Smaller resolution for AMD Radeon R5

I have a Satellite C55D-B5310 with the AMD Radeon R5 Graphics adapter running Windows 8.1
The driver version is 13.352.1004.1008, which I believe is the latest.
The finest resolution (which is recommended by Toshiba) is 1366x768.
I would prefer to use a smaller resolution: 1440x900 (or smaller) since I work on spreadsheets which contain many columns and the web pages I visit often now require that I scroll more frequently.
Is there a way to obtain a screen resolution so that I can display smaller objects on my laptop screen?

Is there a way to obtain a screen resolution so that I can display smaller objects on my laptop screen?
No. The native resolution is a property of the flat-panel display.
Your AMD Radeon R5 should be able to supply a higher resolution to an external monitor attached via the RGB or HDMI port.

  • Black screen on hp dv6 after installing AMD CCC for AMD Radeon HD 5470

    Hi HP experts,
it started when i was playing on my pc and the screen went black and the laptop shut down. i'd reopen it and after the windows loading screen everything is black, i hear the welcome sound and when i swipe my finger on the biometric reader i hear also the sound announcing that the windows session has been started.
So i've started the laptop on failsafe mode and it's ok. i have disabled the intel HD graphic and i restart in normal mode, the display is ok. so i came back in failsafe mode and i enabled the intel hd graphic and i disabled the AMD Radeon HD 5470 and  also it's ok in normal mode. the problem is when i set both of them enabled i will have a black screen in normal mode.
i have formatted my hard drive, reinstalled windows 7 64bit ultimate and i've installed all the driver from HP support web page except the two graphic drivers Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver.
Is there anyway to test if the AMD graphic card is not ok? can you confirm that it is not a haedware issue?

  • IdeaCentre B320 - Windows 8 64bit drivers for AMD radeon HD 7450 card

I have upgraded my recently bought B320 all-in-one to Windows 8 and now have a problem with video card drivers for HD7450 graphics card. Default Win 8's driver (named something like Windows Radeon HD7400 series ) works just fine, but it have no OpenGL support and therefor I can not run some games like Minecraft. Catalyst drivers available from AMD website can not detect the video card (probably because it have lenovo-specific oem ids?), and on lenovo downloads only 32bit drivers are available for AMD cards.
Was anyone able to get catalyst drivers working on B320 with 64bit Windows 8?
May be there is a compatible lenovo desktop or all-in-one which already have those drivers? And will Lenovo release 64bit video drivers for B320 anytime soon?

Till a better idea comes along:
Don't know if you have tried this but first thing I'd do is go to control panel/system/device manager, find the devices, right click and ask for it to update the drivers.  If there are new ones around they should be found.
The only drivers Lenovo offers for the b320 are 32 for some reason and they may not be the best.  I had a dead card reader, downloaded their drivers, and it did no good, asked the machine to update the driver, it did and it worked.  I don't know where it found the driver but it was not lenovos download page.
Hopefully they will get some updated stuff soon.  The tv software is poor at best.

  • I cant install drivers for AMD Radeon HD 8750 M on a G500 i7-3612QM CPU@2.1Ghz Lenovo.

    Hi.
    I bought recently a Lenovo G500 i7-3612QM [email protected],
    4GB ram,
    Windows 7 Ultimate,
    Service pack 1,
    64-bit Operating System and
AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics Card.
I follwed many of the discussions for this card but without results.
I unistalled from device manager the card driver.
I unistalled all the previous ATI and AMD installations and
then I installed again avga110w7 driver.
But allways with the same message at the device manager "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Now the laptop works with Standard VGA Graphics adapter.
What can I do for make work the card?
    Why is it so difficult?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thank you.
    John.

    Hi John,
As the application is not using the GPU, I suggest you to uninstall AMD Driver under Device Manager and make sure to put a check on the prompt asking to delete driver software. Then Check under Control Panel / Programs and Features / Uninstall any Catalyst or AMD Graphics Components.
Now install the AMD driver in the computer and then check if the same is displayed in the Device Manager, below is the link to download the driver. Then add the application using the catalyst control center as displayed in the below image.

  • Driver upgrade for AMD Radeon 5770 Graphics Card

I have a 2008 Mac Pro, running OSX 10.8.5. Just installed AMD Radeon 5770 graphics card (Apple says this isn't supported; users I read said it works despite what Apple says in knowledge article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3477). When I restarted, the system said my card was a Radeon HD 5000, not 5770. AMD's web site not clear about driver upgrade (and I believe I have to do this, since I took out the old graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 that came with the Mac Pro at purchase). Didn't get a clear answer, yet, from Apple support. Anyone experience this? Does anyone know which driver to manually download from AMD's site? It's not clear, and they also suggested, talk to Apple to get driver support. Here's where I went, and found the choice not clearly mapped out for the Mac (and their autodetect software works only for XP:
    -and here: http://www.official-drivers.com/installer/?seed=ati&gclid=CJeA0M_1u7wCFVhufgod4Q MAcQ.
    Thanks.

RE: Mac Pro silver tower (2006-2012) Replacement Graphics cards
    1) Apple brand cards,
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
    3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
    1) Apple brand cards:
    • Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5. (This card has just been discontinued and is no longer available from Apple dealers. There may be some new, old stock still available at resellers)
    • Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
    • NVIDIA Quadro 4000 Fermi, about US$1200
    • NVIDIA Quadro K5000 Kepler, about US$2500
    3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
    • SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
    • EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
    • running 10.8.3 or later AND
    • don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
    • can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards".
    One more thing--
Flashed PC cards: There are a good many EFI flashed cards that offer boot screens and behave like official cards. "for more information about using and flashing non-Apple cards, please check out the various sites like Netkas (and others) that focus on and discuss what is known and available. (Not supported or endorsed by Apple.)"

    Hi:
The support site is back up and running.
Below is the link to the W7 x64 graphics driver you need for your model.
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5229456&swItemId=ob_105419_1&swEnvOid=405...
This driver installs the drivers for both the AMD and Intel GPU's.
Never install the standalone Intel HD graphics driver or allow Windows Update to install a newer Intel graphics driver, or the switchable graphics in your notebook will no longer function.

  • Windows 8.1 and graphics driver for AMD Radeon HD7670m

    Hello
Some time ago, i`ve had problem with updating my Windows8 (64-bit) to 8.1 (64-bit). The problem was with switchable graphics, only Intel HD4000 was working and i couldn`t fix it by Catalyst Control centre, by AMD support forum and by this forum as well.
I`ve seen this trouble a lot at forums, but i didn`t find the solution and reistalled my Windows 8.
Switchable graphics worked, but only this only old driver. All newones that i`ve tried to use didn`t work, or worked incorrect. That`s one question: we have only old driver (8.962.10.6000) without updates for new games, OSs, etc?
And another question is: was the problem fixed?
Because i`d like to install Windows 8.1, but i don`t want to "play" with drivers, strange solutions (like install beta driver for Windows7, from AMD website) and other. I want a working notebook (pavillion g6 2368 sr) with switchable graphics and win8.1

    Hello @hi4man ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you have concerns about upgrading your notebook to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 and losing the switchable graphics feature.
To use the switchable graphics feature you must use the drivers provided by HP on your products Drivers & Downloads page.
The drivers for your notebooks GPUs are bundled into one installation, meaning the Intel and AMD GPU drivers are in one package. This package is supported on both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and is available here: AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver.
Try installing this driver after updating to Windows 8.1 and let me know if it works.
Note that you may need to disable the updates from Windows or the HP Support Assistant to have continued switchable graphics functionality.
I look forward to your reply!

  • AMD Radeon HD 6630M vs Intel HD 3000 for driving a Thunderbolt Display

    Hi
I've searched the net and cant find the specific answers I'm looking for regarding this issue.
Which graphics option is better for the Mac mini when connected to an Apple Thunderbolt display running at 2560 x 1440 resolution:
    1) AMD Radeon HD 6630M with its 256mb GDDR5 memory
    or
    2) Intel HD 3000 with 512mb of memory ( i.e. I will upgrade the Mac mini to 8gb or RAM to get 512mb of video memory).
Now will the HD 3000 with its 512mb of system memory be better simply because it has more, or will the AMD 6630M be better because even though it has less memory it has faster GDDR5 memory as opposed to the DDR3 memory the Intel GPU will use?
I tested out the AMD 6630M in an Apple store and when I had multiple Safari windows open it struggled a bit when I used expose. It stuttered and lagged and the animation was not smooth. Would the Intel 3000 with 512mb ease this problem?
    Thanks

Dear KYL, thanks for you fast and honest response. I have to say I am really disappointed. Apple sell so few machines/hrdware choice, you would have thought that the ones they do sell could run the core function of the OS smoothly!
I am really surprised that the Intel chip outperforms the 6630 for 2D? So the 6630 must only be better for 3D?
Is there anywhere that list 2D and 3D performance of different graphics cards to get some idea?
I may try adding the 8 RAM this week and see if it helpls at all. If it does, I wonder if there is a way to force the HD3000 to use even more RAM? i.e my modifying some of the preference or extension files somewhere.
If it doesn't I'm not sure what I will do. all this is logged with Applecare, but the machine was bought by my University, so returning it will be terribly inconvenient - if it is at all possible.
Buying a 15" MBPro is a very expensive way to achieve smooth Expose! I also will have unnecessarily ordered a superdrive external, and would then need to spec the MBPro with a SSD. And get an external HD too.
I love the mini, and the speed of the i7 + SSD is incredible, but jerky OS on something one uses 8 hours a day is just not acceptable.
The purchase is already inconvenient as I have to virtualise SL server to run some old academic software that needs Rosetta (but at leat that works).
    Ho hum...
Expose has been around for 8 years or so. I'm amazed modern hardware can't work it smoothly (even on a big display)

  • AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series Driver for windows 7 x64

    Hi everybody,
    I have an
    HP Pavilion g6-2297se Notebook PC
and Iim going to  reinstalled on it Windows 7  Ultimate (64bit). Thanks to this forum I have found all the drivers that I need except the drivers for AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series.
and  I'd like to know the best order for install  driverse  on the system
    Can someone help me?

    Hi:
You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the g6t-2000 on yours.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE FILES FROM THIS MODEL
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5278...
Recommended order of installation for the first 4:
    1. Intel chipset installation utility and reboot.
    2. AMD graphics driver and reboot.  Note:  This installs the drivers for both the AMD and Intel GPU's.
    3. IDT Audio driver and reboot.
    4. Realtek ethernet driver and reboot.
Then you can install whatever else you need in any order you want.

  • AMD Radeon HD 8670M won't show in dxdiag (HP Pavilion 14)

    Hello,
    I just bought HP Pavilion 14 N037-TX
    Intel‎‎ Core‎‎ i5-4200U 1.6GHZ
    ‎4 GB DDR3 RAM
    AMD Radeon HD 8670M 2GB DDR3
The notebook already had Ubuntu (uninstalled now) and then I installed Windows 8.1 64 Bit.
I installed the necessary drivers from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=id&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5448...
However, the driver for AMD Radeon didn't work, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-126598-1&cc=id&dlc=en&lc=en...
The installer failed to install AMD Catalyst Control Center and it says "Application Install: install package failure!"
And then I took a look the installation log, it said the installer only install the OEM but not the Catalyst Control. I keep looping install-uninstall the driver but it's always gave the same result.
I already tried some driver from AMD, this one: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx
    and then this one: http://www.driverscape.com/download/amd-radeon-hd-8760
    and this one too: http://www.amd-drivers.com/download-RadeonHD8760-graphics-driver-for-Windows8-64bit.html
and now I am using this one: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download by detecting my OS and automatically install the best driver according to AMD, it has 'Mobility' on it's name.
The problem is, those drivers was succesfully installed the Radeon on Device Manager, but not in dxdiag. The dxdiag still shows that I am using the Intel HD Graphic instead the AMD Radeon 8670M. The catalyst control center won't let me see what GPU is used for power savings and high-performance mode. The dxdiag keep on showing the Intel HD Hraphic whether my notebook is plugged-in to power source or on battery, the Switchable Graphics just did not work as expected.
I already look for an answer in so many forums with similar problem, but the problem still persist.
I am sorry for my bad English, hope you guys can help me, thanks in advance.

Here install the driver from device manager (if you don't know how search it up,remember to check uninstall software driver too)

  • Horrible experience upgrading AMD Radeon drivers

    I have a 1-month old HP p7-1418 running Win8.
IE10 has never worked well on this system. (I don't use IE as my browser but am required to test things in IE for work.) For example, some pages only load as blank pages, like wordpress.org. No fiddling in IE10 fixes the problem.
In the MS TechNet support forum, it was recommended that I upgrade my GPU drivers. My original drivers were (dated July 4, 2012):
    AMD Radeon HD 7450
AMD Radeon HD 7450D + 7450 Dual Graphics
I made the HUGE mistake of running Windows Update to update the drivers. (I thought I was doing the right thing!) WU tried to install drivers dated Sept 19, 2012 and the result was that I had no display.
I could not roll back the drivers (button greyed out) and system restore also did not roll them back.
My next mistake was downloading drivers from the AMD site. (Again, I thought I was doing the right thing!):
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx
The install failed with the error, "failed to load detection engine." (I manually removed drivers and AMD/ATI software beforehand, and with the software uninstall I was also greeted by that same error.)
I managed to manually remove the Sept drivers and restore the drivers from July. However, the driver names are now slightly different:
    AMD Radeon HD 7540
    AMD Radeon HD 7540D
In an AMD forum, it was suggested that this is a "uncommon and strange config" and that I should "expect trouble again." Indeed a Google search for "AMD Radeon HD 7450D + 7450 Dual Graphics" generates ONE result. Yikes.
The end result is that I *think* I'm back to where I started, including the remaining issues with IE10.
I noticed that the HP site has a different recommended driver for my system, not the version on the AMD site, but this one: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-113963-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
    Does that seem correct?
I'm extremely uneasy about upgrading the AMD drivers since it cost me 7 hours of work yesterday to get my display back after that fiasco.
Any ideas about whether or not a driver update would actually fix the IE10 problems on this computer? Any reassurances from HP that running this driver update would actually work and not bork my system again? Do I have more headaches to look forward to thanks to this "uncommon and strange config"?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi:
My understanding is that the video card in your model is specifically made for HP, and only the HP drivers from your PC's support and driver page will work on that card.
If HP provides no updates there, you are unfortunately stuck with the status quo.
Others have had this problem on other consumer and business models with that card.
Currently, there is a graphics card update on your PC's support and driver page dated January 3, 2013.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-113963-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
That would be the only driver you can try.  Whether or not it fixes the issue you are experiencing, I cannot say.
The notes state it fixes a blue screen error.

  • AMD Radeon HP 7520G in Windows 8

I have a HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC, running Windows 8 (not 8.1)
Adobe Flash Player version 15.0.0.189 is installed, but all videos play audio, but with a Green screen!
I'm assuming this is a driver issue? Because I've tried most everything else after the last Adobe Flash Player Update (when all this started happening).
How do I update the driver driver for AMD Radeon HP 7520G, installed on my PC?
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Pyrate77
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I am happy to help you with your questions and assist with the green video issue. Firstly,  Pavillion G7 is a family of notebooks with many different members with pretty much every possible combination of windows 7,  8 and 8.1 among them. Please see the following if you need any help in finding that information:
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
You could try whichever of these drivers most applies to your notebook. It is possible that it could resolve the problem.
    AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver - Windows 8 32bit
    AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - Windows 8 64bit
Please let me know the result.

  • AMD Radeon HD 8330

I can't seem to get the driver to install properly for this device, when I do it always error 43's. The default windows driver works OKAY but gaming is completely out. Can anyone tell me how to get it functioning correctly?

    Hi,
Do you mean that the driver for AMD Radeon HD 8330 graphic card stops working and shows error code 43? Does this issue only happen when upgraded to Windows 10 Technical Preview. First I would suggest you uninstall the driver from
device manager, then Scan for hardware changes or reboot PC to automatically reinstall the driver. detailed information in the link below can be helpful

I found on web, and didn't find a driver for this device for Windows 10 Technical Preview , so it might be a driver compatibility issue, I suggest you confirm the detailed driver info with the device manufacture.
