Smart LED Code on MS-6590

Can someone tell me what the problem with the MS-6590 is when the system is turned on and the smart LED shows testing RTC and hangs there?

Where can I find a list of error codes for the Smart LED and D-Bracket.  I didn't see them in the manual I downloaded.
    Thanks

Usually those codes are located in the very first few page of the manual.
You can always download the manual from the Support page.

  • MSI BIG BANG Xpower II boot issue - LED code 9A

    Hello all,
I am facing to issue after BIOS update from 2.6 to 2.7. After update was machine working properly. But after one crash of OS cant boot at all. Crash was probably caused by overloading GPUs but there were no issue with cards and this board during 3 weeks of 100% GPU and CPU load. No video (connected only one GPU card), no Numlock key/led is working (this is good test if PC is reacting even no picture).
Board: MSI BIG BANG XPOWER II
    Bios: Version 2.7
    VGA:  4x AMD SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290x
    PSU:   Silverstone 1500W (gold)
CPU:   Intel Core i7-4930K 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011
    MEM: 1x Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 HyperX blu Edition
    HDD: WD Blue 256gb 5400
    COOLER: NOCTUA NH-D14
    OC: 3.9GHz
    OS: Windows 8.1 64bit Professional
    Tried
    - switch BIOS from A to B also C (with small switch).
    - cleared Cmos with onboard button.
    - removed Battery for a while
System start booting and stuck always on 9a LED code.
From manual it looks like it is USB, SATA initialisation phase.
I think CPU or Mem should be fine.
Anyone who met this issue or any sollution?
I am thinking to replace this board under warranty.
    Thanks for any info..

    Hi Froggy,
    Thanks for reply.
But I have tried disconnected all USB devices and got same LED code. If this happend because of some USB configuration in BIOS why reset of CMOS did not help?
It very well could be setting(s) in the BIOS, but I am not qualified to be of much assistance when Win 8/8.1 is involved.

  • MSI Big Bang Xpower II did not post - Debug LED Code #67

    I need HELP...!
I have a problem my board did not post , did not start and i have the DEBUG LED CODE # 67 displayed.
    There is my build
MSI Big Bang Xpower II X79 LGA2011
    Intel Core i7 3820 LGA2011 Processor
Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler System LGA2011
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series memory (F3-12800CL-32GBZL) DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 - CL10-10-10-30 (8192MB X 4) - 32GIG located in DIMM 1-3-5-7
Gigabyte GTX570 OC Edition video card in slot PCI-E2
    Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s 10,000 RPM
    LG BH12LS35 Blu-Ray Writer 12X BD-R 16X
    Ultra LSP-750 Power Supply
Cooler Master HAF X EATX Tower Case
When I put the power on, the power supply activated fans and drives spin, all the LEDs on the motherboard light up but nothing appears on the screen.
No video signal at all and the computer stop and restrart every 15 seconds. When these reset occurs there is no beep on the speaker , nothing at all, no flashing screen either, nothing.
The DEBUG LED display a sequence of flashing numbers 19 - 60 - 19- 60 - 67 and stop showing still the number # 67 for about ten seconds and then he reset again.
I carefully followed the instruction manual for the installation, I installed the memory modules in slots 1 3 5 7, i put my video card in slot PCI-E2. all the power wire are connected correctly 1 x 24 pins ATX, 2 x 8 pins ATX, 1 X 6 pins , all the wire from the front panel are correctly connected to the m-connector in JFP1 & 2.
Did i forget something, I don’t know what the debug led code # 67 exactly mean and what i have to do to fix-it
Someone has an idea what is wrong or have any suggestion to solve this issue.
     Thank's all for your help.

I followed some advice to remove the memory modules and this is actually caused by the use of memory but you will see I still have a curious bug.
I referred to the instructions manual to the letter for the choice of DIMM SLOT to put the memory module in single, double, triple and quad channels.
If I install 1 memory module in the DIMM SLOT  1 to operate in single channel, everything is normal and the motherboard  POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
If I install 2 memory modules in  DIMM SLOT  1 & 3 to run in dual channel, everything is normal and the motherboard  POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
If I install three memory modules in DIMM SLOT 1 - 3 - 5 to run in triple channel, everything is normal and the motherboard POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
As soon as I install four DIMMs modules mémoiredans SLOT 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 to run in quad channel, the motherboard  freezes and does NOT POST and show  code 67 on the debug led and has reset itself every 20 seconds.
I tried all my RAM modules alternately in both single channel and everything works normally.
I did the same thing in rotation for both dual and triple channel and everything is still normal with all fourth memory modules individually.
As soon as I put a fourth memory module it freezes and displays the code 67 or L9 dependent side as you look.
So my bug is my motherboard MSI Big Bang Xpower II do  not want  to work in quad channel.
Do you have any idea where I should look for, is a setting in the BIOS  , I have flashed the bios to the latest version V1.5
I included the screenshot of the BIOS to see if you can  notice something wrong.
    Thank you

  • P35 Neo 2 LED Code, What does it mean?

Computer won't boot, stops at splash screen, can't get into bios.
Hangs on LED code G-R-G-R "Testing Base and  Extended Memory..."
Tried booting with only the bare essentials, same code. Tried booting with no memory, hangs on "Memory Detection Test" R-R-G-R. Which leads me to believe it's something other than the memory sticks (although the memory sticks aren't listed on MSI's compatability test report). Which is why I'm asking exactly what the Extended Memory code means. If it's a fault with the MB or maybe with the memory sticks not being compatible.
    Here's my system specs...
-Antec Three Hundred ATX Computer Case
    -Antec TruePower Trio TP3-430 ATX12V Power Supply - 430 W
    -Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8500 3.16GHz 1333MHz 6MB LGA775 CPU
    -MSI P35 Neo2 Intel Cpu Socket 775 Motherboard 7345 Ver:1.2  Bios version 1.8
    -PATRIOT PSD22G8002 2GB PC2-6400 (DDR2-800)
    -GeForce 7600GT video card
Any input before I RMA the MB or buy new memory would be appreciated.

New build, I havn't gotten it past the splash screen. I first thought that maybe I needed to flash the bios to a newer version, but according to MSI's website v1.8 is fine for that cpu. I'm just curious what would cause it to hang up on that particular code.

  • Error message a.2 beep/power LED codes

have a new 8200 elite convertible mini tower that has beep/power LED codes of 4 beeps - power LED blinks red 4 times @ 1hz - probable causse power failure - power supply overloaded - check storage devices expanion cards and/or system board (CPU power connector P#3 what does this mean?

    Hello ben2039,
Try these solutions in this order
1.Check that the voltage selector, located on the rear of the power supply, is set to the appropriate voltage. Proper voltage setting depends on your region.
    2. Open the hood and ensure the 4-wire power supply cable is seated into the connector on the system board.
    3. Check if a device is causing the problem by removing ALL attached devices (such as hard, diskette, or optical drives, and expansion cards). Power on the system. If the system enters the POST, then power off and replace one device at a time and repeat this procedure until failure occurs. Replace the device that is causing the failure. Continue adding devices one at a time to ensure all devices are functioning properly.
    4. Repair / Replace the power supply
    5. Repair / Replace the system board.

    Hey,
I looked in the manual at the led codes however L9 is not in the list from what I can see. Does anyone know what it means?
Edit: does it mean that the the cpu fan header detected no fan? I took it into the shop to see what they thought and then when I got home thought about it and was like wait a second i forgot to plug the heatsink fans in when i turned it on, i feel like a derp for this lol

  • Occasional BIOS LED Code 2

Occasionally, (about once every two weeks) when I turn on my computer, there is no BIOS startup and I get a pattern of blinks from my num lock and caps lock LEDs.(ON-off-ON-long off, repeat)
I have looked up the LED code, and it indicates I have a BIOS Corruption Failure Error. (My laptop does not restart during this error code)
From Blank Screen LED Error Codes:
If a BIOS corruption error occurs (Blink code 2), you may not even notice the blink codes, because as soon as the computer recognizes the error, it restarts, attempts to recover the BIOS, and then restarts again. You may notice an extra-long startup process as a result, and a message indicating that the BIOS has been recovered may display on startup. If this occurs, update the BIOS on the computer. For more information, refer to the HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS or ROM for Notebooks with Windows Vista support document.
However, if I simply hold the power switch for 10 seconds to force power off and turn it back on, it starts perfectly.
I have also been having an issue with my computer freezing (Requires power switch to be held for 10 seconds) which is almost always followed by the led code when I try to restart. Based on this information, it seems more like LED code 3, Memory Error Not Functional
If you experience a memory failure (Blink code 3), follow the guide in the table below.
    If you are using:
Original Memory: Reseat the memory. If reseating the memory does not resolve the problem, try replacing the memory with new memory.
New Memory: Reseat the memory. If you continue to experience this error code after reseating the memory, the problem may be with the memory itself. Take the new memory out of the computer, put the original memory back into the computer, and then retest it.
If you do not feel comfortable reseating the memory yourself, take the computer to a computer retailer and ask them to reseat it for you.
NOTE: Some memory module errors allow you to start up the computer and the operating system before restarting and displaying the blink code.
This is not a major issue, as it only adds another 20 or so seconds to my boot time, but I just want to be sure it is not too serious.
    Thanks for the help!

    I recommend two things
    1. Check your BIOS version, you can see it in Windows if you hold down the “fn” key and press the “esc key; or if that does not work from a shutdown state boot up and tap f10 to get into the BIOS.
Then check on line at HP.com to see if there is a newer BIOS version to download
    2. Boot into the BIOS. Go to the Diagnostic tab and run the memory diagnostic to check your memory.
    Good luck.

  • Smart LED TV or Mac to TV via HDMI

    Hi to all!
I was wondering if you could suggest which option makes more sense to watch material I would typically access from my computer (I'm using a Mac Book Pro 17''):
    A) An LED Smart TV (possibly with web browsing included other than the standard apps) or
    B) MacBookPro connected via HDMI (or other cable?) to a standard LED TV (non-smart)?
I'm not even sure if option 'B" is even possible at all... If it were doable, would the LED TV just mirror whatever I have being displayed on my Mac?
    Thanks for any help!

  • ServeRaid M1015 Status LED codes?

    Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone know where to find the status codes for the 2 bicolor-LEDs on the backside of an M1015 near the bracket/PCIe-connector ( http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/9996/20120830100410hdr.jpg at the lower right in this image).
The designation for them seems to be CBB3 and CBB4.
I have a problem where one of my cards is constantly lighting them ORANGE and cannot be seen by the OS. The other two cards that work fine just blinnk them green during the boot process.
    Thankful for any guidance!

  • Apple Cinema Display 23" - Blank Screen, "short-long-short" LED code

    Hello everyone.
This sounds like something of an epidemic... My Apple Cinema 23" HD Display (bought Dec. 2007) hasn't been turning on after a power outage hit our area last week.
The Computer and Display were OFF when the outage occurred. Everything was plugged into a surge suppressor. Everything ELSE plugged in to the suppressor is fine (including my Mac CPU)... but not the monitor.
It’s not dead-dead…. It’s a blank screen but there IS a morse-code flash on the LED (short-long-short). According to Apple Support’s LED Translation, it SHOULD be something to do with the power adaptor. The adaptor IS correct… a 90 watt… but just in case I bought ANOTHER 90w adaptor brick. I plugged the monitor to the new brick. THE RESULT WAS THE SAME.
I’ve tried power cycling, I’ve tried plugging it into different outlets, I’ve tried connecting to other computers. The same LED result remains.
And, yes, of course, I’ve got no Apple Support, and from what I read in similar posts, outside-the-warranty repairs could hit around $400. I REFUSE!
For now I have a Samsung monitor from Costco. It’s not bad, but it’s not the Apple monitor with its awesome color-fidelity.
I've read some other posts with the same problem (LED blink code and all) elsewhere but haven't got a solid answer.
I wonder… has anyone else incurring this same problem (with the same LED flashing deal) tried to use a 150-WATT adaptor brick? I would try this myself, but I’m currently financially unable (and personally unwilling) to throw more cash at this problem unless I know it’ll fix it.

    Hi all!
As mentioned on the title of this topic *I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM* with my 23" Cinema Display...
Before the failure, the monitor *WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION* (trust me when I comment this, my whole life is in front of a monitor)
*THE PROBLEM SHOWED UP THE DAY I MOVED THE MONITOR TO AN OTHER OFFICE* (???). Please note that *I TOOK EXTRA CARE WHEN I MOVED THE MONITOR*, besides, when something costs around 1K you owe to.
*I TRIED AN 150W ADAPTER ON IT AND WORKED FINE!!!* Just like before.
But since *IT WAS UNDER GUARANTY* I sent it to the local distributor who eventually *REPLACED IT WITH A "NEW" ONE*, which after remarks from my side it turned out it wasn't "new" but re-manufactured by Apple (off course, he guarantied me the parts in it, where brand new and had 0 hours of usage).
In my question to the technical representative of Apple *"WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY MONITOR"*, he answered me that *THE INVERTER WAS FAULT*.
After that I questioned him *"WHY MY MONITOR MANAGED TO WORK WITH THE 150W ADAPTER?"*, he answered me that *THE EXTRA CHARGE OF THE 150W ADAPTER WAS ABLE TO "EXCITE" SUCCESSFULLY THE FAULTY INVERTER IN ORDER TO WORK* and that *IT WAS A MATTER OF MONTHS FOR THE MONITOR TO FAIL AGAIN*.
That's my story... I hope it may help some of you... Personally I can't have an opinion on the matter, since I'm not a technician. The only thing on which I can comment is that *A 1K MONITOR SHOULD BE WAY MORE DURABLE AND TOLERANT WHEN YOU TRANSFER IT AROUND (if that cause the problem of course)*

  • 00 LED code on Gaming 5 motherboard

I recently RMA'd a Gaming 5 motherboard and after receiving the replacement I'm still having the same problem that I had initially. As with the last board, the standby LED does not light up once the power supply is switched on prior to trying to power up with the case button. When I do try to power up, the system will briefly light up for a second and then power off immediately. I am able to see a '00' code on the mother board but I'm wondering if the short power up is not enough time for it generate a correct code.
I've tried a large number of methods to trouble shoot listed below:
Plugged the PSU into another mobo and confirmed that it could power up the system
Removed and tested each memory module individually
    Reseated the CPU multiple times
checked the case connectors for the power switch to ensure they were put on correctly
removed the GPU and attempted to start up
shorted out the CMOS battery to try and reset the BIOS
Any suggestions at this stage would be helpful. I'm starting to believe it's either the processor or RAM but the lack of a standby LED has me wondering if I've gotten a second dud in a row.

    Quote from: badboy2k on 18-January-15, 12:59:15
have you tried another PSU on that board (maybe your PSU has to high a standby current so is not haswell compliant)?
it may be the CPU (doubt its RAM as you would have a 50-55 code)... may be another dud board but it may just be your PSU here.
another possibility is the BIOS on the board! (what is the serial number of it without the last 3 digits?)
Serial number (I think this is the one you're looking for): E816426667 01
I used a multimeter on the 20 pin ATX connector and the I confirmed that the PSU is delivering the correct amount of voltage from each one, however I'm piqued with your comment on the standby current. I've looked around but I cannot seem to find any spec listing for the processor that describes the limits and such. I'd be surprised if the model I chose is incompatible with this specific processor given that on their site it does state it is compatible with the Haswell architecture
I have tried another PSU on the mobo and still no go with the standby LED. I've considered the possibility of the CPU being dead but would that actually prevent a standby LED from not lighting up?
Quote from: pandaz on 19-January-15, 11:06:18
have you tried to remove all SATA devices and clear the CMOS and check again?
Attempted and still the same issue

  • LED code meaning: 13 times (HP ProBook 4510s)

    Laptop: Hp ProBook 4510s
When I turn my laptop on, the blue light on the power on button lights for 6 seconds, meanwhile the led near the power plug on right side rapidly blinks 13 times. Always exactly 13 times, so it must be some kind of error code. Then laptop shuts down. Nothing is heard, neither fan, neither hard disk.
What is wrong? I am really in bad situation, I don't have any money and I need this computer. Feeling really bad. Thanks everyone for help!

    Hi,
    The situation may be:
Blue Blink 13 times = Abnormality in the power supply voltage.
As it is very difficult to identify the defective part, replacement of the power unit is required.
My suggestion, try the following test
    Run on battery only,
Pull out the battery, run on main only
Borrow PSU/charger elsewhere to see any difference.
    Good luck,
    BH
