Smart Form translation via SE63 not possible

I want to translate Smart forms from English to French, but when doing so via SE63, I get a codepage error.
We don't have language Fr installed in our system.
Is this a prerequisite or is there another way to translate the smartform?

Smart Form translation

I have a Smart Form with original language EN, and several translated languages not including RU. I need to add the Russian translation. I got into SE63 and called up the form by name under Translation, Long texts, SAPscript, Smart Forms. I got message SKTY 213 "Invalid codepage for language Russian". So then I tried logging on in Russian and doing the same thing. This time I got message SKTU 201 "[form name] does not contain any text".
So my question is: How can I get into the split screen translation editor on a Smart Form to add a target language doesn't exist in the form yet, and that is a different code page from the one used with an English SAP session? Is there a way to copy all the English text elements into a new Russian version, and then just type Russian contents over each one?

Adobe Offline Form - Parse method is not possible for this type

Hi All,
I have developed an application for the offline scenario of interactive adobe form. I tried to load the adobe form from my desktop. After pressing the button "Display form" it throws an error "Parse method is not possible for this type".
If I include wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("pdfObject").getModifiableSimpleType() in the doInit() method of the view I receive this error -
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: MappedAttributeInfo(UploadView.pdfObject): must not modify the datatype of a mapped attribute
When I comment it out and upload I receive the error enclosed -
Parse method is not possible for this type
Can someone please help me with a step by step solution to this problem?

     ISimpleTypeModifiable type = attInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
     IWDModifiableBinaryType binaryType = (IWDModifiableBinaryType)type;
Try putting the code in wdInit() or wdDoModifyView().

Smart form -Right Alignment is not coming properly

Hi Folks,
While Printing Smart form for Invoice ,using right aligned Paragraphs texts are not coming properly.....but using left aligned paragraphs text are coming proporly....we want both left aligned and right aligned in same table ...for print preview it showing fine but while taking the print out it comes like this

Adobe Form Translation with SE63

Hi all,
I need to translate some fixed text that I've in my AdobeForm Layout. I followed word by word what is suggested in the official guide ( http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/8b/4f52cc3b104d0585e2f0ad354fb029/frameset.htm ) but when I save my modifications in the SE63 editor I get this warning message:
"Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted):"
and my translation is not saved. Can anyone help me?

and saved the object already. My question is that when will this Russian form be displayed? when the program is run in an environment where language = 'RU'?
What if I have to display the russian form if VBRK-WAERK(currency) = 'KZT' ?

Launchpad translation in EHP not possible

Hi all
I need to translate the new ESS overview page based on WDA (EHP5). Technically, what I need to translate, is a copy of the MENU instance (original role = ESS), and I do the following:
1) Go to TCode LPD_CUST, open my launchpad and clicks Launchpad > Textkey from the menu.
2) The I get a popup that says: All texts start with: LP*
3) If I click on the question mark, I get a long explanation:

Diagnosis
You want to translate the texts in the launchpad (folder names, link texts and descriptions that are displayed in the portal under the relevant links).
Procedure
1. If you have not yet transported the launchpad, you first have to include the texts in a workbench transport request.
This means the texts are stored as General Texts (TX) with the prefix "LP*".
2. In the Easy Access menu, choose Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Utilities -> Translation -> Short and Long Texts (SE63).
3. You then choose Translation -> ABAP Objects -> LongTexts (Documentation).
You branch to the dialog box Object Type Selection.
4. Expand the node C6 F1 Help and double-click on TX General Texts.
5. To select the text, enter "LP**" in the field Object Name and "999999" as the Translation Area.
The problem is now that I am not able to find anything that looks like "LP**" in SE63 > Long Texts (Documentation) > F1 Help TX General Texts. So I am not able to find anything to translate.
Can someone please guide me in the right direction?

I am facing the same problem as Martin does:
What I did is the following:
LPD_CUST, Role ESS Instance MENU (Employee Self Service): Here I added a customer folder to this launchpad with german text and german description. I now want to translate these texts to English as well.
I implemented both sap notes mentioned in this thread (1581053 + 1597603).
I ran report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS for the ESS Launchpad. It displays the texts I added (object names are all beginning with LX*). I have the same problem like Martin that I cannot find those texts within SE63. I even can't find them in table TADIR.
However I can find the SAP standard texts (object names all beginning with LEH) that are displayed by report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS in SE63 and in table TADIR. How can I find/translate the LX texts as well?

Adobe form translation changes do not work for second time

Hi Team,
i am translating adobe form from EN to TR and it was successful for first time and all the changes were working correctly then again i have translated all the texts and checked however then it was only translating fields which were translated in first try.
I am really confused and please help me here i am not really sure what exactly to do .

There is nothing to delete. Here is what you should do:
Following procedure applies to both symptoms:
1. Open the corresponding form in the original language in change mode in Form Builder
2. Choose the Layout tab of Form Builder to open the form layout in Adobe Designer.
3. Identify and select the concerned text element in the layout so that it will be highlighted in the hierarchy tree of the Adobe Designer
4. Go to the XML Source tab of the Adobe Designer
              The XML source shows the section of the selected form element.
     5. Go to the appropriate <exData/> element and delete the occurrence of attributes
     xft-xliff:id or xliff:rid
6. Leave the XML source tab and save the changes.
7. Activate the form.

IPhone calls via Mac not possible: I can't make phone calls on my Mac (via iPhone) although I am able to receive and accept those from others.

I can't make phone calls on my Mac (via iPhone) although I am able to receive and accept those from others.
I have activated all relevant options in FaceTime (either on the iPhone or Mac) but without success.
Mac > Yosemite 10.10
iPhone (5) > iOS 8.1
After trying a call via the iPhone in the "Message App" on my Mac - it says "iPhone and Mac must be in the same network"...
They definitely are... also I have logged in with the same Apple-ID's, etc.
Can anybody help?

Are there any settings which are fundamental on the iPhone, I have activated:
- iCloud Drive
- FaceTime (FaceTime and iPhone Mobile Calls activated)
The only strange thing - on Yosemite I can activate mobile phone number AND email in FaceTime whereas I can activate just my email in the FaceTime app on my iPhone...

Send mail via WLAN not possible

Whenever I try to send mails while being connected via WLAN, Apple Mail tells me that it cannot connect to the relevant smtp server opening a window to choose another one.
This is NOT happening when I am connected to the web to the SAME NETWORK or any other network but just via cable.
When I try to send mails while being connected to the web using my Vodafone UMTS card the same happens.
I always use the same mail accounts and settings thererof.
Receiving mails is no problem, browsing the web no problem.
Any idea

Most if not all ISPs used for connecting to the internet block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network (or not provided by the ISP) on Port 25 which is the most common and default port used for all SMTP servers.
Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only (such as the .Mac and AOL SMTP servers) on Port 25 but some block its use regardless.
This is entirely left up to an controlled by the ISP used for connecting to the internet at the time.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed settings.
Test if this resolves the problem which it should since you are able to send messages with your AOL account and authenticated SMTP server which also used Port 587 for the Server Port.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your AOL account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below to confirm the AOL authenticated SMTP server is using 587 for the Server Port.

Streaming via 3G not possible?

I thought (but didn’t check) that one of the benefits of Match would be that I could stream my entire music collection to my iOS 6 iPhone any place any time anywhere so long as I had WiFi or 3G connectivity. It will stream or download by WiFi, and it will download via 3G (with the usual ‘charges may apply’ warning), but it won’t stream by 3G. Pick an album and unless I’ve previously downloaded it, the song-titles are ghosted out. Am I doing something wrong or does Match just not stream over 3G?

Found it! You've got to enable Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Use Mobile Data

Smart Card based ssl connection not possible with SunPKCS11 Provider?

We use jsse connections with file based Pkcs12 Keystores for longer time.
Now we d'like to replace these .p12 files with SmartCards.
While the jsse 5 reference guide suggests:
"To use a Smartcard as a keystore or trust store, set the javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType and javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType system properties, respectively, to "pkcs11", and set the javax.net.ssl.keyStore and javax.net.ssl.trustStore system properties, respectively, to NONE. To specify the use of a specific provider, use the javax.net.ssl.keyStoreProvider and javax.net.ssl.trustStoreProvider system properties (e.g., "SunPKCS11-joe"). By using these properties, you can configure an application that previously depended on these properties to access a file-based keystore to use a Smartcard keystore with no changes to the application."

Export via markers not possible

Hi,
The situation: a 50 minute live track of a band, in the multitrack view I have 2 stereo tracks with some effects.
I added a dozen range markers for the songs. in the Markers list they appear with correct start, end and duration. I named them after the songs. (the markers are Range markers, NOT point markers)
Then when I select all markers in the markers list, the option File->Export->Audio within range markers is still grayed out.
Also the 4th and 5th icon in the marker list stay gray ("insert selected range markers in playlist" and "export audio of selected ranges into separate files")
I know this should work, i did this before, but now it won't. I know back then i had to do an aditional action to activate the menu, but stupid me forgot to jot that down somewhere...
Can anyone give a hint?

1. Create a new File under top menu New then Multitrack Session
2. Import your .mp3 or .wav audio file or record you audio track
3. Drag your audio file from File window to Track 1
4. Locate the Markers window (panel) from Window then select Markers
5. In the top play range (scrubber) add a new marker by selecting M or use icon on marker window
6. Right click to convert to range marker, drag ends to create the range
7. Create, convert to range, then drag ends for as many mark ranges as you need
8. Select all markers then merge selected markers using comb icon (3rd from left) in Marker panel
9. Under top menu under Multitrack then to Mixdown Session to new File then Entire Session
10. In this Mixdown file, you can edit your clips and add effects or delete dead space
11. Shift select all marker ranges in that session
12. Export audio to separate files using 5th icon from left in marker window

PDF force download via jsp not possible in IE ??????????????

          I am providing a jsp page which when displayed will prompt the user to Open or Save or Cancel on a PDF file. For some reason, the code is not working in Internet Explorer. Its working in Opera, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox. But not working in IE. However, in my organisation, only IE is used. Therefore its paramount that it works in IE. Pls help me.

          The problem is as follows:
          The name of the jpf that forwards the requet to the jsp is DownloadPDFController.jsp and the url in IE comes as http://localhost:8053/downloads/DownloadPDFController.jpf
          Now, when this jpf runs and the control comes to the jsp, the pop-up box comes with three options Open, Save and Cancel. But the name of the file to be saved is not the PDF file but the jpf file that is displaying the file.
          This means that what actually is happening is that , the pop download box is coming with the name DownloadPDFController.jpf. I cant understand why its trying to save the JPF.
          The funny bit is that this happens only in IE and not in any other browser.
          Please help !!

What is SAP Smart Forms?
SAP Smart Forms is introduced in SAP Basis Release 4.6C as the tool for creating and maintaining forms.
SAP Smart Forms allow you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools; in 90% of all cases, this won't include any programming effort. Thus, a power user without any programming knowledge can configure forms with data from an SAP System for the relevant business processes.
To print a form, you need a program for data retrieval and a Smart Form that contains the entire from logic. As data retrieval and form logic are separated, you must only adapt the Smart Form if changes to the form logic are necessary. The application program passes the data via a function module interface to the Smart Form. When activating the Smart Form, the system automatically generates a function module. At runtime, the system processes this function module.
You can insert static and dynamic tables. This includes line feeds in individual table cells, triggering events for table headings and subtotals, and sorting data before output.
You can check individual nodes as well as the entire form and find any existing errors in the tree structure. The data flow analysis checks whether all fields (variables) have a defined value at the moment they are displayed.

A Simple Smartform Tutorial
SAP Smartforms can be used for creating and maintaining forms for mass printing in SAP Systems. The output medium for Smartforms support printer, fax, e-mail, or the Internet (by using the generated XML output).

Additional Fonts for your SMARTFORMS
You can create additional fonts and style with transaction SMARTSTYLES
This can then be define in the paragraph and character formats, which you can then be assign to texts and fields in the Smart Form.
The character formats includes effects such as superscript, subscript, barcode and font attributes.
Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3. You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format. In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform. From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk.   When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.
FAQ on Migrating SAPscript to SmartForms
Is it possible to migrate a SAPscript form to a Smart Form?
Smart Forms provides a migration tool for this purpose which migrates layout and texts of a SAPscript form to a Smart Form. It does not migrate SAPscript form logic of the print program. Using Smart Forms, this logic is described by the tree structure of the Form Builder. The effort involved in migrating it depends on the complexity of the print program.
Which Basis Release do I need to use SAP Smart Forms?
SAP Smart Forms is available as of R/3 Basis Release 4.6C.
I have heard that Smart Forms replaces SAPscript. What does "replace" mean?
It does not mean that SAPscript is removed from the Basis shipment. Even as of Basis Release 4.6C, SAPscript remains part of the SAP standard and there are no plans to remove it. Since Smart Forms is currently, and will continue to be, the tool for form maintenance for mySAP.com solutions, our further development efforts will focus on Smart Forms, not on SAPscript.
Do we have to migrate all SAPscript forms to Smart Forms?
There is no point in migrating all SAPscript forms already in use. Since SAPscript can still be used and will be available in the future, there is no need to. If you plan to migrate a SAPscript form, it is recommended that you check whether benefit is worth the effort involved
Conversion of SAPSCRIPT to SMARTFORMS
SAP provides a conversion for SAPscript documents to SMARTforms.
This is basically a function module, called FB_MIGRATE_FORM. You can start this function module by hand (via SE37), or create a small ABAP which migrates all SAPscript forms automatically.
You can also do this one-by-one in transaction SMARTFORMS, under
Utilities -> Migrate SAPscript form.
You could also write a small batch program calling transaction SMARTFORMS and running the migration tool.
SmartForms System Fields
Within a form you can use the field string SFSY with its system fields. During form processing the system replaces these fields with the corresponding values. The field values come from the SAP System or are results of the processing.
System fields of Smart Forms
&SFSY-DATE&
Displays the date. You determine the display format in the user master record.
&SFSY-TIME&
Displays the time of day in the form HH:MM:SS.
&SFSY-PAGE&
Inserts the number of the current print page into the text. You determine the format of the page number (for example, Arabic, numeric) in the page node.
&SFSY-FORMPAGES&
Displays the total number of pages for the currently processed form. This allows you to include texts such as'Page x of y' into your output.

Contains the total page number of all forms in the currently processed print request.

Forcing a page break within table loop
Create a loop around the table. Put a Command node before the table in the loop that forces a NEWPAGE on whatever condition you want. Then only loop through a subset of the internal table (based on the conditions in the Command node) of the elements in the Table node.
Font style and Font size
Goto Transaction SMARTSTYLES.
There you can create Paragraph formats etc just like in sapscript.
Then in your window under OUTPUT OPTIONS you include this SMARTSTYLE and use the Paragraph and character formats.
Line in Smartform
Either you can use a window that takes up the width of your page and only has a height of 1 mm.
Then you put a frame around it (in window output options).
Thus you have drawn a box but it looks like a line.
Or you can just draw "__" accross the page and play with the fonts so that it joins each UNDER_SCORE.
Difference between 'forminterface' and 'global definitions' in global settings of smart forms
The Difference is as follows.
To put it very simply:
Form Interface is where you declare what must be passed in and out of the smartform (in from the print program to the smartform and out from the smartform to the print program).
Global defs. is where you declare data to be used within the smartform on a global scope.
ie: anything you declare here can be used in any other node in the form.
Smartforms function module name
Once you have activated the smartform, go to the environment -> function module name. There you can get the name of funtion module name.
The key thing is the program that calls it. for instance, the invoice SMARTFORM LB_BIL_INVOICE is ran by the program RLB_INVOICE.
This program uses another FM to determine the name of the FM to use itself. The key thing is that when it calls this FM (using a variable to store the actual name), that the parameters match the paramters in your smartform.
Another thing to note is that the FM name will change wherever the SF is transported to.
So you need to use the FM to determine the name of the SF.
Here is the code that can be use to determine the internal name of the function module:

It checks to see if the sf_label starts with a '/', which is how the internal names start. if it does, the name has already been converted. If not, it calls the FM and converts the name.
You would then CALL FUNCTION sf_label.

Smartforms output difference
Problem with Smartforms: in a certain form for two differently configured printers, there seem to be a difference in the output of characters per inch (the distance between characters which gives a layout problem - text in two lines instead of one.                                      It happens when the two printers having different Printer Controls' if you go to SPAD Menu (Spool Administrator Menu) you can see the difference in the Printer Control and if you make the Printer control setting for both the printers as same. then it will be ok. and also u have to check what is the device type used for both the output devices.
SmartForms Output to PDF
There is a way to download smartform in PDF format.
Please do the following:
1. Print the smartform to the spool.
2. Note the spool number.
3. Download a PDF file (Acrobat Reader) version of the spool by running Program RSTXPDFT4 and entering the noted spool number.
SmartForm Doublesided printing question Your customer wants your PO SmartForm to be able to print "Terms and Conditinos" on the back side of each page. They don't want to purchase pre-printed forms with the company's logo on the front and terms & conditions on the back. Now this presents an interesting problem.
Has anyone else ever had a request like this? If for example there was a 3 page PO to be printed, they want 3 pieces of paper, the front side of each to containe the PO information (page 1, 2, and 3) and the back side of each piece of paper to containg the static "Terms & Conditions" information.
Anyone have a clue how to force this out?
Easy - page FRONT lists page CONTACTS as next page and CONTACTS lists FRONT as next page. Since CONTACTS does not contain a MAIN window, it will print the contacts info and then continue on to FRONT for the rest of the main items. Additionally, set print mode on FRONT to D (duplex) and set CONTACTS to 'blank' (for both resource name and print mode - this is the only way to get to the back of the page).
Transport Smart Forms
How does one transport SMARTFORM? SE01?
How do you make sure that both, the SMARTFORM & it's function module gets transported? Or does the FM with same name gets generated automatically in the transported client?
A smartform is transported no differently than any other object. if it is assigned to a development class that is atteched to a transport layer, it will be transported.
The definition is transported, and when called, the function module is regenerated.
This leads to an interetsing situation. On the new machine, it is very likely the function module name will be different than the name on the source system. Make sure, before you call the function module, you resolve the external name to the internal name using the 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' function module.
Typically, generate the SF, then use the pattern to being in the interface. Then change the call function to use the name you get back from the above function module.
Smartforms: protect lines in main window.
How to protect lines in the main window from splitting between pages?
It was easy with SAPscript, but how to do it with SF's.   For 4.7 version if you are using tables, there are two options for protection against line break:
- You can protect a line type against page break.
- You can protect several table lines against page break for output in the main area.
Protection against page break for line types
- Double-click on your table node and choose the Table tab page.
- Switch to the detail view by choosing the Details pushbutton.
- Set the Protection against page break checkbox in the table for the relevant line type. Table lines that use this line type are output on one page.
Protection against page break for several table lines
- Expand the main area of your table node in the navigation tree.
- Insert a file node for the table lines to be protected in the main area.
- If you have already created table lines in the main area, you can put the lines that you want to protect again page break under the file using Drag&Drop. Otherwise, create the table lines as subnodes of the file.
- Choose the Output Options tab page of the file node and set the Page Protection option.   All table lines that are in the file with the Page Protection option set are output on one page.

Need inputs : PO Smart form Bulgaria language in SRM

Hi Experts,
I need a couple of suggestions and guide lines for PO print out Smart form.
We have requirement for PO, print out should print in Bulgaria language if the PO Vendors is from Bulgaria country.
And if the vendor is other than Bulgaria country then it should print in the English.
We have already a custom smart form (English)which we have assigned it in BADI for the PO Print output BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF.
Do we have to create 2 different smart forms? One is for Bulgaria vendors and other for non Bulgaria vendors.
And Do need to assign the 2 different smart forms in BADI based up on the vendor country?
If I enter the fixed text (like labels) in Bulgarian language then it will automatically will print in Bulgarian language?
And what I have to do dynamic text (which I will read from the print program input data or data base tables) ? Is there any way for the translation for these dynamic texts?
And I tried to put some labels in Bulgarian language in the smart form, but I am not able to see in those characters in the print preview in the portal. Its showing as some junk characters asu201D#u201D. But I am able to see in Spool (GUI, SP01). Is it because of the Bulgaria Language pack is not there in my system

Ok here´s how it works:
In standard logic the output type gets drawn in communication language of supplier.
so for a bulgarian supplier, with communication language Bulgarian the output type will get drawn in bulgarian.
This means the bulgarian form will get processed and in the form text will be drawn in bulgarian language as well if you stayed with standard logic and draw texts with NAST-SPRAS.
in your print program in the entry routine, not any entry routine but the one which is customized in TNAPR for this output type, place following coding:
if nast-spras NE 'BG'.
nast-spras = 'EN'.
endif.
that should do the whole job.
and NO you have absoluteley NO chance to handle this in the form.
If you arrived in the form you are already in a certain language and it too late to do what you want to.
