Thank you,
ManyamThank you.
This is a long code please bear with me. And provide your suggestion.

Error in loading standard item
Hello friends,

When i execute in RSRT2 transaction i can get the chart display. Also when i execute Graphics_IGS_CHART_TEST also i can get the charts and all graphics.
But when i execute the template it gives the error.
Some one please help me to solve this issue..
Thanks
Ram.Hi,
Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the new data table.
Thanks,
