Smartcut for BQY/job

We are running Hyperion IR 11. I've got an issue I'm trying to resolve, and haven't found a way to do it yet. So I have imported a BQY as a job in Hyperion Workspace, and it processes its large amount of queries just fine weekly. We previously had a link to the BQY on one of our intranet websites, and the users could launch it and view the report. Since we've imported the BQY as a job to take advantage of this weekly query processing, I'm looking for a way to use a URL to this bqy/job so they can launch the report. Currently, the smartcut on the job takes them to the job and parameters.
You can open the report from the job, so was hoping I could link the the report somehow. Any way to do this, or any other recommendations altenatively? All in all, I just want the users to access the BQY by a URL, log into workspace, and its there in front of them.

The context in which you use the term "report" makes the term ambiguous. It may be the entire IR document, a report, a result, a dashboard, or something else entirely. To reduce ambiguity, I'll assume you actually mean report.
It sounds like you don't want users to see the bqy, but maybe a pdf of the report. Rather than dumping the "output" (bqy) to someplace on the Workspace, create a cycle to export or email a pdf of the report. Then you don't need a "smartcut" but only a URL or maybe even nothing.

Brio 8.2 BQY Job Date Parms

Hello,
I'm researching how to schedule jobs in Hyperion/Brio (8.2). I have setup some working BQY jobs, but have a question when setting up date limits. It gives me several options such as first of week, last of week, first of previous month, last of previous month for date limit options. Where do these come from? I would like to run a report on Monday for previous week data (Sat-Sun), but there are no first of previous week and last of previous week options.
Also -- I am doing a Friday run of the current weeks data using First of week & Last of week that works fine, but limits to (Sat-Fri). I was expecting (Sun-Sat).
Everything is setup using the default calendar with Sunday as the start day of the week.

IR can calculate the days between 2 days within the results section by simple formula ... EndDate - StartDate.
Actually I don't need to calculate the days in between. I have to calculate the start date using the logic explained below.
How are you having your user select a time frame like season to date or month to date and an end date ?
The users will be entering the Time Period using a Variable Limit.
Why do you need to use the database function?
The database function calculates the start date based on the End date and the Time Period. Ex Year to Date and 22-JUN-2010 will get the starting date of the year i.e. 01-JAN-2010. These 2 dates are used as start and end date in the report.
What is database?
We are using Oracle 10 database.

Attempting to use java api to publish .bqy jobs fails

Attempting to execute the AddBQYJob sample java program from the Hyperion SDK ...samples/java directory using a .bqy file, which published correctly using the Web browser interface, fails on the repository.loadBQYJob() method with the following message: com.sqribe.rm.ReportMartException: Could not obtain AuthorizationService TransientErrorRetryCall Afterward the bqy job appears when queried with the web browse interface, though no attributes have been set. Has any one gotten this batch load example to work correctly..?

I have found solution.
You have to export your .cer file as pkcs#7 (.p7b) file.
Open your .cer file, go to Details tab, click Copy to file... and select Cryptographic Message Syntax Standart - PKCS#7 Certificates (.p7b).
Use .p7b file with putCert command. It works for me.

Hyperion IR BQY job run successful few month but recently failed to export pdf and sending email

Anyone have encountered the problem that the BQY jobs which are running more than 3 years successfully. But recently no one update the report, but the job export keep failing to send result pdf to receivers intermittently.
It shouldn't be BQY job itself problem. Because this job has running years and fine. Only recent days comes out this problem. And user manually run the report can also be successful.
After checking the server log, find out that Hyperion IR retrieved data successfully but export-excel/bqy type file all works except pdf format. And in one week, some day it works fine. Some day it failed.
Trace in workspace job schedule log, it saying:
Emailing section 'xxxxxx' as 'PDF' to:
[email protected]
[email protected]
Export failed with unknown error.
And checked the server_message_IRJobService.log it just saying:
Error in export.[[
And
TCApp::ExecuteJavaScript failed:
We stuck at this error for a period of time. Anyone can help? Oracle Support has mentioned it might be system performance issue. Will keep an eye on this issue, to see any solution can be find.

Increase the memory for the Hyperion Framework Services
will test and see if it can solve the problem. For 'Hyperion Framework Service', do you mean 'Reporting and Analysis Framework'?
We only tried increase the parameter of "Job Service" and "Intelligence Service" which called Dynamic Service Properties set to "PROCESS_MEMORY_LIMIT=2500MB". But seems hyperion this 32bit application only can reach to 2047MB.
Our EPM version is 11.1.2.1.600.07.
a. We have increased the memory from 24G to 48G and add more memory for JobService (now it has 2 GB memory).
     For the provided solution.
     Set the filters in the query to return smaller amount of data
     We are still working on, but it seems slightly solve the "Error in export" problem.
b. We have confirmed the SMTP Server configuration is correct. So this solution not fit for our case. As the trouble job has been running more than 3 years, until recent month it starts with this error. And the job failed this error only happens intermittently e.g. Monday,Tuesday,Friday it all works fine(Proved the job it self is OK) but Wednesday some period, it failed to export. So we are thinking it might the hyperion performance issue.

Our case is customer can successful extract data and send excel/bqy result to customer with no problem. But it failed to send pdf result sometime.

Hi All.
I have this request.
BODS 3.1 : How to trigger an email alert for the jobs on BODS server ?
We have jobs scheduled on BODS running smoothly and absolutely fine.
But to check, i am logging into the admin console and check for the jobs status.
I would like to have an email to be received from BODS after each job is finished.
It could succuessful. Or it could fail.
Whatsoever, i wish to receive an email alert as soon as a job is finished.
Can anyone advise me as to whether this could be made possible.
And if yes, how this could be done.

In BOE CMC / for webi / schedule / we find an option to send email for a job success or a job failure.
Is there any option similar to that in BODS ?
Also would like to know :
how to use the smtp_to or mail_to functions ?
how to set up the smtp server for this ?

Hi.
Since am new to this BODS. I need some help.
I already have many jobs which are running absolutely fine.
And when a job runs, and finishes, am able to see the trace saying
e.g. :
Job_abc is completed successfully.
We got the smtp service activated for our test server.
and we hae a group email id.
I have put the details of the smtp server / ip address / and said apply restarted.
The i created a simple test script as below :
print (' Before email ' );
smtp_to('abc@company_name.com', 'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has FAILED',
' the job has failed', 0, 0);
print('After Email ');
It does send a email to as per smtp_to whatever email is specified.
But how to differentiate between a job success
And a job which has failed.
I wish to have a mail which says on the subject :
'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has completed successfully'
==> IF it is a success
OR
'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has failed'
==> if it has failed
How to make the system identify, whether
to send a success message or a error message whatever

Password report for EM jobs

We have multiple EM jobs that run against a node using the root password. Whenever the root password changes, we go in to each job and update the password. Sometimes, we miss a couple. Does anyone know if there is a location in the tables of the repository that give the date that the credentials for a job were last changed?

Job failure ( report RFFDKU00 scheduled for background job)

In this code as you see I can run the SUBMIT program with a specified user. But the creator of the job always becomes SY-UNAME. So is there a way to specify the user name for a job creator? I don't want to use SY-UNAME.

Hello Experts,
I am receiving an error whenever i am executing a java script file. I am calling the script in the below fashion.

Hope this helps.
context var is used if you want to pass values between tasks. If you are using in a job and you want to use values between passes, then you could use a job variable. Or if you want to calculate and use the values in same pass in the job, you can use a Hashmap.
