Small flecks are appearing on my screen. Why?
After having my Mac for about 3 weeks, I now have small white flecks appearing on my screen. They become more numerous the longer I am on, and then go away when I restart the computer. They quickly return upon use.
Sounds like you might have a problem with the graphics card. Contact Apple to ask for assistance while your Mac is still
under warranty.

Recent Apple TV update my Apps and wording are going off the screen, why is that?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
1. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
3. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
4. Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
5. Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
Changing area of pixelation on screen - why?
OK, pixelation may not be the right term. But anyway, there are changing places on the screen where there's a chunk that is like an extremely low resolution, etc. I'm attaching a partial screenshot so you can see what I mean.
When I scroll or move, the area changes - can be even on the main "desktop" behind an open window, or on the top apple menu bar (where the apple is on the left, and the time on the right). When I do something that sends a new image signal to the screen, it stops.
Does anyone know what is going on?? Any idea what's causing it? I'm out of warranty. No Apple store near, but do have an authorized reseller/repair nearby.1680 x 1050 on a 55" TV? - Thats why!
Tv's that size are 1080p which means the resolution should be 1920 x 1080, but your fonts will get slightly smaller. (but your movies will look even better!)
A good compromise would be to set your resolution to 1280 x 720 - You will still get HD quality, but your fonts will be "bigger" allowing you do use your computer from many feet away and still being able to see what you are doing.
If you are using Snow Leopard, I believe there is an option at the top that will say "720p" or, if that does not appear, just manually select 1280 x 720. -

Small white square appearing on screen
Yesterday I was looking at my iPhoto pictures and every picture had 2 small white squares appear on the screen which I tried to edit. Only to find this morning I now have one white square appearing on the Mac book pro screen. I cannot get rid of it.
Please can anyone advise me how to remove it and what is causing it?

Carolall makes perfect sense... except I cannot for the life of me find any reference in Apple docs to the tick mark box as being an on screen indicator of display mode - you may have indeed found an anomaly though - look at the similarity to the tick boxes in this image from > Frequently asked questions about using a Retina display - Apple Support

Why are some jpg images scrambled when they appear in my screen saver? The same images look fine in Preview and Finder. Some images appear scrambled in the screen saver 'preview' window and the actual screen saver. Other jpg images look fine.
The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Small Fleck under Screen (black part)
I got my iPhone 4 Thursday.
It has only been out my house twice, both times in a soft sunglasses bag.
Today I notice a small fleck that I at first thought was dust on the front glass, right next to the earpiece. It is actually a small silverish fleck of something under the glass about half inch to the right of the ear piece.
Phone is perfect otherwise, so I can deal with whatever this is. I am just wondering if it is dust though, I had thought the new screen would not allow dust under it, especially not on the black portion. If it is not dust, why did it just appear today? (trust me I would have noticed it before)
Update: Upon further study, it almost looks like a small piece of metal. Just a speck in size.

I noticed that this was much more noticeable when the screen was ON not when the phone was sleeping.
Soo, I went into a dimly room and played a movie, and figured out the speck is actually a pinhole size hole in the black coating on the back of the glass. When the screen is ON I am actually seeing light peeking out of the little hole!
I will try to update with a pic, I will def be taking this to the Apple Store now, as I watch a lot of video on this thing at night. Also, this proves it was not there prior to today: I watched a movie on it in bed last night, would have def seen if there. -
Been using an Avastor HDX-800 for storage and backup, also a SUPERDISK for smaller stuff; recently the SUPERDISK does not appear on the screen, and the light blinks while you hear it spin, also the Avastor has started to have the same problem, both USB conncected, both worked well before, but both now spinning, blinking, and not showing up on the screen as before,
Interestingly they both appear in the System Profiler, but just not working the same as before
I have tried other USB ports, but the same responce,yes I did reset the PRAM, but no benefit, still the same problem

It doesn't seem to be affecting anything and I can't seem to find anyone else on the web who has the same issues, the only thing I'm hazarding a guess at is that it is something to do with Open GL, as its in the same colour/font + drop shadow as the open GL font is. Beyond that I'm stumped.
Anyone any ideas?There's a weird glitch that causes some script panels to appear at the minimum size (which looks an awful lot like an exclamation point).
Scripts like BG Renderer need to be installed in the ScriptUI Panels folder and run from the Window menu as described here: http://aescripts.com/faq/how-to-install-and-run-scripts/
Once it's installed and run this way, you should avoid the issue you are experiencing. -
I got my ipad2 replaced yesterday. And this new ipad started giving me problem by crashing aps. Then I restored the ipad twice but the problem was still there. I called apple and they fixed it by doing Reset All Settings. But now I have this weird problem. When I open Mail the screen flickers random blue and gray appeared on the screen. I took a video too. Will that happen again? Is it hardware problem? This ipad2 32GB was replaced yesterday and I think it is refurbished. Are replace product refurbished?
There is no way for anyone here to know if your replacement iPad is a refurbished unit. Per Apple's replacement policy, replacements can be refurbished units. If you feel the unit is not working correctly, take it back, let them check it out and if found defective, they will replace that unit.

I have not had any issue with Itunes on my PC until very recently. Every now and then my Itunes library appears on my screen? I have not clicked the itunes icon beforehand nor plugged in my Ipod Touch? Why does this happen please as it is driving me crazy!.

Just installed mountain Lion. Viewing a pdf sent to me using preview and some colors are appearing BLACK, however when I view the same PDF in Acrobat they are perfect and what they are suppose to be. WHY would PREVIEW showing a different color?
Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS). -
