Small screen when running software program

I am trying to load a software program which says is compatible with MAC to create an invitation (Printstation3).
It's coming up as a really small screen. When I try to click on something its almost like the screen resolution is out as I when I hover the cursor in certain sections of the black part of the screen I can.  Except I can't tell what I'm actually pressing.
This is kind of hard to explain...
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix?????

Will not show up in safe mode, will not show when started from Windows 7 DVD.
I suspect the Mac update wiped out my PC video drivers but can not think of a way to re-install?
Can see the PC volume from Mac side with files.
I've looked at all the online solutions so far and have tried most of them without success. Please help!

    EDIT: RESOLVED
For anyone else who finds their way here like I did, this link did it for me: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/527599/windows-8-issues-solved-please-r ead-if-you-39-re-having-black-screen-and-or-flickering-/
Specifically, the posts by Dunsany and valkyr did the trick.  I booted in safe mode, uninstalled and deleted the Nvidia driver, disabled automatic driver installation, and restarted normally.  I then manually downloaded and installed the previous Nvidia driver for my graphics card (which at the time of this writing was 335.23, rather than the latest which was 337.88), and everything is now bueno!
Two hiccoughs along the way: First, when I tried to uninstall the Nvidia driver the first time, when I restarted I got the login screen (which was a good sign), but it quickly went black again.  I powered down, restarted in safe mode again, and repeated the uninstallation process, and it worked the second time.  Second, when I started the manual install of the 335.23 driver, the computer played a sound similar to the one for disconnecting a USB device, and the screen went black.  I'd seen a lot about trying to increase the brightness (though it hadn't worked up to this point; but if you haven't tried it yet, might as well); I tried it, and it worked! So far I'm back up and running. [/fingers crossed]
    Hope this helps someone else!

  • Will i have to repurchase games i bought on my iphone for my ipad as they are in a smaller screen when i play them

Will i have to repurchase games i bought on my iphone for my ipad as they are in a smaller screen when i play them.
also isnt game center supposed to save my progress in a game as it is making me begin the games all over again.

    Not necessarily.
Some games are "universal", meaning they are for the iPad and iPhone natively.
These are denoted by a "+" on the price/purchase button.
iPhone games will work on the iPad, the screen can be doubled in size.
The graphics aren't as nice looking and text tends to be fuzzy.
No, game center is about badges and finding opponents for games.
Your game progress is saved when you sync with iTunes.

  • Error when running software on computers w/o GPIB interface card

I'm writing some simple GPIB I/O software using the VISA libraries and I'm getting an error when I run the program on a computer that doesn't have a GPIB card. The error is "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK..." The program runs and works fine on the machine that is hooked up to GPIB devices, but I would like to be able to use my laptop for development. I've installed version 2.3 of NI-488.2, so all the required dll libraries are there.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

Unless you're using all IVI drivers, there is no built in simulation mode. As long as you make calls to VISA that expect a GPIB board, you'll get errors. Even if you had a gpib board, if you write your code correctly, you would also get errors when the board doesn't find an instrument to write to or read from. The only solution is for you to write your own simulation code. Encapsultate your write/read functions with case statements that skip the driver calls and return simulated data.

  • PowerMac faster than intel Mac when running video programs?

Hello everyone! Having a question now so wonder if any of you have the same experience?
Recently i have many video works to do. I have a powerbook, which is the lasted 17inch powerbook and an intel imac (early 2008, 2.66GHz). I run the same version of finalcut pro and compressor. But thing become very strange, which is that when i run compressor to make final video files, my powerbook is much faster (about 2 times faster) than intel iMac. When i run XDCAM program to import video clips to finalcut from Sony XDCAM blueray reader, powerbook is also much more faster than intel iMac, and which is about 10time more faster than intel iMac. So it become very strange. I list my configurations below, and any of you can help me to solve the 'problem' or explain the strange fenominal.
Maybe theres anything wrong with software configurations, any one can also help me with that?
    Thank you very much!
    Powerbook G4 17inch:
    CPU: powerpc G4 1,67GHz
    RAM: 2GB (two 1GB module)
    HDD: 120GB IDE
System: Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8
    Program: Final Cut Studio 2
    iMac 20inch Early 2008
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,66GHz
    RAM: 4GB (two 2GB module)
    HDD: Cosair 256GB SSD
System: Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (tried also on Snow Leopard)
Program: Final Cut Studio 2 (tried also Final Cut Studio 3 on friends imac with the same configuration)
    Camera:
    Sony XDCAM PDW530 Broadcast Camcorder.
    Media:
    Sony XDCAM blueray disk
    Reader:
    Sony XDCAM blueray disc drive
    Program:
XDCAM transfer for Final Cut Pro 2.12
    XDCAM browser software 1.20

Of course it depends on what you're doing and how well you know how to use available resources... the general rule for Logic is:
    >>>Fastest machine with the most RAM you can afford.<<<
That said, someone who knows what they're doing can get an amazing amount of effects and virtual instruments on an old PPC G5 computer running Logic 8.
So, while fast machines will allow more plugins/VI with less overloads... knowing what you're doing will take you further so that the difference between machines would not make a difference in the music.

  • "Error determining planning periods for calendar "  when running a program

    Hi,
When i am running a program with date range say "01/05/2011" to "30/06/2011",the program is executing successfully without any error. When i am executing the same program with date range as a) "01/05/2009" to "30/06/2011" and b)"01/05/2008" to "30/06/2011" the program is failing with error as "Error determining planning periods for calendar". Can anyone suggest me what i should do to avoid the failure of the program with above date ranges also.
    Thanks in advance,

    Dear,
Error message 61123:"Error determining planning periods for calendar &".The PPC planning calendar specified in the material master MRP 2 view for the material is  incorrectly.
The planning calendar periods are insufficiently maintained for the planning calendar used.
Check the period of planning calendar in MD26 and generate the correct period. You can avoid the problem in several ways:
Maintain the planning calendar far enough in the future (at least until beyond  the end of the planning horizon).
Also check any demand is lies beyond the validity period of planning calendar.
Reduction of the planning horizon of MRP also can control such issue, as MRP planning horizon lies in an area in which the planning calendar is no longer maintained

  • Error when running a program /RPM/FIN_PLAN_INT

when executing the program "/RPM/FIN_PLAN_INT", I'm getting an error stating as "Category ID does not exist for item.Instantiate categories first"
This error is hitting for only 4 Items in list of all 173 Item. Hence the Financial cost are not getting update for all the items when executing the program. The DB update failed.
I checked the financial Category IDs and its maintained properly and working fine with other Items. Why this is happening for only the 4 items? Am I missing something in config?
Please experts provide me some valuable suggesions.

    Hi;
When you define and edit the mapping between the project management role function ID and the financial planning view, category, or group. You can also decide on whether the cost or revenue rate is to be considered for the financial information calculation.
    1. Execute report /RPM/PLAN_INT_PREP to create financial and capacity categories and groups for the bucket or the portfolio items based on the parameters mentioned in the selection screen.
    2. Execute report /RPM/FIN_PLAN_INT to perform the financial planning for a portfolio item for the different portfolio items based on the parameters mentioned in the selection screen.
Prerequisite: For the portfolio item, you must have executed report /RPM/PLAN_INT_PREP before.
    3. Execute report /RPM/BUCKET_ROLLUP to roll up the financial data for the different categories and groups of the portfolio items to its higher-level buckets.
    Hope this help you.
    Best Regards.

Have you installed a newer version of the NI-VISA runtime engine that will work with Windows 7?
The most recent on the NI website appears to be version 5.0.3.

  • Ti G4 PB crashes when running Software Update

I just received a Titanium PowerBook G4 800Mhz used on eBay. Has 512MB ram, 100GB Hitachi 5400rpm hardrive insalled, airport card and came freshly formatted with 10.3 installed and a CD with system patches up to 10.3.9. I reformatted the hardrive and attempted to do a clean install of 10.4 Tiger and here are my issues:
    1. After installing 10.4, attempt software update, all current updates and 10.4.3 combo update, experience kernel panic in middle of update with grayed out screen and multi-language message “you need to restart your computer, hold down power button." Everytime I restart and run software update, same problem happens.
    2. Restart and go to Apple’s website and download 10.4.1 manually. Installs with no problem
    3. Download 10.4.2 from Apple’s site, experience kernel panic, have to hard restart.
    4. Download 10.4.3 via software update, computer freezes, but after a couple of hard restarts it installs somehow.
    5. With 10.4.3 installed, software update “quits unexpectedly” every time I try to run it.
    6. Boot off of Hardware Test CD, run tests, everything test okay
    7. Decided to install 10.3 Panther to see if problem is with 10.4
    8. Reformat and clean install 10.3
    9. Run software update and attempt to install all current updates up to 10.3.9, screen completely freezes during “expanding” portion of update window. Have to hard restart, same problem every time I run software update.
Well, I’m stumped. I’ve attempted everything I can think of and was up till 3am last night trying to figure this out. I’ve run Disk Warrior, reformatted and partitioned the hard drive multiple times in different ways, all with the same results. I just completely reformatted my old white iBook G3 and installed 10.4.3 with no problems, and that machine is older and not nearly as impressive as this Titanium, so it leads me to believe that there is an underlying hardware problem, or at least a firmware problem. Also, the fact that the previous owner sent the computer with 10.3 installed and a CD with individual patch updates makes me think he was aware of the problem with Software Update and wanted me to update using the CD. I don't know, I'm lost at this point. Could it be the replacement Hitachi hard drive? Bad memory? Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

    Ti PowerBook G4 800Mhz 15.2" w/DVI   Mac OS X (10.3)   512MB RAM (1slot), 100GB Hitachi 5200rpm internal drive

    Well...
It was just a bad RAM chip. The stock 512B chip in the lower slot must have been causing the kernel panics. I took it out and put a new 512MB chip in the upper slot and everything works great now. One thing though, the replacement 144pin PC133 chip I purchased wouldn't work in the lower slot, it fit fine although it wasn't as tall as the stock chip. Installed in the lower slot, the Ti Book would make three beep error sound and not start up. Can anyone tell me why it would work in the upper slot and not the lower? Your input is appreciated

  • Macsafe 85w still not enough when running Heavy program on Macbook pro 2011 Quad Core

Is there any official announcement from apple on how macsafe 85w works & design flow or diagram..??
We know the magsafe 85w is not enough to run macbook pro quad core i7 and their family.. But there must be some reason why apple only allow maximum 85w only.. rite
I run this multiple test on my Macbook Pro early 2011, 17" 2.2 Quad core i7, 8G ram, to proving that the 85W is not enough.
-Im running this test on both OSX & win 7
-the battery capacity is 20% when i running this test
-the power adapter "macsafe" is plugin when i run this test
    1) macsafe 85w turn to green to stop charging when rendering HD movie in Final Cut pro 7 in OSX ( but then it will turn to orange to charged again after you cancel the render)
    2) macsafe 85w turn to green to stop charging when playing high graphic game such "Razor F1 2010" in Win 7 ( but then it will turn to orange to charged again after you quit the game)
    3) macsafe 85w turn to green to stop charging when editing AVCHD on Sony vegas Pro 10 in Win 7 (it will turn to orange to charged again after you quit the program)
    4) when the baterry reach 100%. then I run all of 3 heavy program above.. the baterry will drain slowly until 93% then it turn to orange to charging again.
(this will happen only when you run heavy program) 85w macsafe itself also not enough to run these program.. still need little battery support..
As i know this will happen to all macbook pro since before Quad core model. You must run heavy program, then you can determin this systoms..
Lastly, I really hope that all of this symtoms are the "macsafe work design", & not the macsafe fault... & really hope this symtoms will not damage the battery because regullaly charge on & off.
Maybe This is why new macbook pro design,, you cannot take out the battery... It still need the battery support also, while plugin..
    Thanks &
    Sorry broken english..

"Maybe This is why new macbook pro design,, you cannot take out the battery... It still need the battery support also, while plugin.."
Yes — but only when you're working the machine very hard. Most of the time, 85W is ample.
"But,, we need the official announce by apple regarding this issue"
No you don't. That's how it works. What good would an announcement from Apple do you?

Ok, here's what I did using the JSE 8.1 IDE.
    1) I copied your code into a .java file named "TextShuffleGame".
It generated about half a dozon errors.
There are three classes in the program:
    TextShuffleLevel
    TextShuffleGame
    CinReader
Each of these classes is declared "public" and I got the same error message on each one:
"class ... is public, should be declared in a file name ... .java"
    so, I...
    2) tried changing them to "private".
It then said: "modifier private not allowed here".
    so, I...
    3) deleted the modifiers for these three classes and left them as just class. No errors.
The next two errors had to do with the two import statements:
    "import java.io.*;" and "import java.util.*;".
It said: "'class' or 'identifier' expected" for both. So, I...
    4) moved them to the top of the source file.
Didn't help at first. So, I...
    5) fiddle around with them a bit.
I tried "java.io;" and "java.util;" and then "java.*;" by itself. Still got errors. So, I put them back as you had them and for some mysterious reason, my editor decided they were fine. oO
This also corrected the last errors in the "CinReader" class. Here is the error-free code I now have in my "TextShuffleGame.java" file:

    import java.util.*;

  • Why does it report missing *.dll when running standalone programs on a separate PC without LabVIEW?

I wrote a LabVIEW code to control GPIB, DAQ and Serial port. Then I built an installer including runtime engine. Everything works fine at the PC with the LabVIEW. I copy this installer folder to another computer without LabVIEW. I had no problem to install the program. But after I run the program, it started to ask for nilvaiu.dll. After I copied it under C\Windows\System32\, it started to ask for nimdbgu.dll, then niorbu.dll. Then it reported "The procedure entry point_pkgModulePackageEventLog@20 could not be located in the dynamic link library NIPALU.dll"
I guess it missed some drivers. So I installed NI-488.2 for Windows on the PC. But it did not solve the issue.

    hi there
i recommend to update to DAQ 7.4. the performance is much better.
    best regards

  • Black screen when running MIDlets on a real phone (motorola V330)

    Hello.
I'm developing a simple Java ME application as a part of my senior project in college. Up until this point I've been working with emulators and everything works fine. Yesterday I tried to upload and test my application on my old phone - Motorola V330 (CLDC 1.0 MIDP 2.0).
I can upload and install MIDlets without problems. (Using unlocked application loader and a USB cable). When I try to start them, the screen goes black and stays black. If I hit the "exit" softbutton or the red power button, I can see my application for a split second before the program exits. For example if I try to run a game, I see the game screen for a split second, if I try to run a form, I see that form. That tells me that the application can start, but I dont know why I get a black screen.
I tried that with a bunch of applications, even for a simple form with "hello world" on it, the screen goes black.
I also tried some games from SUN examples and I have the same problem.
Anybody can give me any hints on how to solve the problem? Could this be the phone issue or is it some sort of security certificate issue?
I tried googling the issue and searching these boards but I cant find any concrete solutions.
PS. The phone is old and is no longer connected to the network, but it still has a sim card.

    Yeah, it's CLDC1.0 and MIDP 2.0.
I've looked at the phone again and found out that in "Java settings" menu the "backlight" option was turned off by default. Turning it on allows me to see my java apps. So the problem is solved.
When I had similar problems with my laptop (black screen, barely visible text) it took me a ridiculous amount of time to talk to technicians over the phone and try to explain to them what I'm seeing. Apparently the problem was the same - the backlight on my laptop's display was malfunctioning. I hope this info will help some of you or at least will help you googling stuff if you ever encounter the same problem.
