Small amount of water on iPhone 4S

Hey there,
So, stupid me had my phone next to the sink while I was loading the dishwasher. As I was putting a bowl away, there was a little water left (1-2 teaspoon) in the bowl, and that water sloshed out of bowl and onto the phone. I immediatly picked it up, turned it off and patted it dry. I checked and it doesnt seem like any water got into anything, And maybe only about a half-teaspoon of water actually made it onto phone. And even then, only the glass, none of the metal and none activly in any port.
Basically just wondering if I'm worrying too much? My phone has been lightly rained on and been fine. (Again, only touching the glass). It was about the same amount of water, just all at once this time.

care package doesnt cover spills, accidents or theft.
flashing screen, .....youve destroyed the inverter board inside the monitory assy.
how exactly did you get it wet inside its bag?
leave it out in the cold and bring it into the warmth and condensation?

Depending on where the iPhone was purchased, you may be able to
return it for $/credit and then buy the color you prefer. If past the
return window the seller allows, use a case like Briansyddall suggested above.

  • Is it possible to have smaller icons under ios7 with iPhone 4S?

Is it possible to have smaller icons under ios7 with iPhone 4S?

I have an iPAD and my wife has an iPAD mini.  The new size of the icons is very bad.  What would be nice would be to have a variable under Settings where the user could select.  Like small, medium and large.  The same amount of space could be allocated per icon, so you would not have to squeeze more icons on a page.  It would just allow for some personalization of the pages.

  • Dropping iphone in water, dropping iphone in water

I dropped my phone in my tea for literally 2 seconds..the part that went in was where the headphone jack can go into? I can make calls and people can call me, but I can only hear them on speaker phone?

I got liquid into my iPhone, a  small amount of liquid that went into the earpiece opening on the front the iPhone.  I had the same problem as you for about a week and then all of a sudden the earpiece started working again.  I guess it did when it finally completely dried out.  I suggest you turn your iPhone off for about a week to see if drying it completely will get it to work normally again.  Apparently putting it in a bag or bowl with rice can get it to dry quicker as rice will abosrb humidity.
This was my first iPhone a 3G in 2008.  My niece now has this iPhone and is using it as an iPod touch, but I recently tested it by putting my Sim card on it with an adapter for size and it still works perfectly as a phone as well.

  • Water Damaged iPhone 5!!! Please help!

So about 3 days go, I got up from bed to get a cup of water in the middle of the night.  I set it down on my bed side table next to my phone.  I wake up about three hours later, and i see my iPhone 5 (which is in an Otter Box) in a small puddle of water.  I don't remember spilling so I have no idea how long it was sitting in water.  I immediately take it out of its case and dry it off.  It didn't seem to be too wet and I questioned whether or not water had even seeped into the inside or just was sitting on the outisde.  It may or may not have already been out of battery so I had no idea whether it was actually damaged.  I plugged it into the charger and then realized nothing was coming onto the screen.  I immediately put it in rice after that and haven't touched it besides changing rice everyday and kind of shaking it to see if any water is coming out.  I'm looking for advice on when would be a good time to try to turn it back on.  I know that you can short curcuit it if theres still water on the inside.  I feel like since it wasn't even close to being fully submerged that I have a good shot for the rice to work.  I've heard mixed reviews about blow drying on low heat, so i'm intrigued but scared to try it.  Any tips would really be appreciated.  I don't have apple care plus and I'm broke so this is quite the dilemma.  Thanks in advance!!

Sorry, it appears you were scammed. The phone you have was replaced, either under warranty, or as an out of warranty replacement, & should have been returned to Apple. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous retailers will fix these phones, & then re-sell them. Your only option is to go back to whoever you purchased the phone from & confront them

  • Spilled a small amount of Gin on my keyboard, now certain keys are acting up!

    Hi everyone.
My week is just getting better lol. This evening I spilt a very small, maybe half a shot glass worth of Gin on my 2010 macbook pros keyboard. I switched it off, got the hair dryer on it and left it for a short while. Then turned it back on. All was fine it started up ok, but then whilst typing I noticed that some of the keys such has the H, F, R and Y are putting other letter e.g. If I hit H, F comes up before it. And to increase the brightness brings up the calculator etc. Its now upside down in my room with sum kitchen towel underneath the keyboard.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice as to what I should do. It's switched off and i'm hoping it will right itself. It really was a small amount i'm just terrified i'm going to have to replace the keyboard....
    Thanks in advance folks!

    Well more then likely Yes.
It seems that Mac's do not do well with ANY amount of Liquid spilt on them. From the smallest amount they can go completely DEAD.
Could be yours only needs the keybaord replaced. Lets hope that is all that needs to be replaced. The keyboard has multilayer films that make and break a connection. If there is water/liquid in between those layered films then you can get either a different key then what you pressed of multiple letters or nothing at all.
But then it all depends on how the keyboard is connected to the Logic board. If it is connected like the CPU and GPU are, they are solder to the logic board, then the complete Logic board would need replacing to fix the keyboard problem.
Give it a few more day to dry out and keep it off.

  • I have a water damage iPhone 5s would like to change to new set with top up the money. But the staff told me it couldn't be done due to some of my minor parts are missing according to company policy. I need advise as I want to change it.

    Hi all,
I have a water damage iPhone 5s was bring to service center to have new set change with top up the money. Well, the staff were told me that the phone can't be change due to some of minor parts are missing in the phone. He said this is due to company policy. I would like to check is that nothing can do with this missing minor parts? I really doubt the policy of the Apple as I was told as long as you bring to the service center, they will assists. As Apple is a well known brand top of the world, but the servicing is really make me so disappointed! I really doubt should I still continue to support the Apple product with helpless service!
Would like to take this opportunity to seek the professional advise in order to get my phone change back.
    Appreciate very much!
    Thanks.

Well, your service is handled by an Authorized Apple Service Center. If they refuse to handle the claim, that is well within their rights. Apple as well could void a claim under the same circumstances. I'm not saying that you did or did not modify the device, but you could try and talk to a supervisor there and make another request. You can also try and contact Apple by obtaining a number with this support document and describe your problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • If I'm already paying 149.99 to replace my water damaged Iphone 4 can I pay the Iphone 4s replacement price and get that instead? If No explain why please . Thank you

I have a water damaged Iphone 4 I have had for only 8 months. Today I went to the apple store to see how much a replacement was and the girl told me 149.99 for my iphone. What I was wondering is can i pay the replacment cost of an Iphone 4s and get that instead . I dont see the problem since my phone is broken anyways . But I would like to hearf if any one has tried the same thing.
    Thanks

The only exception would be if there were no like models available.  There was a short period when there were not sufficient supplies of the 3gs to effect warranty replacements.  In that case, they replaced the 3GS with a 4 at no additional charge.  But the warranty fine print specifies that they will repair or replace the device, at their discresion.

Probably dead if you have tried to charge it.
You should never try to charge or turn on a wet electronic device.
You should let it dry for  a week or so, then try.

  • I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. It spent time underwater, saltwater. I let it dry for a week, turned it on, the apple symbol came on, then it died. I need to retrieve my photos off it. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

You're talking about the logic board. The two most likely things to get toasted, with water damage, are the battery(it shorts out), & the logic board. The worst water damage would be salt water. I'm afraid your logic board is toast.

  • Aspect Ratio 16:9 cropping off small amount of all sides on export...?

I have a project, all data captured @ DV/NTSC 16:9 anamorphic SD. In DVD Studio Pro it looks correct.
In Preferences, I have tried exporting 16:9, and 4:3 and either way, when played on any of my DVD players or screens, the apect ration doesn't show bars @ the top and bottom of the screen (the screen is set to 16:9) and a small amount of the top and bottom, and a bit more of the sides are cut off of the viewing image. I've gone round and round with different tests, and decided I need some help.
    Thanks -
    Joel

    Hi Steve -
Thanks for the info. My TV is 16:9, and I didn't know about overscan. I just switched the 'Action Safe' setting, and sure enough, that is what I am seeing on my TV screen(s). So what now? How do I make everything fit the smaller size w/o cropping off the area? I'm almost there.
    Thanks SO much -
    Joel
What you don't say is what kind of tv you are
    checking this on - is it a 4:3 set, a 16:9 set?
Are you aware of a thing called overscan? TVs all
display their pcitures with a slight overscan - this
means that a small proportion of the picture
disappears into the surround of the tv. Usually when
you display the same DVD on a computer screen this
doesn't occur. This may be where some of your
confusion is arising. This is why you also have
marked areas in DVD-SP called Title Safe and Action
Safe. These show you where you can safely have action
running and it not be cropped by the overscan and
also shows where it is reasonable to place text to
give enough "air" around it that it won't be cropped
or too close to the edge of the screen.
You also need to make sure (as Thomas points out)
that the track that contains your 16:9 anamorphic
movie is set up right - and that is encoding as 16:9
    Letterbox or Anamorphic.
Thenyou also need to be sure that your DVD player is
outputting a 16:9 letterbox signal also... Lots of
    place which are potential trip-ups

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match.  Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

  • Transferring data from water-damaged iphone to replacement iphone

Will/Can Apple download picture, apps, etc. from your water-damaged iphone onto the replacement iphone?

No... Apple cannot and will not.
It is the users responsibility to regularly backup their content via iTunes on the computer or iCloud.
All media and apps acquired via iTunes should exist in iTunes on the users computer.

  • How much does it usually cost to fix water damaged iphone?

Will Apple be able to fix my water damaged iPhone and how much will it cost? The screen is black and won't come back on. It's only 1 month old and I hate to ditch it and get a refurbished one through insurance claim. I'm not sure if I'm asking this question in the right forum, though! Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your quick answer! So they won't fix the one I have for sure? I will get a refurbished phone?

  • Best way to store small amount of data to file?

If I need to store, edit, and retrieve small amounts of data for a desktop app (let's say a small address book with name, address, phone, etc), what are my choices with JavaFX? As far as I can tell, there is no built-in database to handle this...
What about the same need for a web-based app?
    thanks
