Smart Converter Pro 2

I'm running Mavericks on a mid 2007 iMac with 6 gb Ram, iTunes 11.1.5 and Smart Converter Pro (SCP) 2 V2.0.2. I am trying to conver .mkv files to m4v files. SCP gives me many conversion options but they are all labled as the intended device with no indication of the file extension. SCP converts the .mkv to .mp4s which play just fine in Quicktime but the mp4s do not show up in iTunes nor in Apple TV. I'm wondering if other have the same problem or if I might have a preference mis-set?

If no circle "x" is in the corner then they can only be deleted by first removing them from your Applications folder. If they still appear, not uncommon, then I suggest using the utility Launchpad Manager 1.3.10.

Placing objects in Smart Cut Pro from Illustrator

I know in CorelDraw, you can create a contour of the object, break it apart and place it into the cutting program and be able to cut out both shapes. I was wondering if it is possible to do something like that with an outlined object created in Illustrator. Also, can you just copy and paste an object into Smart Cut Pro from Illustrator?

FCP has limited tools for this, because, after all, it is a NON-LINEAR EDITOR, not a compositing or visual effects program. And what you are trying to do falls squarely in that catagory.

What can I do about paying for Office from a commercial store, and itunes charging $100 for smart converter, ms office package and pack for ms office $41.99? It surely looks like double dipping

Hi folks, I am puzzled when looking at my itunes account. I bought a store office 365 package for $100, and in the process of installing it, somehow ended up with fees for smart converter, ms office package and pack for ms office, totalling another $90 from itunes. Isn't this double dipping and if so, how do I go about a refund? Thanks jby

Well, MS Office 2004 is available for the Mac and being a user of both the Windows and Mac versions, I think that the Mac version has a slight edge. The only downside is that it does not come with MS Access so if you use that then you have to stay with the PC version.
But... if you are set on mainly using Windows then paying a substantial premium just for a computer that looks good rather than on the fact that it runs OSX and hence great packages such as iLife etc is probably a waste. This is especially true when you have to remember that Apple will not give any technical support to users running Windows.. nil, nada, nowt! Likewise, Microshaft (sorry Microsoft) also seem unwilling to give support at this time since (for some strange reason) they don't like the idea of Windows on a Mac.
As I see it, the main reason for Apple to release the ability to run Windows was to:
a> Produce an 'official' version rather than have an unauthorised version 'in the field' which if problematic, could give Apple a bad name.
b> Give people who would like to have a Mac but have the occassional program which has to be run under Windows, the ability to switch to a Mac.
Option b was the reason why I switched from years on a PC to the Mac.

I have bought and paid PDF Converter Pro from App Store. It seems I download it "not complete" because it showed red color "error".
I deleted it from my launchpad, hoping that I can re-install and fix it, without repay. It fact I have to repay and re-download.
Is there any way to re-install and re-download without repayment ?

I have deleted the software from Purchases Pane. Also I have deleted it from Launchpad. The intention of deletion from Launchpad is to re-install and fix it.

Pdf converter pro not converting all columns

pdf converter pro not converting all columns

I'm using FrameMaker 7.1 to create multi-file user manual books (one file = one chapter). In Book view, I use the File > Save Book As... option to create the PDFs.
Most of the FrameMaker cross-references work in the PDF, jumping to the referenced location as expected. Not all do, however. If there is a common trait among the jumps that won't jump, I have not identified it.
I have downloaded the entire 7.1 "upgrade library" from the Adobe Web site (one update), but the problem persists. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Phonebook/Contacts app for MW1 Smart Headset Pro

Hi,
I would like to see an app to reach contacts on my Android phone from my Smart Headset Pro.
There is an app named Phonebook for Smart Extras but that is for Smartwatch and does not work on Smart Headset Pro.
At least an app to rach favourite contacts would be great.
Also, I'm interested in other apps for MW1 as well but can't find much. Is there a list of supported apps ?

Radio streaming from Smart Headset Pro to Android phone

Is there an Android app (or could I write one) that plays the radio stream from the Smart Headset Pro, e.g. using the phones speakers if the earplugs are not connected.

Both smart converter and disk aid crashes

while tryin to convert movies for quicktime, my smart converter app keeps crashing. with that, other apps and computer freezes up. i thought that maybe over time the macbook might be accumulating errors and glitches from everyday use. i tried to open up disk aid and clean things up, but disk aid crashes before it even opens. anyone have ideas whats goin on?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process (Disk Utility) in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

Film Convert Pro vs. Magic Bullet Color Suite

I'm currently in the process of considering to purchase Magic Bullet Color Suite, but I also see their is a product that some Dslr filmmakers use call Film Convert Pro, it costs a bit, but I want to know if this is something that is needed, if you already have the Magic Bullet Color Suite.

I own and have used both FilmConvert Pro and the MB suite and frankly, I recommend both...sort of.
FilmConvert is used to turn your video camera footage into what it would look like had you actually shot on film. That's it's primary purpose and it works beautifully. It can also do color correction as a secondary function, and that also works quite well. I tested a problem clip with both FilmConvert and Colorista. Viewed on my calibrated Sony Trinitron CRT HDTV, I had a very hard time telling the difference between the clips, meaning the correction on both looked great. However, within the PP sequence, the FC corrected clips definitely ran smoother than the Colorista corrected clips.
Having said that, I notice that my SpeedGrade corrected clips run even better in PP than the FilmConvert clips. And SG is far more powerful than either FilmConvert or Colorista.
So my recommendation is to use FilmConvert to 'convert' your video into film, and then use SpeedGrade to do any color correction and grading. Where does that leave Magic Bullet?
I don't feel Colorista is necessary at this point, now that we can get any footage into SpeedGrade. However, MB Looks still offers plenty of 'effects' that you may find useful. Things like diffusion, vignettes, soft-focus, etc. These are things that might well be possible to duplicate in other ways, but not with the ease and simplicity that Looks offers. You may not need the full Suite, but I feel Looks is still worth having.
