  • Simple frame around pictures

Hi, I'm trying to simply place a thin border around either a block of text or photo so they stand out as boxed on a white background.  Can anyone help.
    Thanks

Thanks Barbara, what about putting the frame around the entire canvas.
Here is one way to create a frame outside the picture.
    1. Create new layer beneath the picture layer. Note that if the picture layer is named "Background" (the default name) then you must first rename it to anything else.
    2. Image > Resize > Canvas Size, and increase Width & Height by same amount (but not percent), twice your desired border size.
    3. Fill new layer with the frame color.
    Or you can simply:
    1. Set the Background color chip at the bottom of the toolbar to your frame color.
    2. Image > Resize > Canvas Size, and increase Width & Height by same amount (not percent), twice your desired border size.

  • I'd like to eliminate the frames around pictures on blog summary & entries.

I am using a theme (darkroom) that places a 4px white border around the pics which I would like to remove. I have done it manually on the Welcome & About Me pages, and with the built-in tools on Album & Photo pages. I have figured out how to do it by modifying the resulting source of the pages once they have been published, but I would like to modify the the templates that are producing the pages, specifically the blog summary on the main blog page and blog entry pages. The article that has been cited many times @ 11Mystic is helpful, but as has been pointed out, is incomplete, and more importantly, does not address iWeb 3.0. Any help on locating the appropriate files to modify, and perhaps a search string to locate the appropriate section of code?
    TIA.

    Thanks a bunch.
No way! was my initial response to your post, as I spent several hours last night tying to find the Shared folder w/in the darkroom.webtheme package, but was only seeing the *.lproj folders. I went back several times & continued looking right past the Shared folder - must have been the late hour. I just assumed that this was a change from 2.0 to 3.0. Didn't see it until just now. So I guess I'll need to add fuzzy thinking to the list of personal failings I'm working on, in addition to poor eyesight.
In any case, my bad & thanks again.
Regarding changing the stroke*.png files, I had considered making changes to these files, but wanted to preserve them for potential future use, hence the reason I was looking to modify the xml.
I'll poke around in there and see what I can see. I'm working on a copy, so no worries about screwing things up seriously. If I can't figure it out, I know a good place to get answers...

  • How do I Add a Picture Frame Around a Flash Video?

I tried searching for this but "frame" has too many meanings. I have flv videos inserted in several web pages, but they look dull without some sort of fancy border or frame around them. Maybe a picture frame. Maybe the image of a flat screen TV surrounding the image. But how do I add the image "behind" the video so that the video sits perfectly inside the image, regardless of the monitor viewing the image.

Do a google search for the IE PNG Fix javascript.  Some work better than others.  The one you had didn't work at all for PNG backgrounds in pre-IE7.
Copy and Paste the following document into a new blank page and see how it looks in all the major browsers.  I changed your document type to XHTML transitional and replaced deprecated <div align> tags with inline CSS styles.  I also ran your Flash code through http://validifyer.com to make it XHTML compliant.

  • Forever Theme Frames around drop zone pictures - can I remove them?

I'm using the forever theme. There are frames around drop zone photo's - not buttons. I've tried hitting the buttons bar with the drop zone highlighted and clicking the none button - but it stays with a white boarder around it. So - i looked in the theme contents - but I don't find anything that looks like a white frame... I checked out the plist file -and it looked all compiled - funny script and all - any way to eliminate these frames? I use a lot of transparent gifs for the purpose that I don't want a frame around them - so they just float over the background.

    Does this help?
    From the iDvd Help Menu:
Repositioning an image or movie in a drop zone
When you drag a picture or movie into a drop zone, the aspect ratio of the image is preserved, but it is scaled larger or smaller to fill the drop zone. As a result, sometimes part of the image is cut off and does not appear in the drop zone. In this case, you can move the image to choose which portion is visible in the drop zone.
To reposition an image or movie in a drop zone:
1.) From the drop zone on the menu (not in the drop zone editor), click the image or movie and press Command.
2.) Drag the image until the part you want is visible in the drop zone.
Keep these things in mind as you position an image:
If you drag a narrow image to a drop zone, the image is scaled vertically, and you can move the image up or down only.
If you drag a wide image to a drop zone, the image is scaled horizontally, and you can move the image side to side only.
If you accidentally drag the image too far, you will remove it from the drop zone. (The cursor changes from a hand to a puff of smoke.) Choose Edit > Undo to restore the image to the drop zone.
Repositioning a movie in a drop zone is different from selecting which part of a movie shows in a drop zone (which allows you to select which frame of the movie is displayed in a drop zone). For more information, see Related Topics below.

  • 'Picture frame' around open window

After I updated to OS10.4.10 via a download, many applications (including Office) would not open. I reloaded the original disks for my MacBook (OS10.4.6) (not a clean reload) and the applications now work. However, the frontmost (open) window now has a bizarre antique-style picture frame as a border around it that I do not know how to delete!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I've never seen an antique picture frame around a window.

These "downgrade" installs may seem to work, but Apple does not test nor recommend downgrade installations in most cases. Some installers prevent downgrade installations. If you need to reinstall an earlier version of Mac OS X, erase your disk first or choose the erase option in the Mac OS X Installer. Be sure to reinstall any software updates after reinstalling the operating system."

  • Putting a "picture frame" around an entire video

Hey there! thanks in advance for the help.
I'm attempting to put a "picture-frame" around a video that will be visible throughout the duration of the movie. Is there any way to do this in FinalCut Pro?
    Thanks!

There are some great Frames in the Motion Content. Open Motion using same settings as your FCP project and find the one you like in the Motion Library and drag it to your new Motion project.
    Size it to your tastes.
Then open Layers (cmd-4) twirl the disclosure triangle and delete the drop zone.
Now export it. When you bring it into FCP you will have a frame you can place over any video and the video will show inside the frame.
    Good luck

I had completed my iDVD project, a Wedding Slideshow with pictures and music, and burned it on a disc. It worked great! Then someone messed with the original project on my computer and clicked around and put a red frame around the opening screen that has the Wedding theme with music. Now when I burn the project to make more DVDs, it burns but no longer has the opening frame. It immediately opens to the iMovie slideshow. How can I fix so I can burn the entire project with opening frames?

As Bengt suggested make a disk image of the successfully burned DVD using Disk Utility. Then you can burn copies any time you need one.
In the future once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
You can then burn it to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

In the Project Bin, right click on the File and create a New Sequence from Clip.

  • Frame around screen broke

I have a Pavilion dv7 laptop which has a warrenty that ran out about 6 months ago. It fell about 3-5 feet onto a wood floor and the backside of one of the hinges popped off. I thought nothing of it, I considered it just a cosmetic flaw and nothing to worry about. But now the frame around the screen is popping open/outwards and i dont want to close the laptop because Im afraid I'll be forcing it and I'll break it even more.
So my question is what can I do about the hinge/frame of the screen breaking? Does HP offer any sort of repairs? I mean it's fairly annoying that this is all because the plastic back of the hinge somehow popped out from a fall (it didnt break it just popped off/out
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Laptops are not made to sustain a 3 to 5 foot drop onto a hard surface. You are lucky it still works at all. Is the hinge still OK? Does it work smoothly or bind up? I frankly would need to see a picture to tell you exactly which parts you may need but all the metal and plastic parts are available and can be replaced.
The hinges are here, but there are dozens more like this set on eBay for sale:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-PAVILION-DV7-LEFT-AND-RIGHT-SCREEN-HINGES-/261124571950?pt=US_Laptop_Scre...

This part would be available in your specific color.
    Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
This repair is way easier than a motherboard replacement and would be doable by anyone with modest screwdriver skills. HP would charge you an arm and a leg....a couple hundred dollars at least if they would even do it. Same with Geek Squad. Post back if you need any more help.

  • Odd blue frames around rollovers in Firefox

I get blue frames around rollover graphics in Firefox, but
not IE or Netscape usually after they have been clicked. Some stay,
others disappear. Any ideas what is causing this? All are jpgs and
look to be lining up correctly.

I know of a css correction that may help, though usually I
see the same in IE so I'm not sure if this is the solution for you.
Try adding this to your css:
    img{
    border:none;
    a{
    outline-style:none;
The browsers add default outlines / borders. If you are
seeing this only after the images are clicked, you might want to
look into the css visited pseudo classes if you have set them for
    the site.
let us know if this does not solve your issue so someone can

I'm experiencing the same problems with my flash buttons. As
you hover over them initially, a gray border surrounds them and an
alt tag pops up that says "click here to activate this control."
This confuses some of the visitors, becuase they perceive this as
if the buttons do not work. I suspect it may be a browser specific
problem...are there any quick fixes for this? Thanks for the help.
