SMART FORM Both side printing

Hi,
I need help in printing smartform in both side. it has to print terms and conditions on back side of page after printing main window for each page.

Try this logic!!!
Create total 3 pages. For example
Page 1 (items page)
Page 2 & page 3 (terms & conditions)
page1 (next page) = page2
page2 (next page ) = page1
page3 (next page) = blank
Now In your main window in page 1, just after the table create a command and give next page as page3.

Problem while both-side printing

Hi ,
I develop a specif form for a customer. In my form i got 2 main page, the first one should appears only one times and the second one should appears many time as necessary. That works fine.
Now i want to insert between page1 and page2 a new page let's call page3 where there's only static text like Terms and Condition . I should also insert this page after each page 2 .
The result should be :
Page 1
Page 3
Page 2(1)
Page 3
Page 2(n)
Page 3
So in the designer i insert the page 3 between page 1 and 2 . In the dynamic part of page 1 i set next page to page 3 . In the dynamic part of Page2 i set that on overflow go to page 3 .
That works nearly fine , i got page 3 between each page 1 and 2 , but after the last page 2 i don't have page 3 .
Does somebody face the same requirement and how does it solved ?

instead of print both sides, print odd page first, flip over the page, then print the even page. yellow blink light on the printer means that the other side is ready, just reinsert the paper with other side up and press continue on your computer.

Both side print not working in network using windows 7

Sorry for the delayed response. Try adding an alternate driver. Here is a link that will provide steps for that. Click Here Check which PCL driver you are currently using and add the alternate (PCL5/PCL6). Please see the below for additional clarification.
Utilize the above link for exact steps on adding the driver.
1. Check which driver currently used-PCL5 or PCL6-this will be located near name of driver in print folder or print properties
2. Follow steps provided in link to add whichever one the currently installed driver is using
     A. Select HP as manufactuer
     B. Select HP universal printing PCL 6 or HP universal printing PCL 5
3. Attempt duplex print job

How to know no of pages in smart forms to be printed ?
though i got SFSY structure during run time of smartform , even that was not useful.
&SFSY-FORMPAGES&
Displays the total number of pages for the currently processed form. This allows you to include texts such as'Page x of y' into your output.
for that Page &SFSY-PAGE& of &SFSY-FORMPAGES&
during debug of smart form i don't understand how it is calculating no of pages ,as i kept break point before printing page no in smart form.
please check my two screen shots, sfsy-formpage still contains current page no only but not total no of pages.

You will not get these values during debugging.. Let the program execute completely, you will get the right values.
As Manish said, the value for &SFSY-FORMPAGES& will be known only after all the pages are processed, though it is not necessary that you use them in the final window only. It can be a text node in a window of any type.
You will get the desired output, just cant see them during debugging within the program. At the time of printing or in the print review, output would be as expected.
Also, FYI, it would be better to give total pages as &SFSY-FORMPAGES(3ZC)& as there can be error if the total number of pages exceeds 9, due to lack of sufficient space to print more digits

SMART Form, Right Side not getting Printed, "Print Preivew Fine"

We are facing an issue while Printing a Smart Form,
Printer Device Type : HPLJ8000
Document Type : Customized Smart Form
Print Prieview : Fine
Print Format : DINA4
Initially the Printout was fine, however the Left side of the Form is not having enough margin, as a reason the ABAPer have moved 3 mm to the right , now we have problem on the Right side, however the ABAPer says its not form issue as the print preview is fine, I am looking out to know the Possible changes I can do from Basis End,
We have tried changing the SAP scipt and additoinal Print parameters for this print changed " Horiziontal and Vertical Shift " and we restarted the printer ever we change , and this dont make the Form Better,
Any suggestions are appriceiated

when i print a report it print main window data on same page .
i.e. if data is more then one page then it shows data page wise on computer screen but when i print it print all data on same only one page by over wrriting .
pl. help why it is happening
i create page in page i set next page and in second page give first page.

copy the first page to second page.
now.
for 1st page: next page is : page2
for page2: next page is also : page2

Laserjet 1018 both side printing WinXp SP2 problem

Hello I hope this is the right section for posting this , if not I apologise in advance. I run WinXp SP2 with a Laserjet 1018 printer installed and I need to print a document with 2 pages per sheet and I used the Print on both sides option (to save paper). When the first half of the print job is done the warning led (with the exclamation mark) goes on and I don't get the continue option (mentioned in the manual). i have tried reinstalling the drivers but with no luck. I can do normal print jobs with no problem though.

You can try running the following utility at the link below. It sounds like a network issue since you are able to print fine when you give the users admin rights.

Both Side Printing in HP printer photosmart 5510

I have a Macbook running on lion 10.7.3 and i can't figure out how to print on both sides of the paper in my hp photosmart 5510 printer. Is there no driver that I can download so that the printer does it automatically ? I'm confused I think it is such a waist of paper if you can't print on both sides.

The Photosmart 5510 hardware does not provide Automatic Duplex functionality as you may find listed by the spec below:

Manual duplexing can be done by any of the methods below:
Method one: Perform manual print duplexing using the Page to Print setting:

Both Side Prints

Dear Gurus,
Right no in SAP we take Purchase order printouts. This prints comes on single page only.
Can anything be done to print matter on both sides. We have printer capable of double side prints

Have you defined printers in SAP and using them.
If so you can maintain this setting for the printers created in SAP
In the Output attributes tab of the Output devices you need to maintain the print mode as duplex: Print on both sides.
If you are using a default printer, then set the settings in the Local default printer and set the print mode to Default: Printer default setting.
SPAD is the transaction for doing these changes, usually maintained by BASIS person, you can take help of them

Duplex printing first form - both sides

I've tried to locate the answer to my issue in the mix ... point me to the answer if I missed it under someone else's question.
We just got a new printer that has duplex capability. We would like to use this capability and I am converting a two ifd's to one with two pages. The first page has some dynamic data and the second doesn't have any dynamic data. The printer is duplexing but we only get the first page.
The only error in the Central log is the $POSITION field is missing (I assumed from the second page so I added it). No better. I don't see this new printer under presentment targets but since the printer is actually duplexing I'm thinking it is the form or dat file. I added to a test dat file a field to the non-dynamic data and attempted to 'call' the next form. What am I missing?

We're doing invoices where we print Terms & Conditions (which is a static subform) on flip side of page 1 (i.e. duplex) and then print the rest of the document without duplex.
I'm controlling this within the preamble by adding "^duplex on" at the top and the dynamic page 1 causes a page break I call the T&C subform and then use this
^define group:PAGETWO \page1,"duplex off"\group[NEXTGROUP].
to call next dynamic page.

Smart form problem when printing header in table

Hi Friends,
I am facing some problem in smartform. In my smartform there is a table - where I should print "Header" at each start of line items and also at page break. So, I checked both the check boxes in Header as "Start of table" and "Page break".
Now the problem is in main window - it is printing Header and line items are coming. After finished Again the header is coming and line items are coming. In some cases - What is happenning is: If the first page ends at the header only - Header is getting printed in the first page and the page ends here. In the next page also "Header is appearing because i checked page break". So, it is appearing twice.
Could someone please guide me on this issue.

Hi,
At any case the two headers will not be displayed if you select the both "start of table" and "at page break.". Please check whether there is another widow in the form from where the header is displaying.

Problem in printing Border in Smart Form in DMP printer

Im facing the same issue in my Smartform . When the user prints through ALV it prints the border ,
But if we use the same printer for Smartform it does not print the borders in Dot Matrix .
I did increase the width from 15 TW to 30 TW but even then the Table Border is not printing .
Can someone please help me with the same

I believe, Dot Matrix printer is for pre-printed Docs, so except charaters in the form, nothing will be printed, where as in case of laser printer, A4 paper is nt a pre-printed format.
I think this might be the case in ur issue.

Both side printing problem

I use Jasper in Swing applications as a means for generating reports.
When generating multiple pages report I set in the Printer Options "Print on boht sides/ Landscape" (rotation of the page along the left border of the paper).
Jasper prints on two sides with rotation along the upper side of the paper. And on the contrary, when asking to print along the upper side, it rotates the text along the left side.
I checked the printer driver by specifying the same parameters when printing Word documents. Everything works correctly in this case, and the rotation is performed through the desired part of the paper.
Would somebody please help me?

understanding your question correctly, i assume you want to start the instances of your main repeating frame always on an odd page (e.g. 1,3,5,7,9) resulting in printing on the facing page in duplex printing.
you can do this by putting an object on the beginning of your block (e.g. a white line) and create a format trigger, that shows this object only on even pages. then you specify the page-break before property.
what happes is, that the first object that is formatted on the first page of each repeating-frame instance will be this object. if it happens to be on an even page (back of the physical sheet of paper), the object is formatted but before that a page-break is performed, hence the object will end up an an odd page (=facing side of the physical sheet of paper). in case your instance happens to be formatted onto an odd page, the object is not formatted and the page-break is not performed.
