Importing preconfig'd smart forms in ECC 6.0

I've done some searching, but wanted to see if anybody had a better solution.. it looks like you have to load the best practices baseline package in order to get the preconfigured smart forms in ECC 6.0. Is there ANY way to avoid having to do this and just be able to load the forms? Can you use the .SAR from the 4.7 preconfig CD on a 6.0 system or will that spell disaster?

I've gotten to that point, but at this time I have the 6.0 (2.600) best practices installation files, and the 4.70 smartforms installation files... however the first requires a best practices installation, and the second is a .SAR file which I believe can be loaded with SAINT/SPAM.
What I am trying to figure out is if there's a way to just extract the forms themselves out of the package so they can be uploaded rather than having to go through the prereq's for best practices and deal with the slew of OSS notes associated.

Preconfigured Smart Forms for ECC 6

Hi
Can any one tell me if there are any pre configured Smart Forms available for ECC6. I searched in Service market palce but found that preconfigured Smartform are available for ECC 5 but not for ECC6.
Also can u tell me if Adobe document services or PDF forms are available free for customers or there is any license required to use them for ECC6?

Error in calling/converting smart form from ECC to pdf in portal.

Hi,
We have a requirement in our project where we have to show IT form in portal exactly in the way payslip are shown in ESS
Screen, that is in the pdf form in ess portal screen.
For this my HR abap consultant has made one customize smart form which is being called from a RFC FM.
After the FM lf_fm_name gets executed , the OTF data is being captured and then converted in to PDF.
After that the PDF is then converted into XSTRING format which is then supplied to the portal side through export parameter
of the RFC.
Now when we debugged the RFC, the conversion is taking place perfectly fine in to XSTRING.This is wat we assume.
Portal Side: I have used Iframe ui ELEMENT in my webdynpro java and its property source I have binded with a value attribute
of type string and I am executing above customize RFC given to me by my HR abap consultant and after executing that RFC with
userID and payroll year as its import parameter I am taking export parameter of that RFC with name pdf_string of type XSTRING
of that RFC into my webdynpro java value attribute which i binded to source property of Iframe.
Now when we see the output in portal , first of all pdf is not getting generated and its showing the error message:
file does not begin with '%pdf-' and secondly errored Adobe form getting opened outside Iframe window its not coming within
Iframe window like what payslip comes inside Iframe UI element.
I want to know what mistake we are doing in our ABAP coding or portal coding.

Smart Forms and BI report

Hi Experts,
I want to know whether we can call a BI report into a Smart Form in ECC. I mean can we populate the fields of the smart form with the contents of the BI report.

Smart form Addon after Upgrade to ECC 6 EHP4

Hi,
I have succesfully upgraded my system from R/3 4.7 EXT 1 to ECC 6 EHP4.
During upgrade i had to delete Pre configured smart forms Addon ( According to note 572392 ) .
Since we are on EHP4 and no smart forms configured we are not able to print.
The latest pre configured smart form addon ( Best Practice all in one) available is for EHP3.
Please let me how to proceed with this situation as there may be other compaines who are on EHP4 and use pre configured smart forms.

Hi,
As a functional consultant, we are not going to do much with the smart forms. The smart forms will be developed by the technical team and it will be attached to the PO output type.
To view the link please follow the following the steps.
1. Execute NACE transaction code
2. Select EF for purchase order
3. Select Output types below the status bar
4. Select output type as NEU, in our system if you customized a output type, you can select that
5. Select Processing routines at the left control panel.
6. Where you can see the Medium of Print output is linked to either form or the smart form.
If it is blank speak with your technical team for assigning the same.

How to get the PO no in the smart form and in the print program from ME23N

I am new to smart form printing.I want to make a smartform along with print program that will show PO Details.It has to be created as an o/p type in ME23N. I have created an o/p type ZPO using NACE ..Can some one tell me how to get the PO number in the smart form and in the print program from ME23N ,so that I can then program the necessary calculations?plz help me with the code.Thanks in advance.

I searched and found that IN ECC 6 , we have to install OSS notes .

Creating a Purchase Order Smart Form (Form Interface)

After reading up on all the posts about making a PO smart form I know this:
- An SAP script "medruck" is the current output
- A smartform exists for PO's named "/SMB40/MMPO_L" or "/SMB40/MMPO_A"
- You need to install an update to get those smartforms if you are using ECC 6.0
So my dilemma is that the SAP administrator is on vacation for a week, so I can't install the update to our system. I'm trying to just create it from scratch using the medruck SAP script as a reference, but I am a little confused.
Basically all I need to know is what form interface parameters do I pass in? Meaning how do I find out what structures and tables are imported into the function module when print preview is called from t-code ME22N? Can you please provide proper syntax for form interface solution or instructions on how to determine imported variables into the smartform?

If the smartform purchase order is not available in your system
means you can download the form IDES and you can upload the form in ur ecc 6.0 system.we faced a similar kind of problem in our system and we did as i said.
Once you uploaded the things you can easily view the form interface and rest of the things related to smartforms.

How to display the text as a Bold in the Text Element of a Smart Form

Hi,
I created one Smart Form.
In that i created the Text element.
I provide some data also in that.
It is coming as a MS WORD.
I executed my smart form.
Customer Number: &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&
it display the data of the particular customer.
But i need to display the Customer Number as BOLD or else Increase the Size.
For this also I created one SMARTSTYLE.
In that I created the Paragraph and Character Formats also.
Now i assignee that SMARTSTYLE in the Output Option Tab of the Text Element also.
But i unable to get the CUSTOMER NUMBER in Bold.
In MS WORD we have BOLD button.
I selected the Text and Press the BOLD button. At that time it is Highlighted.
Whenever i press the SAVE Button.
Then it is not saved with BOLD.
It is coming in Normal Format.
In the ECC 6.0. I am unable to get the Text as a BOLD.
This text Element is like a MS WORD.
Can you please tell me how to display the Data with BOLD. please tell me. I am unable to get that one.

Hi,
Check where u have given BOLD. In character Format or in Paragraph format.
In SMART FORM,
1. Change to OLD EDITOR if u are confused with the new one.
        (This can be done by clicking the button left to new editor ).
2. If it is PARAGRAPH FORMAT,
           Give the name of paragraph format in the editor.
            P1         &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&
    If it is CHARACTER FORMAT,
                         <C1> &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&

Activation of smart form

Hi friends,
When i am activating d smart form it is taking too much time for activation.when I will copy one standard smart form and activating it is getting activated immediately.For Zsmartforms it is taking more time and some times it is going in to dump.Smart form check showing correct.Only problem with activation......
Plz suggest me what may be the problem and how to resolve it.

Hi farook,
We also experienced the same problem in our ECC 6.0 Server, then we got the problem solved by applying a patch recommended by SAP. So ask your BASIS to raise a Customer Support Message to SAP and apply the patch.
The main symptom of our problem is whenever we create a smartform it will get activate for the first time, then if we do even a little change and try to activate again it wont and end with a timeout error.

Output in Customer Language for Service Dispatch Note Smart form

We have upgraded from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0.
After the upgrade we are facing an issue in some of our Service related smart forms.
The version of the driver program is same in both the systems and the smart form is also same.
The customer's language is maintained in Customer Master data.
In the un-upgraded system, the forms were printed in the Customer language according to what is maintained in the customer master data.
But after the upgrade, in the new system, the form is being printed in English as opposed to the Customer language in the older system.
As I have already mentioned above, in both the systems, the driver program, smart form and Customer Language in the customer master data are similar.
Kindly suggest me the solution if anyone has faced a similar problem.

Hi, Actually I have checked in debugging and have come to know that during the upgrade, when I have downloaded the form from ECC 5.0 and uploaded it to ECC6.0, the Language option in the general attributes tab of the text modules is blank and hence the form is displayed in English only.
Is there any way that I can get the smartform uploaded as it is in the earlier system?

Driver program for the Smart form

Hi all.
I have an issue in smart forms.
we are implementing RE(Real Estate) module with the version ECC 6.0.
In the RE ,for printing the forms.I know the name of the SMART form only.
how can i know the corresponding Driver program.

Hi,
You can get your driver program name from tnapr table but some are also configured from others way also.
Try this will work in any case.
Open your Smartform then execute.
Then function module name is displayed
Open function module and put a break point on first executable statement.
May be break point on statement like
CLEAR DOCUMENT_OUTPUT_INFO.
After giving breakpoint trigger your Smartform for printing in fresh session then it will stop in debug mode then in call tab you can see your driver program name.
