Small car appears in nokia 1100

Hi,
I have a Nokia 1100 which has developed a fault with all sounds. A picture of a small car appears sometime on the main screen and when it appears I have no sound on incoming calls, keypad tones and msg's and I can't make a call. I have reset factory settings but the picture is still coming up and I still have no sound. Please tell me how to solve this problem.

Hi, that problem really gave me headache from yesterday until today afternoon when i read the suggestion of this problem from one of  the fellow in this site. I followed the suggestion and just these past 20mins my phone Nokia 1100 is once again with sound. That witch symbol of a small car has finally disappeared & all sounds are back again.

  • I've forgot my Nokia 1100 security code... any way...

I don't remember what code i put in..? Now it as askin me them only it came to my mind... but i still don't know what code did i put... I want to reset it .. is there any EASy way...??

sanrocker, ask your Nokia Care Centre! There is a bigger problem as they are going to charge for this service. Therefore, everyone with a Nokia 1100 – who goes that path – should be the long time owner. Anyway, because of all this, I recommend to go for a Nokia 1280 or a Nokia 103. Both are cheaper than a repair.

  • THe BEST phone I ever had....Nokia 1100 - Nokia, p...

I have just had to pay SILLY money for a Nokia 1100 - the BEST phone I ever had.  PLEASE, Nokia, re-release this excellent phone....for me, what's done is done, but, please make this phone available for others...I cannot reccomend the Nokia 1100 HIGHLY ENOUGH.  The fact that people are now sheling out £££ speaks vulumes....
Here is my Amazon review for this EXCELLENT phone....
"I am someone who likes things exactly so. For a lot of things, basic doesn't do it for me.
For example, I won't use anything but the highly customisable Firefox (with Adblock Plus, Noscript, Stylish and Social Fixer add-ons), to get the web just the way I want.
You know what? As far as mobiles go, this IS just the way I want already.
    Here are the reasons...
    * Simple and easy to use
    * Old style monochrome viewer, with a backlight, which means that, unlike basically every other phone on the market, whatever the time of day...indoors, outdoors, day, night, the display is always - ALWAYS easy to read.
    * It has a 'Loud' profile. As someone who is slightly hard of hearing, this means that I absolutely always hear when someone rings me or texts me.
    * Unlike a lot of other phones, the alarm clock is loud enough to actualy wake me up.
    * Rounded keys...meaning that I don't struggle to type someone's number.
    * Durable. I have had this model for over 5 years, in that time, it's been on the roof of a car that's driven off, falen on concrete from 10 foot, been with me when I've fallen over drunk countless times, and who knows what else...and it still works perfectly.
    * Long battery life. I only have to charge it once every 12-14 days.
    * It's basic, so won't get nicked. It's fallen out of my pocket in pubs, clubs and at a party, and I've always had it back.
Three times, I have 'upgraded' when I've been flush, and three times, I've come back to my trusty Nokia 1100.
I cannot rate this phone highly enough. Shame on Nokia for discontinuing it..."

As far as what people want from phones nowadays is concerned...I accept that, but, there are plenty f us out there who want a phone to be - A PHONE - it's not rocket science. I spand ages online - but, through my PC - where I can see hings properly, and with Firefox add-ons, Adblock Plus and Noscript, I'm safer than safe, and don't get to see any capitalist rubbish. Also, the fact that prices for the Nokia 1100 are rising, and rising rapidly...that, to me, suggests something...myself, I've bought a second one just as a backup...my first one lasted me well over a decade before I lost it...so, I reckon these wil last me well into my life...

Are there apps on your phone right now?
I think one of your apps is causing this.
The only way to find out is to delete them all and then add them one by one to see what app maybe causing this.
Especially if you've gone thru 3 iphones already.
When you restored as new - did you sync back your stuff - apps/music or did you restore from backup?

  • I have noticed while using pen tool that I have to wait before the small square appears.

I have noticed while using pen tool that I have to wait before the small square appears. Tenth of a second, but this is disturbing on a daily basis. Is there any solution?

It seems that in your version of InDesign, the image preview is grayed out while you are editing the picture frame with the pen tool. Not the case with my version of CS5 for macintosh.
But I think this is a bad way to work. If you want the path only to affect text wrap, then edit the text wrap path. This is more versatile than editing the frame because you can have text appear over part of the image visible below text. This of a bird in flight in a light sky. The text wrap can surround the bird so text can appear in the sky. Your method does not permit this.
If you are editing the frame’s path because you also want to crop the image, then you’d be better off doing that in Photoshop by adding either a clipping path in the Paths panel or a mask in the Layers panel. If it’s an Illustrator file then add a clipping mask.
I find InDesign’s pen tool and general path editing to be significantly inferior to Illustrator’s. If I need to have an editable path in InDesign that I would draw much more easily in Illustrator, then I do that and copy the path back. It comes in as a simple unassigned frame, which I can then convert to a picture frame or a text frame and copy/paste the contents into the new frame. That may suit you if the above suggestions are inappropriate.

  • I have an issue where coloured dots (small squares) appear on my screen and it gets to the point where the entire screen freezes although the mouse still moves but nothing works and I need to turn the computer off at the switch. Any ideas?

Reset the SMC and PRAM, if the issue continues then you likely have a failing GPU (hardware) that requires repair. To be sure take it in and have it professionally assessed.

    Hi Everybody,
I am looking for an AddOn for a small Car and Life Insurance company.
I am interested in policy management
Do you know if there is any in the market?

    Hi,
You need to search SAP Business One Partner Solutions (Add-ons) forum and posted it there if you find none.
    Thanks,

Just installed adobe iplayer for the umpteeth time.
Then decided to have a software update immediately on my mac.
Then a small screen appeared afterwards stating maleware virus removed.
What do I do now? Was not aware that I had a virus in the first place.

That latest update is a removal tool for the Flashback trojan.
One of the ways the earlier versions of that trojan were distributed was through fake Adobe Flash downloaders.
Why are you repeatedly installing Adobe Flash Player? (not iPlayer - that's a BBC thing.)
The only place from which to get the Flash Player plug-in is directly from Adobe themselves - Never Trust a Pop Up that says you have a missing plugin!
Also be aware that the Flash Player is not a standalone player; it's a plug-in which installs in the Library and is available for all the browsers to use.
As for what you do now?
Nothing for the moment - you should be clear.
But to be on the safe side, go to the Prefences for each of your browsers and disable Java (not JavaScript - that's a whole different animal). As Java is the vector used by the most recent versions, that should ensure you don't get reinfected.

  • Cannot get messages off my old Nokia 1100

I discovered the other day I still have messages on my old Nokia 1100 phone. At first I thought ok, just put in a sim and copy them across. But the 1100 doesn't have this option. Since this handset is locked, I can't put in a sim and forward them either. It's odd the phone has internal memory but won't let you copy/move or do anything with the messages.
I've looked online for a data cable for the 1100. Maybe if I connect it to a computer I can extract or copy them then? I want to get these messages on my new phone with all the original details (dates, numbers etc.) intact. My googling so far for a data cable only brings up other nokia cables where the seller has just added the 1100 model number, but it clearly isn't the right cable for this phone.
Hoping dearly someone knows what to do.

He is referring to software that Nokia provides to Nokia service points for the maintenance of the phones, but this is only used for reflashing phone software, they do not have the means to backup or transfer data with this software. In any case, the service points will not normally have anything to do with customer's data.
Unfortunately, a phone as basic and old as this has no means of transferring messages out, the phone has no hardware capable of facilitating this - the phone comes from an era when phones were simple devices, and the SMS system was never intended to keep permanent records. When your phone was made, only a tiny minority of very expensive mobile phone models had any PC connectivity.
It is regrettable, but you'd probably need to admit defeat on this one...
Thanks for the informative reply. I've just come across two cables that might work in conjunction with 3rd party software.
    The first one is here:
    http://www.polishgsm.com/en/data-cable-nokia-1100-2300-2600-6030-p307
and there's a usb version here:
    http://www.polishgsm.com/en/nokia-1100-2300-2600-6030-usb-cable-p355
The flat end of both cables sits in the battery space of the phone.
Now for the software, I found one called MobiFX found here:
    http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/products.php?id=55
Another link on this website shows:
    http://www.logomanager.co.uk/support-center/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&root=0&id=29
Many phones in Nokia's 11xx and 2xxx range contain a reduced feature set in the firmware, so functions such as the gallery, phonebook and SMS management may not be available from the PC.  For this reason we released MobiFX, specially designed for these phones (and others!)
With the following phones (and their related models), MobiFX should be used and not MobiMB:
     Nokia 1100
     Nokia 1110
     Nokia 1200
     Nokia 1600
     Nokia 1650
     Nokia 2300
     Nokia 2310
     Nokia 2600
For information on MobiFX, please visit the MobiFX page: http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/products.php?id=55
Note: most of these phones use a CA-45 (FBUS) cable.
I'm not ready to give up just yet. It looks like these cables will enable a connection to a computer, and then I can do things like change logos etc., hopefully unlock and the most important one, copy sms messages off the phone. If I'm able to copy then off, then I can copy them back onto another phone. Then from there I can copy/move to a sim card etc.

  • Too small free ram on nokia e72

i got too small free ram on my nokia e72 (about 30 mb free ram), i can't make a full multy tasking on my e72 device,.. Anybody have same trouble..??? Let's nokia solving it in new firmware

    Hi agus_ependi,
Welcome to the Nokia discussion boards!
It may be so that you are running out of memory on the phone memory because you may have installed applications and saved media onto this drive. Try saving and installing these onto the mass memory or memory card because this will free up vital phone memory that your E72 needs.
Let us know how you get on.

  • The number 0003 within a small square appears in some texts. How to get rid of it?

I am building a web site and when I preview it with Firefox, a small square with the number 0003 in it appears here and there within some of my text. This peculiar icon does not show up with Chrome nor Safari.

I don't think that there are many code pages that have a character assigned to 0x003, so I'm not sure which character you should see. Other browsers may suppress that character, so you do not see it, but Firefox shows the hex code in a little square box in such a case to allow you to look up the character in a table.

  • Box too small to write in NOKIA 5300

    I have a Nokia 5300Xpress Music.
I periodically check my email, so using Tzones browser thinger, I go to AOL.com and get to my inbox. I read an email, and I try to reply. The page either comes up as "response unknown"..or the box to write in is WAYYY too small and I can't see anything I'm writing.
How can I fix this? Or is there any other way to get to my emails, be able to read them and reply, from my phone?
    Thanks!

It probably the browser which is having difficulty displaying the page.
Try installing this browser instead, it's more advanced than nokia's own.
