Small NAT table on EA3500
i was thinking about buying EA3500 but it has only 64MB ram + it support only 1024 Maximum Simultaneous Connections ( it that joke from linksys or what ) and only 224 Total Simultaneous Throughput
so 1 or 2 torrent and the Nat table will be filled
+ linksys killed 3rd party firmware by using marvel SoC
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/bar/77-max-simul-conn
LOL the funny thing the X2000 getway support 34,925 Maximum Simultaneous Connections and its in the same price range or less and the EA2700 supprot 34,925 Maximum Simultaneous Connections too and its price about half of EA3500 O_o

Hello,
I have an RV082 10/100 8-Port VPN Router and have configured the NAT table to allow for remote users, however I've run into an issue. It seems like there is a limited number of entries that you can put in the table,10, and I need to configure about 5 more IPs.
Does anyone know a way to expand the NAT table, or alternatively recommend a different router. I would also be willing to add another router to the network, but I have little experience doing that.
Thank you.Lisa Larson wrote:Hello, I have an RV082 10/100 8-Port VPN Router and have configured the NAT table to allow for remote users, however I've run into an issue. It seems like there is a limited number of entries that you can put in the table,10, and I need to configure about 5 more IPs.

I have a strange issue with a Bordermanager server. It is 3.9SP1 on a NW
6.5sp7 server. After the server has been running it stops passing traffic to
the Internet. I checked the NAT table and it has 5000 entries (the max I
believe) The entries are old, so it looks like it is not refreshing the
table.
If I disable NAT on the public interafce, then enable it things start moving
again.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
JimWe actually don't use BorderManager for forward proxy. I do use reverse
proxy a lot. We use stand alone proxy servers so we can deploy them to
locations to small to justify a BM server.
As for Pathces:
I have TCP681K, wsock60, and nwlib6L installed. I don't have the security
system patch installed. The HP support pack has newer drivers than the
NW65SP7. I was using the SP7 drivers, and the tech I spoke with at Novell
suggested if a newer version was aviaiable ffrom HP I should try it. So I
went from bx2.lan version 3.41 to version 3.70. HP claims it is for NW65SP7.
Gonzalo,
Thanks for the info, the 10.11.11.7 entry is just one of many. The machine
is actuall off, so no connection. I have the new NAT.NLM installed, but it
is dated 8/08/2008? I could not find a newer one on Novell's site.
Since our office is closed it is hard to really test since we have almost no
traffic right now.
Thanks for your input!!!

Initial load of small target tables via flashback query?
A simple question.
Scenario: I’m currently building a near real time warehouse, streaming some basic facts and dimension tables between two databases. I’m considering building a simple package to "reset" or reinitialize the dimensions an all-round fix for variety of problem scenarios (since they are really small, like 15 000 rows each). The first time I loaded the target tables I utilized data pump with good success, however since streams transforms data on the way a complete reload is somewhat more complex.
Considered solution: Ill just write a nice flashback query via db-link fetching data from a specific (recent) SCN and then I reinitialize the table on that SCN in streams...
Is this a good idea? Or is there something obvious like a green and yellow elephant in the gift shop that I overlooked? Why I’m at all worried is because in the manuals this solution is not mention among the supported ways to do the initial load of a target table and I’m thinking there is a reason for this?I have a series of streams with some tranformations feeding rather small dimensional tables, I want to make this solution easy to manage even when operations encounter difficult replication issues, so Im developing a PL/SQL package that will:
1) Stop all streams
2) Clear all errors
3) Truncate target tables
4) Reload them including transformation (using a SELECT AS OF "ANY RECENT SCN" from target to source over dblink)
5) Using this random recent SCN I will re-instantiate the tables
6) Start all streams
As you see datapump even if it works is rather difficult to utilize when you tranform data from A to B, using AS OF I not only get a constant snapshot from the source, I also get the exact SCN for it.
What do you think? Can I safely use SELECT AS OF SCN instead of datapump with SCN and still get a consisten sollution?
For the bigger FACT tables im thinking about using the same SELECT AS OF SCN but there with particular recent paritions as targets only and thus not having to reload the whole table.
Anyways this package would ensure operations that they can recover from any kind of disaster or incomplete recovery on both source and target databases, and just re-instantiate the warehouse within minutes. -
Creating small size table calendar on iPhoto 9
How can I create a small size table calendar (e.g 20x20 cm) on iPhoto (not the built-in wall calendar)?
Thank you
DucWelcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your printer support 20 x 20 cm borderless printing? If so the do Print->PDF->Save PDF to iPhoto. This will create a jpg of each page of the calendar and save it to a new album in iPhoto. Then print each page to 20x20 stock with the following print settings: Paper size: 20x20 border; Print size: Borderless.
If your printer doesn't support that size borderless and you don't want a border around each page then try Old Toad's Tutorial #8 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card. This requires an image editor that supports layers. -
I was wondering if someone could explain the NAT table to me in this article LINK About NAT table size. I have a Rev E router. My other post is about a PSN network error and Im wondering what the heck 30,000 means? 30,000 connections, 30,000 KB's? Dont get NAT at all except a thought it might be interfering with me being able to get my 12GB download done from PSN.
How many connections does this router allow? Does a 12GB file from PSN use a lot of connections? I had bittorrent on my computer a while back and never had a problem with it. It is no longer on my computer but if the NAT is coming into play, why would it effect PSN and not bit torrent.
Thanks

Who knows what the NAT table size is on the latest Airport Extreme n? That is How many connections can it handle?
The maximum number of simultaneous wireless clients is 50.
The maximum number of total clients (Ethernet + wireless) is presumably 254 but Apple has never published a number.
I think that you will experience bandwidth issues before you get anywhere near either of those numbers. -
Cannot paste small Excel table into pdf
I have been pasting a small Excel table (seven rows x five columns) onto pdfs in both Acrobat 9 and X Pro. Today, the paste won't execute. It's actually a small graphic in Excel with text boxes that allow revision. It's always worked until today. Some 2013 upgrade occurred at the office today. No one here has a clue re why the paste won't execute. I've tried copying the same graphic from PowerPoint into the pdf; no dice.
I've never set up the graphic as a stamp; it's a trial exhibit label that has to be a certain color and have revisable text fields.
I've checked the security of the pdfs I've created today; those settings are wide open and no different from the security settings for the pdfs in which the paste would execute.
Open to all suggestions.
Thanks.[discussion moved to PDF Forms forum]

dears,
how can i export nat table to Excel or Access file
i need to export tha table to any thing can save tha table entries :)
ThanksMustafa,
I do not believe there is an immediately ready tool to do this. However, if you have a Linux machine anywhere nearby, you could do something similar to this:
Using any familiar terminal, capture the output of the show ip nat tran into a text file (use terminal length 0 to allow the router to list all NAT entries in a single pass without paginating the output). Delete the first line with the column headings and leave only the NAT entries in the file. Transfer the file to the Linux machine.
Assuming the file is called nat.txt, issue the following command on the Linux machine:
sed -r s/" "+/,/g nat.txt > nat.csv
This command will collapse all successive whitespaces in a line into a single comma character. As a result, the listing of NAT entries will be processed into a CSV file called nat.csv. This CSV file should then be transferred back to any machine that has Excel or LibreOffice capable of importing CSV files. Remember, you have deleted the first line with column headings so the file will lack this description but you can always add it later in the Excel, and the order of fields is Protocol, InsideGlobal, InsideLocal, OutsideLocal, OutsideGlobal.
I hope this helps although it is a little "hackish"...

Help understaning NAT table for SIP
Hi Folks,
I've been battling SIP and NAT for nearly 3 months now I've got to the point where I think I may well have found a bug in IOS. Incoming calls are not getting to my CME, outbound calls are fine. The sip-ua is registered fine.
2611xm-1#show sip-ua register status
Line peer expires(sec) registered
================================ ========== ============ ==========
01xxxxx8882 -1 86 yes
Without a static route, the NAT translation table on the 877 that connects to the internet looks like this:
877va-1#show ip nat translations
Pro Inside global Inside local Outside local Outside global
udp 82.70.85.118:1024 192.168.1.254:5060 212.23.7.228:5060 212.23.7.228:5060
No incoming calls come through, but looking at the table, I understand why as the ITSP is routing calls to ports 5060, not 1024.
With this static route:
ip nat inside source static udp 192.168.1.254 5060 82.70.85.118 5060 extendable
The table looks like this:
877va-1#show ip nat translations
Pro Inside global Inside local Outside local Outside global
udp 82.70.85.118:5060 192.168.1.254:5060 212.23.7.228:5060 212.23.7.228:5060
udp 82.70.85.118:5060 192.168.1.254:5060 --- ---
Incoming calls come through, which makes sense as the port is now open!
If I delete the static route, clear the translation table and re-register the sip-ua the table looks like this:
877va-1#show ip nat translations
Pro Inside global Inside local Outside local Outside global
udp 82.70.85.118:5060 192.168.1.254:5060 212.23.7.228:5060 212.23.7.228:5060
Calls come through for around 12 hours (probably until something times out and the sip-ua re-registers to the first scenario on port 1024).
Why is the 877 setting up the translation to port 1024 - what can I do to fix this?
My 877 settings are:
no ip nat service sip udp port 5060
ip nat inside source list 1 interface Dialer1 overload
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Dialer1
ip route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.254
My CME SIP settings are:

IOS is 15.3(3)M, but I've updated this today from an ealier version hoping to fix the problem.
If I do the following:
877va-1#show ip nat translations | include 5060
udp 82.70.85.118:1029 192.168.1.254:5060 212.23.7.228:5060 212.23.7.228:5060
877va-1#clear ip nat trans
877va-1#clear ip nat translation *
877va-1#clear ip nat statistics
Then on the CME box, re-register the sip-ua.
877va-1#show ip nat translations | include 5060
udp 82.70.85.118:1030 192.168.1.254:5060 212.23.7.228:5060 212.23.7.228:5060
It takes the next port. Its never using 5060 in the first place from what I can tell -
Static and small dimension table should I use lookup
Hi Gurus,
I am creating interface to load my fact table.
Generally for different codes to replace with surrogate keys I use dimension table for look-up in interface.
but I have question if dimension table is very small and has only static values like
Sur_key, Code, Description.
1, C, Create
2 , R, Redeem
in such case if in interface for fact table, I just write expression "if source_table.column=C then 1 else 2".
Please advice if this is better way or not.
Thanks in advance.I agree - it is much better practice to use lookups to populate surrogate keys. Using hard-coded values in code requires the developer to always remember that dependency on dimensional data and can cause unexpected results down the line if the keys are updated or are inconsistent across environments.

OBIEE bypasses smaller aggregate table and queries largest aggregate table
Hello,
Currently we are experiencing something strange regarding queries that are generated.
Scenario:
We have 1 detail table and 3 aggregate tables in the RPD. For this scenario I will only refer to 2 of the Aggregates.
Aggregate 1 (1 million rows):
Contains data - Division, Sales Rep, Month, Sales
Aggregate 2 (13 milliion rows):
Contains data - Division, Product, Month, Sales
Both tables are set at the appropriate dimension levels in the Business Model. Row counts have been updated in the physical layer in the RPD.
When we create an answers query that contains Division, Month and Sales, one would think that OBIEE would query the smaller and faster of the two tables. However, obiee wants to query the table with 13 million records completely bypassing the smaller table. If we make the larger aggregate inactive, then OBIEE queries the smaller table. We can't figure out why OBIEE wants to immediately go to the larger table.
Has anyone experienced something such as this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edited by: gwb on Aug 19, 2009 7:45 AMHave you try to change the sort order of the logical table source in your logical table ?

Set the Aggregate 1 first.

I have NAT set up for both source and destination translation on 2610 router.
When the devices configured for NAT start communicating, several dynamic NAT entries are created. Recently, I needed to change an IP address for DR testing (192.168.21.5 --> 192.168.21.158). However, I was unable to remove the entry using the 'no' command before the NAT statement. I tried using the 'clear ip nat outside' statement , but I received output errors. I finally had to clear the entire dynamic NAT translation table (clear ip nat trans *). Once cleared, I could remove the static NAT statement for 192.168.21.5 using the 'no' command.
Is there a way for me to just clear that specific IP addresses NAT translation entries. I don't want to affect the other static IP translations taking place (192.168.12.200).
Check out the attached file, it contains the config, ver, and error output when I try to make NAT statement changes.
As always, thanks for your help.
-MikeHi Mike,
I believe the following would have done the trick in your case (watch for wrap):
clear ip nat translation inside 192.168.80.21 192.168.251.1 outside 172.26.104.126 192.168.21.5
clear ip nat translation inside 192.168.80.22 172.26.201.4 outside 172.26.104.126 192.168.21.5
The above syntax lets you specify the entire translation entry so that the IOS knows exactly what to clear.
Pls rate the post if it helps.

Is iPod shuffle is compatible with small or table speakers or external speakers?
Is iPod shuffle is compatible with external speakers?
Yes, you can connect POWERED external speakers like you connect your headphones. The speaker system does need to be self-powered (has its own power supply), like the type made for connecting to your computer's audio output. And not the type of speakers that connect to a living room stereo system.
NOTE: Unlike other "big" iPods (and the 1st gen shuffle), you cannot charge the (2nd-4th gen) shuffle's battery and play the shuffle at the same time. -
I want to set up my router for Peer To Peer connection.
I recently started playing a new game that requires Peer to Peer connection, and I lag a lot when I log in, so I was wonder what options I would have to check, How to enable/disable options to optimize my gaming connection.
What kind of router I have is MI424-WR Rev. E Actiontec. Or something along that line.. I was researching what to do and it had a lot to do with DMZ, Ports, and firewall. But any help would be appreciated.
Im off for tonight so I wont be able to check the post until like 9 hours from now. Goodnight
Oh if you need to know what game it is for some odd reason its Dungeon Fighters Online, or http://dungeonfighter.nexon.net/
I like arcade style games.
Oh and my brother connects to this router to and i want him to keep internet so none of the options can interfear with his internet connection.I took a quick look at the www site for the game, but did not see anything definite from the vendor on what port(s) the game uses.
You would need to set up you gaming machine with a Static TCP/IP Address and configure the Verizon Router with Port Forwarding of the ports used by the game. I would ONLY set it up in the DMZ if all else fails.
Note that the Verizon Router has a small NAT Table which may effect your ability to play a P2P game for extended periods of time.
