Smart Object Opens Blank Page
I'm trying to get to the bottom of a strange phenomenon with Smart Object editable text in Photoshop. If I import text as a smart object I can double-click on that layer and it opens in Illustrator where I can edit the text, save it back and it updates in Photoshop. This is broken on some machines in our office. On OS X Leopard this feature works flawlessly. On OS X Snow Leopard it does not. And on some machines with OS X Lion it works and others it does not. Anyone else double-clicking on a smart object of text only to get a blank document in Illustrator with no paths and nothing on the pasteboard? CS5 Design Premium. Adobe experts, please advise.

Apparently the solution for me, at least today, was a result of clearing Font caches. We use FontExplorer X Pro 3.1.1. It has some feature sets in it's Tools menu to Clean Application Font Caches in Microsoft and Adobe products. I ran that and a full System font-cache-clear and now I can edit text from a placed Photoshop smart object in Illustrator CS5 on Snow Leopard.

Smart objects open in Illustrator CC instead of CC 2014
I have designed a couple of items in Illustrator CC 2014 and pasted them as a smart object in Photoshop CC 2014. Yesterday, I did some editing to these smart objects files and all was working well, the Smart Object opened in Illustrator CC 2014. Today a different story, I opened the smart objects and they opened in illustrator CC not CC 2014, the version where they were created. Does anybody have any idea of what is going on? I will appreciate any help with this issue. I found a similar question but the solution was not helpful because my smart objects are associated with the latest version not in a previous version as the posting suggested was the problem.

I didn't even thank you for answering my question. Thank you. Do you know how I could change/fix the issue I have with the SOs not opening in the right Illustrator version. I have designed the images in Illustrator CC2014 but when I open them from Photoshop, they open in Illustrator CC. Thanks. -
Lately Safari has been opening blank pages behind my current page whenever I click links on the current page. The link opens in the current page or new tab, but the full screen blank page is still open. This is driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

(ontop of my main page)...... when they open they open to a large
size, with lots of space around the content....
is there an option in dreamweaver to set how big the new page
will open at???

Smart Object opening as .jpg instead of .psb
I received a file from another person – I didn't create it. It contains a Smart Object, which is indicated in the layer thumbnail. When I double-click to edit the smart object, a .jpg file opens, not a .psb. I know I can flatten it after making the changes and re-save it so the Smart Object updates in the PSD, but what I want to know is, why does this happen in the first place? Shouldn't a Smart Object always open a .psb?
If you placed a JPG file, then the smart object is a JPG file.
PSB is only used when Photoshop creates the smart object from layers, because PSB can contain everything in a Photoshop document. -
Webi report link to other webi report opening blank page
I have put the hyperlink to link to the other webi report. But once I click on the links. It open the report with blank page. I have tried it in View mode or Edit mode, the browser will open up another blank page. Following is my links:

Make sure the followings:
1. The webserver runs at port 8080 (if not, use the correct port)
2. the CUID is correctly copied.
3. the target report here is a webi report. (sType=wid)
4. the server name is correctly mentioned.
5. you are using JAVA environment.

Previously both Firefox and Safari would display web pages created in Dreamweaver (MX). Dreamweaver is set up to preview by default in Safari (F12) and, using (F12) and the Command modifier key, in Firefox. Now the preview works only in Safari. Trying to preview in Firefox results in Firefox opening, if it wasn't already running, but only a blank page displays.

That's an indication the startup disk may need repairing.
Launch Disk Utility. That's located in /Applications/Utilities
Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)

Can you please check if any error being reported in errors file under (C:\Program Files\Oracle\WebServer7\<instance-name>\logs).
Also verify the process and the try modifying the port from 8989 to 8888 and see if it helps.
you can modify the port on which it listen to in server.xml located in (C:\Program Files\Oracle\WebServer7\<instance-name>\config

Edit smart object open in preview and not ai...

Al working on a layout with CS4 master collection. In PS I pasted an ai as a smart object.... But now when I edit the smart object it opens in preview and not AI.
Any thoughts?

A work-around may be to Export Contents, edit in Illustrator, save that and then Replace Contents back in Photoshop. -
Links to files opens blank page
Hey,
I have links on my iWeb page to zip files on a server. When I click the link, the file begins to download as I want, but in order of the download to happen, a blank page is opened before the download occurs.
Is there a way to trigger the download without having to open a blank page?

WesOld Toad, I'm sorry but I can't give out the link since the download links contain resource materials for my book that hasn't been officially released and I can't give out the link to the resource page. However, I have tried to download the files on other test computers and the blank window is opening with safari on each computer. Also at second glance, I noticed that a blank window is opening with Firefox as well, only its getting closed immediately and the download window appears. I didn't notice that at first.
I am wondering if perhaps I have the link set to open a new window in iWeb as Roddy mentioned above. I'll have to check that when I get home. What should I choose for the option in iWeb to open the link so that only the download window appears?

Google Custom Search opens blank page
I have a Wordpress site. I installed Google Custom Search on my website.
In all browsers except Firefox it opens a blank page.
How can i fix this?The first error would indicate a problem with one of the Google scripts.

I don't know that much about JavaScript to know how to troubleshoot this and this happens in all Firefox versions that I tried, so it could be a compatibility issue in Firefox with this Google script. -
Firefox 4 will load website but opens blank pages within website
I have used Firefox for years, updated from 3.6 to 4 and never had any problems. Recently in 3.6 and 4 I load my local medical centre website (no problem) then when I click on any link I just get a blank page. These pages always open in IE. I have emptied the cache and refreshed the pages but all I get is blank pages.
Do you have firefox filter installed? I find that with my problem I disabled firefox filter from my add ons & found that the web page I have trouble viewing (which is verizon wireless) will load correctly. Or maybe is another add on you may have installed. Test them out. For now I switched back to firefox 3.6 because I dont experience that problem with 3.6. I hope they can correct it, I would like to use firefox 4 again soon.
