Smart folders not working...

I've got some smart folders that just stopped working... I haven't changed the definitions and they were working fine, but all of a sudden they are not.
The one that is not working is defined with 3 things, one of them is another smart filter. This has always worked in the past.
I booted the machine, and inso doing went in and out of mail. Is there anything to reset?

I found a work around... but I'm still curious why this stopped working...
The original logic was to have a sort of pre-filter Smart Mailbox with tons of conditions with "Any" selected. Then the second folder had "All" selected with "In the pre-filter mailbox" and "in the inbox selected". This stopped working and I had to then change it to "In the pre-filter mailbox" and "not in the specific folder I later sort into" This isn't quite as useful since sometimes I sort into different folders, but it did work.
I'm on 10.4.10 on a PPC iMac G5 1GB DDR2 SDRAM... I've done all the updates Apple can put out here except the iPod stuff since I'm not in that world... yet.

Upgrade from Tiger makes smart folders not work any more.

I tag certain categories of applications with Spotlight comments, and create a smart folder to find those files with that Spotlight comment. This way I can have a folder for 'games', for example.
Those smart folders don't work any more in Snow Leopard.
The Spotlight comments are still there, tho.
Here is what is stranger. If I recreate the smart folder, it still does not work.

Ug! I have to reenter all the Spotlight comments on each Application. That fixes it.
Not sure if recreating smart folders was necessary, tho.

Smart Folders not working in Addressbook

When i use the smart group function of my addressbook it doesn't mather what rules i specify ... i always get everyone in my addressbook.
How can i make this work ?
I have r/w rights on the addressbook folder so that shouldn't be a problem.

Sidebar Places Folders NOT working as a Smart Folder

I have three sidebar Places Folders that I originally made, but now they do not work as an expected Smart Folder. The additional problem is I cannot remove these sidebar folders by simply dragging them OFF the side bar. If I right click on these three problem sidebar folders I am only allowed to "Open Sidebar Preferences" and further more the sidebar folder cannot be highlighted. What can I do to remove these folders from the sidebar?

C, sorry…I read your posts out of order. I see that you have links to your smart groups after all. My apologies.
It's as you say, the course pages load up, but I don't see anything in the smart groups. Just thinking out loud here…maybe the search criteria don't genuinely match anything on your site? Perhaps there are actual matches, but you've hidden content with a new credential?…I accessed both pages using the "Unauthenticated" and "All" credentials. My last/craziest guess is that it has something to do with localization…français versus anglais?

Smart Sharpen not Working in CC 2014

Recently I upgraded from CC to CC 2014. Since then I can't get Smart Sharpen to work. Lens and motion blur don't work at all. Sometimes when I choose Gaussian blur it works other times not.
It's not just me, a friend who has it installed on two computers can't make it work either.
Any ideas?

In order to preview .php pages locally, you need a local testing server (Wamp, Xampp, Mamp). Is yours properly defined in DW CC? See screenshots.

SSAS Display Folders not working properly after using Translations

Hi
I have a Cube with many fact tables and each having many measures.So for user convience i have created display folder for measures inside measure groups and everything was working fine.
But now i have created Translation (English(United States)) for measures,Calculated member and Dimensions and Processed.I observed that the display folders are working for calculated measures but weirdly the other measures display folder property is not
getting applied.
Please let me know if anybody came cross this and fixed.

According to your description, your display folders in not working after using translation. Right?
In Analysis Services, this is a known bug. However, we have workaround for this issue.
Solution:
1. Locate your cube in Solution Explorer
2. Right click on it and choose 'View code'
3. Find the corresponding <Translation> tag - look for the Foreign name of your Calculated member
4. Below the <Caption> tag place a line with <DisplayFolder> tag. The properties within Translation tag should look like:
              <Language>1001</Language>
              <Caption>Foreign name of Calculated member</Caption>
              <DisplayFolder>Foreign name for the display folder</DisplayFolder>
5. Repeat for all your calculated members.

Smart Actions not working properly after software update

My Razr updated 2 days ago and since then my Smart Actions are not working properly.
I have my Work action set to turn the volume down when I'm at a certain GPS. It shows that "Work" is active, but doesn't turn the volume down.
Also, there are times (since I've owned the phone) that it will not connect to the network after coming off a Wifi Connection without rebooting the phone. I took it into a Verizon store and they did a hard reset, and that fixed it for a time, but it started doing it again.
Any help appreciated.

Hi mcclainkb, Let's make sure your phone works as you expect it to! Have you tried removing the Smart Action and setting it back up again? Are your other GPS services working as normal? After the hard reset performed in the store did you install all of the same application that you had before?

Smart Recorder not working anym

I don't know what happened but Smart Recorder seems to have stopped working. It doesn't pick up on the input source. I have the Peak Meter box checked and there is no activity on there. I've tried different input sources. Wave and What U Hear but none of them work. Help.Message Edited by FuturePilot on 0-2-200703:47 PM

i can relate to your problem as i have nearly exactly the same . I am trying to record my old lp's to my hd ,i can hear the music not a problem but can't get smart recorder to work . I have tried different imputs including winamp through wave ,no worries about hearing the tracks but again no go with the recorder .Here are a few things that are happening , i to cannot get the peak meter register and when i click the box to remove hiss and clicks i lose the sound . The recorder used to work just fine ,i have updated drivers and programs frome the web site , the onboard sound has been disabled the x-fi card is the coms default . I had problems early on with conflicts between mb and sound card but a bios update fixed that (asus mb amd 64 x2 chip and X-fi platinum sound card.}Really want to find out what is happening as i like the pro for its one step does everything .

Smart guides not working

Hello,
I'm working in Illustrator CS4 on a Mac.
In Preferences, I set Smart Guides to 30 degree angles and clicked on Construction Guides.
In View, I clicked on Smart Guides (command U).
However, when I click on an anchor point and try to move it 30 degrees with Smart Guides to guide me, they don't show up.
I've tried restarting the program and turning Smart Guides on/off, but nothing seems to work.
Any idea why the Smart Guide lines don't show up?

No, I don't think Pixel Preview is the answer.
I've used Smart Guides effectively for years in Illustrator CS3 without Pixel Preview.
Often I draw my objects in Illustrator to appear isometric. So I turn on the Smart Guides to help me draw at 30 degree angles.
As I said, I've done this effectively for years. It's only recently that I noticed that the 30 degree angle guides are not working effectively. On some documents they appear correctly, some they don't appear at all.
I wonder if this is a glitch is CS4.
In the most current document I have, I am able to draw a stroke/line at 30 degrees using Smart Guides. I click to establish an anchor point and then move my curser to establish a second anchor point. When I go to click the second anchor (to create the line), 30 degree Smart Guides appear correctly. I am not in Pixel Preview mode.
However, when I try to move an object (or 2 or more selected anchor points), the 30 degree Smart Guides do not appear.
Can someone try to duplicate the above and see if they get the same results?

Smart Resizing not working for RDWEB Published desktop

I have a working RDS deployment, I am able to change the screen resolution of the published desktops both in powershell and registry. However if I add the 'smart sizing' option, this does not get published in the .rdp file. I have added the entries
in registry but that did not work either. Is this a feature that is disabled by default or I am missing something ?

Sorry for the wrong information. Smart Resizing is works with older version of rdp client too (in win 8 you can switch this mode via GUI).
You must distribute updated version of .rdp file (with smart sizing:i:1 line) to RDS client

Smart Sharpen not working

I have CS 4. Though the program is mostly working fine, the 'smart sharpen' is not. Is there a way to get this running again?

What exactly is not working in Smart Sharpen? Are you seeing the Preview? Have you adjusted sliders to extreme to see if any effect? Are you viewing Preview pane at 100%? Have you gone Select>Deselect to make sure you don't have some pixels selected somewhere? A screenshot may be helpful to show what is not working.

Smart groups not working

Whenever I try to set up a course as a smart group, not only do I not see any options (see http://tinyurl.com/34rnar6 ) but I get the warning "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again."
Has this been happening for a while, or am I just hitting the system at a bad time?

I have had this issue also since June 6th. Glad (and sorry) to hear others are having the same issue.
In addition to the original problem (see image in the first post), I have had other strange behaviors. I thought some Smart groups were corrupted, so I deleted then and tried to start over. When I tried to create new ones, sometimes it would open a different smart group (one was even not from our site). There seems to be much confusion.
Creating a new Smart group, I entered a title, and when I clicked on the + button to add a new row, it came up with all the lines of a different smart feed. On other attempts, I could add 1 or 2 lines before it would blank out like the original image shows. This happens on both my Mac and PC. It is causing large holes in our website.

Smart case not working. Ipad Air 2 8.1.3

Hi,
I just bought a new smart case for Ipad Air 2. I notice that the case not working (open,close cover nothing happens). General setting doesn't have the turn on/off (or lock/unlock or smt like that) under auto lock settings. Anyone has the solution ?

I will bring my stuffs to the Apple store and tell them to check. However, is there any chance that problem caused by a screen protector ?! I also bought one that made by shatter resistant glass and that's thicker than other. May be that reduce the sensor sensibility?

Smart playlists not working on my ipod touch?

my smart playlists (such as top 25 most played, recently added etc) are not working on my ipod touch 3rd gen 64gb. they are syncing the correct info on my other ipod nano, but on my ipod touch they are coming up with different songs. this is very annoying!!! please someone help me?
