Smartforms - Zebra Printers.

Hello experts,
My Smartform layout is related to warehoues management - Transfer order.
Same layout gives a clear Print in the Hp Printers
But only a Half of the layout gets print in the Zebra printer.
Please help me in this issue.

I have worked with Zebra labels for the smartforms and PDF forms.
No nececessary to use ZPL for smartform and PDF Forms. SAP has built in support.

Hi
I need to print a smartform conataning BAR codes using ZEBRA printer..
How to do this? what all things I need to take care while creating smartform and driver program?
Please help as if possible with examples .

I used ZEBRA TLP2844 recently.
Create a character type in your smartstyle of type C128A.
The font should be of type HELVE.
And the values u need in barcode format, assign this character type. No other changes required. Just install the printer drivers.

Adobe Form - Problem with Cyrillic texts on zebra printers (ZPL)

Hello,
we have problems with an adobe form. We try to print this adobe form on a zebra printer with the device type "AZPL203". In this adobe form we have to print the material description in german and russian language.
When we print out the adobe form on a normal printer (e.g. HP) everything is fine. But when we print the form on a zebra printer, the russian textwill not be printed on the label. In the print preview of the form, we will see the correct russian text.
So can anybody help me?
Did anybody print cyrillic text on a zebra printer?

First.. I apologize because I know this is the wrong thread. But the folks in this thread apparently have the missing piece of info that I/we desperately need.. Could you please help me to understand what I'm missing, or at least point me to a forum with the answer?
We have a few tags that print to a Zebra Z105SL printer via Smartforms. But due to recent design changes in the tags, and a desire to stay up with current technology, we/I would like to design the new tags in Adobe PDF-forms. The design is not a problem, but we cannot get SAP and the Zebra printer to make nice and print anything. For now, I've created a simple tag with a text field and a couple of bar codes on it, just to test and prove that the Zebra will print a PDF. We are using PDF-forms for several of our business forms, so everything works, but the Zebra just won't print a PDF. I don't know what I'm missing.. I know it's possible, but I can't figure out the "how" part. Could you please let me know how you did it?

Mac can't distinguish between identical Zebra printers...?

I have two Zebra TLP3842 label printers I want to attach via simple wired USB. They will be printing to different label types so are effectively different printers from my perspective. Apparently, the Mac sees both printers as identical so, although I can set a print queue up for one, I simply get the "A printer queue already exists, etc, etc..." pop-up when trying to do the same for the other. Is there a way of changing the names of the printers so the Mac can distinguish between them? I read somewhere that the Mac ties the name AND serial number together to get a unique printer name but that doesn't seem to be happening.
I know I can change the name of the printer after I've chosen it from the list of printers the Mac 'sees' but this doesn't change the 'orginal' printer name in the vailable list.
Any other help/advice gratefully received.

OK - I went into /usr/share/cups/model/zebraep2.ppd and, after changing permissions to read & write, I copied and pasted the ppd file. Then, when I added the first Zebra printer, I had a choice of two zebraep2.ppd drivers so I picked the first and called this printer Z1. I pulled the USB out of Z1 and hooked up the next Zebra printer via its USB into a different port and added that, but this time choosing the other zebraep2.ppd driver, and called it Z2. But it still said I already had a print queue for that printer....?
Any ideas?

Prints from Zebra printers can't be correctly displayed why?

SAP allows me to display previews of Zebra prints, but it only shows some numbers and symbols not the actual print as when we physically print it.
Mainly requesting: information about what configuration in SAP should I check or configure to fix this, how to have a virtual Zebra printer in SAP that allows to display Zebra prints in SAP Without needed to physically print them.
Help me to fix.

Hi Venkatesan,
If you are able to see preview correctly and not getting it correct on physical printer then you need to change "device type" of your printer through tcode SPAD. Please take help of your basis team.
In most of the cases, specific device types are available based on printer make and model.

Zebra printers with report

hi i have zebra tlp-2844 printer and i want to print bar code's on it

what do i need...i have created report but with i send print on zebra its does not fit with in the sticker boundaries i have ajusted its dimension as you advise but still not fit in the sticker
i have read an article which says you need to create xml file using oracle and then send to the printer have you heard or see any thing like this ???

Converting files to GRF to print in ZEBRA printers

Iu2019m trying to convert a TIF or PCX file to GRF using ZTOOLS program, but Iu2019m not able to convert, ZTOOLS inform that the conversion is done but there are no file anywhere in the PC.
Can anyone help me?

Zebra label printing with Smartforms

I am currently using smartforms to print to Zebra printers. the fields are printing on Portrait format, i am not able to get them to print Landscape. I used the documented Command Node in Smartforms -
Attribute Name: S_LZPL_SETUP
Attribute Value: '^FWR'
this is still not working for me...am i doing something wrong in this Command line?
Documentation says i can only use Portrait in smartforms because Zebras doesn't understand Landscape...documentation offers the above workaround, but it doesnt seem to work for me...has it work for any of you?

currently i have some smartforms printing to zebra printers, and i did it, using BARONE for ZPL generation.
it's exactly the same thing, you create a main window, and in the text editor toy click "TxtEditor" just above the "Check" buttonm and you pass to the sapscript tradicional editor. In there copy adn paste the ZPL code.
Define the parameters in the "Form interface" and i'ts done.
this way you will be able to resolve your problem, it's up to you to use (or not) the barone for Smartforms.

SAPSCRIPT: Printing international characters on ZEBRA; How to do?

I use software NiceLabel software to design barcode forms. I upload the design to so10 Sapscript text and print it on the Zebra ptinter. I used device tape ASCIIPRI. The SAP system is unicode.
Now I need to print chinese pallet labels and I get unexpected problems. I found a lot information but no solution. Is it possible to print international charcters form SAPScript on Zebra?
I got the information from Zebra's White Paper: Solution for Printing International Characters. There it says:
"Unicode UTF-8 is embedded within Zebra printers."
"SAP Forms can be universal. Labels and forms ... do not need to be modified or recreated to print in different languages."
"SAP-developed UTF-8 device type and code page support for SAPscript users"
"Label design software that can generate ZPL with support for Unicode ZPL commands"
Do you now which device type I have to use? I think I need an UTF-8 device type. Do you know how to go on?

Hi Frank,
as far as I know, it might be possible when using SMARTFORMS instead of SAPScript!
In that case, it depends of the device type and the printer type, of course.
Have a look on SAP Note 750002 SmartForms: Support für Zebra Etikettendrucker (ZPL2).

Printing Latin-2 on Zebra ZM400

hi,
i don´t know if this is the correct category but we have problems printing latin-2 characters (polish) on one of our Zebra printers.
Here´s the situation:
- we have a Zebra ZM400 printer and want to print polish characters.
- "Swis721BT" font is installed.
- We are NOT using Smartforms. Only SAPscript and ABAP list.
Our standard devicetype for printing on zm400 is "LB_ZEB". But this devicetype only supports latin-1 characters.
It works but the polish characters are printed as hash sign.
In some zebra documentations they recommend the devicetype "ZLB_ZBI2" for latin-2.
But when i use this devicetype i get an error which is "Internal error when printing - request on hold".
I don´t know what exactly it means. There are no more information.
Does anyone of you have experience with zebra printers and latin-2 characters?

Zebra ZPL II Commands e.g. ^PW in SIFbA ?

Hello.
we're using a smartform for label printing on a Zebra GK420T printer.
This works fine.
Now we had created a new SIFbA form with same functionality. But the
output is not satisfying, because the Zebra printer does not use the right
print width. So the output is displaced and shifted.
In the smartform we used ZPL II command '^PW304' to set the right
printwidth.
Is there a way to get this command working also for SIFbA by modifying the
azpl203.XDC File ?
And if so, where to put this command ?
Or are there other hints for designing labels with SIFbA on Zebra printers ?

Hi Sebastian,
I'm not sure why you use the script to change to portrait, when I print as landscape to zebra its fine.
Try to do the following:
Increase the page size to something larger than your pagesize, after that map out your layout like in my picture:
This way you will know which part of the form is the area that prints.
The reason I suggest this is that when I was on an older version of ADS (version 8.xxx) The area in which the label started was from 2 inches and downward, like in the previous picture i posted.
The more numbers you have the easier itll be for you to determine which part of the form is printing.

Is it possible to print barcodes from LT31 (SAPScript) on a Zebra?

We have a factory that would like to print their picking lists/transfer orders using transaction LT31 to a Zebra ZM600 printer. The transaction appears to create a spool in the SAPScript format.
We have tried pretty much all of the Zebra drivers (ZEB), a standard HP driver and a ASCII line printer driver (in SPAD) but nothing works - barcodes are not printed. For some drivers the format of the spool looks good in SP01, but then nothing is printed at all at the printer! In other cases the text is okay but barcodes are not, in other cases the text is complete gibberish.
The user has been informed that SmartForms should be used instead of SAPScript but we believe this would involve changes at ABAP level and our ABAP support is by a third party company which we are trying to avoid using.
I have seen SAP Note 179534 - Label printing with Zebra printers (SAPscript) but it seems this would also involve Application Support/ABAP teams etc.
Is there anything we (SAP Basis) or the end user can do to be able to print barcodes from LT31 to the Zebra printer without involving Application/ABAP support?

Adobe and Zebra printer

Hello All,
I have two questions on this topic:
Has anyone use Adobe forms and print a label using zebra printer? Currently we are using smartforms and we have to send command to rotate the text in the label. Will the Adobe forms works without the need of sending rotate command?
Also, would like to check on how to utilize different printer fonts that is available in zebra printer. In smartforms, only Helvetica font is supported and if you need additional fonts, you need to create a print control for it. By using Adobe forms, I'm hoping there is an easy way to do this. I read some documentation that in order to add the fonts, we need to put the font file in a certain directory and that's it. I'm not sure if this also valid for zebra printer.
Any info would be appreciated. I'm trying to make a case that by going to Adobe form at least for printing solution/non interactive forms, will help the form programmer to expedite the form design compared to smartforms especially when dealing with zebra printer.

yes it works - we use it productive for half an year to print barcodes and so on...it works good, if you have configured it well...i will try to give you some helpful hints:
1. If ADS is not configured yet in your installation use the guide "Adobe Document Services Configuration for SAP NetWeaver 7.0"
2. read SAP Note 685571 - it describes how to install the xdc file for Zebra Printers into the sap system (you have to install it on the system your sap runs - not the ads system). The appropriate device type is the AZPL203 (we tried a little bit to find this out)
3. in SPAD define a Printer, use devicetype AZPL203, if your Zebra Printer is connected via LAN (i recommend this) use the host spool access method "C - direct operating system call"
4. be sure to have a zebra printer supporting ZPL2 - for example first we tried it with Zebra TPL 282x series - it doesn´t worked - then we found out that the printer model must support ZPL2.0 for Adobe Printing, now we use a newer model the Zebra TPL 2824 PLUS with integrated LAN interface.
5. and last but not least !!! if you are using a windows printserver, you have to use the driver "ZPL TLP 2824 Plus (ZPL)"
(6. try to use the most recent patches for your ads system)
