Smart guides and snap to point not working in Adobe Illustrator CC 2014

Hello,
I am having a lot of issues with Illustrator CC 2014 and the Smart Guides. Every time I try and snap one object to another or snap an object to a guide, the object snaps either above or below the guide/object but never snaps correctly. This also happens when I am zoomed in all the way!
I do not have align to pixel grid or snap to grid turned on.

It sounds as if Illy thinks the former.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Smart Guide/Snap to point not working

I am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images)
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centred
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference

So why does the minus front tool mess up alignment so much?
No clue. I believe this issue has never been reported.
At a first glance, it really looked like an Align to Pixel Grid issue, and also the fact that it works when both object widths have an odd (or even) number of pixels.
But that is apart from the fact that you stated that it was off. If it were on, Align to Pixel Grid would apply to the circle, to the rectangle, or to both.
Obviously, it is possible to (direct) select each and check. It is also possible to check the Y value of the centre for both in the Transform palette and see that they are actually identical before applying the Pathfinder.
And if on, Align to Pixel Grid should also affect/destroy the Object>Path>Divide Objects Below way. And it should make it impossible to even place both objects centre aligned when one is an odd number of pixels wide and the other is an even number wide.
As the issue is described, it may indicate some Pathfinder>Minus Front malfunctioning.
It may be worth trying some of the following things (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when it is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer;

Pdf and vector files will not open in Adobe Illustrator after Yosemite Update

I updated my OS on recommendation from apple. Pdf and vector files will not open in adobe illustrator now. Am i using the latest OS?

Freehand can't convert EPS files into editable vectors. I

EPS files through Illustrator and then into Frehand. If you

Illustrator you can convert the EPS into a PDF and that

Hello and thank you for posting back. What it sounds like is the cable that connects to the screen from the motherboard has either come loose or has a issue after the fall.
To fix this it would have to be opened up and the connections checked. If there is an issue with the cable then it would have to be replaced. This will require either you opening up the system yourself and checking the connections and tha cable or sending it in for repair.

HTML5 API - Heat Layer Points Not Working

Really weird issue this, and I am honestly at a loss to explain what's going on, so hopefully someone can spot my mistake!
I want to overlay a density-based heat map over a map of Britain, based on longitude/latitude points stored in OBIEE columns. I have copied and pasted some of the code (modifying it for my needs) from the SampleApp v406 "dynamic heat layer" demonstration.
My "showMap(darray)" function is what is responsible for building and displaying the map. darray in this case is an 2-dimensional array containing all the OBIEE data in [row number][column number] format which is fed in via a narrative view. Note that mapview, heatLayer and eventsLayer are global variables defined in the main script body. Below is the code:

I apologise for the code dump, but I thought it would be necessary to help troubleshoot.
My issue is that any layer using the "marker" style displays the points in the correct place, but the heat layer, which uses the "heatStyle" style, stacks all of its points at 0,0 which is somewhere just off the west coast of Africa! You'll notice the call to console.log(heatLayer), investigating this reveals that the correct GPS coordinates are being stored in the heat layer's feature array, it's just for some reason rendering them all at 0,0. This is what normally happens if you use an invalid SRID and it doesn't know where to put them on the map (if I change mpoint in addPoints() to use -1 as a SRID for example, then it does the same thing to the eventsLayer layer), but both layers use the same function. I have torn apart my code several times trying to understand why it's doing this, and compared it to the code in the SampleApp v406 demo and it's identical! The only difference is that I've modified getStyle() to return a static definition since I'm not allowing my users to modify the heat layer style. I've also got another visualisation with the same heat style definition and it works fine, though that is not based on a world-map but a custom one.
I've also tried clearing all caches, including the presentation layer and mapviewer server, as well as my browser's cache, and it's still not working.
EDIT: I have also discovered that any functions called from heatLayer, such as setVisible(true/false), produces a javascript error in oraclemapsv2.js "ReferenceError: layer is not defined", but only if the call is made OUTSIDE the showMap function. It looks like, for whatever reason, heatLayer works fine until showMap() is finished, and then it suddenly stops working? Remember that heatLayer is a global variable, so it is not a scope issue. What is going on?! Also, calling console.log(heatLayer) in the same function as my setVisible() call shows that heatLayer is still defined and still contains the same data, it's just that oraclemapsv2.js no longer recognises it. Is this a bug or something?
If anyone can identify what I've done wrong, I would be extremely grateful!

Can you post the create index command, as well as the contents of user_sdo_geom_metadata for the point layer?
Also, can you post the results of doing a select count(*) from the index table as well as select count(*) from the point table?

First, no, it is not showing orange. I checked the silent button immediately. Then I checked the sounds section of my settings, but all is good there. When I get a phone call, it rings fine. Alert and typing sounds are not working.
Second..., yes this was a technical point (in which I was hoping someone else might have had the same problem, with a solution), as well as a complaint (definitely one worth making as it is not a minor issue - it is important to hear text alerts when you have children).

Mobility between HREAP and NON HREAP does not work..

HREAP Local Switch and Auth has been enabled on SSID.
Indoor AP is in HREAP mode.
Outdoor AP does not support HREAP mode.
Client connects to indoor AP....continous PING breaks after client roams to outdoor AP. The state of the client is RUN.
Disable HREAP Local Auth and the issue goes away. Why?

Without HREAP config, you will not be able to do local-auth on the AP
The design guid says roam between a HREAP and non-HREAP will not work,

IPhoto and other iLife Apps not working

About a month ago I was having serious problems with my iMac. Ended up needing a new hard drive, so Apple sent it away, put in a new hard drive, and sent it back. I've had it for two weeks and am just now using some applications (probably should have checked everything when I got it back, oh well), and some iLife stuff and programs that come installed are not opening. I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11 FYI
What works: Mail, Safari, iChat, Address Book, Itunes, iMovie, iCal, Quicktime
What doesn't work: iPhoto, iDVD, Garageband, iWeb, Photo Booth
Just a note, iWeb is the only one that prompts me and tells me that I need to re-install iLife. When I went to download latest iLife update it told me there was nothing to update and I needed to reinstall iLife.
Also just went into the applications folder again and realized I have both Spaces and Time Machine installed, except they do not work with my OS, so I don't know why they are on there (when I try opening them just to see what would happen it says "does not work with your OS X). Also, Senuti and iPodRip also are not working, so anyone have any ideas as to programs that would let me get my music off my ipod and back on to the computer?
The programs that don't work just bounce out of dock once then go back down immediately, and do not open at all. I tried installing the software bundle package from my OS X install disk but while the install was seemingly successful it did not change anything. So AAGGHH what do I do???

I have the Core 2 Duo in the white case, released late 2006. Definitely have been running Tiger on it (just checked and I am running 10.4.11), sent it away, got it back, and just noticed that these programs don't work and I have programs native to Leopard inexplicably on the computer for some reason. I don't really want to remove them though cause I would like to have them on in case I have to go to the Apple Store so I can point it out to them and ask some questions about why Tiger (the OS installed on the computer) applications are not working while Leopard applications are installed even though they don't work and shouldn't be on there.

Sea water and electronics don't mix. The salinity fries the internal circuitry of the phone. Your phone is toast.
Certainly the user of any device which can be lost, stolen, or dropped in the sea would be smart enough to have had the data backed up, rght? Your photos and numbers should be safely backed up on your computer or in the cloud.
If you didn't do this, there's no way to recover those data now. Backups are meant to be done BEFORE disaster strikes, not after.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
- If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

HDMI and PC inputs do not work on my 37AV502R LCD TV

my Apple TV (HDMI) and computers 2 on HDMI, 1 on PC, display just fine n the TV but after a while the TV goes blank,
the time is not consistent sometime a few minutes, sometimes a few hours,
but every time, after the TV goes blank there is nothing I can do, the TV just stays blank, if I unplug and turn back on the TV displays the image for a split second and goes bank again,
I thought it might be an overheating thing, however sometimes the PC input will stop working but the HDMI input (either one) will work fine,
has anyone else had this issue?

I'm having the same issue. As soon as I connect it to VGA or HDMI, it goes into a cycle of flashing on-and-off. A guy on youtube had the same problem (posted a video identical to my problem) and reportedly fixed it with a firmware update.
The problem: the US website doesn't have a firmware download. The canadian website does, but the update is from 4/2009, and the manufactured date on the back of my TV is 5/2009. (I also tried the update, but it didn't fix the problem).
When I call Toshiba to ask about the firmware update, after they confirm I am out of warranty, their automated system keeps hanging up on me. So frustrating.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. When you are done switch back to the main iTunes library.
