Smartfit for my zen nano plu

how do i enAble smartfit's thanks..

adamkapow wrote:how do i enAble smartfit's thanks..
When you connect your player it appears in the left pane of MediaSource. Click on it and a SmartFit button appears at the top - default is Off. If you click on Settings you can also set up the options for SmartFit i.e. enable/disable it and change bit-rate.
You can also use SmartFit in Zen Nano Plus Media Explorer which appears under My Computer when your player is connected.
WMP has a similar function when you Sync files to the player - select the Sync tab and the Settings icon on the right-hand side. On the Quality page are the settings for varying the bit-rate when you sync.

  • Belt clip for Creative Zen Nano Plu

Do Creative sell a Belt clip for the Zen Nano Plus ? If so where and if not where else might I get one ? I think its a great MP3 player but perhaps a bit on the flimsy side when I go jogging so would prefer an extra bit of protection. I used to have a Muvo N200 which is exactly the same size as the nano plus which came with a belt clip as standard.

Try this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=2600334793 not sure if it's used (says "sold as is") but better than my battery falling out (broken cover  ) everytime I go to the gym Message Edited by pokem02 on 07-30-2006 07:34 AM

  • "Zen Nano" and "Zen Nano Plu

I just bought a Creative Zen Nano 52Mb MP3 player at BestBuy.
But everywhere I read, I see "Creative Zen Nano Plus".
What is the difference beetween Nano and Nano PLUS?

I have had my ZEN NANO for year. Then I start getting the flaky power shutdowns. so I start surfing lookin for an answer. One common answer I got was "upgrade the firmware." Well I thought "why would it go now.. I've never done anything out of the ordinary" Anyway long story short DON'T I repeat DON'T update the FIRMWARE until you check one vital thing. Connect your NANO if it shows up in Windows- so far so good- open the the dri've whether it is d: or e: whatever. Then right click on the NANO dri've and go to properties you should get a screen that says "Removable Disk X: Properties" FILE SYSTEM SHOULD BE FAT if it is FAT32 you may get more space but you also set yourself up for all sorts of weird issues. I backed up my mp3's formatted my NANO to FAT and reloaded it, found I didn't have enuff room for song, but I haven't had a random shutdown since i reformatted.....

  • Battery Lid for Creative Zen Nano Pl

I have bought two Zen Nano Plus (gb) mp3 players two months ago.
Unfortunately the battery lid broke on both of them. I was able to find that
this is the common problem problem with this player:
    http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?p=7744
Besides this problem, the player itself is fantastic.
I have tried to find the lid at the local dealer but they to not have them.
Is it possible to order the battery lid somehow - I am in Croatia, Europe?
Also another question - will there be in the near future be another upgrade of the Zen model (like that was Zen for Muvo) - if that one will have better battery lid I am interested thent o buy that one in the future too?
I hope that lid will be redisigned.
Any answer will be very appreciated.

If you have broken two?covers, then I suppect you are a hard user.
Yes I am using players very often. I am listening daily?radio shows for a few hours and then I?am writing analysis and reviews of those shows.
If careful, they don't break. We have six of them here at my house?with no cover?breakage. The only one I gave as a gift, now has a broken tab. That owner just jamed the cover in place, so it was no surprise when it broke.
I think I am using the player normal and in daily situation - walking, in the bus etc... I have been able to find many examples of broken lid for Nano Plus that are available here:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...id=45600#M0239
    http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?p=7744
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=45686#M88234
Don't think that Creative is going to redesign the cover at this late date.
Well I didn't mean in the sense of re-design but in a sense of a new model that will upgrade Nano Plus. If new model will have better battery lid I would immediately transfer to another new and fresh model.
What is the current status of Nano Plus anyway? Has that model been replaced by any other new-upgraded model in the mean time?

  • Zen Nano Plu sprobl

Hope someone can help. Have had a Zen Nano Plus for a few months now and all was wonderful until today when while doing some gardeining?and listening to it in my pocket it went off. Switched it back on and it was on the tuning icon on the main menu. I can't now get out of tuning the icon, when I flick the switch to try and choose another icon it just goes up or down the FM wave band.Could anyone tell me how I can get off this icon and get back to listening to my mp3 files. I'm woking on my own tonight so I need some music to keep me sane. Cheers.

Load the driver on your pc, then load the latest firmware into the player. Choose the option to format the player. It will delete all the music on the player, so make sure you have copies of the music on your pc before you start the firmware upgrade.

  • Short video clips for the zen v plu

Are they like really short clips? Or like music video clips or longer? Thanks!!!

Creative only tend to put new firmware versions on their website. If you need the original firmware for your Zen V Plus to overcome a problem you will need to contact Customer Support.

  • Organizing songs for my zen nano p

help!!!! i've been looking and looking and trying and trying to figure out how to transfer tracks to my mp3 in a specific order or in specific groups!!!!! ie genre, mood, playlist, etc!!!! help me stop wasting time!!! thank you!!!!!

Everything on the flash-memory players is done by folders and file names. If you want a group of songs with the same genre then put them into a folder on your player with the name of your genre i.e. Rock. Put other songs into a different folder with the name of a different genre i.e. Pop.
It's the only way to do things on these players as they do not work off the ID3 tags (apart from song title).
Select the files you want in MediaSource and then transfer them across into you player - do it by choosing the dri've letter for your player in the My Computer list not the link to the player itself. Create the folder first.

  • Removing display screen for cleaning zen nano p

Is there a safe/easy way to do this? Quite a lot of dust has built up under the screen which can make it difficult to read in certain light conditions. Thanks.

    clarky3,
As a Creative Employee I could not suggest opening the player in any way even if I wanted to. But then again, it's your product and your warranty that is in jeopardy so the decision is ultimately yours. However, I cannot give instructions on how to take it apart.

  • Rescue mode for zen nano pl

Is there a rescue/recovery mode for the zen nano plus?

I doubt it, as it's basically a revised MuVo N200. Some of the MuVo's have a special mode you can put them in for updating the firmware, but as there is no firmware available for the Zen Nano yet there's no point in using it.

  • Headphones for Zen Nano P

Hello,?As it is not specified in its description page, I was wandering if normal headphones could be used for the Zen Nano Plus Mp3 Player, rather than the normal earphones. I'm talking of any headphones or earphones rather than those sold with the Mp3. The answer is probably quite obvious but as nothing was really specified, I keep wandering and I really don't want to end up having to use only earphones... ^^?Thank you for your help !

You can use any headphones with a 3.5mm stereo plug on the end, ideally ones with an impedance of 32 Ohms which is the same as the originals. 6 Ohm impedance 'phones/plugs will work but may sound quieter. There are a lot of threads where different 'phones are recommended. PB

  • Zen nano plus fold

I tried making a folder for my zen nano plus, but when i put a song in it it takes up memory, unlike my sisters zen micro.is there a way to make it not take up memory?

    Hey Guys,
I guess I'm what you might call computer stupid. I hope you don't think that I ask too many dumb questions. Well, here goes....
I recently purchased a Zen Nano Plus, GB. (I am really amazed at what this little thing can do.) As soon as I loaded the software into the cumputer, I went to Creative.Com and downloaded everything available for it. I ripped 6 CD's to it and ran out of memory. All songs were ripped in MP3 format without using the Smartfit option. I have ~220 songs on the player.
I copied all the songs over to a hard dri've, deleted all the songs on the Nano Plus, and tried to drag and drop them all back to the player using Smartfit and converting to WMA format. There wasn't enough space to get all the songs back on that I took off. I deleted all of them then d&d back to the Nano. The player is working fine in the shuffle mode.
Now that you have the background, here are my questions: First, Is this about the limit for MP3 format songs, or is there something I'm doing/not doing to get more songs onto it's Second, the help information isn't really clear to me as to what/when/if I should use the format/initialize options. Please educate me on this issue. Third, has anyone used an FM transmitter with the Nano Plus, and if so, which one do you recommend?

  • Zen Nano 1GB (not plus) not playing DRM audio bo

Okay. So I've read very similar problems here, but none quite like mine. I've read through my manual (actually, I only have the downloaded manuals, and there doesn't seem to be one for a Zen Nano GB... It's not a Plus and it's not a Nano 52MB).
My whole reason for purchasing my Nano was b/c it can play DRM audio files & I want to listen to audio book downloads.
In any case, I know not to drop and drag my DRM files, that won't work.
I got a (refurbished, works fine) Zen Nano GB a few weeks go. If I drag and drop regular mp3 or WMA audio files, they work fine. If I sync regular song files with WMP, they work fine.
It's the DRM files I'm having problems with. I tried sync-ing with WMP , (after opening the DRM file and obtaining the license (these are audio books from NetLibrary.com, and I've followed their instructions as well as those for the Nano). Once I've obtained the license, I sync. The audio book appears on the Nano, but will not play.
I tried updating (or, perhaps it was downgrading) the firmware, and then used WMP 9 to sync, and managed to get one audio book to play. I thought I was ready to go. It was awesome. The whole book played and I enjoyed it.... but... once I finished the book, and re-synced and tried to add a new book.... nothing.
I've re-installed various versions of firmware, tried on WMP and WMP 9 AND tried using Creative's own software to sync (after opening the files in WMP and obtaining the license)... Nothing. Lots of wasted time, tho.
I'm not quite a newbie with mp3 players or computers, but I am capable of "missing" something.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide & please let me know if I forgot anything specific that could aid in any solutions,
    MomLikesMusic (and audio books!)

To "downgrade" firmware (I don't have any idea if that's what it's really called, it's certainly not an upgrade!):
Through another posting on this message board, I found a link to this site:
    http://dapjukebox.altervista.org/mod...ownload&cid=85
which has other firmware versions available (some are still on the Creative downloads page as well, but the oldest ones are not). The site seems to be in Italian (?).
I downloaded and saved (and virus-scanned) the firmware of _0_02.
Then, I followed the installation instructions from another firmware download from Creative:
"To install this firmware, do the following:
    1. Download the [_0_02] file into your local hard disk.
    2. Make sure your player is connected to your computer.
    3. Double-click the downloaded file.
    4. If you are prompted to reset your player, click OK.
    5. If the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on the computer screen, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the wizard.
    6. When the firmware download dialog box appears, click Start and follow the instructions on the screen."
Because I had nothing on my player, I didn't have anything to lose, data-wise. And it worked. One of these days I may try to upgraded the firmware to see if I can still transfer...
I saved a few other firmware downloads (updates) to try in the future -- rather than go hunting for them again.
Please note, the Nano I have isn't listed in the Creative products -- the one I have says Creative Zen Nano GB on it; no where can I find such a thing. Since it's a factory refirbished model I bought off e-bay, I suspected older firmware may work on it... If you have a newer model, it may not work. I'm not an expert (this whole MP3 stuff still boggles my 37-year-old mind sometimes), so be careful what you do to your player!
    Good luck,
    ~MomLikesMusic

  • Problem with zen-nano-plus!! please help

i have the zen-nano-plus 52mb. and i try to update the firmware with latest version but i don't delete the music files in it.
i have started the instalation and the program asked me to delete the files on zen. (i didn't care keeping the files, so i continue the instalation)
when the program began to delete the files, after in few seconds i received an error messege from windowsoperating system reported error. the limit time on semaphore it's over.) now i have an 0.00.00 firmware version and i can't use the zen-nano because it's not starting. i have tried with the recovery tool but same situation it happend again. please help me if anybody knows something!!!!

Go to Creative.com and click the Support link. Look for the firmware driver for your Zen Nano and follow the directions. I had to do this to fix my Zen Nano Plus, because it had the exact same problem that yours had.
    Good luck!

  • Downloading a book on CD to my Zen Nano Plus mp3 pla

Does anyone know the best way to download a cd book to my Zen Nano plus Player?
    thanks
    pejid

I have a MuVo TX FM for audio books, but I imagine the procedure would be the same for your Zen Nano.
There may be faster/easier ways, but this is what I do:
I use the "Free CD Ripper" (http://koyotstar.free.fr) to rip the CDs to MP3 files on my computer. Each disk's files are stored in a separate folder. I use the book name and disk number for the album name (e.g. Book Title 0). Go to the configuration screen to set the file name to be Album - Track (%A - %N). I find ripping at 48Kbps is sufficient for my ear and it saves space. After that, I can just copy the folders to my player and listen. On my player everything is played in alphabetical order, so the above naming scheme works quite well.
As an improvement, you can use MP3 Book Helper (http://mp3bookhelper.sourceforge.net/) to rename the tracks from "Track 0" to include the book name, disk number and track: "Hobbit 0-05". On my player there is about 6 characters of space available for displaying the track name while playing and it is nice to easily see where you are in the book.
Finally, note that some Creative players have a 40 folder and 500 file limit on what they can detect/play. So you need to be careful not to overfill your player. It won't hurt it, but some files and folders won't be playable. To fully use the space available, you could use an MP3 Joiner to combine the files together in order to stay under the limit. At this point I haven't bothered with this step since I can still store two books without exceeding the limit.
    Good luck,
    Doug

  • I have a Creative ZEN Nano Plus

Can someone tell me how or direct me to the advantage on the Line In connection. How do I plug in to and transfer music from another CD or device to put music on my Player ?TC

I'm a bit unclear on how you do direct Line In recording, as I don't have a Zen Nano Plus- my brother does. We tried it a few times, but found that it was much faster to rip the CDs on the computer and transfer from it, rather than wait for the Zen Nano Plus to copy the CD in real time.
However, the Zen Nano Plus manual gives these instructions:
    Synchronizing MP3 encoding
If you are encoding songs from a CD or MiniDisc, enable Sync Track (SYNC) so that your player will encode the songs from your source as separate tracks. Your player will automatically stop when the last song is played. Sync Track is enabled by default.
In the MP3 Encoding screen, press the Scroller.
Scroll Select the Sync Track option and turn Sync Track on or off. When Sync Track is turned on, appears at the top right corner of the MP3 Encoding screen.
