Small blips in audio in timeline

ok this only just happened today idk why but when i place an audio file (mp3 mp4 ripped, bought doesnt matter) i get small blips in the audio most noticeable when theres only one instrument playing or one person singing, its almost like audio hiccups every second and it does it after exporting it as well. it works fine in the sample window but in the timeline its doing this.
idk if this is related either but im wondering if fce is working right becuz ive always had to render something everytime i import it or even just move text on the screen i could still make movies fine but it would take forever due to all the rendering

its not a beep its just a small annoying blip almost like someone is tapping something leather in the background and it messes with the audio itself it sounds like the audio is skipping every second it does that

Why does the audio timeline gather small bunches of audio digits...up and down everytime I make an audio change on the mixer?

  • Importing HDV files (.m2t) no audio in timeline (or sound gaps in audio file) ONLY IN CS6 !

After importing HDV files, wait for conforming, and drop the files to sequence, on some files there is no audio at all or partial audio.
All files played OK in any mediaplayer.
I have no such problems in CS5 or 5.5 using the same files in the same project and sequence type. HDV 1080i/25
I reinstall PR CS6 and I delete all ".cfa" and ".pek" files, but no success.

All right so what I just discover so far in order to resolve this non sense bug thing, I've exported the faulted sequence in EDL, track by track.
On the original sequence, I had a Prores 422 video clip name "Clip 497" that was manually sync with an audio file call "Audio 10".
At another timecode in the original timeline, I had a h264 clip name "MVI_0050" that was synced with an audio file call "Tascam_0455".
I said that when I select only an audio file in the timeline and I make reveal in the project, it links me to the correct audio file in the bin but when I make match frame or reveal in the finder, it links the audio to a video file. The
Well the EDL just confirmed that, in the timeline created by the EDL, I have to relink manually all the files (wich is a pain in...) and my mysterious audio file "Audio 10" appears with the name "MVI_0050", I can still link it to the original "Audio 10" but I don't understand HOW an audio get to be linked to a video file......
The audio file coming from the Tascam still have their original names in the timeline.
Very weird and not very cool.
Oh  and guess what, after closing Premiere and re open it, my sequence coming from the EDL where I spent 1 hours to manually relink the media....does not have sound anymore.......................

  • No audio on Timeline Premiere Elements 13 and no longer on 12 after upgrading to 13.

On my Mac with OS X Yosemite I've worked with Premiere Elements 12 for a while and it just worked fine. Now I;ve upgraded to Elements 13 and the clips that were fine the other day have now lost there audio when I put them on the Timeline. However if I double click the clip in project assets and play it on the clip monitor everything is fine, but as soon as I send it to the timeline or storyboard the audio disappears. I'm in a spot now as I can't use 13 and neither return to Elements 12. Any ideas will be very much apprexiated.

    Momentary detour.....
Could we go over the path
Just a week ago I created a movie with Elements 12 on this same Mac with OS X Yosemite and ij
just worked fine. On second thoughts the movie was a bit too long, so I
imported the saved project to re-edit it, only to find out that the audio
had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline. I closed
elements 13 and reopened 12 and the saved project with the same result.
When you got to second thoughts, what did you do....
    a. rebuild the project anew in Premiere Elements 13?
    b. import the Premiere Elements 12 export in Premiere Elements 13?
    c. open the Premiere Elements 12 project in Premiere Elements 13?
I ask since you cannot import one project file into another and you wrote "imported the saved project".
You wrote after the file was drag from Premiere Elements 13 Project Assets to Timeline
only to find out that the audio had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline.
What was gone - the representation of the whole audio clip on the audio track or just the sound
for the whole? Was the duration of the clip listed in Project Assets, the same as observed at
    its Timeline level?
If you took this Premiere Elements 13 Timeline (problem audio there) to export, was there sound in the export?
If you create a project in an earlier version, it is often possible to open it in a later version to work with the project in the later version.
But, you cannot open the later version edited project in the earlier project again. So, I was not sure what you were describing when
    you wrote
I closed elements 13 and reopened 12 and the saved project with the same result.
    What saved project?
    Premiere Elements 13 Audio
Please consider deleting the Media Cache Files Folder where the program saves the automatically generated conformed audio.
To locate that Folder, on Windows I could go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks/Media Cache to find location for the Media Cache Files Folder. Is that the
    same for Mac?
Also, please let us know if the flawed Premiere Elements 13 Timeline audio content exports OK or contains the flaws encountered before export.
Again, please excuse if I have included things that you were already aware of. Because of the nature of your issue, I did not want to take anything for grant.

  • Premiere 10 has stop play video audio on timeline

My premiere element 10 all of sudden stop play audio on my timeline or preview. I have uninstall and reinstall it back to see if that would help. I play the video on other player and the sound plays normally. I use a mac computer and it was working find up untill last night. • Editing Audio from Timeline in Another Program

Often, one will want to edit the Audio on the Timeline, in another application, like Adobe Audition. Premiere versions allow for this to be done easily, and with exacting control.
Let's say that one has dozens of edited Clips on the Timeline, and they wish to edit ALL of the Audio. * Editing those individual Clips is easy, but how does one edit them all in one file, which will then replace the original Audio in the Clips?
The best way to accomplish this is to Export, or Share the Timeline as an Audio Only file. This Export/Share will be slightly different, depending on the exact Premiere program, and even on the version of that Premiere Program. Often, the Audio-only Export/Share is from the MS AVI Export/Share screen. One would choose Export Audio, leaving Export Video unchecked. If Multiplexing does not automatically set to "None," choose that now.
For this "round-trip" process, the Audio file format is very important. The ideal choice of Export/Share is PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. This will yield an uncompressed Audio file, that almost every Audio editing program will easily handle, and is also the format, that one will want to Export, or Save from the Audio editor, for the second leg of our round-trip.
Import, or Open that resultant PCM/WAV in the Audio editing program, and edit, as is needed. When done, just Export, or Save (depends on the program) that edited Audio as a PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. In some Audio editing programs, this will be listed as WAV (Uncompressed). The Sample-Rate and Bit-Depth are important, as the 48KHz and 16-bit are the ideal for any flavor of Premiere, and though Conforming will be necessary for editing, it will be easy on the program, and there will be no issues. Stay away from any compressed Audio formats/CODEC's, like MPEG/MP3. You do not want to throw away precious data at any step. That is why we use PCM/WAV for the Export/Share, and then the Export/Save from the Audio editing program.
When done, just Import that resultant PCM/WAV into Premiere. Wait a moment for all Conforming to complete, and then drag that WAV to the Timeline, on a free Audio Track that matches your WAV's Channel-count, i.e. a 2-channel Audio Track for Stereo, or a 1-channel Audio Track for Mono (these must match in Premiere). For more detail on channel-count and Audio Tracks, see this ARTICLE.
Now comes a personal preference for completing this round-trip. I like to leave my original Audio, just in case I change my mind. Gathering up and Trimming the original Audio can be a tedious task. As I have placed my edited WAV onto an empty Audio Track, I just go to Window>Audio Mixer, and Mute any/all Audio Tracks, containing my original Audio. It's still there, if I ever need it, but is now Muted.
    Hope that this helps,
    Hunt
    * Sometimes we want part of the Timeline's Audio, but that part spans multiple Clips. There is no need to Export/Share the entire Timeline, and then Trim it. Just set the WAB (Work Area Bar) to the part that we do want, and make sure to choose "Work Area" in the Export/Share settings dialog.
Also, and especially when doing just a segment, covered by the WAB, I like to position the CTI (Current Time Indicator) or Playhead (CS 5.5) at the beginning of the WAB, with Snap ON. As I drag my edited WAV to the free Audio Track, it will Snap into place, right at the beginning of the WAB.

There isn't any simply way to where you want to go.
You can export each track separately. Switch off the audibility for all the tracks except one. Export the track. Repeat for each of the tracks in the timeline. Export the video for reference.

  • Small portions of audio dropped: perfect in FCP 4.5, dropped in QT 7

    Hi-
I re-edited the audio portion of two short films, 5 mins each, in final cut pro 4.5. Then I went to Export > to Quicktime movie and let it convert to a quicktime file. During playback within QT I noticed that short parts of the audio, maybe 5 seconds, were dropped. You can hear all of the voiceover but not quite all of the background music. Much of what I did this time around was to turn the backing music down a bit, in addition to cleaning up the vocals. The vocals I hear. Sometimes the music disappears, only to reappear.
When I play the whole thing in Final Cut Pro, I hear it exactly how I want it.
I never had this problem using the same applications 5 months ago when the sound was a bit over the top. Can someone please advise?
    Thanks!

Well quite. I have just tried it in the internal hard drive and it works fine now. I am going to have to capture everything to my small hard drive and move it across to the external. Then, when I have finished I am going to bang my head against the wall and buy an external HDD with Firewire.
    Thanks,

  • Clip won't play audio in timeline

I can play and skim my clips in the event browser fine and can hear the audio, but when i bring it down in to the timeline the audio does not play only the clip, and yes in the toolbar the for the pop up menu for the append buttons all is selected, so both audio and video appear in the timeline...
    Cold someone assist please?

The same thing is happening to me, just as Allan first described:
I can play and skim my clips in the event browser fine and can hear the audio, but when I bring it down into the timeline, the audio doesn't play, nor does a WAV form appear in the timeline. Once in the timeline, the clip only shows/plays the video without sound.
This is an entirely new problem for me ... Any help?

  • Speeding up audio on timeline ends up cutting off a chunk at the end. Help?

Hello all. I'm trying to shorten an audio file on my timeline by speeding it up, but when I do FCP ends up cutting off a good number of seconds from the end. Any suggestions?

Well, speeding up an audio file naturally makes it shorter. A far better way to shorten an audio file (assuming it's not synced to the video) is to just razor blade it at the end and fade it out by keyframing the levels or adding a long audio dissolve. Or by editing it so that it does fit.
    Any use?

  • How To:  Loop Audio In Timeline

    Hi,
Sorry if this is a bit newbieish but I am just learning the product and the MAC all at once.
I am using a loop clip from Soundtrack, say the typewritter sound. I am typing some text on my screen and matching the typewritter sound up with it.
The problem I'm having is that I have to copy and paste the typewritter sound clip over and over for the length of my video clip. There must be a better way of doing this but when I try things like changing the duration of the sound clip in the timeline, it does not change.
Is there a way for me to get the typewritter sound to loop for a specific amount of time while the video clip I'm showing is running?
Thank you and sorry again, I'm sure this is a simple one to answer but I have not found it despite alot of searching!
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4)   Kick Azzz Machine!

How short is your audio? Just one key stroke at a time?
If so you'd be best off looping the sound in Soundtrack if you have it. You can't change the duration of your audio in FCP without lowering the pitch. But if you don't mind that, then just right click on your audio track, select speed and then enter 50% to double the length.

  • Dragging audio to timeline

When dragging an audio file to the timeline and expecting it to go in A3 and A4 it instead goes to A3 and A5. Works fine, but doesn't "look good."
Even if I drag to A1 and A2 it wants to be placed in A1 and A3
    What am I doing wrong?
    Tim

Just to the left side of the timeline are your audio controls that you can expand or contract by clicking the "audio control" button in the very low left hand corner of the FCE work space.
It may be that you have your "source" and "detination" tracks plugged into tracks you do not want. If your stereo audio tracks need to go to tracks A3 and A4, then be sure that the source audio buttons are connected to those destination tracks. Also make sure those tracks are not "muted" or "locked".
If you hover your arrow tool around the left margin of the time line, you will find the "hint" to all of these controls.
    Good luck!

  • Final Cut Express 4. Audio in Timeline?

    Hi,
Can someone please explain the reason for the adio not playing in the Timeline? All I hear is the continual pips.

    Hi
This is a very Basic Question.
    • When You put audio or video into TimeLine it HAS TO be in a format that plays OK
To do this one has to "Render" it - Go up to Sequence menu and then down to Render All
    and let it do this.
FinalCut Express and Pro are VERY effective work tools BUT there is a bit of learning
to be friend with either of them.
I've just read Tom Wolsky - teaching book on FinalCut Express 4 - Very well spent time
to a very reasonable cost both in time and money.

  • Small flaws in audio of my exported movie

I have created a movie in Final Cut Express 4 based on full HD footage from my Sony HDR-CX6 camcorder.
Imported with the Apple intermediate Coded 1080i50.
I have used mostly MP3 and AAC songs as background music.
After exporting (quicktime format), I hear small flaws in the audio tracks (very short hesitations in the audio tracks).
What am I doing wrong? What can I do to prevent this?
    Thanks for the help!!

    I have two suggestions:
    1. Use aiff files in FCE, this is the format it uses. Also FCE Sequences can be either 32 or 48 kHz, the aiff audio file needs to match the sequence audio rate.
    2. Mix Down the audio prior to any export.

  • L & R audio in timeline

I'd like my L & R audio tracks from my video clips to be on 2 mono tracks in the timeline instead of being forced into a stereo audio track.
    Is it possible?
I've got shotgun on L & lav on R. I'd like them seprated in my timeline.

Sure. Before you use any of your footage in a sequence, select the clips and go to Clip > Modify > Audio Channels. Tick the "Mono" radio button. That's all there is to it, but you do have to do this before you use the footage in a sequence. You can apply this change to multiple clips at once.

  • Timeline with one audio track - timeline two audio tracks

A colleague of mine did a pre edit for me. Somehow the second audio track in the whole sequence disapeared.
Is there a quick way to get the second audio track back?

Go to the auto save vault and start wandering back in time till you find where it disappeared?
Somewhat unclear as to what you are asking.
    Do you mean:
    the original file has disappeared
    or
the reference to it on the timeline disappeared
    or
    the file is offline ?
