Output Tray 2 does not work when we print a smartforms document immediately

Dear printer specialists,
we've the following issue:
We are printing the same smartforms document in different plants. One plant decided to get the print output into output tray 2 of the printer (lower tray), so we've copied the standard device type into a z-device type and made the SPAD set-up with a preselection for the tray 2 (lower tray). The new device type has been assigned to the output device. Now we made a test and released the print-output for an immediate printing. The output was printed as before in tray 1 (upper tray). When we restart the output from the spool (SP01), the output will be printed in tray 2. Why does this not work, when we print immediately ? Does anyone know how to solve this problem ? (We don't want to change the smartforms document.)

Check if there is a different tra setting in the smartform itself.
/nsmartforms -> <Form> -> Pages and Windows -> FIRST, NEXT, TERMCOND -> field Resource Name

How to place two tables at a time in every page in a smartform?

Hi All,
I have a requirement in a smartform where i need two tables in every page. These tables should repeat on every page with regard to the data thats getting populated in it.If one table has more data it should not push the second table completely from the page.
Can anyone please give me a solution.

If you see in real time printing of Smartform documents like PO or SO or Invoice
we will see two tables data one is header data which will have a single record per document and Item data which will have mulitple records.
So header data is fixed in all pages and the Item data is printed in MAIN window and overflows to other pages depending on the data.
SO Item table data will be printed in number of pages where as the Header table data will pe constantly printed on the header part(top part) of every page.
so you can handle the 2 internal tables data as above

Documents are not printed in tray selected

Hello all,
I met one problem to print some Spool Orders in one specific tray.
One phisical printer is created twice in SAP :
- one printer for one tray (ex : tray2)
- one printer for the other tray (ex : tray3)
Tray1 is not used.
When i'm printing SmartForms documents, they are printing in the selected tray, but some others documents (ex: SAPScipt documents) are printing to the default tray of the phisical printer but not in one selected.
Did somebody met this problem and succeeded to resolve it, please ?

hi François,
I have 1 suggestion.. for u r problem.
in SPAD u will define the OUTPUT TYPES for the output types we have a option to select-->OUTPUT ATTRIBUTES Tab.. here u can give the Default Tray as you want.in PAPER TRAY(u'll find it bottom of output attribute tab).
I hope u r problem will be solved by changing the output type settings

Calling smartform application in ITS

Hi all,
I am workin on SRM 5.0 with integrated ITS.I have created a custom report and assigned a tcode to it as well as created an internet service for it.
Now i have added the tcode for the report in my SRM roles so that it is displayed as link in the ITS screen.However in my report i have a custom icon on the screen on click of which i call a custom smartform.I need to display this smartform in ITS.(In ITS.all forms are displayed in PDF format).However when i click on the custom icon in ITS,it doesnt open the smartform application.
Can anyone pls explain me the steps for calling a smartform in ITS?
ALL suggestions will be appreciated and rewarded.

Convert Adobe Form to SMARTFORM

Hi,
is it possible to convert a form created with adobe form builder to a SMARTFORM document?
I need to upload a PDF or DOC document into a SMARTFORM. This seems not to be possible. So I used Adobe for this upload. But now I can't convert it to a SMARTFORM document...
Can this problem solved?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi Gabriel,
as far as I know, SAP does not deliver any tools to support conversion between smartforms and pdfs ... I did it manually, which is a pain in the neck ...

Dynamic Textid Include in Smartform

Hello Everybody,
i want to include text in my smartform
the text id name will be number of my billing document no which will be dynamic.
in sapscript we can insert this way
INCLUDE &ZTDNAME& OBJECT TEXT ID ST.
but if in smartform i had try same but not working
can anybody pls suggest me what will be the paragraph format for include text id in smartform
and why my text id's text not coming..

U might have created a text element and wrote this sapscript command.
In smartforms this is done differently,
First create a text.
Now select type of text in the drop down as include text.
Now it will ask u for text id and object language etc.

Xml output from smartforms

Hi,
I need to get xml (xsf?) output from I-SU Print Workbench/Smartforms document. Has anybody done this? I would apriciate some hints of how to solve this?

Smartforms and the master language

I defined the invoice as a smartform document.
The master language is english and i set the language attributes to "Do not translate" and the access to "Restricted language control".
The document shall always be printed in english independant of the communication language of the bill-to party.
As far as i know from Sapscript the system will use the document in the master language, if the communication language does not exist. Nevertheless all standards text included (without a fix language parameter ) in the sapscript form will be selected/read in the communication language. ( F.e.: Because the communication language of the bill-to party is german, all standard text of the invoice will be created in german. )
How can i realize this in Smartforms?

The master language for a Smartforms is the language used while was creating, so your logon language.
Now when the smartform is called the system load all texts of the masterlanguage, but in the CONTROL_PARAMETERS parameter of function module generated by sf, you can indicate other languages:
LANGU       -
Master Language
REPLANGU1   -
Second Language
REPLANGU2   -
3°     Language
REPLANGU3   -
4°     Language
If field LANGU is empty (here you can transfer the comunication language), master language is the smartform language.
The system'll try to print the text for language stored in LANGU, if there isn't it'll try to print the text in language stored in REPLANGU1 and so...
If the smartform isn't translate it'll always use the master langue of sf.

Faxing Smartforms

I built a custom smartform report that i need to fax to a vendor. My problem is i'm not sure how to get the form to SAPconnect. This is a custom developed report it is not the output of any standard SAP application, therefore there is no standard message determination being invoked. I have two questions about this process...
1.) Where is smartform suppose to output the form after it creates the form?
2.) Is there a program that is called to pass the smartform document on to SAPconnect?
I'm a novice to smartforms and the sap library does not give much detail on this feature.
If you could please take the time to be very detailed and/or descriptive in your response that would be very helpful.

HI friends,
Im working on Check script form whereas i find difficulties whiel printing the details in original cheque thru Dot matrix printer.
The problem is, the name of the bearer (text) when printing in the row line is going differently on each document no. including the amount in words and figures.If is set for one document correctly,it may differ in another document.
Pls advise, how i can set it correctly or it'll be better if i go by Smartform.
The current calling program is script based one.if its good to go by Smartform,then if anyone having std program for Smartform print, pld post it on ur reply.(SAP ECC6.0 version)

This is a printer problem.Try to adjust your printer settings.

Smartforms: print accompanying documents

Hi,
I have to reproduce in Smartforms the same output as the existing legacy system.
Legacy system automatically outputs
1)A Quotation
2)A Condition of Sale document (always printed out)
(PDF file, 2 pages, contents are numbered and appear in
   2 columns on each page).
3)A technical document (only printed if a criteria is
satisfied in the logic within the Quotation)
(PDF file, 1 page, contents appear in 2 columns on the
   page [which includes some technical drawings])
Smartforms
I have no problem reproducing the Quotation in Smartforms but not so sure how to output the 2 accompanying documents automatically with the Quotation.
Currently, the Smartforms has the following design:
1) First page
2) Next page
Question
a)Does anyone know how to get the 2 PDF files printed automatically with the Quotation without having to bring the contents into Smartforms?
b)If the PDF contents of the 2 files has to be integrated into the Smartform, what would be the best approach?
Bear in mind that one of the documents contain technical drawings.
Am thinking it would be good to create at least another page (ie LAST page) and maybe incorporating the contents of the 2 files in there somehow (maybe the technical file as a scanned object and the other file contents contained in multiple windows of the LAST page). No MAIN window in the LAST page.
Would my proposed approach work? Any ideas, anyone?
c)Have been playing with the order sequence of the different pages. Have not got it quite right yet?

SMARTFORM: How to print on document per row in an internal table

Hi.
I have created a SmatForm that is a one-page document to be printed once for every row in an itab I'm sending it via the Table Interface.
I hope I didn't waste my time designing this form but I created several Windows for each section (header, recipient address, summary of coverage, detail coverage information, disclaimer, etc.). I arbitrarily chose the header window as the "main" window (mainly because I couldn't find out what the difference between the different choices was). I've got the form laid out exactly how I want it.
If I test the SmartForm and pass in 2+ records via the test screen only the first one prints.
I thought about trying a LOOP but since you have to place the text within the loop that means all the Windows I have defined won't "get" any of the data.
I thought about looping in the driver ABAP program and just calling the SmartForm once per row but that seems horribly inefficient.
PLEASE HELP! Can I salvage what I've done already?

OK. I'm trying this and running into a snag.
In the Form Interface section I have a table interface parameter defined as this:
P_CERTIFICATES_IN TYPE ZBNTT_LIFECERTIFICATE
next I declared a variable named "IT_CERTIFICATES LIKE LINE OF P_CERTIFICATES_IN" in the "Global Definitions" section and on my LOOP element (under my new MAIN window) I have "[X] Internal Table" checked and
"P_CERTIFICATES_IN" "INTO" "IT_CERTIFICATES"
but the compiler says "Global Definitions Field "P_CERTIFICATES_IN" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement . . . . . .".
Why can't the Smartform "see" P_CERTIFICATES_IN?
