  • Share PDF Save Presets

I'm looking for a simple way to share PDF save presets.  Ideally, some kind of package I can email to both Mac and PC users for use in both Acrobat Pro XI and Illustrator CS6.  Would likely be used mostly in saving .ai to PDFs in Illustrator.
Manually describing save settings through email always leads to user-inaccuracy.  Would be great if there was a file type that, when opened, just plugs itself into relevant programs with PDF export or save options.
Would really appreciate some help on this!

I made a custom PDF preset called HQS_150ppi. It's been saved into the path I wrote about. Note the .joboptions extension:
In InDesign CS6, it's shown in the Export > Adobe PDF (Print) dialog box or File > Adobe PDF Presets. In Illustrator CS6, it's shown in Save As > Adobe PDF (pdf) dialog box or Edit > Adobe PDF Presets:

  • Adding bar codes to printer device for smartforms pdf conversion?

I would like to send a smartform as a pdf to an email recipient. The smartform shows some bar codes. The send process workes fine. But the bar codes doesn't appear on the pdf correctly. Therefore I would like to add bar codes to the printer device type in transaction SE73.
Does somebody know the device type for smartforms pdf conversion? Or how can I add bar codes to smartforms pdf conversion process?

  • Optimize PDF Save

    Hi,
In our project, we are doing some image processing operations on images in PDF pages.
For that we will do following steps:
    1.       1. Extract image from PDF page. (Getting image as uncompressed format)
    2.       2. Do image processing operation.
    3.       3. Flatten the processed image into PDF page.
While doing these steps, our PDF file size getting increased.
For that, we decided to do OptimizePDFSave Operation after step3 and confirmed that PDF file size is reduced.
Code used for Optimize PDF Save operation:
Here we are using JPGE compression type for images (“Standard” parameter).
Customer feels like JPGE compression is loss compression type.
Customer is expecting same image compression type available in PDF image content.
Please help us to resolve the issue.

What is the issue, exactly? JPEG is lossy, certainly. What was the original compression on the images? Why don't you just compress the images as you write them rather than later using the optimizer?
    I'm afraid I don't understand your code. Why would a plug-in send a WM_CLOSE message to Acrobat?

Is there a way to have PDFs save to ICloud but accessible through IBooks?

The Cloud is for Apple-purchased items only. To get pdfs across multiple devices, you can email them, sync them through itunes or save to an app like Dropbox (a cloud-based service) and open in iBooks.

    Hi,
    Jayita2011 wrote:
    LV_X = WA_PDF-TDLINE.
As WA_PDF-TDLINE is type C, and LV_X is type X, it does a conversion BUT it is not what you expect: LV_X = 'RMjlùIOJM%8RUZ3T', it will set LV_X = all zeroes as 'RM...' does not start with an hexadecimal string (and so base 64 would return AAAAAA). See the ABAP doc for more info.
Moreover, base 64 encoding must be done with the whole byte stream (more precisely you must not split it outside chunks of 3 bytes, as this encoding converts 3 bytes into 4 characters, converting 2 bytes makes no sense for example, except at the end of the stream).
I advise you to use CL_HTTP_UTILITY=>ENCODE_BASE64 which converts a string which is casted as bytes. Before, you must concatenate the lines into a string, either using CONCATENATE LINES OF lt_char INTO l_target RESPECTING BLANKS, or SWA_STRING_FROM_TABLE (keep_trailing_spaces='X') depending on your release. Don't forget to shorten the string at exactly the number of representative characters (LV_I in your example).

  • Smartforms PDF format

    Hi Experts,
Is their any options available to show smartforms in PDF format from standard transactions like vf02, without changing the Driver program.
I assigned in NACE transaction as smartform type as PDF but inspite of that the smartform is not coming in pdf format.
    Please help me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Birendra Kumar

    hi,
There is a way to download smartform in PDF format.
    Please do the following:
<b>1. Print the smartform to the spool.
    2. Note the spool number.
    3. Download a PDF file (Acrobat Reader) version of the spool by running Program RSTXPDFT4 and entering the noted spool number.</b>
    or.
    <b>Migrating a PDF-Based Print Form</b>
           1.      Go to the Smart Forms initial screen (transaction SMARTFORMS).
           2.      Choose Utilities> Migration> Interactive Form--> Export.
           3.      In the dialog box, enter the name of the Smart Form that you want to migrate, the name of the PDF-based target form, and the target interface. The system suggests the name of the Smart Form as the name for the target form and target interface. You can change these names. The target form and the target interface can have different names.
           4.      Choose Continue.
           5.      The system displays the Settings dialog box where you can flag various options for migration. To activate the selected options and close the dialog box, choose Continue.
To view additional information about a particular option, select the option, and press F1.
           6.      In the dialog box Create Object Directory Entry, enter a package for the interface, or save it as a local object.
           7.      Assign the form to a package, or save the form as a local object.
           8.      The system migrates the form.
           9.      If no errors occur during the migration, you can activate the new interface and the PDF-based form. If you see an error message, read Migration with Errors or Warnings below.
    <b>Activating an Interface and PDF-Based Print Form</b>
If the form was migrated without errors, the system returns a corresponding message. You now have a PDF-based form (consisting of a form and interface) that you can edit. Initially, migrated forms and interfaces are always inactive and therefore have to be activated before a call can be made from the application.
To activate or edit the form, choose Utilities> Migration>Interactive Form-->Edit.
The system displays the initial screen of the form builder for PDF-based forms. After you have activated the form, you can "switch runtime" as described below.
    <b>Switching Runtime</b>
To call the PDF-based form from the application without changes to the ABAP program and formal parameters, proceed as follows:
           1.      Choose Utilities>Migration> Interactive Form-->Switch Runtime.
           2.      In the dialog box Switch Runtime, enter the name of the Smart Form and the name of the PDF-based form. In the Runtime Type field, select the form that you want to output at runtime.
           3.      If the PDF form is assigned to a transportable package, you have to assign the runtime switch to a transport request. If this is the case, the system automatically displays a corresponding dialog box.
    <b>Migration with Errors or Warnings</b>
If errors or warnings occurred during migration, and the Smart Form was migrated only partially or not at all, a log is displayed. This log is written to the application log and is kept in the system for a week.
To display the log within this time period, choose Utilities>Migration>Interactive Form-->Display Log.
A log is generated for each migration run. If you migrate a Smart Form more than once, you receive multiple logs. Select a log to see the list of the properties that were not or only partially migrated. Each message in the log starts with the node name from the Smart Form, which enables you to identify the source of the error in the form.
    regards,
    Ashokreddy.

    Thank you.

    Hi Josh,
"I reinstalled bullzip to the latest version before it crashed."
Do you mean you have tried to reinstall the bullzip to resolve the issue or it crashed after we performed a reinstallation. There is a possibility the installation of the software has corrupted .
"Recently, one of my user encounter PDF and Chrome crashes whenever she attempts to save or to open a pdf document."
Will the issue only occur when we try to open an  PDF file from the Chrome online or  even occur when we open a local pdf file  ? This will help us to troubleshoot whether it is caused by the browser.
If it only occurred online ,please try to use another browser to have a check .If that is the issue ,you may need to look for help from the Chrome browser forum for help.
If it occurred with the local files .How many PDF browser do we have ?
We can check the present pdf file association and try to recreate the file association to have a check.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\ Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
Apart from this ,we should check the registry at the same time.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts
