Smart Call Connector Toolbar Outlook

We have this downloaded (V 2.2) - was told it's free.I assume the SERVER IP it's looking for is either Cisco UC540 or CUE and the username/password is the mailbox user's username/password. That doesn't work. So...
1. Is there an install guide? Nothing out there or coming with the download.
2. Is this truly free for registered users of the UC500 series?
3. Are there any other components required (i.e. the server componenet)?
Thanks

  • Cisco Smart Call Connector / Advanced Client / Server for UC500

Would like to hear from Cisco:
Is there still development in progress on Cisco Smart Call Connector, the advanced client, server and operator involving compatibility and support for Windows 8 / Outlook 2013 / and IE 10 32 and 64 bit ?
Please vote this up if interested !

jeliasoncisco wrote:Hello. I have a growing practice selling UC500 and would like to know this too. Cisco, please keep selling and developing this. Thanks a million!
Check forums here or talk to your Channel Account Manager.
Cisco doesn't care for the UC500 anymore and will not continue selling it for much longer.

  • Smart Call Connector Advanced

Hi, im just wondering when we can expect an update to Smart Call Connector Server and Advanced Clients?
This software is in need of some serious bug fixes...and feature enhancements!

Indeed, but roadmap questions and questions related to when a new product release will be published are matters that cannot be discussed in a public forum. That's why you need to reach your AM, also to submit a PER you need to do so via AM.

  • Smart Call Connector SCC UC500

I have a question on SCC for my customer.
He wants basic presence on their internal NFR UC540 system but have no requirement for receptionist usage.
I’ve been having a hunt around and would like to confirm what would be needed?
They have 17 phones so would they need to get
    1x L-SW-SCC-SERVER
    2x L-SW-SCC-8ADVANCED
I’m guessing they wouldn’t need SCC for all handsets so could probably get away with 1 additional licence pack.
Also is the Server SKU needed to run SCC? I have heard that it may not be needed?
Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Alan,
You can run standalone mode but not recommended.
I would stick with your original assumption and get a server and 2X 8 Pac licenses to cover it, in order for SCC to really work properly it is highly recommended to get a server, and then spend the countless hours setting it up as well
But please keep in mind that I do not see Cisco continuing any maintenance on SCC or any other major releases, I could be wrong, but I know it wont most likely be setup to work with Windows 8 either, which tells me (And I could be wrong again) that they will probably call it EoL and EoS.
    Cheers,
    David Trad.

  • SCC Smart Call Connector NFR

I saw that NFR licences for SCC can be requested.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13287
Does anyone know how to get these?

    Hi Alan,
If you are the client then you need to ask your Cisco Partner to assist you with this (Be mindful that many don't like doing it as there is no coin in it for them )
Or if you are the partner, then speak with your Cisco Account Manager who will then get Authorization for you to get it at NFR pricing from the Distributor.
    Cheers,
    David Trad.

  • Getting data into 4S from a different smart phone or Windows Outlook?

I didn't think it would be this hard. I was using a Windows mobile 6.5 smart phone syncing to Outlook in Bootcamp (or Parallels) on my MacBookPro.  I assumed that I would be able to transfer all my pda data over. I went to the Apple store yesterday & talked to a set up person who only seemed to know about transferring contacts. Duh, this is a smart phone, not just a cell phone so there is a lot more in it than contacts.
So then I went to Genius bar where I was tended to by the head Genius. I had run a conversion on the calendar to mac compatible. So he imported that. But it seems to have lost all the exceptions to my recurring events--like a weekly event that isn't happening this week & next because of the holidays is still showing up. & not only that, its in twice.
I guess that may have happened when I ran the conversion program as it said something about exceptions that I didn't understand.
But now I'm thinking that, wait a minute, it says the iPhone can sync with Windows & Outlook. So now I"m thinking that maybe we should have set it up to sync with Outlook to get the calendar info in, & maybe the contacts as well.
As it is, it looks like I will have to go in & re-enter the calendar exceptions that I had carefully previously entered.
I'm wondering if I could just delete the calendar info in iCal and/or iPhone & go back & sync to Outlook, & then change it back to sync to the Mac side.
I have an Apple One to One on the iPhone this afternoon, but I want to use that to learn how to work the thing. Frustration right now in that I don't know how to do all the things that I knew so well on the old phone. So I want to learn how to use the basic functions I've already been used to useing, calendar, etc as well as getting used to typing on it. Not doing real well on that yet, lol. & I want to learn how to use Siri & reminders right away before a planned trip next week.
So any suggestions appreciated. Don't know if it would have been different in transferring data if I went to a Verizon store. & I also need to get my email set up. That I may be able to do myself since I've done it a few times on my old phone & different computers.

OK, this confirmed somewhat, what I had realized overnight--after the Apple store did things the hard way. I didn't follow exactly what they were doing, but I asked for help with setup. & I told them that I had my data in OutlookWindows, which I thought I told them was in Bootcamp on my Mac.
But it seems that the one who did setup had a device that Verizon uses & which apparently is what they use when moving info from an old cell phone to a new one. & So he just brought over the contacts. In the process, the photos associated with them were lost. I'm not sure, maybe he asked me what I wanted to bring over, I'm not real sure, but I remember I mentioned I needed my contacts & my calendar but he seemed unsure how to get the calendar in.
Of course I had made the mistake of thinking that I needed to do it the way that I had gotten the earlier contacts in--but that was before I had the iPhone that could sync with the Mac so I had converted the data.  So I wasn't thinking straight & it appears that neither were they.
I mean it seems that they were doing it like what Verizon used to do when switching from one cell phone to another--ones that didn't have pda type functions.
I mean, duh, when one is switching from one smart phone to another, it kind of seems a given that we want all our stuff brought over to the new device, especially when it can be done by syncing it over.
What I finally did today was that after my One to One appointment, I got back to back Genius bar appointments (after reading this solution that confirmed what I had been thinking--which was after I came out of the Verizon store where they got my email set up so I could see this notice) & asked if we could delete the messed up calendar & instead sync it in from Outlook.
So he did it by givng me step by step instructions. (below) & then he created a new calendar. Then he deleted the original one--this on my macbookpro--& then renamed the one Home.
These are the step by step instructions he gave me.
    1. Download iTunes to Windows from iTunes.com, (I did this in Parallels which uses bootcamp running Win 7 as a virtual machine)
    2. Open iTunes & plug in iPhone
    3. click on left side on my phone
    4. click on info tab at top--where personal info is
    5. click sync all contacts
    6. scroll to bottom under advanced (this was because I was only syncing calendars since the rest had already been brought over). So then I clicked on sync calendars
    7. Hit apply button on bottom right.
then click on phone icon in iTunes to eject phone
Then do the same things on the Mac side except not using advanced, just a regular sync of calendar.
One other frustrating thing in all this is that I had an apple id, but had to change that to set up iCloud since it required an email address. So changed my ID, but same password. But then when iTunes wanted me to register or register my device, it said my password was invalid. They have slightly different rules for the password. Would have been nice if they were uniform so I don't have to change things twice!
I did it & it worked so now, I do have 2 calendars on my iPhone, but I guess I can delete one of them later.
But this brought the calendar events over the way I had entered them with the exceptions to the recurring events. That is the weekly events that don't happen some weeks due to holidays or other reasons. Those exceptions were recognized so those events that are not happening this week, properly now do not show up in my calendar. So I don't have to go back & re-enter the exceptions.
But I'm really disappointed that the Apple Store personnel who as part of the iPhone One to One training lists syncing with Outlok, didn't seem to even think of that as the best way to get pda data from Windows was not to pull it from the old phone, but instead to first sync the iPhone with Windows.  Not sure what they tell those just using Windows computers.

  • Oracle Connector for Outlook and Sent Mail

I'm very desperate for help with my problem. I have a customer that uses Outlook 2003 with the Oracle Connector for Outlook. When I set up the Connector, I only had it handle her Calendar. By that I mean that the only thing I wanted the Connector to do was pull her Oracle Calendar information and put it into Outlook's calendar. I used the default setting of the Connector of IMAP, but deselected the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
The user kept having problems with Outlook going Offline so I decided to remove the Connector. I did not realize until after removing the Connector account from Outlook that her sent mail was being saved in Oracle. This is very problematic for me because I have no idea what to do. Is there a way to retrieve the sent mail? I don't even understand why the sent mail was being saved within the Oracle folder. Once I deleted the Connector account in Outlook I was then told that I had to choose another folder for new mail to go to so I chose Personal Folders.
If I go to \Documents and Settings\User's Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook, I find the folder for the Connector. There is one in particular that has a .dll file that is about 56MB in size. However, I have no idea if that's the sent mail and, if so, how do I retrieve it.
I'd GREATLY appreciate any help that can be given on this. I simply would like to know if there is a way to retrieve that mail.
The user is using an IMAP account. This is NOT an Exchange account.

    1. Yes, OCFO is only for comunication with Oracle Calendar
    2. Yes, you can see any mail stored on the Oracle IMAP server without OCFO. Just subscribe to IMAP folders you want ...

  • Smart call handling

    Hello
The smart call handling in Sony xperia Z3 is really bad compared to Samsung galaxy S series smart call handling.
In Samsung the call rejection or face down mute or automatic call answering was much better.
In Sony xperia, all these can be enabled together or disabled only at once..
The main issue is when smart call handling is enabled and we enable call waiting option, while talking to one caller then when we receive another call without using Bluetooth or hands-free, then the call is switched to the second caller automatically without the intention. This is really disturbing and for this only reason the smart call handling has to be disabled and it becomes useless.
Please fix this bug or issue urgently. Iam using xperia X3 on lollipop version recently upgraded.

    Good Day,
Have you received any feedback regarding this?
I am past the point of frustration as this is a truely unprofessional feature on these phones.
This is not acceptible for anyone doing serious bussiness on their phones.

  • Smart call-home setup in ASA with contexts

    Hello,
I have a problem configuring Smart call home service in an ASA 5500 having contexts.
The DNS config is available on contexts, however the service is enabled to system.
At the moment, following all the cisco's documentations, seems it doesn't work.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks.
    Notis

Let separate what the Cisco back-end can process and what the end device can do.  What your document above indicates is,  "What call home messages can the Cisco backend evaluate, and what processed call  home messages will raise a TAC case automatically?" The Call Home process on the end device sends in Call Home messages to the Cisco backend (aka Smart Call Home) from many sources or triggers. When it says "Alarm type" in the document, it means the source or trigger for the Call Home message.
But the ASA supports adding syslog matching patterns to the alert group syslog. But it still triggers the same call home message containing "show log" and "show inventory". You can also rate limit the call home messages triggered via syslog with the rate-limit command.
    subscribe-to-alert-group syslog [severity  {catastrophic | disaster | fatal | critical | major  | minor | warning | notification | normal |  debugging} [pattern string]]
Remember that a profile specifies the transport method and alert group selection. And that multiple profiles can be configured on the device at the same time.
When you want human readable call home messages, you use the long text message format in the profile. On the other hand, the Cisco backend requires Call Home messages in a certain format (XML), hence the  CiscoTAC-1 restrictive profile.Typically people will copy the CiscoTAC-1 profile into a new unrestrictive profile and then add an additional email address besides [email protected] so they, too, can see the "unprocessed" call home messages.
Of course, after the Cisco backend processes one of these Call Home messages, depending on the Call Home message, it sends a notification email to the admin for the device telling them it processed a message.
