I can no longer open Smart Notebook on my MacBook OSX 10.4. It just bounces in the dock then disappears

The operating system is OSX 10.4.11
Notebook 10 was running fine except for the flash activities would no longer work. I upgraded to Notebook 10.7 from the website to try and fix this. The new Notebook version nor the uninstaller would launch. They bounce in the dock for a second or two and then disappear again. I drug and dropped all Smart files into the trash since the uninstaller didn't work and reinstalled Notebook 10 from a disk I have. Now it also bounces in the dock for a second or two when I try to launch it then it disappears. I also tried to repair permissions but this didn't help.
I checked the console log and got this information:

In case it could be helpful to anyone else this is the solution that Smart sent to me:
Please follow the steps below:
1. Write down any product keys you are currently using for all SMART software installed on the machine.
2. Download, unzip, and run the SMART cleanup utility below: http://www.smartmacsupport.com/downloads/SMARTUninstaller.zip
3. If you wish to use SMART Response™ interactive response systems, download this:http://downloads.smarttech.com/techsupport/k1fi2rh8stf3eja6kjs1sdl0wa/SMARTRespo nse_with_NBSP2andDriversSP5-Mac.zip

4. Reinstall the software and reactivate it using the product keys from step 2 above.

I need 11.8.800.168 in order to work with SMART Notebook, but 11.9 is forced

I need the older version 11.8 as the new version of Flash Player disrupts my ability to provide training for SMART Notebook, however when I try to install the older version I see an error message stating that it is not the latest version and can therefore not be installed.
I have removed all other versions from my computer which runs on Windows 7.
All my students (teachers) encounter the same problem and now the teaching software stops teachers from using their prepared lessons. This is an urgent problem.

Smart Notebook For OS X 10 7 5??

I am a teacher and want to download Smart Notebook for my Macbook Air 10 7 5.....I cannot teach without it. I have seen no recent information on whether or not the crashing and freeezing and super slow performance issues have been resolved. If they have:
1. Which version of Smart Notebook should I download?

P.S. Love my mac however I am starting to feel disconnected when my powerpoint crashes sevral times in midst of preppping a presentation -- without recovery. I am not confident about Smart Notebook working on my mac....but I MUST use it for school....so it there a fix or will I be forced to buy a PC?

I have a Mac OS X 10.7.5 and i need to install xcode. I think the latest xcode
i can use is xcode 4.6.3 because i have OS X 10.7.5.
But i can't find xcode 4.6.3 or any xcode 4.6.X anywhere. I've looked in the
App store, "downloads for developers" and the "Mac Dev Center" but the
latest xcode i can find is xcode 3.2.
I have a developer account.
I'm I not doing something right?
BTW, i think i only need the "command line tools" but can't find them either?

Smart notebook software does not work

I have installed Mavericks and now my Smart Notebook software does not load. What to do?

Does this actually work? I was unable to get it to install, but I'd be curious to know it someone's had better results, or figured out a workaround, short of rolling back Mavericks.
I finally received a reply from SMART customer support, and they confirmed that the current version of Notebook (11.3) is not supported for Mavericks.
They refered me to this FAQ:

- which also rather unhelpfully says that the next release will fix it "later this fall".

Smart Adaptor Compatibility (power)

I need a new AC Adaptor as I left mine abroad.

How can I tell, if my laptop is capable of using the smart charge facility/adaptor. Where can I check if my laptop will (A) - work with and (B) - Make use of this smart charge feature.

I checked the link that you offered; however, this listing only shows one type of yo-yo style adaptor (the one with the big plug). I have a feeling that my iBook (which was one of the very first small white G3 iBooks) is a bit of a hybrid between old and new because the dual USB iBooks that shipped a few months later had the newer square style of power adaptor.
I know that there are two types of yo-yo adaptors because I have both in front of me at this moment. Unfortunately, they both have the same model number M7332 (part number 922-4323?). They appear to vary only in the size of the plug at the computer/cord connection.
Can I assume that since the adaptors have the same model number (despite the plugs being different sizes) that they would use the same AC power cord (part number 922-4529?) to connect them to the wall?

Samsung Smart Panel - compatibility with Mac OS X Lion

Am using a MacBook Air with OS X Lion and have a Samsung CLP-315 color laser printer in the office. My concern is that the Smart Panel does not seem to work with 10.7 Lion. This is a bummer since I can't seem to determine the amount of toner left in my cartridges, unlike when I was using 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Does anybody know if the Smart Panel is already compatible with 10.7 Lion - or alternatively, does anyone know how I can determine the content of my toner cartridges? The LEDs on the control panel on the printer only tells me when they're actually empty - so it doesn't really help.

Smart panel works OK for me on Lion but the printer is CLP325-w. (though only recently updated and Im pretty sure it was ok on the CLP315 too.
To check status go to system preferences>Print&Scan and the check the options and supplies box. You should be able to see 4 toner levels.
Also, what happens when you actually choose to print? On mine I get a box appear which actually shows toner levels each time.
I'm not actually in the office right now so I'll check later and post again if I can add anything.

Smart phone compatibility

I want to buy a Nokia C3-00, but I would like to know, if C3-00 is a smart phone, for example can I be online on messenger or ICQ and without logging off/shutting down this application, just minimize and check my SMS or make a call?

Nokia C3 is NOT a "smartphone".
Its a simple S40 phone with added WiFi and Qwerty keyboard and some preloaded apps/widgets for social networking, that's all.
It doesn't have Symbian OS and as such is incapable of multitasking.
E5 has a very simmilar design and comes with Symbian S60v3 fp2, plus its really nice for its price too, maybe you'd consider that one instead?

Smart phone compatability

I want to sync my new Nokia to my contacts. Cingular tells me that it is not compatable with I-Mac, just Windows. Is there software I can install that will make it compatable? I'm also thinking of installing Outlook on my I-mac. Can I buy Outlook for my I-Mac without buying the software suite (WORD, PP, Excel, etc...)?

Erm... it might help if you mentioned which model it is, (out of the dozens of phones Nokia makes), that you want to sync with your Mac.

Can't remove app from the dock- Smart Board - Smart Notebook

I installed smartboard software for mac now every time I start my computer up the icon is in my Dock with the light below it I can quit the app and it disappears, BUT when I start my computer up its back again I looked under users and groups and the app is not not in the login items yet everytime I start my mac this app is in my dock and the light below is on. This is becoming very frustrating, Please help.

Playing Sound Locks SMART Board Software

Several teachers at our school just got new Lenovo T520's with 64-bit Windows 7. We have SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards and run SMART Notebook software. When sound is played by this program, the program locks. I have been in contact with SMART Technologies, but we cannot tell what is going on. This is what we know:
- sound works on other programs
- Conexant audio drivers are up to date
- the SMART Notebook program works on other machines
- on our other Lenovo's (T510 32-bit Win 7)
- some other 64-bit Win 7 machines, various manufactures
- disabling sound enhancements doesn't keep the program from locking
- generic Windows sound drivers don't keep the program from locking
SMART Tech suspects something with audiodg.exe, but we can't figure it out.
I don't know if anyone on these forums uses SMART Board, but I thought I'd ask for general suggestions as we are clueless. any help would be appreciated.

Interesting, I registered my Corel software DVD software which was suppose to allow me to get updates etc. However, the service packs they have for it are not allowed for the OEM versions. Clearly there are updates but we cannot install them when downloaded from Corel. I flags the version is not supported.
I suppose the solution is to purge the Corel software and invest in supported software which can be patched. The release installed is not the latested and they don't provide updates directly. It must be maddening that this is the case of your grief.

Business Catalyst and Smart Phones

If I make a site in Muse then uplaod it to Business Catalyst can I make it Smart phone compatable from Business Catalyst?

In order to make it compatible for smartphones from Business Catalyst you will have to design the pages or template for smartphones. Business Catalyst simply lets you design the templates for mobile devices separately.
The pages created in Muse will not be rendered smart phone compatible by business catalyst.
Also, that will not be backwards compatible with Muse. So, next time you publish through Muse, changes will be gone and you will have to make the changes again.
