Check output types in NACE tcode...
Sample example,
Goto Transaction NACE --> Select Application V1(Sales) --> Click on Output Types --> Select the output type as BA00 (as generally BA00 is the output type associated with Sales Order ) --> Double click on the Processing Routines folder on the left and it will display the Form name and the corresponding driver programs name.

SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe will be used more and more as a way of simplifying and automating manual processes.

SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe provides all the features and functions you need to create form-based output, such as order confirmations, invoices, or pay slips. You can either print such documents or send them by email or FAX.
Online Interactive Forms
A user logs on to the company intranet to fill in a form required by the HR department (for example, a Non-Disclosure Agreement to be signed by a new employee). The form is displayed in the browser.
As the user is logged on in the background to the company's HR system, his master data is displayed in the form. The user enters the required information in the fillable fields of the interactive form, and sends the data back to the system by pushing a button. The system extracts the data from the form and saves it in the database.
Offline Interactive Forms
The purchasing department of a company creates a bid in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and selects the potential vendors. Based upon this data, the system automatically creates interactive bidding forms with specific vendor information, such as the address or contact person.
The forms are transmitted to the vendors by email. The vendors can fill out the forms offline (without being connected to the system that created the forms) and transmit them back to the company. Smart form variable Prob.

I hav a z report connected to smart form for printing. i hav main page and other windows too. on main page, Items are displayed with qty, disc., price. And on other window I m displaying Total qty, at bottom grand total of all above Items. Qty on main page is displayed in xx.000 format but at bottom window it shows in xx,000 format. why comma is there in place of dot.
similar problem with total field. If on main it shows xx.23 then it shows correctly xx.23 on bottom, But if on main there is xx.00, thn it only shws xx at bottom window.
How do I get the right outputs?
Also while activating the Form, its shows error mrssage with list of variable like :
Field variable_1 has no defined value.
the form runs fine thn why this is comming?

Hello Khan,
Normally in currecy fields the "Field variable_1 has no defined value" appears and it can be avoided by giving a "default value to be 0 (zero)" in Form interface or in Global definitions wherever it is defined.

Text element not gettin refreshed in smart form

Hi
Text element does not get refreshed in the smart form preview.
I have a selection screen on which i have a few selection parameters and three application
toolbar buttons. "Save" , "Preview" and "Print". At the end of selection screen I have a
button "text" which when clicked takes me to the text element editor(FM 'TEXT_EDIT' )
I have to enter a project number on the selection screen, enter all other details and
then click on the "Text" button. I would then change /edit some text etc and come back
to sel screen. Now i click on preview , the smart form shows up and the text gets dispalyed
with the modified text.
I am passing the text name by appending "sometext" + project number to the TEXT_EDIT
and while eiditing and as a parameter to the smart form. In the smart form i have given the variable in the "include text".
Now Herez the problem.
I am still in selection screen and clik on the "text" button and it takes me to the
text editor. Now i add more lines, save and come back. Now i clik on preview
button and it displays the old text data.
When i come out of the transaction and renter , clik on the preview it displays data
correctly. Now if i repeat the steps
1.edit text button , add a few lines
2.preview button, shows data as entered in step 1.
3.edit text button, add few more lines
4.preview button .. the text displays is from step 1 and not 3.
I am not sure if this is lot of info for anybody to write an answer straight away but
if u need more info i can provide. I can do a read_text in the smart form but its toooooo
much of a pain for the data i need to display. million adjustments to be taken care of.
What could be the problem ? I have given all the basic settings like save parameter
in edit_text fm , checked all the print preview options in sdn.
Here are my questions
1. Why is the text element not getting refreshed.
2. After a form is displayed for preview , will it store anywhere in the buffer ? if yes
is there any method to clear it ?

The problem is not with text elements, it might be your size of window which you are using to display the text elements. Check your window size and modify that accordingly.

Wat's d purpose of NACE?I hav created my own print program n smart form according to my own requirement.If NACE is necessary 4 my smart from.How can i use NACE i mean navigation steps.

Hi Santhosh,
Nace is for message control settings. Say if u want to trigger a Smartform or an Idoc or any other customized program u can do the message control settings.
Say at the time of Sales Order creation or updation u want to trigger a Smartform, then u have to follow the following steps:
Goto NACE
Select application V1 and then click Output Type.
create a new Output type or copy the existing one abd save it with new name
then in Processing Routine Mention the driver program name and in Form routine mention the main subroutine name.
In Smartform mention your SMartform name and also the layout if u have ceated.
Again go to NACE and Select application V1 and press Procedures.
here out of the many procedures u have to select the right one and attach your Output Type to it.
You can also create a condition record..Say if u want to trigger this Smartforms for Sales Order of particular type.

i have copied a driver programe of outbound delivery and modified in such a way the layout will convert to pdf and then download to pc, but the driver program is not executing online, so do i need to attache the driver program name and form name in nace t.code or how would i execute the program, when i am placing a break point in driver program and execute form its not stopping at break point, i am new to forms, help me out in this.

Make sure that the output type you are using is configured for your custom-copied program name, form routine, and the form you are using. The output types can be found in transaction NACE.

Hi Manisha,
It is looking very strange. But still try to do following may be helpfull.
1. First activate your smart form after declaring the variable in Global definition. Then try to drag n drop from Field list
2. Or else click on Editor tab of Text node, Then Goto-> change editor (You will get a editor same as Sapscripts)
put the variable like that:
HT : &W_TOTAL-MASSG&

How to display the data from a internal table in a smart form.
I want each record to be displayed in seperate page.

Do this ,
in the main window - open a loop on your internal table ,
within the loop open the text and give the output fields,
after this text use the Command node and in this set the next page as page1,
so when the loop gets executed its first record will be on the first page and the second record will be on the next page and so on ..

How to print BAR code in SMART Form

Hi All,
I have the requirement to print BAR CODE in Smartforms.
For this, I create a character format with Bar code in style forms and create a text element in Smart form and associate bar code character format with this text element.
Now when I look the print preview for the data, then it shows me data in bar code format but not in right format i.e. its shows me all the similar block in bar code.
If you look the bar code in SAP script, its always show you bar code with similar block, but in SMART FORM it will show you exact bar code; as in SAP Script, bar code is generated at printer end and in SMARTFORM bar code is generated as graphic in SAP and then sent to printer for print.
PLease let me know, why in SMARTFORM its not showing BAR CODE in correct format in print preview.

To Create a Bar code prefix:
1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
<C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.

A barcode solution consists of the following:
- a barcode printer
- a barcode reader
- a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. How to delete a line in smart forms

Hi all
i have data in my itab in following format

i have to print data from col month to 7 in main area of the table in smart forms but it shows the 3rd line as well(an empty extra line) . is there any way that i may be able to delete or truncate third line ? as i have to print total below some where.

i have a solution to ur question.
well u only want to print a line in the smartform Main window table if u have data in the first field of ur internal table lets take name as T_FINAL.
So u want to print lines in Smartform if T_Final-Field1 (which for month) is not empty.
For this go to the Condition tab of the Line (ROW) inside ur MAIN AREA In TABLE which must be there in any window probably in the Main window.
Double click on the Line (ROW) in MAIN AREA, It will contain 2 tabs Output option and Condition.
Click On condition and write under FIELD NAME the field of ur internal table WA u r using in TABLE for eg T_Final-Field1 if its Internal table with header line or if u r using a separate Work area use the work area like WA_Final-FIELD1, then click on the Square button just in front of it to select an RELATIONAL OPERATOR , put there the RELATIONAL OPERATOR as "Not Equal to" and in the comparison value column write a space quoted with single quotation as ' '.
After u do this any line encountered with its first field of WA_FINAL i.e wa_final-field1as empty wont be printed.
This Reloves ur issue.

In Page4, how to get that view on left side, becuase when i create a Table, it showing Header,Main Area & Footer. where as in demo slide its different
and when i click 'Data' Tab for Table Properties, in the First Box 'LOOP loop', its showing Operand, where as in demo slide its Internal Table..
Maybe something is missing(some steps) in slides and fist of all i am new to SmartForms as well.. suggest me how to proceed.. or if anybody have better document, please suggest me.

Smart Form - operator not followed by value

in smart form --> Global definition --> initialization
i have written this code....
select belnr gjahr bukrs blart bldat budat waers into corresponding fields of
table tbkpf from bkpf where
bukrs = ubukrs and gjahr = ugjahr and budat in ubudat.
Here cmp code and fiscal year is parameter but posting date is select-options.
Its gives error :- The IN operator with "BUDAT" is followed neither by an internal table nor by a value list.
i have taken input parameters also.

select-options should be handled in a different manner in smart forms.
declare 2 variable say
1) budat_low
2) budat_high.
Pass the low value of posting date to budat_low and high value of posting date to budat_high.
then handle the above 2 variables in select query using BETWEEN.
eg: budat between budat_low and budat_high.

How to print a smart form in two diff languages runtime

1. Create two different Smartforms
2. In Form Atributes Option -->General Attributes -->Language Tab -- there is a Optiona to select a Particular Language.( To select Language) there select the EN for 1st optin and ES for Spanish, Normally it will be in To all Language.
3. Create a report with Radiobutton (bz Check Box have an attributes to check both the Options)
 when option1 = 'EN'.
 call form1 with EN language
when option2 = 'ES'.
 call forms 2 with ES Language.
