Smaller STB for wall mounted Kitchen TV

Spoke to a FIOS tech the other day and he explained to me there is a small STB (about the size of a personal cd player) for a small kitchen TV.  He said that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the full size boxes have, but they can get all the channels.
I can't find any info online.  Anybody know anything about these boxes?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

They are the DCT700 model box.  The technician was correct.  They do not have a full IMG and very limited menu options.  They do not have access to VOD either.

  • Secure wall mount for iPad?

    Hi...
I will be displaying iPad drawings in an art show.
I need to wall mount my iPad securely.
Not so much against gravity as theft...    :-)
Does anyone have experience with specific products you could recommend for use in this sort of environment?
Kinda like a commercial kiosk use, with buttons covered, in view-only mode.
Thanks in advance for any time you might have for a reply,
           Tom

I am using their products for my Macbook and I am loving it (highly recommended BTW) so I will natuarally recommend the rest of their stuff.
I searched for wall mounts on the site and think you'll be able to find whatever you need there.

  • Is it okay to "wall-mount" an Airport Time Capsule sideways?

Just bought a new Airport Time Capsule to replace an older "flying saucer" Airport Express. Is it okay to mount the ATC sideways? My main concern is the internal HD. is there a problem with an HD spinning sideways over an extended period of time? Any other reason I should not mount it sideways?
A bit more explanation (only if you are wondering why I need to mount it sideways):
I need to mount the ATC on a wall because placing it in the hallway is the only way I get full signal strength throughout my apartment (old building with thick walls and lots of corners). I am using the old AE mounting bracket with zip ties, at least until I can determine a better way and/or location. Sideways mount determined by how the mount works and how the wiring is fed into the unit. I guess Apple decided that users would simply put these things on their desks or bookshelves.
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks Bob, I just got off the phone with Applecare, and they said for optimal signal strength, the unit should be mounted upright. But I was told if I am getting a good signal as set up, there's no reason to change it since there is no risk to the HD.
Regarding airflow—good point. I did take that into consideration. The vents appear to be on the bottom of the unit, so mounting the unit sideways leaves that surface completely open. So I don't think airflow would be impeded. Here, I am making an assumption about how the engineers intended the ATC to work. When I have the time, I'll build a small shelf to wall mount the unit in it's upright position.
Thanks—this is the type of info I am looking for. I'd like the unit to last a while before I have to replace it.

  • WCS does not support wall mount orientation of 1131 & 1000 APs w/int. ant.

I have been unable to determine how to indicate wall mount orientation of APs in the WLC for the 1000 series (AireSpace) and 1131AG series access points.
I can set the rotational direction they are pointing if ceiling mounted , but cannot indicate if they are located on the wall or ceiling.
I am assuming a ceiling mount configuration is all that is supported in the WCS.
As an aside, when attempting to correctly orient the antenna direction on the 1000 series AP, the diagram used on the WCS to indicate the orientation of "0 degrees" mark on the access point shows an AP as if it were sitting on a table (an invalid orientation - wall & ceiling are the recommended orientations). This means that you have to mentally "flip" the controller over to account for ceiling mount and then determine which way the arrow should be pointed on the WCS map - not much fun.
Any suggestions for dealing with wall-mounted orientation? Have I missed something?
For ceiling mount installations, how critical is it that the antennae orientation be configured on 1131AG and 1000 series models?
For wall mount, I would imagine that for determining location and RF planning that the wall mount / ceiling mount orientation would have a significant affect, yet I cannot seem to find any way to set this orientation.

  • IMac Wall Mount?

Does anyone know what, if any, options are available for wall-mounting the new iMac (Intel Dual Core)? I recall the old G5 iMac had such a wall-mounting option, but in checking various reviews in the Apple Store, I noticed a few comments suggesting that such options might have recently been phased out. Whatayathink? Thanks.
iMac 2 GHz (Intel Dual Core)   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

This has been discussed previously, and the answer is no.
The problem is the foot, as it is not removable - at least not without a lot of work & violating your warranty. And even then you are left with the problem of attaching the mount to the back of the iMac.
There are some wall/desk mounts that has a tray for the monitor to sit on - we have them at work. Some have brackets to secure the base of the monitor to the stand.
One other wild suggestion is to literally cut off the foot & devise a bracket to attach the left over portion of the foot to the mount. This also may void your warranty. This is one option I have been kicking around since I got my Intel iMac.

  • EA4500 wall mount options

Can the EA4500 be wall mounted?
I don't see any provisions on the underside EA4500 to support securing to a wall.

Yes I believe it will work best horizontally.  You never know but that might be the reason they didn't provide keyholes for wall mounting, because it might dimish the performance for it to mounted that way.
I've been wondering if it would work OK upside down on the celing.  Most horizontal wireless routers & AP's seem to be fine with that, sometimes even preferring it.
And related to that I was wondering if some clever 3rd party would come up with a mounting bracket that the EA4500 or E4200 could slip into.
For example, the Apple Airport Extreme similarly does not have any keyholes for wall mounting, but a company called H-Squared came up with a $30 plexiglass mounting bracket for it.
Anyone ever seen anything like this for the new Linksys cases?

    Monitor? TV? What brand?
Not having very much luck finding the product you're describing but i'm more than happy to assist you with this.
I would assume since the OP is posting in the Touchsmart forum they are referring to the Touchsmart 610-1201 computer, no idea why you can't find it, the OP gave all the correct information.
OP you're probably looking for the #VK554AA adapter, but you will still need an additional VESA wall mount.
Google for "touchsmart wall mount adapter for vesa wall mount" and you'll see the many sources for this part.

  • Wall Mount for a 23" (Clear enclosure) Apple LCD Monitor

I've been scouring the net, looking for wall/desk mounting options (like an articulated arm, or even a bracket just to mount it to the wall) for my 23" Apple cinema - NOT THE NEW METAL ONE - the older, clear plastic enclosure type...
The only thing I can find is like $350! Is there anything cheaper out there? I've found the articulating arms, but nothing that mounts to the wall. (Except for Marathon - which is now out of business...)
    Help!

  • I have a touchsmart 310 and am looking for a wall mount. What type do I need?

I currently have a TouchSmart 310 and am looking for a wall mount.  Every site I check only seems to have the adapter for the 310, but the entire kit for the 600 and 9100 series.  I am unsure what to purchase.  Please help.

Have you looked at the http://www.iversal.com adapter? you just use that and any standard VESA wall mount with it.

  • Wall mount solution for AppleTV2?

I have a plasma hung on a wall in my bedroom and I also have a AppleTV2 connected to it, but it's currently just dangling from the tv wall mount. Are there any wall mounts for the AppleTV2? The only one's I can find online are for the first generation AppleTV. How are others mounting their AppleTV2 to the wall and/or tv on the wall?

    Hello my freind
I just brought the following and it works great will mount on any surface cut one bit in half
Velcro 60239 HeavyDuty Stick on Strips 50mmx100mm Black
Make sure once you stick it to the surface you leave it to bond for 24 hours as the sticky side has to take before you peel the velcro off of each other then you simpley just remove it each time buy pulling it off the velcro fixxing. It is so strong fixxing it will never move you would think it was screwed to the wall not stuck with velcro.
Also cut two thin strips and put them on each end of the remote and again on the wall, again wait 24 hours for it to bond to the wall.
This will mount your remote when not using it next to your apple tv 2.
The strips of velcro honnestly hold items upto 7kg a strip I could not belive it when i tried it , I just thought i would try it and was amazed at the result.
I forgot to say make sure the spike side of the velcro is on the wall as it seams to be the stronger side so when you remove it it is slightly easyier to remove it still will take some edging to remove as the velcro is also really strong.
Hope this helps you with a great solution at a cheap price kindest regards Lee

  • Need a wall mount for 40RV700A / 40CV700A

My son has this TV; it seems the way the warranty is worded, only a Toshiba approved wall-mount can be fitted to the TV, but Toshiba does not list any approved wall mount for this model, which leaves us stuck.

    Hi
As far as I know you can use an wall mount from different manufacturers which meets the VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) standards.
I googled a little bit and the TV weight without the stand is 16.5kg (with stand 18.5kg)
So you should ensure that the wall mount would support this weight.
