Smartform as PDF in Web Dynpro for ABAP

Hello Experts,
I have developed one Web Dynpro application in which i am trying to show PDF converting from smart from on button click.
I am seeing blank screen when i try to display PDF? But when i check i debugging data passed successfully to context element.
PDF source property mapped to review context element.
I used below code to show PDF in view method:
call function 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'

call function 'SSFCOMP_PDF_PREVIEW'

Looks quite alright, but since you only have provided a few function modules, there is 'no' way of telling what is going wrong. I can however give you a link and compare your coding with the one from the tutorial:

Hi Daisuke,
As per your requirement, to get done your work you need to create two Adobe Forms , one is for Offline Interactive Form and other is Online Interactive Form.
In offline Interactive you design your form and define the Layout type as zci layout and Abap Dictionary Based interface. And by executing the form you can save the form to your desktop.
Now in online Interactive Form you create the context similar to the one which has been created in the Offline Interactive Form. Now in one view you define the file upload functionality and in other view you define the adobe interactive form, for this the interface is automatically as it asks for the context and its of type XML based interface, also do maintain the context variable something like "PDFDATASTRING" with type XSTRING in the Component Controller and now in adobe view you give the property pdfstring as "PDFDATASTRING" and dont forget to provide the navigation of these two view, and set the File Upload View as default view.
The above functionality can help you in some way or the other.

Text editing in Web Dynpro for ABAP

Hi
I am interested in getting ideas on the best way to achieve the following functionality in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
1) A text-editor where some basic formatting is possible (Italic, Bold, etc.) for the user to enter formatted text.
2) Save this text in some format to the dictionary maintaining the text formatting.
3) This saved text should appear on a PDF printview from the WebDynpro. Of course the formatting should appear on the screen as it was created with the text-editor.

Web Dynpro for ABAP API Documentation

Hi,
Having worked on WDJ development, I am used to look up Java Doc like the following:

Is there something similiar in Web Dynpro for ABAP world? I am using the document WD ABAP NW2004s SPS8 as a reference. It does list methods of the popular interfaces and classes. It is very helpful but lacks the details on hierachies and parameters.
Also, is there a complete class diagram for the interfaces and classes used in Web Dynpro for ABAP?

I checked the link and it contains the same information as the document I mentioned. The only difference is that one is in PDF and the other is html. Here is the link to the PDF document.

However, I did find a blog which serves part of the purpose. I used SWDP_RUNTIME_CORE as the package and it generated HTMLs for all the classes in the package. Highly recommended!

Web Dynpro for ABAP iview window question ...

Hi, I have a web dynpro for abap iview that calls a web dypro for abap program in ECC that generates a PDF document.
It works perfectly, except when the iview is launched it opens a blank iview page and then opens a separate window in which the PDF is displayed. Does anyone know how to suppress the blank iview window?
Can I suppress it in the ABAP for Web Dynpro program in ECC or is there something on the portal in the web dynrpo for abap iview that I can do?

HCM Processes & Forms : Migrating from JSPs to Web Dynpro for ABAP

We are pretty well invested in HCM Processes and Forms. We currently use JSP based forms as the UI for our notifications. We do not, use Adobe Forms.
For a number of reasons, we want to transition to forms based in Web Dynpro for ABAP.
We want to bring a new scenario online using WD4A. Down the road, weu2019ll very likely transition our old JSPs over to the new methodology as well.
I would expect that this is pretty well doable. As part of a proof of concept, we did launch notifications from the web dynpro environment, had them initiate workflow, etc . Weu2019ve also pulled up our web dynpro app from the UWL and portal.
Has anyone gone through this specific exercise u2013 moving from JSPs to WD4A? We are particularly interested in where the integration points will be, working with ISR_PROCESS_EVENT, etc.
Your comments, suggestions, references, etc. are welcomed, as well as any discussion you may offer.

We currently use the ITS Service type. I think this may be our first direction, replacing url links with links to our webdynpro application which woulds need to integrate calls through ISR_PROCESS_EVENT
The Adobe Type seems interesting - Again, we do not, nor will, have Adobe Forms in place for this development. But, I've read some discussion that folks have enhanced out of actual Adobe Form rendering.
Again, the thoughts of the community are welcomed here.

New to web dynpro for abap

HI Team.
I am new to web dynpro for abap .
I am trying to develop a sample application using web dynpro for abap
for that I am making use of SAP ECC 6.0 system.
I created the the application by following steps in pdf.
It is a program which makes use of BAPI_FILGHT_GETLIST
I have created city from and city to two input fields once i enter the data and click on serach flights
it must display all the filght details in a table format
Problem i am facing is that data is not coming into the table.once i click the button.
Do I need to perfrom any settings like rfc destinations ?
I do not think so because I am trying to make use of the bapi which in the ecc 6.0 system

You posted your question in the wrong forum. This forum is for Business intelligence.
Did you activate your Web dynpro component? You can do it in the transaction SICF.
In this transaction, you can expand according to the below path..
/default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/<your webdynpro component>.
Here you right click and YourWdComponent and select Activate.

N4S: Web Dynpro for ABAP layout editor not working

Have problem in Layout editor in Web Dynpro for ABAP
I have installed NW04S Testdrive on 64bit Linux and able to login.
SE80 is working alright.
Next I create a Web Dynpro Comp. / Intf. and create a component.
I double click on the View name "V_Default" . The Layout editor opens on the right side. Change into Edit Mode.
The "View Elements" panel on the left side of layout editor is missing. This is where we select the various elements like "Textview" etc.
Even the right click on the "ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER" to insert elements using context menu does not work.
In summary I am not able to add any element in WD4A Layout screen.
Is there any special plugin required to be installed?
How to solve this problem?

This is available with netweaver 2004s (WAS7.0) for which ramp up is going on right now and the general availability is expected sometime around 1st quarter for 2006.

Import Data from Office Control (Web Dynpro for ABAP) into internal-Table

Hello,
I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control into a internal-table?
I have an Excel-sheet (without any data) which is shown initially in the Office Control. First the empty Excel-Sheet will be loaded and in the second step data from an alvxml-transformation will be loaded into the Excel-sheet with the method 'activatexmlsource'. This works so far. When I change the loaded data in the Office Control and save it it will be stored as XLS-File. The problem is that I'm not able to use existing Upload-FM because every function module I tried uses GUI-functions and WebDynpro has no GUI-functionality. I always get the error that data from clipboard cannot be imported.
So now the question is:
How can I import changed data from the Office control into a internal-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.

Hi,
Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

How to call "compensation profile" iView in ECM from Web Dynpro for ABAP

Pop up view in Web Dynpro for ABAP

Hi,
I am new in web dynpro for ABAP. Now I am facing a problem of how to make a view pop up.
Since I had already create some table in this view. I just want to make it pop up after I click a button. But I had no idea to do it, could anyone tell me how to do it?

Hi Ho,
For POp up view please follow the below steps.
1. Create one view [Ex:popup_view] and design it as per your requirement.
2. Create one window [Ex:popup_win] and embed the popview_view into pop up window.
3. Then write the below code when ever you need a pop up window.
data: l_cmp_api           type ref to if_wd_component,
        l_window_manager    type ref to if_wd_window_manager.
l_cmp_api           = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
l_window_manager    = l_cmp_api->get_window_manager( ).
if wd_this->m_popup1_1 is initial.
    wd_this->m_popup1_1 = l_window_manager->create_window(
             window_name = 'POPUP_WINDOW'
             button_kind = if_wd_window=>co_buttons_ok
             message_type = if_wd_window=>CO_MSG_TYPE_STOPP ).
