Story so Far !!
Jumbled Contacts
a. Deleted app as per imjolly advice.....downloaded app again....signed in to new app...signed in with bt password.....unable to go any further as was informed that the app was still live and should ask the user (Me !!) to unconnect the user from the device...went to BT.com to unregister me....did that....still could not get the reinstalled app to "let me in " past the log in page !! Contacted the Smart Talk help desk.....and they informed me that a major relinking my name, my moby no and account was required as it was all out of synch (!!!) due to me uninstalling it !! Strange me thinks. Eventually a lady rings backs, tells me my Smart App is now re synched to my account etc....and sends me a pin no...and hey ho ..off we go...App working...but Contacts still jumbled !!
So would suggest you DON'T uninstall the app if you think it might rectify a problem....unless you go through what I did !!
Got a further message from the Smart Talk team 15 Apr 2015 to take a few screenshots of my jumbled contacts list and send it to them so the "App Team" could assist....so far heard nothing from them  !!
Allan Quatermain....my contacts are showing on my phone and not sim card  NOTE : my phone contacts are in alphabetical order.

Will keep you informed of any futher exciting news....

  • Re: Smart Talk problem.

I also cannot seem to be able to register on the Smart Talk app. It gets stuck on the second step (link to your home phone) as it does not ring my landline number. I called the UK customer service team 0800-800151 who said they are from Broadband tech team so fwd-ed to Smart talk 0800-0113845 to a guy who did not seem to know what I was on about. He said that the app does not work on iOS 8 devices and the issue will get solved later in Feb '15 so I should try again then. Is this true? Has anyone been told this?

    Hi Andypre,
Welcome to the community forum. As far as I am aware the BT Smart Talk app should work with iOS 8. I'll be able to help you register the App. Please could you send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods"  found in my profile.
    Thanks

  • Smart Talk not working with Bluetooth since update

I have been using Smart Talk for many months now on my iPhone.   I have a bluetooth headset which I generally use.
This has worked fine (with the exception that when I get an incomming call it disconnects the bluetooth from the Smart Talk call).
But now, since installing version 1.28.0, Smart Talk is not working with my bluetooth headset at all.   When I first make a call the headset is connected - I hear ringback tone.  But as soon as the call is answered, the headset disconnects and the call is transferred to the iPhone itself.  And the Smart Talk app does not give me any options to select the "audio source" (as it does if I make an ordinary mobile call).
As I almost exclusively use the headset, this latest update has made Smart Talk unusable for me.
Is there anyway I can get back to the previous version?

I worked out the problem... I'm using iPhone 4S iOS7
    - Start BT Smart Talk from in car
    - call someone, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, no bluetooth connection
    - kill and restart BT Smart talk
    - call someone, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, no bluetooth connection
    3rd call, always no bluetooth.
It seems there is no way to select the output like with all other bluetooth devices too

  • Using BT Smart Talk App on iPhone 4 - Can make call but receiver can't hear me

Switched to BT and the BT Smart Talk App appealed, which I've downloaded onro my iPhone 4.
Been through registration process with BT for Smart Talk App (after downloading IOS7.0) which went well.
However I've tried to make several calls and no-one can hear me.
The phones itself works perfectly in usual phone mode.
I have, of course, tried to resolve this with BT but got nowhere.
In fact I was given several possible reasons all of which I think they made up!
They are now due to call me next week.
I've heard of several strange solutions (one using a piece of cardboard being one!!) but I'm guessing I'm not the only one facing this challenge.

Go to settings :privacy:microphone:  then turn on access to microphone ,that should cure your problem

  • Some of my google talk contacts are not visible in the online list.

    Hello!
I have problems with some of my google talk contacts.
When they are offline - I can see them in the contact list (in offline group).
But when they are arrived online they disappear from the contact list. Thus I can't find them neither among online people, nor among offline. But I still can chat with them.
What can be wrong with the iChat?

    Hi,
I have seen this in a post before.
Unfortunately I can not remember of the top of my head what the issue turned out to be.
iChat can not turn the Jabber Buddy List to Invisible but that does not mean other clients can't. However you seem to think this is not the case.
A search here for Disappearing Buddies is likely to turn up all the AIM issue threads.
Are you using the Googlemail Web page at the same ?
I seem to remember I had an issue when I did this.
I would be tempted to delete com.apple.ichat.Jabber.plist and restart iChat to get the Login to Reset which may reset Flags on your Buddy List or your account info at GoogleTalk.

  • WiFi at home and Smart Talk

    Hello,
I've downloaded the Smart Talk app to my phone, received the e_mails and letters confirming my phone number(mobile) is registered.  Checked on-line and it shows me there.
Tried to make a couple of calls while " out and about ", no success, got error message on phone with a prompt to go to FAQ's.
Tried " at home" with the same result. ( via 192.168.1.x phone connects automatically when in range )
Looked for btwifi etc and couldn't see it, or them.
Checked my hub and discovered that BT WiFi wasn't " switched on" so clicked on the check status link and found that I was registered and had used some minutes.
    Here's the question:
How do I get this service to work ???? ( and not using the " disconnect everything and restart " option..
System shows I am registered so I don't want to attempt to register again and confuse it even more.
I can't "switch on" BT WiFi at my hub unless I register.
Before registering for Smart Talk I BT WiFi was switched on in my hub.
    Cheers..

Connecting to my HH via wireless ( 192.168.1.x ) now works although my BTFON isn't activated on my HH
    Here's an interesting point :
I remember that I [ cancelled ] the BT search option about a week ago, you know the one that suggests sites that you my be wanting.  Now that I have clicked the [ opt in ] for BTFON the search option has returned.
So........  Does cancelling the search option also opt out of BTFON ??  Opting in brings back the search option..
Are the two linked in some way ??
Remember I was opted in to BTFON before I installed Smart Talk..
I guess I've answered my own question
    Unless you know different !!!

  • Mobile phone broken - how do I move Smart Talk acc...

My mobile is broken beyond repair, so I can't use the 'Stop using Smart Talk on this Phone ' option suggested on BT help. I have several smartphones and Tablets registered to use it. On myBT the only option I have against the broken phone is to 'Remove User', but this says I will have to set the service up all over again. Is this what I have to do to be able to register my new phone, and if I do, will it affect all the other registrations?

When you registered SmartTalk on those devices, you had to create a new account on MyBT which was specific to that phone.
If you login to that account from a computer, there is an option to stop using SmartTalk on that phone. This will then remove the phone from your account.
You need to do this for each phone, by logging into the MyBT account for each on in turn. See this picture.

  • BT Smart Talk App Echo

When I use the smart talk app the recepient complains of echo and delay, so much so that a conversation is impossible. I have tried this app using a good WIFI signal in the US and from two UK addresses, but the result is still the same. I'm using a Sony Xperia U running Android 2.3.7. Is this a known problem?

There is a similar report here.
    https://community.bt.com/t5/Broadband-on-the-Go/Delay-and-echo/m-p/806374#M12698
It seem to depend a lot on the phone you use. I have a HTC Desire, and occasionally get a poor quality call, due to delays over the Internet, as the data from SmartTalk does not have any priority over other traffic.

  • How to turn off marketing texts about Smart talk?

I seem to constantly get texts from BT about using my mobile for using smarttalk to make calls
It says to text 61998 with Stop, to make them stop, but unfortunatly, the texts never go through, so the texts keep on coming.
Anyone know of a way to stop these freaking things?

Ah I think it's because the iphone keeps putting a space after the second digit.

  • BT Smart Talk - Initial Setup issue

    Hello
Ive downloaded the app for Android, gone through the setting up (ie are you at home...dials home number, enter pin, enter mobile, enter PIN....)  after this at the "setting up your account".....I get a message stating "sorry but we cant do this at the moment.  This is likely due to our systems experiencing heavy demand. We are working on it - please try again later. If problems persist please see our online FAQ".
Ive tried this a few times, including uninstalling the app, and going back through the the process of installing....but I still get the same message.
    Any help much appreciated
    Thanks Dean

  • Smart talk and Home Smartphone

I know this is unlikely, although with the app being on the home smartphone I thought it might work.
I wonderd if it was possible to get the home smartphone to be able to use smarttalk.
I had hoped I would have more call screening options on the home smartphone, but this does not seem to be the case. therefore to stop constant nuisance calls Ill have to unplug my phone again., but I still want a fixed option for outgoing calls just in case.
I am fuly registered for tele calls prevnetion I have been through all options to prevent the calls

This phone is a new one on me, so you may have to take this with a pinch of salt. Given that SmartTalk is an app specifically to enable smartphones to charge calls to a home phone account, I'm having difficulty seeing why the Home SmartPhone comes with the app installed. A quick look through the user guide (click Resources here if the phone doesn't come with one) doesn't help.
There may be something in there that helps, but the best suggestion I can make with little knowledge of the phone is to put it on silent mode and let the answerphone deal with callers. That should let you make outgoing calls normally and review any incomers at your leisure.

  • How do I get my talk talk address book/contacts onto I tunes?

We have one I tuines account but two I phones and an I pad. How do we associate our own talk talk contacts with our own device - please talk in very simple terms - really not computer literate!

  • What's the difference between creating a smart group or a group in contacts? Specifically, I want a friend to email her contacts to create a wedding list invite.

What's the difference between creating a smart group or a group in contacts? Specifically, I want a friend to email her contacts to create a wedding list invite.

On the Apple site explaining the smart group, it says the smart group contacts will automatically update. What does that mean? And for a wedding invite list, what would you recommend using. It's a very large wedding and we want to use those contacts to track invites, gifts, thanks yous, etc.
    Thanks in advance
