Smartforms font

hi folks,
I have a question related to printing the particular font in the printer.
I have a scan line that I need to print at the bottom of the smartform and its font size is (MICR FONT SIZE 12). I have them in the smartstyle and it is showing in the print preview of the form. But the printer is not taking the font.
The basis guy told me that I had to include some sort of escape sequence in the abap program to call that MICR Font so that the printer can identify.
I have not worked on it before. If any of you folks can give me leads on it. that would be really helpful.

Hi,
You can create your own styles in transaction SMARTSTYLES. Then, in your smartform, you have to add the style you have created in the "output options" tab screen of the text elements.

Smartform Fonts issue

Hello.
I'm converting a smartform to pdf in a report. Here I see the result with the font I specified in styles (Helvetica) but customer views it different with Courier font.
I just don't know what the problem is... Please help, this is urgent. Reward points...

In include LSTXWFPL (line 1371) which is used during processing of CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF, I found this statement:
fontsize = 120.
This fontsize is then used when calling further function modules in the processing of CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF, like in FONT_EXCHANGE_ADD2TABLE. If I change this fontsize value manually during debugging, say to 70, the PDF file is generated with the correct layout (suitable fontsize).

Smartform - Font Issue

Hi Experts,
I am having font issue in smartform.
I have created style as zz_style, using Helve, 9.
In smartform z_smartform, I set in output options tab in Form Attribute to use style zz_style.
But somehow the output comes out with different font format.
I expect that when I set the style in form attribute -smartform, it should by default follow the style that I have set, isnt it work that way? Please advise. Thanks.

click on the text you want to have the format, in there hit a button to go to the SAP script editor and in the left column mention the paragraph format you want to use.

Smartforms / Font and Lanscape printing issue

Hello,
        I have developed a smartforms which is in landscape format. When I look at the output which is a pdf the smartform appears to ignore all of the smartstyles that are associated with it so all of the details are printed exactly the same size. Therefore, details as such line items are not appearing in the smaller size fonts I have specified.
      What is more confusing is that I have another similar smartform which is in portrait format and the output which is a pdf appears to work correctly. All the details on the output are in the correct sizes. Both of these smartforms use the same smartstyle and are being output from the same laser printer.
     Is there some known issue where the fonts are ignored when being output in landscape by a laser printer?

I'm assuming you are using the SAME fonts/sizes (not different ones as the other poster mentioned) and that's the reason for the confusion. This is usually due to device type configuration and there are a couple of things you can check (or get the Basis Admin to help you out):
- Set your default printer in Windows appropriately and then print the spool or spool preview to LOCL. Does this work? If so, you've definitely got an SAP device type config issue.
- Go to SPAD and look at the device type assigned to your output device. Then look at the page format assigned to your device type. Is your landscape page format assigned (it should be, otherwise you would get an error when printing)? If so, compare the two page formats assigned to the device type - are they the same? Do you have any initialization sequences assigned to one and not the other? Or are the sequences different?
- If all else fails, double-check that the devices and user IDs used for the PDF conversion are the same

Smartform font control in Windows 7 OS.

As far as I investigate some issues about smartforms, I couldn't get any promising answer. The problem is about the prinouts, which come from the smartforms to dot-matrix printer, of which font is larger than usual. It happens only in Windows 7 OS. In Windows XP OS, I never encounter such a problem. My printer settings are:
     Letter dimension: Letter Fanfold 8 1/2 x 11 in
     Quality: 120X72 dots per inch
     Printer: EPSON DFX-9000 ESC/P

We still don't have enough info, I'm afraid... where does the Windows XP/7 start to play a role if the access method is U, for example? What driver does the device type ZI9WIN use?
In general, you can tell SAP to retain the file that it sends to printer (printer server) by selecting the "Retain print file" in device type maintenance in SPAD. Access using menu Edit->Test tool in SPAD:
You can make a copy of the file after printing then, in SP01->Output requests; Display Output request->Internal Information:
That should help to analyse if the print files differ for "Windows 7/XP printing" in some significant way (they should not IMO). If they do not, then you might have problem with the printer server software in that it adjusts something in the SAP print file... (which is highly doubtful IMO).

Issue with Smartform Font Style/Size

Hi All,
I have created some paragraph formats with font style "Times" & size such as 8,9,12 pt.
Used the same in some smartforms, which is working fine in my testing server. When I transported the same to my quality server the output of Smartforms are displayed in font style " Courier " .
I checked all the objects in Quality server, it's as t is in Testing server.
Times font is also available in Quality server/
Could anyone of you can suggest anu solution for it ?

you have to transport that particular smartstyle in which you have creted paragraph formats and char formats.. so transport the styles too to quality.

Smartform font problem

Hi All,
I have a problem with font while printing , iam not able to get the same font sizein form for a text while printing for example i had given the font size 35 for a text but while giving the printer name in output device LOCL (local printer) its printing as same size with 35 pt, but when i am giving the output device as NWL404(printer name) the text is printing with highest font size 15 or 16 on the output. Can you please suggest how can we solve this issue, This is an urgent requirement .Points are awarded imm.

You have to check the compatibility with the printer for the fonts.

Smartform font spacing Issue when using SAP printer name

Hi Friends,
I am facing some spacing issues when printing a form using SAP printer name. If I use LOCL then the output comes perfectly but when I use the SAP printer name the space between characters are getting widened and so the alignment of each column goes wayward. I suspect it could be due to the device type but not sure which seeting controls this. There is a similar problem in the logo as well. When using LOCL the logo comes out good but when using the printer name the quality is not good and becomes pixelised. Have any of you faced similar issues? Can you provide some guidance or pointers for the solution.
Device type of LOCL : ZSAPWIN
Device type of SAP printer name : ZHPLJ5
CPI is defined in smartform as 10.

Hi,
This problem occurs because the printer driver for both the printers are different,
I suggest you use Local printer only or configure any other printer with printer diver in SAP as SAPWIN.

Smartforms: Fonts r diff in my downloaded PDF from PreView in Gen Attribute

I m using ZSD_SMART_STYLE for my forms .
Header =>tab stop 1 cm char/inch 10 lines/inch 6
      font Cuorier 10
Praragraph=>L -> font blank ,left aligned , line spacing 1 line
Character format=>
   Title TI-> times 12 Bold
Win Title WT -> times 9 Bold
   Item IT -> courier 8
But i m seeing some unexpected Junk fonts in all Window title , others r fine
And 1 more prob -> item is not bold its showing in bold .

Smartforms font change after saved.

当我打开smartforms时字体形状不和原来的smartforms字体形状相似各个英文字符间距发生了变化，就像中文的字体发生了变化，首先声明本人并没有改字体！也没有其他操作，就是打开后就发生了变化！

终于知道原因所在了，原来是smartforms一定要使用原语言进去（即使在用正本语言维护也不行）！已经搞定，谢谢各位的帮助！

Fonts problem with Smartforms...

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem with fonts in smartforms.
My smartforms fonts are working fine in testing server but not working fine in development server. We work like after development we transport the object to stage (Testing) & then to production. I see the last modifications done were 1 st may 2008 but in development the last changes are shown 7th July 2008. So what I think is the object is not completely transported to testing server? What could be the other reason please let me know ASAP.

Smartforms as email body looses format

Hi experts,
I´m using Badi BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF to change standard Smartforms, and when I use parameter CV_SMARTFORM_MAIL to send my own form, I see the result on tr. SCOT without any of the Smartform font styles, and format; it´s only plain text there!
Can anybody help me?

I really apreciate your help, thank you very much.
However, none of this Notes where helpful since we already have implemented Support Package 13, which includes all of them (Notes have been available with SP 12 and previous).
Regarding to the thread provided, I´m doing exactly that: just changing Smartform_mail parameter inside de Badi with my own form, and I get the Smartform data inside the mail body, but without any format or style: it´s like the whole Smartform were converted into plain text.
Any idea? Am I not supposed to get the Samrtform with font formats and borders, etc, inside de mail body?
The attached Smartform (which the system automatically converts into PDF) looks good. But the other one, as mail body, really sucks as plain text...

Hi,
you can do it first you need to goto smartforms tcode there click on radiobutton 'Style'.
Give any name and click on create. Right sideyou can find character format right click on it and create a node .A pop will raise gve a 2 characterlike z1 or a1 etc click on font tab gve size and font style and click on save and activate. Use this style in your smartform you can apply what ever styles created in styles you can use it in your smartform by that smartstyle name.
When we create text in output options give your smart style name and click on general attributes . Select your text and apply the style what thse size it should be and what the font style it should be.
Goto smartforms tcode and select formpainter in application bar set layout according to your requirement.

Creating the Standard Text:
Go to SO10
1. Enter Text Name. For example, ZABC
2. Text ID ST
3. Language EN
Click on Create.
And enter the Required Information and save.
To include a Standard text in SmartForm.
Follow the steps below:
1. Create a text node in the window.
2. Under general attributes select "Include text" as Type.
3. Specify the fields under Text.
Text Name ZABC
Text Object TEXT
Text ID ST
Language EN.
