Smart Print 2.7 vs.IE9

I installed Smart Print 2.7 It works with "Mozilla fire fox" but nothing happens with internet explorer 9 which is the one I normally use
What is wrong?

Hi @arturomv ,
It took me a bit, but I have found some more information.
If you try to run HP Smart Web Printing in 32-bit IE 9, the program will not open, and an error message might display on the computer.
Try the document in the following link.
HP Smart Web Printing Software Replaced by HP Smart Print
This should help if you are running IE 9 in 32-bit.
Here is another document that was brought to my attention as I searched.
HP Smart Web Printing
Give these a try and let me know how things are going.

HP Smart Web Printing has been replaced by HP Smart Printing, it supports IE6-IE9 (only).

  • Whats with Smart Print IE9 needing the BingBar? Don't want the BingBar!

Smart Print is available for IE9 but there is no option to download without the BingBar.  If I downloaded every tool bar with every piece of software my Explorer window would be full.  Give us a break and make it optional or it will be rejected more often than not.  Your emoticons don't even work!

Did you download this link? Version 1 of Smart Print is used with the Bing Bar.  Version 2 extends support to Chrome and Firefox and does come as a standalone plug-in so you no longer need to have the Bing toolbar to use it. It is difficult to tell the difference on the page because the verbiage has not been changed to reflect the update.  The link I provided is the one that allows you to down load it with out the Bing bar. I would uninstall it from programs and features, reboot the computer and down load it again. Also, look for the ">>" icon in top right corner of the tool bar on the browser page, sometime the smart print icon can be hidden in that drop down list. Also, go to settings and click on the "Manage Add-ons" and make sure that it is enabled.

  • How do I get Smart Print button to appear in IE9?

I'm running the 32-bit version of IE9 in Windows7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have version 1.0.9.0 of HP Smart Print (i shows up in "Programs and features". I went to the seb site and ran the activation and it was successful. The HP bing bar appears, but no Smart Print button. The HP Bingbar has "HP Deals", "HP Advisor", Snapfish by HP", "HP Games", and "Learn at HP" buttons.

    I'm using a Presario desktop & windows 7.
I have done all of the steps suggested here - both the Bing bar program & the HP smartprint 1.0.9.0 are listed.
When I right click the command bar - The HP smartprint icon does NOT show up.
I don't see any thing that I can guess is the Bing Bar.
Help Please This has been going on for way to long!!!!!

  • IE9 64-bit version of Smart Print?

Is there an IE9 64-bit version of Smart Print? I am using Windows 7 64-bit and IE9 64-bit and have uninstalled/reinstalled bing bar and Web Page printing software numerous times, but nothing shows up.  If there is not now one available, will there be in the near future?

I assume this is a SPARC system.
The Solaris 10 version for SPARC only comes in 64 bit version, whereas the Solaris 9 came in both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version, hence, where there is only one (64 bit) package for Solaris 10 there will be two packages for Solaris 9.
The 64-bit packages for Solaris 9 had an "x" at the end, hence, the Solaris 9 64-bit version of libucb.so.1 should be found in a package called SUNWscpux.

  • I just want HP Smart Print for Windows 7 and IE9. Must I also get BING Bar?

I want to download HP Smart Printing for Windows 7 and IE 9. According to the HP website, I can get this download only by also getting the BING toolbard, which I do NOT want.
How can I just get HP Smart Print?
    Thanks.

The terse version of the answer would have been "You can't.".  The detailed answer is something like the following:  HP Smart Web Printing was an add-in supported on versions of IE6-IE8 and at one time on Firefox 3.5.  Some time ago this application was retired and replaced with HP Smart Printing.  Smart Web Printing (currently) requires IE6 - IE9 and it also requires the Bing bar.  There are third party applications that may meet your requirements, but for HP Smart Printing you will need to install the Bing bar.  A Google search may turn up some alternatives.

  • When will smart web printing be compatible with IE9?

After I updated IE to version 9, I lost smart web printing.  When will it be compatible with IE9?

  • HP Smart Print Doesn't work on IE9 & W7 64-bit

I have searched this forum for hours and have not found an answer to my problem.  Some threads say I need HP BING for HP Smart Print to work.  Another says I do not.  I can't find any download for HP BING.
I did download HP Smart Print and the icon appears on by browser toolbar.  It seems to be enabled.  But clicking on the icon does nothing.  In an earlier attempt I did get it function partially:  It selected are area of the web page, but then it switched the web to ATT Search site.  I also tried downloading BING from the BING website after installing Smart Print; but that did not solve the problem.
Why has HP made this so difficult.  From the number of posts it looks like it is a piece of junk.  Does it print only text or the exact copy of the selected area?  All the descriptions are foggy on this.

I am sorry that you are having an issue with HP Smart Print. I would go to the control panel under Add/Remove programs and uninstall it and then restart the computer. I would then use this link to install and read the frequently asked question on the tool as that will answer some of the questions you had about Smart Print. There is also a video that one can view to see it in use.
I use it in Internet Explorer version 8. When I open it up to use it; the tool allows me to adjust the printable area of the web page and then I can go back though and select individual areas to remove. Those areas that will not appear on the printout are encased in an red box outline and the portions that will print are in a green box outline.  I hope that this helps.

  • Does Smart Print work with Windows 7 with IE9 with 64 bit?

I updated Bing Bar & Smart Print (1.1.4.0) successfully, but when I click on the Smart Print icon I get msg to update.

  • Can't print online after installing IE9, HP Deskjet 1050 print scan copy

A week ago or so I installed IE9, had IE7 and it just was not working with allot of web pages so I updated to IE9.
I sell on ebay and I went to make a printing label thru ebays site and I keep getting this error message.
an error has occured in the scrip on this page
    line:       2072
    Char:    1
    error:     class doesn't support automation
    code:     0
    URL:       res://ieframe.dll/preview.js
Do you want to continue running this script
    yes/no
I have just spent 5 hrs online trying to solve this problem. Read many helps/tips and none worked.
Here is just a little of what I have did and nothing worked.
    1. uninstalled/installed printer
    2. Installed updated software for printer(unpluged printer USB before uninstall/install)
    3. Found online that HP printers don't work with IE9, info said to dnlded HP Smart Print 2.1(didn't help after reboot)(also HP web printing was not located in my Added programs, it said to uninstall that first)
    4. Had no idea if I had "bing bar" so I found an dnld for Bing Bar.(didn't help after reboot)Bing Bar was also not found on added programs in control panel
    5. Uninstalled and installed software for printer again, rebooted and still will not print online.
    6. I do have the little HP Smart Print icon on the command toolbar but when ever I clicked on it, it never did nothing.
I am about ready to uninstall IE9. I hate to go back to IE7 but I heard IE8 is junk. Thats why I never installed it.
I have to get it working, I have shipping labels to print.
NOTE: Yes I have spent 6 hrs researching HP's forums, Microsoft forums, and many other forums and nothing works.
P.S. After installing HP Smart Print 2.1 and Bing Bar I did check Manage Addons to make sure they was enabled, they both are.

I have no problem printing anything offline like notebook pages, etc. can't print any online page.
IE9 and HP printers stink as on this past week. I have used HP printers for approx 15 yrs and NEVER had a problem like this before. I will never have a problem like this again, as soon as I buy a replacement NON- HP printer.
I have wasted at least 5 days online researching a fix and I finally found how to get the bing bar so show. In this link  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie9-windows_vista/bing-bar-wont-display/52f87a48-ef7d-e0..., the guy says check "Enable third-party browser extensions" on Adv. tab in internet options. When I did that the bing bar showed. But doing that puts my PC as more risk.
I also dnlded HP Smart Print and click activate on this page http://h41112.www4.hp.com/smartprint/emea_africa/en/smart.html
THen I dnlded the lasted driver for my HP 1050.....
And it still does not print online pages, let alone my ebay S&H labels. I get error messages. If you want to see those error messages go to this ebay forum link http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Seller-Central/Cant-Print-Online/5200152280?start=24, look for post #31 and all the info is there including photos of the error messages..
YOu don't need a ebay acccount to read the post.
I have had it with this whole mess. Like I said I will be getting a new printer(and it won't be HP either).

  • Even after restarting my browser and activating my smart print add on, smart print still won't work.

I installed the smart web printing which didn't work.  Then months later I found the updated Smart Print that requires installing the Bing bar, which I did.  Both add ons are installed, activated, and my IE9 has been restarted.  However, all I get when I click on the smart print button is a new tab opens up that is an exact copy of the tab I have open.  My Smart print experience looks nothing like the video where HP shows the tool in action.  What gives.

    Thanks for replying.
With it connected via WiFi, the printer component of the MP600R uses a Canon proprietary protocol called canonijnetwork to advertise itself on the network. The scanner component uses an Apple protocol called Bonjour. Since you were able to add the scanner then it shows that Bonjour is working and your issue is with the Canon protocol.
One thing to note about the canonijnetwork protocol. It can take several seconds longer than Bonjour to make the printer appear. So when you click add, you will see the scanner first. And if you wait another 10 seconds, you should see the printer.
If the printer still fails to appear, it can be due to a driver issue, as it includes this canonijnetwork module. So I would suggest that you connect the MP600R to the Mac via USB. If a driver is needed, it should be automatically downloaded v10.72.1.0 from Apple. With this USB connected printer now in Printers & Scanners, check that you can print. If you can, then disconnect the USB cable and see if you can now add the wifi connected printer.
One final note. If the above all works for you, remember to remove the printer that was created for the USB connection. If you try to print to this, it will always give you an error as it is no longer connected to the Mac.

  • Bing-Bar help needed for Smart Print activation

I attempted to install Bing bar, but get the message that my computer will only install in Explorer, which is what I am using.  I have a Windows xp, and an HP Photosmart printer

You don't need the Bing bar for smart print any longer. I'm using IE9 and have uninstalled the Bing bar.

    Rob7in

    Hey rob7in!
Unfortunately smart web printing is not yet compatible with ie9. You could downgrade to an earlier version if you really want to use it or you can wait until a newer version is released. I'm not sure what kind of time frame that will be.
    Hope this helps!
