Smart notebook software does not work

I have installed Mavericks and now my Smart Notebook software does not load. What to do?

Does this actually work? I was unable to get it to install, but I'd be curious to know it someone's had better results, or figured out a workaround, short of rolling back Mavericks.
I finally received a reply from SMART customer support, and they confirmed that the current version of Notebook (11.3) is not supported for Mavericks.
They refered me to this FAQ:

- which also rather unhelpfully says that the next release will fix it "later this fall".

No. Mac OS 10.7 removed support for Power PC application architecture (Rosetta). Any application which requires PPC architecture will not run with Mac OS 10.7. There's no way around that.
In order for Adobe software to stop functioning, you must have Creative Suite 2 applications or older. If that's the case, you may not be eligible to upgrade. Only CS2 or newer apps are avaialble to upgrade currently.
Be aware Adobe is changing it's upgrade policy with the forthcoming release of Creative Suite 6 sometime in 2012. At that time only CS5 users will be eligible for upgrades. Or, Adobe (wrongfully) wants you to pay for a sunscription based application service. (Personal comment: Adobe is really doing a disservice to a large customer base if this announcement really goes into effect next year. It smells a great deal like corporate greed. )

Did you correctly format your usb stick in accordance with the Boot Camp installation instructions? Go here to the Boot Camp System Requirements page, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634, look for your computer model/year and download the correct version of Windows Support software.

Thanks for posting your example. You may want to remove your workspace details from the previous posting, or at least update the password on the workspace. I've taken a look at your example and initially couldn't see anything wrong with your tree query. However, when I ran your query in SQL Workshop, it only returned one row, which would explain why you were only seeing one node in your tree! I've updated your query to use a WITH clause, and the tree is now working correctly. I believe you've hit an underlying database bug where the CONNECT BY query is only returning 1 row, when in fact it should return > 1 row. By re-writing the query to use a WITH clause, you can get around the problem.

Hp smart web printing does not work on firefox. HP says this is not their problem and to contact Mozilla. Is there a plug in available?

I just bought a new hp printer. the software has a feature called HP web smart printing. The feature works on explorer but not on Firefox. HP says this is not their problem and suggested I contact Mozilla. Is an add on available and if not will one be made available.
I am using v. 3.6.13. and the printer is HP Officejet 4500.

HP smart web printing is an application that only works with IE. In spite of what HP have told you, if they want their application to work with Firefox they will need to make a version for Firefox. It is not down to Mozilla to make a version of the HP software for Firefox.

Update Software does not work anymore...

two days ago i`ve tried to download updates from software update option on Mac OS X 10.5.2 and then it tells me that: you`re not connected to the internet, try again later...
when i come home from work, ive tried again and then the update software tells me that i have new updates but does not appear any updates and i cant select Install option too.

The Blackberry Desktop Software Does not work it 'freezes'

I have on my laptop the Blackberry Desktop Software, which has being working fine for a long time, but suddenly it 'freezes' nothing is working. I have un-installed it, run Ccleaner to clean up registries, re-installed it again and the same thing happens IT "FREEZES" don't know the reason??? Need help because I always do my backups on my BB.

As you see, with XP, SP3 has been required for quite some time...so none of the more recent Desktop Software versions will work for you. But, those System Requirements pages are kind of messed up right now (three tabs claiming to be for "6.0.1", but with different information on each).
If you cannot obtain SP3, then you will need to fall back to older and older versions of the Desktop Software until you find one that works under SP2. Old versions can be found here:

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device). Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP. I hope can be useful.

My Xperia ZL have an strange battery behaviour. It started with a crazy battery indicator, for example, sometimes it is showing 75% of battery, then I start to use some app, and the battery drains to 50%, but right after I close de app, the battery shows 63%. So I've never been able to know how my battery is going for sure. Sometimes it is showing 35%, then I just use some app for a few minutes, the battery goes to 15% and suddenly the phone turns off. But when I reboot it, it is showing 30% again.
To charge the phone's battery, I must have luck, because it looks like the phone choose when it would like to charge the battery. The problem turns worst when the battery drains totally. The battery simply doesn't charge, the phone turns on and off constantly. When I plug the battery charger, the LED indicator glows a weak red light, then the "SONY XPERIA" appears, and then the phone turns off, the cycle repeats if I let the battery charger plugged in, back to the weak red light.
Does anyone here had the same problem with Xperia ZL? Does a simple battery change might resolve this issue?

Recovery software does not work

i am trying to repair a toshiba satellite L655-S5058. i put in the repair cds which i got from the toshiba web site and they copy all 3 cd's onto the drive, then it sais something like building CRC's or something, and then I get an error code screen that sais something like, this cd doesn't work <ERROR> turn off the computer and cry in the fetal position. So, my quesiton is, do i have to buy a second set of cd's to get this to work or is there a way to download something from somewhere that actually works or what? can someone please help me. I would have just installed windows 7 from somewhere else but the drive needs a (driver) aparently, and toshiba won't just give me the HDD driver because they only come on the repair cd, so I can't do that, so I can't do it without the install cd's and those don't work. Why is this so hard to fix this computer? any ideas anyone? what would be nice is if I could just download the install cd's and put them on a thumb drive. atleast that way i would know the software is good. right now i don't know if it's my HDD, or the computer itself, or if the cd's they sent me were corrupt. Help me someone.

Fetal position is not required to initiate crying, but is the most commonly used option. What specific error number are you seeing? One way to test if the media is corrupt is to try copying all the files to a directory on another Win7 machine. If you can copy everything off the media, chances are they're intact. Also if this works, you can just copy the files from this directory onto a USB drive. To prep the drive which obviously must be sufficiently large enough to hold all the files, the USB drive must be set "active" so it can be booted from. The first disk should be copied to the root of the USB drive just as it is on the media. Subsequent disks need only copy the image files (.SWM) to "...\ZZIMAGES\ZZIMAGES". Finally edit the file in the root, "DATA.INI" and set "CDNUM=1" and "CDMAX=1". You should be able to boot from this USB and recover now assuming you can copy the files from the optical media.

Podcast Software Does Not Work!

I download my podcasts at home on wifi so that I can listen to them when I am in my car. Sometimes they show as downloaded, when I attempt to play them, the play arrow is greyed out. Other times the cloud symbol shows up but they will not download from the cloud. What am I doing wrong?

Satellite P105 mat****a dvd drive does not work with Win 7

I need an upgrade on my dvd for my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the fastest dvd burner possible at this time because I am a movie fan and keep them in digital storage.
1) First should I go get an external drive or can I get top performance with an internal dvd replacement from a parts dealer or Toshiba?
The problem is when I upgraded to windows 7 things changed. I lost my sound but solved that by using a legacy driver for Visa as apparently the sound "board" on the laptop is made for only Vista. Next I found the dvd drive which is a mitsu****a UJ-450s internal does not work or is extremely slow in backing up movies from discs or files. The available burner software also seems intended for Vista as performance was acceptable then. Even the dvd burner software does not work.
2) So, my question to the mavens of multimedia is: What should be my next move?
3) Should I go external and face the USB bottle neck or
4) go for the bus speed on the internal dvd?
5) Given that an internal dvd is better as it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it currently is, or some other bus configuration.
6) Most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18x speed with current software like ConvertXtoDVD and fit as an external or -- better -- as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?
Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to sales it would be much appreciated.
